And now we go to the Boiling Isles. Takes place before Hollow Mind.
Enjoy!
It was another day on the Boiling Isles. Sora walked through the forest as he talked to the audience.
"The Boiling Isles. Another world home to many demons and other creatures alike. Basically, a home for the supernatural. And many of them strive to be witches, whether they're part of the main nine tracks, other tracks, or just for the fun of it. And one lucky human found her way here, wanting to become a witch herself. Luz Noceda, a resident of Gravesfield, Connecticut in the human realm. And here she made friends. A witch teacher, a demon brother, two witch best friends, and a witch girlfriend. But while Emperor Belos seemed to exaggerate about the idea of 'Wild Witches' roaming the Isles, this story here... doesn't exaggerate the idea so much."
Inside the Owl House, Luz was looking through Phillip Wittebane's journal.
"Ugh! Still nothing about creating a proper portal door!" she groaned. "The first one worked… kinda. Now I'm at a tight crossroad!"
King jumped up to her side on the couch with a "Weh!" "You should relax Luz. You'll figure out a way to get back." he assured her.
"I know, but even after I told my mom the whole story, I still gotta explain things much more clearly to her." Luz sighed, remembering her mother tearfully apologizing and begging her to come home.
"King is right kiddo."
Both human and demon looked over to see Eda coming from the kitchen with a mug of apple blood.
"You should take it easy today Luz. You'll get back to your mom one way or another."
"Thanks Eda." Luz smiled, putting Phillip's journal away. She checked her phone. "Let's see, no new updates on the old cellular device from the human realm so crystal ball it is!"
"No can do, kid. Had to loan it to Morton in exchange for my next batch of elixir." Eda said. "Won't get it back until tomorrow."
"Ah farts." Luz groaned. "Ok, books it is!"
Luz skimmed Eda's bookshelf until she grabbed a book titled "Most Famous Witches."
"Ooh, Eda, where did you get this?" she asked.
"Ah I remember that old thing." Eda hummed. "Before they joined the bard coven, Raine gave it to me on one of our dates."
"Aww! That was so sweet of them!" Luz cooed.
The Latina witch examined the book, looking at pictures of many great witches that were either part of the nine covens, the Emperor's coven, or their own.
"I'm surprised there aren't any witches like you in here, Eda." Luz commented.
"Please!" Eda scoffed. "Belos would hardly allow books about 'wild witches' and all that crap about us being reckless got out on the reading shelves." She paused. "Although it would be fun to tell my story and sell it for big bucks."
"That's what I'll do when I figure out what creature I truly am!" King declared.
Luz then came across a picture of two witches; one male and one female.
The male one was tan with slick brown hair, green eyes, and wore black glasses, a red robe with gold lining, and purple shoes.
The female one was tan as well but with cherry-red hair, violet eyes, and wore a blue robe unfastened with a white shirt underneath, a purple sash, green pants, and black boots.
"Who are these guys?" Luz asked. "The… Moonstones?"
Eda spat out her drink. "The Moonstones?! Good Titan I forgot those wild witches even existed!"
Luz and King were confused. "Whaddya mean? Who are they?" King asked.
Eda frowned. "If you two thought I was reckless with magic, a 'wild witch' like Belos put it, that's putting it lightly compared to what those two are capable of!"
"Whaddya mean?" Luz asked.
"They're even more reckless with magic than either of us." Eda replied. "They use it for dangerous, destructive, and downright evil purposes. Major theft, violent destruction, all enough to land the most powerful witches in intensive care. Takes the Healing Coven close to a month to heal victims of the Moonstone couple! Violence is their main forte."
Luz and King were surprised.
"Wow. That's kinda… disturbing." Luz noted. "Why are they like that?"
"No one knows." Eda shrugged. "And frankly, I'm not eager to find out. And their violence and craziness are enough to keep me away from them."
"Wow! If Eda's afraid of a wild witch, then you know it's bad." King hummed.
Eda bent to the two's level. "Trust me when I say this." she said sincerely. "Stay away from Malick and Evie Moonstone. They're dangerous. Think of them as the Bonnie and Clyde of our world. They're not famous in that book. They're infamous."
Luz frowned. "Oh I am totally staying away from them." she said.
The next day, Luz, Amity, Gus, and Willow were leaving Hexside after another day of learning.
"She said these two witches deliberately cause mass destruction wherever they go." Luz told them.
"My Dads told me about the Moonstone witches." Willow said. "Legend has it that they practiced magic starting at a young age. But when they grew up, they wanted more power, not to be limited by what the Emperor's Coven wanted."
"Sounds like Eda, but a little more crazy and rambunctious." Gus commented.
"Well no one has seen those two rogue witches in a long while." Amity said. "At least that's what Dad told me."
"Welp, once we're done with homework at the Owl House, I will be showing you guys the wonderous world of entertainment of time traveling cars and humans busting ghosts in the big NYC on my phone's streaming app!" Luz declared.
