Chapter 4

With a flash of light, Kibito Kai, Gohan and Trunks appeared in the serene Realm of the Kais. The tranquility of the sacred realm contrasted sharply with the chaos they had just escaped. As soon as they landed, Gohan collapsed to one knee, still holding Trunks, their bodies worn from battle. Bulma rushed over, her face etched with worry.

"Gohan! Trunks!" Bulma exclaimed, dropping to her knees beside them. "Are you alright?!"

Gohan winced but managed a small, reassuring smile through the pain. "Told you we'd be back... didn't I?" His voice was strained but steady, a flicker of pride in his eyes despite his injuries.

Bulma sighed in relief, gently brushing the dirt from Trunks' face. "You had me worried sick," she whispered, her tone softer now. "Both of you."

Kibito Kai stood nearby, observing the scene with calm composure. He turned his gaze to Gohan and Bulma, sensing their questions before they could speak. "I understand this might be confusing," he said, his voice steady. "I am both Shin and Kibito, fused into one being, now known as Kabito Kai, It was the only way to stand against Dabura and his power."

"Fused? How does that work?" Bulma asked, her question echoed by both Gohan and Trunks.

"Yes. We used our Potara earrings to fuse our bodies, and as a result, our power levels were combined, making us far stronger," explained the fused Supreme Kai calmly.

"Wait! What if Gohan and I fused? We would be incredibly strong!" Trunks suggested with sudden excitement.

Kabito Kai shook his head. "It's not that simple. For Potara fusion to work, both of you would need to have equal power levels. As things stand, that wouldn't be possible. Besides, if you fuse with the earrings, the fusion is permanent."

At that, everyone paused. The idea of Gohan and Trunks fused forever hung awkwardly in the air. Bulma could only imagine how strange that would be—raising a son who was half her own child and half Goku's.

"Yeah... maybe not the best idea," Trunks said, scratching the back of his head. "But we still need to get stronger somehow, strong enough to stop Cell and everyone else threatening Earth."

"He's right," Gohan added, his face firm with determination. "We need to train harder, but smarter too. Kabito Kai, do you have any other methods besides just physical training? Maybe something that strengthens both our bodies and minds?"

The fused Supreme Kai stroked his chin thoughtfully. "There are techniques, yes, but they will be brutal on your bodies."

Gohan's eyes hardened with resolve. "I'm willing to do whatever it takes. I won't let my city, my friends, or my family fall to Buu's terror."

Kabito Kai gave a nod of approval. "Very well. Then let us begin."

"I'm going to do what I can to obtain the Z Sword," Trunks said, stepping forward. His voice held an air of focus. "I can feel its energy... like it's calling to me." Without hesitation, he dashed toward the ancient blade lodged in the stone.

Gohan's training with Kabito Kai began with ancient techniques designed to push his body to its limits. He stood shirtless, revealing his well-defined abs and muscular physique. With one hand resting on the back of his head, he nodded silently, signaling he was ready for whatever Kabito Kai had planned. The Kai, holding a wooden staff, wasted no time—he swung it hard against Gohan's chest.

The impact sent a sharp pain through Gohan's body, causing him to flinch as his chest burned with the force. He winced, momentarily clutching his chest, but his resolve remained strong. He raised his hands again and nodded once more, determined to endure. Another strike landed on his abs, each blow hardening his body, forcing his muscles to strengthen through sheer resilience.

Kabito Kai then directed Gohan to a bed of nails, instructing him to lay on it, bare-chested, for 30 minutes. Gohan took a deep breath, acknowledging the test of both his mind and body. He carefully lowered himself onto the sharp points, his back flinching as the nails pressed into his skin. Yet, despite the discomfort, he closed his eyes and calmed his mind, focusing on serenity within the pain.

Thirty minutes passed, and Gohan stood up, his back smeared with blood from the piercing nails. But his expression showed no regret—this was part of the process. As a reward, Kabito Kai allowed him to soak in a hot spring. The warm water surrounded him, soothing his torn muscles, while he sipped tea to help his body recover. The brief rest lasted five minutes, but it was enough to rejuvenate him for the next round of training.

