A/N: This was a fun one, even though it was completely different than what I was originally planning for this prompt (more on that at the end).
Without further ado, let's move on to the reviews and what matters most: the prompt!

Sticks would be in for quite a surprise! She would probably be curious and suspicious all at the same time.

I'm gonna have to look back at that!
Super duper waffles
1. Chuck has told Sonic and his friends about Felicia, although he told Tails first months before everyone else.
2. Amy has not seen The Boys before.
3. Since Lindsey has a lot of friends in high places, she's met all three of them at least once.
4. I would say all the states were equally skeptical of Sonic and his friends to varying degrees until September 2021, when Sonic defeated Eggman during the events of chapter 13.
5. GUN uses official Navy and Air Force vehicles, but it doesn't have its own Navy and Air Force. All recruits are trained in each division equally, although this is subject to change.
6. Only a few people know about CLIP, but otherwise they are a top-secret organization.

I hadn't even thought about roboticzation being closer to surgery when I was writing Chaos on Earth, but I'll keep that in mind when I'm working on Sonic Genesis.

I was hesitant to extend the whumping to Helen as well since this is about Chris, but fortunately that was all a dream and the real Helen is okay.
Day Twenty-Seven: Voiceless
Prompt: "I have no mouth and I must scream"
The city of Station Square seemed to have gotten too comfortable with Eggman finally gone. When Sonic destroyed his E-99 Eggsterminator, the city enjoyed a period of peacetime that had lasted for six months now.
But as Chris was doing his math exams in Mr. Stewart's class, there was no mistaking the drone outside the window and the Eggman emblem it had on the side.
Chris' chest tightened. That could only mean one thing.
"Guys! I just saw an Eggman robot outside!" Chris exclaimed, disrupting the quiet environment of the class. The students were now all talking at once, and several of them scrambled to the window to try to get a look at it. However, it was gone before they got there.
"Where? I don't see it."
"I think it was just a plane."
"Yeah, there's an airport nearby, duh."
Chris felt like he was invalidated. No one was believing him!
"Guys! I know what I saw!" Chris exclaimed. "It had a logo of–"
"Everyone settle down please," Mr. Stewart requested. "Get back in your seats and let's finish this exam. Chris, I would like to see you after class."
Chris' heart sank. He tried to warn his class that Eggman was back, but no one believed him, not even Mr. Stewart. He felt like the biggest fool in the world, even though he knew what he saw. He couldn't tell anyone what he saw either. And now he was going to get in trouble for it.
"Everyone knows Eggman's dead," one of Chris' classmates said.
"Yeah, you're just living in VR or something," another one said.
"Kids, please," Mr. Stewart warned, and it was quiet after that except for a few laughs that Chris knew were directed at him.
The next twenty minutes could not have been any slower. It was finally time for everyone to go to the next class, except for Chris, who approached Mr. Stewart. The teacher glanced at his watch for a moment before looking back at Chris.
"Chris, are you sure you saw one of Eggman's robots outside?" he asked.
"Yes, I'm sure," Chris said earnestly, looking at him right in the eyes.
"Okay, and you know how dangerous and reckless it is to yell fire in a crowded theater like that? I'm not saying you did, but it's been six months since anyone saw any sign of Eggman."
"I know, but Sonic said that sometimes Eggman will hide for a long time before he comes back out of nowhere," Chris pleaded.
"I see," Mr. Stewart replied, before he nodded in the direction of the doorway. "Now off you go. You don't want to be late for your next class."
As Chris left, Mr. Stewart checked to make sure he was alone in the classroom, before looking at his Apple watch again. He had sent a message to mission control to ask if there had been any sign of Eggman today. However, he saw that he had gotten a reply back that none of the cameras placed around the city had detected Eggman or his robots.
However, that changed hours later when school was being let out, when he got a message that confirmed the presence of one of Eggman's robots on the south side of the city.
He immediately ran toward the front doors to try to find Chris.
"Chris! Wait!" he called as he ran out the front door, but Chris was already on his bicycle heading down the street. He hadn't heard him, and he knew that Chris had not been able to get the word out. Not only that, but word was quickly spreading throughout the school that Chris was a liar.
He knew that Chris was not the kind of person who would stir up panic for no reason.
Chris really did see an Eggman robot, and everyone laughed at him.
He stepped back inside and looked for the nearest vacant restroom. When he stepped inside, he checked to make sure it was empty before checking his contact list on his watch. He tapped a button to call Thorndyke Mansion.
"Professor Chuck Thorndyke speaking, how can I help you?"
Making sure to disguise his voice first, Mr. Stewart spoke.
"Hello Professor, this is urgent. As soon as Chris gets back home, tell him to stay at home. Eggman has returned."
There was a pause on the other end.
"I'm sorry, what? Who is this?"
"It doesn't matter," Mr. Stewart told him.
"No, tell me. Or else I'm going to start thinking that you ask people about their car's extended warranty."
Mr. Stewart sighed, but he made sure Chuck couldn't hear him.
"I… work in the tech firm," he stated firmly. "I was doing routine maintenance on the cell towers and I happened to see one of Eggman's robots hovering nearby. It's probably a probe."
"I'll have you know that this phone automatically records phone calls. If this is a prank call, I will send this to the police!" Chuck threatened.
I am the police, Mr. Stewart thought for a fleeting moment, but of course he didn't say that out loud. I'm gonna have to play this carefully. He doesn't believe me, just like the whole school didn't believe Chris.
"Then pass this information on to Sonic," he told Chuck. "Tell him Eggman is back. He knows the doctor better than anyone in this whole country. He knows how he acts, he'll know if this is a sign of his return."
But Chuck was still not buying it.
"I am not warning Sonic over something that could be false for all I know! Prove to me that this is not a prank call!"
Mr. Stewart thought for a moment. It would be much easier if the information came from someone Chuck knew. But if he hung up and called him again in his normal voice, then he would get suspicious.
"If you call this number again, I will find out where you live and you will face the consequences of your actions!" Chuck said.
Mr. Stewart realized there was nothing more he could do, so with no other choice, he hung up. He knew that Sonic and his friends were out of town, and he didn't have direct access to them.
Besides himself, Chris was once again the only one who knew of Eggman's imminent return.
A/N: That concludes day 27! Shoutout to elprovchico for helping out with this prompt! It was his idea for Chuck to remain suspicious so that the prompt could continue.
I wrote this whole story in about an hour, so it's probably not my best work, but at least I get to say Mr. Stewart appeared in Whumptober.
I was originally going to have this be a lighthearted prompt focusing on the title prompt where Chris and his friends go out to get ice cream, except Chris had completely lost his voice earlier and his friends talk for him. However, as much as I still like that idea, I don't think it's fully in my expertise, but if I expand my horizons, I could probably tackle this idea again sometime later.
Tomorrow's theme is "Denial!"