"That sounds like a cool movie!" Gus said.
"Actually it's two different franchises, but I'm sure there's fan art out there." Luz replied.
As the four witches made their way through town, they thought they saw some flashes coming from the forest.
"Did you guys see that?" Willow asked.
"Yeah… I bet there's a fireworks show going on there!" Gus said excitedly.
"Or… someone's casting spells in the woods." Amity said flatly.
"Hmm… wonder which coven it could be." Luz hummed. "Let's go check it out!"
Luz and Gus ran for the forest. Willow and Amity traded glances.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Amity said.
"You and me both, Blight." Willow said in agreement.
The group walked deep into the forest, pushing past branches and bushes in their way as the flashes guided their path.
"Think they're hiding out from Belos?" Gus asked.
"Could be. He hates 'wild magic' so they'd probably hide out here." Amity replied.
Then they began to hear some laughter. The four witches slowed in their walking and hid behind a large stone.
They all peered over it to see two figures around a black cauldron bubbling green liquid. One wore a red robe and one wore a blue robe.
"Pour the next ingredient…" the one in red said.
The one on blue poured a vile of lavender liquid. "Tears of a sick goblin." she said.
The one in red dropped in a claw. "An old griffin's claw…"
The blue held up a spray bottle and sprayed green liquid in the cauldron mixture. "A spritz of Snaggletooth blood…"
The red one then dropped in what looked like an eyeball. "And a dead witch eye…"
The cauldron glowed a bright blue.
"Perfect… our spell is almost complete." the red one grinned.
"Soon all of the Boiling Isles will know true magic." the red one said. "Then our voices will truly be heard."
Luz, her friends, and girlfriend stared in shock.
"Who are those two?" Luz asked.
"I dunno… but I got a bad feeling in my heart and bile-sack." Willow murmured.
Gus suddenly stepped on a tree branch, getting the figures' attention.
"Is someone there?" the blue one asked.
"Gus!" the girls hissed.
"Sorry!" Gus whispered. "I didn't see where my boot was stepping!"
Suddenly the four were yanked up by their hands and brought to the other side of the rock on their feet. The figures let them go.
"Well well well, look what we have here Mal…" the blue one mused.
"Some kids who should be in school instead of spying on other covens." the red one nodded.
"Uh, we-we weren't spying!" Gus stammered. "We were just… observing while being quiet and hidden!"
"Gus, that is literally spying." Amity deadpanned.
Gus sweatdropped.
"Look, we don't wanna cause any trouble." Luz said, trying to keep calm. "We were just leaving."
But when they tried to back away, the figures whooshed to block their escape.
"Nice try kids… but you're not going anywhere." the blue figure said.
"Not until you help us with our little spell, to help master true magic." the red one said.
"What are you talking about?" Luz asked. "True magic?
"You will see if you get us these four things." said the blue figure, handing them a list. "This kind of power can help benefit witchkind. The Boiling Isles doesn't realize it, but they could use a little boost in power since Belos keeps it all to himself…"
"And why should we help you?" Amity demanded. "We don't even know you."
"Because with the magic we study, we can use it to help you." the blue one replied.
The quartet of friends stood silent, trading glances.
"Help us with what?" Willow asked.
"With that ever desire you wish to have." the red one said. "Being with a loved one, helping the cursed or sick… maybe find you a way back to your home…"
Luz and Amity were surprised. It was true Luz did want to find a way home. And Amity did want to be with Luz despite the harsh expectations of Odalia and, to a much lesser extent, Alador. And the both of them, Willow, and Gus wished there was a way they could help Eda be cured from her curse. Lilith too.
"Please believe us." the blue one said. "Belos would never allow this kind of magic to transpire anywhere, not Boonesborough, not the Isles, not even anywhere else on the Titan…"
"If you help us achieve a special kind of spell, then everyone's problems will be solved." the red one said.
Luz and even Amity began to ponder that.
"Guys I don't think this is such a good idea." Gus said.
"Yeah these were two complete strangers. How can we trust them?" Willow added, shooting the two figures a look.
Luz and Amity shook their heads.
"You're right, you're right, I made mistakes trusting random strangers." Luz nodded.
"And I am not falling for broken promises like that." Amity added.
The two cloaked figures sighed.
"Very well then." the blue one said. "I guess we'll have to do this the hard way."
"Hard way?" the four echoed in nervous unison.
The two figures removed their hoods and Luz gasped when she saw their faces.
"Oh. My. GOD! The Moonstones?!" Luz cried.
"Look into our eyes little ones…" Evie grinned as her eyes suddenly glowed yellow.
Luz, Amity, Gus, and Willow tried to resist by closing their eyes and turning away, but Malick grabbed them by the chins and forced their heads to turn to the two older witches, making their eyes open in the process. Malick's eyes glowed two.
Before the four friends realized what was going on, their eyes began to glow. Their minds became numb and their mouths hung open and they groaned in a creepy tone.