Gohan's training grew even more intense. His muscles burned from the constant exertion as Kabito Kai continued the rigorous regimen. The wooden staff struck Gohan's body repeatedly, each blow unleashing a burst of energy that coursed through him. His movements became more precise, more controlled, as the training shaped him into a living weapon.

One scene found him meditating under a powerful waterfall, its crashing waters battering his back and shoulders, but Gohan remained calm, letting the pain sharpen his focus. His mind stayed clear, even in the chaos of the environment. He embraced the struggle, knowing that only through hardship would he reach his true potential.

The final test arrived. Kabito Kai conjured a massive block of Katchin, the hardest material in the universe. Gohan was tasked with breaking it using his bare fists, but Kabito Kai emphasized that it would take more than physical strength. Gohan needed to focus on what was important to him—his purpose.

Meanwhile, Trunks faced his own challenge, standing before the mighty Z Sword. His muscles flexed as he gripped the hilt, his body trembling under the strain. For days, he had tried and failed to pull the blade from the stone, his frustration mounting. Still, he never gave up, no matter how many times his efforts fell short.

Bulma stood by his side, always offering support. "You're getting closer, Trunks. I know you can do it. You've never backed down before, and you won't now."

Trunks looked back at his mother's reassuring smile, drawing strength from her words. The fire in his heart reignited, and he gripped the sword again, harder this time. His muscles bulged as he poured every ounce of power into the task.

"RRRRAHHHH!" Trunks roared, transforming into Super Saiyan 2. Lightning crackled around his golden aura, his power surging to new heights. With a mighty heave, he finally felt the blade give way, breaking free from the stone. The Z Sword gleamed in his hands, surrounded by the brilliant blue electricity of his Super Saiyan form.

Bulma stood speechless, her eyes wide as she saw her son standing triumphantly, the legendary blade in his grasp. His strength had grown beyond what even she had imagined.

Back with Gohan, the test of Katchin pushed him to his limits. His shirtless body, glistening with sweat, was covered in bruises and scars from punching the unbreakable block. His left arm, the one without the robotic enhancements, took the brunt of the damage as he relentlessly pummeled the material. The pain in his knuckles was excruciating with each impact, but Gohan refused to stop. He remembered everything and everyone who mattered.

He thought of the Z Fighters who had fallen—his mentor Piccolo, his mother Chi-Chi, and most of all, his father, Goku, who had succumbed to the heart virus. The memories weighed heavily on his heart, bringing tears to his eyes. But with each tear, a new surge of energy rose inside him.

As he continued to punch, Gohan began to think of Bulma and Trunks—his new family. The thought of protecting them fueled his resolve, sparking a fire deep within. His muscles tightened, his energy spiked. He let out a fierce yell, golden light engulfing him as his power surged to new heights.

With a final roar, Gohan unleashed his power, the energy around him blazing into a golden storm. His punch connected with the Katchin block, and cracks spiderwebbed across its surface. Another shout of fury and focus escaped his lips, and with it, the block shattered completely, exploding into pieces with such force that Kabito Kai had to shield his eyes from the blast.

When the dust settled, Kabito Kai adjusted his gaze, and what he saw left him astonished.

Gohan stood there, breathing heavily, his golden hair now impossibly long, reaching all the way to his ankles. His once-worn body had transformed, radiating an immense and overwhelming power. Gohan had reached a new form—Super Saiyan 3.

His energy was beyond anything Kabito Kai had ever felt. Though Gohan was exhausted, the power within him was undeniable.

"Unbelievable," Kabito Kai muttered in awe. "Gohan… you've done it."

But while they have gotten more powerful, back on Earth Buu's resurrection is almost complete! Will Gohan and the team be able to stop them? Find out next week for another exciting chapter of Future DBZ!