"Perfect…" Malick grinned. "Now they're under our control…"
Evie tore the list into four pieces.
"Go into town and get us these things." she said, handing a piece of the list to each witch. "Bring them back here. And don't let anyone get in the way."
Groaning mindlessly, the quartet each grabbed a paper and walked away, still groaning eerily and eyes glowing yellow.
Malick and Evie grinned wickedly.
"It works every time." Malick said. "Once this spell is complete, the Boiling Isles won't know what hit it…"
"And then they will all know what kind of true power we possess… and will live in fear of the wildest of witches the isles has ever seen…" smirked Evie.
Their eyes glowed yellow and they began to cackle.
Outside the forest, Gus wandered mindlessly into a cemetery. A grave worker was tending to the graves.
"Welp, time for my lunch break," he said.
He sat down beside a storage shed and began to eat a sandwich.
Despite being under mind control, Gus used his illusion magic to make himself invisible. He came across a grave for a witch and began to dig out clumps of dirt. He then pulled out a jar and dropped them in.
The grave worker saw a floating jar and dirt being dropped into it. He spat out his sandwich in fright.
"Good Titan, the dead are rising and trying to free their bodies!" he yelled before he ran for his life.
Seeing that he was all alone, Gus got rid of the illusion, sealed the jar of dirt shut, and stumbled back to the forest.
At the Knee, Willow trudged through the snow until she stopped. Lifting her hands, a large Venus fly trap appeared and scooped up a large amount of snow.
And then, the very same monster that tried to hurt Luz, Eda, Amity, Edric, and Emira suddenly came charging at Willow. Without even looking, the possessed plant witch snapped her fingers and a large thorn plant launched the beast into the air and sent it flying away.
Groaning eerily, Willow rugged through the snow back to the forest.
In town, Lilith was exiting a store with groceries.
"This ought to exceed Mom and Dad's grocery list expectations." she said.
Lilith then heard a yelling noise. She turned toward Morton's stand and saw Amity hold him hostage with an abomination monster.
"Hey, what are you doing!?" Morton exclaimed.
Amity's head creaked as she turned to face him with a zombified look.
Morton sweat dropped. "Never mind." he squeaked.
Amity sent abominations hands into the stand and they dragged out a handful of blue elixirs.
"Miss Amity?!" Lilith exclaimed in shock. "Why are you robbing that stand?"
Amity turned to Lilith with a blank expression, her hypnotized eyes glowing brightly.
Lilith gasped. "Oh no… witch hypnosis!"
Amity then stumbled back to the forest with the abomination holding the blue elixirs following her.
"I need to call Edalyn!" Lilith said, running off to find a crow phone.
At the Owl House, Eda was cooking in the kitchen.
"Add two griffin eggs and a pinch of basil." Eda said, adding them in.
Then she heard a clatter.
"Luz? Luz you back?" she called.
Eda ran into the living room and spotted Luz putting glasses of apple blood into a bag.
"Luz! Whaddya doing with my apple blood?!" Eda exclaimed. "If you wanted to rebel some more, I would've suggested we tag the emperor's coven with swears, roasts, and butts."
Luz faced Eda, eyes glowing and groaning in a spooky manner.
Eda blinked. "Uh Luz… are you alright?" she asked.
King then came in holding an English to Spanish dictionary,
"Hey Luz! I brushed up on more Spanish!" King said.
He stopped in his tracks when he saw Luz not responding and just groaning. She held the bag over her shoulder and walked out the door.
"Have a safe journey Luz!" Hooty called.
"What's going on with her?" King asked.
"I dunno, but I didn't like the way her eyes were glowing." Eda said.
Suddenly, her crow phone rang. She picked up and answered.
"Hey if you're calling about the refunds, it ain't happening hot shots." Eda said casually.
"Edalyn it's me! I saw my former pupil Amity Blight under Witch Hypnosis!" Lilth's voice sprang out.
Eda's eyes widened. "Were her eyes glowing?" she asked.
"Yes, why?"
"Because Luz has the same thing going on!" Eda exclaimed. "Follow Amity and we'll follow Luz! We gotta see what's going on!"
"Right. I'm on it."
Grabbing Owlbert, Eda and King hopped on and flew out of the Owl House after Luz.
Forest:
Eda and King flew down into the trees and got off Owlbert as Eda grabbed him
"Ah farts, lost sign of her!" Eda grunted.
"You know for someone who's moving slow like a zombie she was pretty fast to lose." King commented.
Lilith suddenly ran up.
"I lost Amity in the forest!" she said. "And judging by your expression sister, you've lost your student too."
"How'd ya guess?" Eda deadpanned.
Suddenly there was a bright flash from the trees.
"Weh? What was that?!" asked King.
"Looks like we may be in more than we bargained for." Eda said suspiciously. "Hold your ground."
Clutching their palismen and King clenching his paws, the three ventured into the woods.
After 4 minutes of walking, the sisters and King came to the center and gasped.
There stood Luz, Amity, Willow, and Gus, eyes glowing brightly, handing what they took to Malick and Evie.
"There they are! But who are those two?" King asked.
"Aw Titan it's the Moonstones!" Eda gasped.
"I should've known." Lilith scowled. "Those two are masters of Witch Hypnosis. And of course they would use it on the unsuspecting to help them do their dirty work."
"And our kids just walked into their scheming grasps." Eda scowled.
They began adding the ingredients into their cauldron.
"Dirt from a witch's grave…" said Malick, dumping the jar in.
"Snow from the Titan's Knee…" said Evie as Willow's Venus Fly Trap spat the snow into the cauldron.
"Elixir for the common mold…" said Malick as Amity's abomination dropped said contents in.
"And a big stash of Apple Blood." Evie grinned, dumping all the apple blood in. "The mixture is complete!"
"Now to say the spell and all the isles will know what true power looks like!" Malick grinned.
"Not so fast!"
The witches looked over to see the Clawtornes jump out of the trees, the witches aiming Owlbert and Mike Socks at the couple. It had been Eda who spoke.
"Don't move an inch!" King yelled.
"And let our kids go you rogue freaks!" Eda added.
"Well, well, well." Malick smirked. "The Clawthorne sisters; the Isles most wanted witch Edalyn and Belos' old stooge Lilith."
"Surprised to see you out here." Evie added.
"That's because you brainwashed these four kids into committing robberies for your schemes!" Lilith snapped.
"Hey, it's hard to get what you want when every coven out there is out to put you behind bars or petrify you," Evie shrugged.
"I know that feeling." Eda muttered before shaking it off. "Still, I don't go hypnotizing random kids to go steal for me!"
"What are you even making?" asked King, glancing into the cauldron. "Is this some kind of potion or something?"
Malick smirked. "Oh it's more than just a potion…" he said, waving his hands over the cauldron. "This is a power boost!"
"Power boost?" King echoed uneasily.
"True power isn't hierarchy." Evie said as she joined her husband. "It's strength in numbers… and such strength equals glory, domination… and utter chaos!" She began to laugh.
Eda and Lilith traded worried glances.
"And thanks to your kids getting us the very last ingredients we needed… we can now show you how it's truly done!" Malick maliciously grinned.
"Not on our watch!" Eda said as she, King, and Lilith charged at the rogue witches.
Malick held out his hands and casted a blast of dark magic that sent the three flying backwards into the trees.
"Enough of your interference, you weak, pathetic, wretches!" he yelled. "My good wife, it is time!"
The two walked near the cauldron and began to chant.
"Magic mixtures of the dark, we call to you out loud, give to us our enchanted power, all of it not a shroud. Where chaos and victory come together with us, we shall reign terror over all, with oblivion or BUST!"
The potion in the cauldron swirled around before it erupted in a burst of green magic. Eda, King, and Lilith watched in horror as it enveloped the Moonstone couple, the evil witches taking it all in with malicious grins on their faces.
"Yes… YES!" Malick grinned. "I can feel the power…"
"Such evil… such strength… it's amazing!" Evie cackled.
Then their veins began to glow green, followed by their eyes. And then, they both began to transform. Their teeth grew, their fingers became claws, spikes burst through their backs, and their laughter became more echoey and eerie than before, spooking the Cawthornes.
"I don't like this…" Eda murmured.
"What's to like!? They're turning into dark creatures!" Lilith shouted.
"Make it stop! The mutation is unbearable!" King shrieked.
The transformations were complete. Evie and Malick didn't look like human-like witches anymore. They now looked like mutated glowing monstrosities.
"Yes! This is what true power is!" cackled Malick, roaring loudly, the shockwave destroying 10 trees at once.
"Oh I can get used to this!" Evie cheered, sending a magic blast from her paws that created a crater in the forest.
Eda, King, and Lilith nearly fell over from the impact.
"Why are you doing this?!" Lilith shouted.
"This is what true witch power is all about Clawthorne!" yelled Evie. "Now we will lay waste to the Boiling Isles!"
"And rebuild it in a more chaotic image the way we see fit!" Malick added. "Oh, and kids? Destroy these three weaklings while we dominate this wretched town."
The two monsters dashed out of the forest as the hypnotized witches turned their heads to the Clawthornes and began to stumble towards them.
"Oh that is low." Eda scowled.
"Amity, Luz, Willow, Augustus, snap out of it!" Lilith yelled.
"You heard her! I don't wanna fight you!" King cried.
But the hypnosis was blocking their pleading words. Luz tossed several light glyphs that exploded around the Clawthornes, forcing them to scatter. Amity raised abomination geysers, knocking them into the air. Eda and Lilith reluctantly tried to fire blasts from their palismen. While they managed to hold them back a bit, that didn't stop Willow from making the unwrecked trees extend their branches to knock the Clawthornes to the ground. Gus used his illusion magic to make multiple copies of the hypnotized four.
"Oh come on!" whined King.
The three tried punching, kicking, and firing spells at the kids to snap them out of their hypnosis, but every time it was an illusion.
"Weh?!" King exclaimed as he headpatted through 4 Illusion Amitys. "Oh this is just ridiculous!"
Lilith sent a blast that destroyed two Illusion Luzs and one Illusion Gus. "At this rate we won't snap them out of it and the Moonstones will destroy all of Boonesborough by the time we actually do!"
"Don't give up!" said Eda, ducking from Luz sending an ice glyph at her. "Clawthrones don't go down that easily!"
King used his sonic screaming "Weh!", creating a shockwave that destroyed the illusions, leaving the four brainwashed kids left, all of them holding onto a plant conjured by Willow so they wou;dnt be knocked away.
"Ha ha, that's my boy!" Eda cheered as she ducked from vines brought up by Willow almost striking her in the face. "Hey, watch it, Garden Lover!" she yelled.
King jumped around, avoiding Luz throwing fire glyphs at him. Then he had to run when Amity sent abominations after him. "Is there any way to snap these four out of their brainwashing?!" he cried.
Eda tried blasting Gus but it was just another illusion. "Ah, griffin guano." she cursed. "Lilith, now would be a good time to put that annoying brain of yours to some good use!"
"I'm thinking, I'm thinking!" Lilith shouted, blasting Willow's giant weeds from wrapping around her. "Ok ok ok, witch hypnosis… what was the cure again?" She ran to avoid getting hit by an ice glyph. "That almost took my head off, Luz!" she snapped.
Then, Lilith's eyes widened behind her glasses.
"Of course!" she exclaimed. "The execution of witch hypnosis is complicated… but the solution is actually so simple!"
"So?! What is it then?!" yelled Eda.
At that moment, Luz came running up to Lilith, light glyphs in hand. Lilith raised her palismen.
"Forgive me Luz…" she said.
WHACK!
Lilith banged Luz on the head. Luz winced as her eyes stopped glowing.
"Gah!" she yelled, dropping her glyphs and falling to the ground. "Ow mi cabeza…" she moaned.
"That's it?" Eda blinked. "A good bonk on the head?"
"It's a flaw in the spell!" Lilith replied. "It rendered it useless as it messes with the brain, freeing it from control!"
Eda then saw Amity run up at her with abomination fists, ready to strike. Eda raised Owlbert.
"Sorry Boots." Eda said casually.
WHACK!
Amity winced as her abomination hands disappeared as she fell, holding her head. Her eyes stopped flowing.
"Gah! Ow!" she groaned. "Ed, Em, did you water bucket prank me again?!" she groaned.
King saw Willow and Gus run up to him.
"Sorry guys. This may hurt you more than me." King said, taking a deep breath and going… "WEH!"
The shockwave sent Willow and Gus flying into the trees, hitting their heads against the trunks. They groaned as they got up and held their heads.
"Owie…!" moaned Willow.
"Oh my brain…" Gus groaned.
King, Eda, and Lilith each helped them up.
"Sorry about that. Had to snap you out of your hypnosis somehow." Eda said.
"Are you guys ok?" King asked.
"I think so…" Gus said.
"What happened to us?" Willow asked.
"I remember coming here… seeing two witches…" Luz murmured before gasping. "The Moonstones! They were plotting a spell!"
"Yeah they were." Eda nodded. "And you guys took things to help them finish it."
Luz and her friends were horrified.
"We did what?!" exclaimed Amity.
"We didn't mean to do it!" Gus said quickly.
"It was not your fault. Those two are always up to something dangerous." Eda said. "Stooping to all kinds of levels for chaos and power. And this time they crossed it much further than before."
Amity rubbed her head before looking at Lilith in surprise. "Miss Lilith? Titan it's uh… been a while." Amity said awkwardly.
Lilith blinked and looked away awkwardly. "Uh yes… it-it has…" she said.
"Focus Lily," said Eda. "We got monster witches on the rampage in Bonesborough and we gotta stop them."
"How do we even stop them?" asked Gus.
"They've mutated into monsters!" added Willow.
"Maybe there's some sort of reversal spell?" asked King.
"There could be." said Lilith. "Good thing I always bring a spell book with me."
Lilith reached into her bag and pulled out the book.
"I know I recognized that kind of spell given those ingredients. Let's see… ah, here we go; Demon Monster Spell." she said. "Reversal spell will contain several ingredients in this cauldron. But if it all goes well, we might be able to stop them."
"We'll hold them off! You guys get the ingredients!" said Luz.
"Are you sure kiddo?" Eda asked.
"Yeah! I wanna pay those witches back for turning me into a mindless, thieving zombie!" Luz said determinedly. "We got this!"
Eda nodded as she handed Luz Owlbert. She and King got on and took off to the sky. Amity, Gus, and Willow followed on theirs.
"Come on Lily, let's get potion making!" Eda smirked, cracking her knuckles.
Bonesbourogh:
The citizens screamed in terror as Malick and Evie stormed through in their mutated monster forms. Malick sent a blast of fire into several shops. Evie sent a blast of dark magic into a building as the townsfolk ran.
"Monsters!" cried a male biped demon.
"And not the good kind!" yelled a female witch.
"No… the powerful kind!" Evie laughed as she thrashed support pillars on a water tower away, causing it to crash.
Malick jumped into the park. "BOO!" he yelled.
The kids screamed in fight and ran for cover as Malick destroyed the playground equipment.
Evie took to the skies and sent a powerful gust of wind down to the ground, sending the townsfolk into the air in terror.
"Help us!" a male lizard-demon yelled.
"Evil is throwing us around!" a female elf cried.
"This is a fowce gweater than us!" Tiny Nose yelled. "We are playthings for a higher powerw!"
Evie joined her husband in the sky.
"Bask in the power my love." she said. "This is what true power is all about!"
"Oh I am my wicked dear." Malick grinned. "Belos is a fool for not recognizing what power is all about; chaos, destruction, glorifying victory!"
"It is the Season of the Witches now…" Evie laughed. "LONG LIVE WILD WITCHES!"
The two were suddenly punched across town by an abomination fist.
"You two are too wild for this town!" Luz shouted as she and her friends flew up on their palismen.
Malick scowled. "I should've known that hypnosis spell wouldn't have lasted!" he snarled.
"Stop this insanity!" Amity yelled.
"Why should we when we've come THIS FAR?!" Evie yelled, casting a wave of fire that hit the group, knocking them out of the air.
Thankfully, Owlbert, Ghost, Clover, and Emmiline Bailey Marcostimo saved them from falling. They landed on their feet safely.
"Let's fight some mutant witches!" said Gus.
Malick and Evie landed on the ground.
"Alright you whelps… time to end you!" Malick yelled before roaring like a beast.
Evie sent a wave of fire at them that Luz blocked with an ice glyph, creating an ice pillar. Amity sent abomination magic swirling around the two villains. Malick tore his claws right through it and sent a wave of water magic into Amity, knocking her onto the ground. Gus sent his illusions to surround them, trying to confuse Evie as to which one was the real Gus. But the female mutant witch conjured up a windy tornado around her and made it explode around her, knocking Gus away and making the illusions disappear. King suddenly leapt down from a house he climbed up earlier and began thrashing Malick's face with his claws. Malick snarled and grabbed King off his face and attempted to snap him with his sharp teeth. But Amiy sent an abomination explosion in the monster's mouth to stop him and rescued King with an abomination rope. Willow sent spiky vines rising up from the ground to strike them each from above. Luz came up from behind and sent a fire glyph into Evie, followed by two light glyphs to knock her off her feet. Evie turned back and roared at Luz, raising a claw to strike her. Luz yelped and attempted to use an ice glyph to shield her, but Evie thrashed it to smithereens and knocked Luz in the face to the ground. Evie attempted to thrash Luz with her claws, but Amity used an abomination monster to hold her back.
"Don't you dare hurt my Luz!" Amity yelled.
"Sweet potato!" Luz said in relief with a blush.
Amity sent a massive abomination orb hurtling towards Evie, but she grabbed it with her claws.
"Very well then… then you can take her place!" Evie roared as she flung the abomination orb back at them.
It struck Amity and Luz, making them fall backwards coated in abomination goo.
King suddenly jumped onto Evie.
"Don't you dare hurt my big sister and her girlfriend!" King yelled, jamming his claws into the mutant witch's cheeks.
Evie bowled in pain as she snatched King off of her and threw him to the ground.
"Nice throw, my wicked love…" Malick smirked.
Willow attempted to strike him with a spiky plant, but Malick caught it with ease, snapped it off of the ground with his strength and smacked Willow to the ground with it.
"Allow me to finish this abysmal attack!" Malick cackled when suddenly, multiple versions of Gus mailed on top of him. With a roar, Malick knocked them all off and snatched the real Gus in his grasp and smashed him against the ground and then smacked him into his friends.
Luz, King, Amity, Willow, and Gus groaned as Evie and Malick floated down above them. They tried to get up, but Malick threw orbs of darkness at them, knocking them right back on the ground.
"Simpleton witches and pathetic little beast…" Malick sneered. "Thought you could beat us, did you?!"
"Naïve and foolish to the very end." Evie mocked. "Such a shame, you were good missions to us… even under mind control."
Malick chuckled. "And now you will become the first true victims to our true chaotic witch power…" he said. "After all, we Moonstones always achieve what we want. And no one can stop us…"
They conjured up a fire spell. It grew to the size of the Owl House itself. The five kids looked up and gasped at the fire above them.
But before they could bring it down upon them, Malick was struck in the head by a light spell, making him lose focus and the fire magic disappeared.
"Who did that?!" he snapped.
"I did!"
There, standing on top of a building, was Eda. She held Lilith's palismen.
"No one hurts my kids and tries to get away with it!" Eda snarled. "Especially two rogue nut job witches… although the mutations are quite the sight." she added. "Though my harpy form is better times a hundred."
"Eda Clawthorne." Malick growled. "The wildest of wild witches…"
"How come you never joined the likes of us? We're not restrained by some pathetic coven system under Belos' insanity!"
"Ok first of all, funny how you call Belos insane - as true as it is - when you're the ones destroying the town," Eda deadpanned. "And second, I may like being a wild witch, powers or not, but I would never stoop to this kind of level. I mean this is just beyond wild! You're psychotic witches!"
"Exactly!" Evie cackled. "This is what true power is all about!"
"Chaos, destruction, domination-!" Malick began.
"Blah blah blah, you and your 'true power' talk bore me more than Hexside rules." Eda interrupted. She smirked. "Well enjoy it while it lasts, because soon you're gonna lose it."
Malick and Evie stared hard at Eda. "And what do you mean by that, Edalyn?" Malick questioned.
"Oh what I mean is Lily and I are gonna reverse your spell back where you casted it and you'll lose all of this." Eda said casually. "Ok byyyyyyyyye!"
And Eda took off back to the forest.
"After her! We cannot lose what we worked so hard to get!" Malick yelled.
He and Evie took to the skies out of Bonesborough and raced after Eda.
At that moment, Luz and her friends regained their strength.
"Come on!" Luz said as they all got onto their palismen and took to the sky after the three.
In the forest, Lilith had been mixing in materials in the Moonstone's cauldron. She snuck into another town to find them away from the chaos and destruction.
"Ok let's recap here… sand from the boiling beach, bug blood, cyclops tears, griffin egg yolk… and last, but certainly not least… bat DNA."
Using tweezers, she dropped a hair into the cauldron.
"Thank Titan the Bat Queen was more than happy to help." Llith said. "No need for insane mutant witch monsters coming after her palismen."
Eda suddenly flew in on her sisters' palismen.
"Is it ready?!" the Owl Lady asked. "They're on the way!"
"It is." Lilith nodded. "Once we say the spell it'll reverse their mutant forms and restore them to normal. As long as the process isn't interrupted. But we will need them close enough to accomplish it."
"That's all I needed to hear." said Eda when there was a loud roar. "Here they come!"
Malick and Evie burst out from the forest.
"Stop them!" Malick yelled.
Lilith held the book as she and Eda began to read.
"Spells of old and darkest night, reverse this spell on the side. Mutation ends at our call. End this evil once and for all!"
They finished just in the nick of time before Maliclk and Evie could thrash them with their claws. A giant burst of magical yellow light came out of the cauldron, sending them back onto the ground. Swirls of magic struck them and began to tug at their forms. Their mutations began to shift back to normal as they screamed in pain.
"No! Stop!" Evie shouted.
"Our powers!" wailed Malick.
At that moment, Luz, Amity, King, Willow, and Gus came in, hopping off their palismen.
"Whoa! What's going on here?!" asked Gus.
"We're taking away these two's insane powers!" Eda called.
But then Evie and Malick stood up, anger on their faces.
"I won't let this happen!" shirked Evie.
"You shall suffer for your meddling!" Malick roared.
The kids took steps back cautiously as the Moonstones tried to break free from the spell. They raised their hands to conjure up any magic left to attack the group.
"Oh no you don't!" said Luz as she threw light glyphs to blind them.
Amity punched them backwards with an abomination fist and Willow used her pants to bind their legs to the ground. Gus conjured up a monster face illusion to startle the evil witches into falling backwards.
At that moment, the mutations were gone as the magic began to go back into the cauldron.
"Yes! The reversal was a success!" Lilith said triumphantly.
"Ha ha! We did it!" Eda grinned.
The Moonstones looked at themselves in horror.
"No! NO! Our power! Our control over everything!" Evie screamed.
She and her husband glared daggers at everyone.
"You will pay for this!" Malick snapped as he and Evie ran at the kids.
King suddenly stepped in front of the four bravely and took a deep breath.
"NO!" King yelled, his sonic wave knocking Malick and Evie backwards.
They landed on top of the cauldron. Suddenly, the magic consumed them and began to flash around wildly. The Moonstones screamed in agony.
"Whoa! Hey now, what's happening?!" Eda asked in surprise.
"That disrupted the spell! It's supposed to settle down after use!" Lilith cried.
"What does that mean?!" Luz shouted.
The flashes became brighter and the Moonstones' screaming grew louder.
"TAKE COVER!" Eda yelled.
Luz, Eda, King, Amity, Gus, Willow, and Lilith ran and took cover in the forest.
Malick and Evie screamed in agony as the disrupted magic began to eat away at their forms bit by bit like they were being torn apart. They were dragged into their cauldron mix before it suddenly exploded in a bright flashing light.
When it ended, the seven peered from the trees. All that was left where the cauldron once stood was a crater in the ground and slightly shard remains of Malick and Evie.
"What… what just happened?" asked Gus.
"The spell was disrupted before completion… and it killed them in the process…" Lilith said gravely.
"So the Moonstones are no more?" Luz asked in realization.
"After all the trouble they caused… I'd say that's a big relief in my book…" Eda said.
Later at the Owl House, Luz, Amity, Gus, and Willow rested on the couch. Luz laid on Amity's shoulder and Willow held Gus close. They all had mugs of water.
Eda, King, and Hooty were all checking on them.
"How are you guys feeling?" King asked.
"Tired, but better." Willow replied.
"My head still hurts from the hypnosis…" Gus groaned.
"I'm just glad it's over." Luz sighed.
"Me too, batata." Amity said.
At that moment, Lilith entered the house. A coven scout walked in after her.
"What the heck?! Lilith what are you-?!" Eda shouted.
"Relax sister, it's only Steve." Lilith said calmly. "I gave my statement to him to tell the coven."
"And I will make sure myself you guys aren't gonna be arrested for this." Steve added. "After all, you were hypnotized. And the Moonstones are known all too well for causing lots of trouble."
"And I spoke to Morton." Lilith added. "He now knows at Amity was under said mind control as well and won't be pressing charges. Odalia and Alador will remain none the wiser."
"Though I have a few tricks up my sleeve if one of them tries anything." Eda smirked.
"Thanks." Amity sighed.
Steve left as Lilith joined them all on a chair.
"Being under mind control like that was freaky." Luz murmured. "And now knowing that we were doing it for two power-hungry witches is just scary…"
"It'd be worse if it was for Belos." Willow muttered.
"I still can't believe we almost hurt you three." Amity said in guilt.
"And played a part in the town's destruction." Gus said sadly.
"Cheer up kiddos, it wasn't your fault." Eda soothed. "Malick and Evie were always relentless and destructive, only caring about themselves."
"What happened to them was their own undoing." Lilith added.
"Uh, wasn't I the one who sent them flying to their doom?" King asked.
"Yes but they decided to mess with us all." Lilith replied. "Using our kids, destroying the town, trying to kill us."
"I'm just glad they won't be using anyone ever again." Eda said in relief.
The kids smiled in relief.
"Thanks for saving us." Luz said thankfully.
Her friends smiled as well in thanks.
"Hey no problem at all kiddos." smiled Eda.
"That's what family is for!" King beamed.
Amity turned to Lilith. The older Clawthorne looked away nervously.
"Ms. Blight… look, about what happened at the convention-" Lilith began.
Amity held her hand up with a smile.
"You saved me from being a brain-washed zombie witch for crazy ones." she said. "And you are trying to make things right like me… I think it's time we start making thongs right with each other. And please… call me Amity."
Lilith smiled. "Thank you Ms. Bl… Amity."
And everyone smiled as they relaxed for the rest of the day.
Emperor's Palace:
Belos stood in the special room thinking to himself. The Collector's shadow loomed around him.
"So what's the news big guy?" he asked casually.
Belos was silent for a moment. Then, he said, "Two of the most wildest of witches perished today." he said. "Malick and Evie Moonstone. Apparently it was their own undoing."
"Oooh I heard about those crazies!" Collector commented, using his hands to make shadow puppets of what he described. "Causing destruction, manipulating people, always wanting power! Sounds like a fun game!"
Belos scowled. "This is what I always feared, Collector." he said. "Witches like them… they're all the same. Reckless, dangerous, manipulative… all the reasons why such order has to be taken care of. And why they can't be running free causing such disruption and chaos to the innocent and defenseless…"
Collector hummed. "Sounds like you're speaking from experience." he said.
"I wish to be alone, Collector." Belos said firmly.
Collector shrugged. "Suit yourself."
And he vanished.
Belos looked at a book about Grimwalkers. He was silent before scowling.
"I tried to tell you just about how dangerous these… these witches are…" he said. "Manipulative, chaotic, only caring about themselves…"
He looked at a picture of an eclipse.
"But don't worry… I will soon set things right." Belos said before he grunted, his voice changing to a different one all together. "And I will make sure to save humanity from the evil of witches everywhere… that is what we witch hunters do…"
Belos grunted and took deep breaths as his voice returned to normal. And then, he left the area, the doors shutting behind him with a loud echo.
Sora walked across the land in the dead of night.
"While Belos exaggerated about the idea of wild witches, the Moonstones weren't far off. They were just as insane and deranged as him. Luz and her friends almost fell victim to their schemes for good and became just as bad of witches as them. Thankfully, Eda, King, and a further redeeming Lilith helped save them from being mind-controlled slaves for those crazy witches. There are always those who would be willing to use vulnerable people for their schemes. But like many villains, their pride and arrogance was their downfall. And if there's one thing to take away from this... you don't mess with Luz Noceda, Eda Clawthorne, and the people associated with them."
