*Uni's Pov*
I didn't plan on talking to him so soon, but… Might be a good chance to figure him out a little bit.
Just looking at him he seems to be average height, no outstanding features of any kind, and his personality is…like Neptune's maybe? I'd like to figure out what Nepgear…I mean Lily, sees in him.
"Are you just gonna stand there and stare at me or…?" Urgg, what do I say?
For the meantime I'll just sit down and hope something comes to mind.
"Hey." Unfortunately for me, he's a bit quicker on the draw. "I heard you used to date my wife."
My wife. He says it so matter of factly that it kind of hurts. I don't know how he feels about me, so I don't know if he has any malice or not. But, I'm not about to back down.
"Yeah, I did. For a few years actually. It was actually getting pretty serious."
"Hmmm." His facial expression stayed the same. Isn't he bothered by it? I mean, we did…quite a bit in that time.
"We were fairly…um…close before. We did everything together." Now it just seems like I'm trying to get him jealous! Ughh, not according to plan. But, I just can't help it. He took her from me, of course I'm upset!
"I see, sounds like you guys had quite the thing going for you." Doesn't he get it?
"We went on dates every weekend!"
"How cute."
"We could spend forever just making out!"
"Spicy stuff."
"I've even seen her naked, you know!?" Woah!? What am I saying to this guy!? That's too f-
"Niiiiceeee." Or not?
"Why don't you care? Is she not important to you? If not, then I'll gladly take your place."
He just gave me a bewildered look and burst out laughing. Is he laughing at me? I don't get him. But, I do get that he's pissing me off.
"What's so funny!?"
After a few seconds, his face snapped back to how it was before. Disinterested.
"It's funny that you came to talk about this at all." Wha?
"What the hell do you mean by that!?"
He sighed and shrugged.
"I do not care about your relationship with 'Nepgear'. It has nothing to do with me. 'Nepgear' is dead, 'Lily' is not.
"Dead!? She's right here! In this building! You apparently married her!" This asshole…
"No, the one I married is 'Lily'. I thought that you acknowledged that fact already? 'Nepgear' has been dead for years."
He readjusts himself in his seat and looks out the window and gives an exasperated sigh.
"I mean, Neptune realized almost immediately that they weren't the same, but she accepted her anyway."
You're lying.
"The other CPU's will probably take some time to accept it but… They are not the same."
"She just needs help to regain her memories!" This is wrong…
"I tried that already, at this point, the doctors suggest that she live her life anew." I don't like this…
*slam* I bang my fist on the table between us, hoping it'll shut him up. But…
"My advice would be to move on and forget about 'Nepgear'. I'll take care of 'Lily', I can promise you that."
"You!" Just because he's known 'Lily' for a few years!
"I've waited all this time for her to come back! You want me to just forget!?" How dare he!
"It doesn't really matter what you do. Unless Lily becomes concerned about you, I couldn't care less. Just try not to bother us too much."
"Bother you!?"
"Yeah, like right now? If possible, could you leave? I don't enjoy your company."
He hardly even looked at me at all during our whole conversation. There is no malice in his words or actions. Just…indifference. He really doesn't care at all. That's almost worse than malice.
"Fine, I'll leave." I stand up and clench my fist.
"Much thank-" I chamber my fist and let it loose in the direction of his face. He notices the movement and stands up and it connects with his stomach.
I hear a dull sound as he gets sent flying into the wall behind him and a crash as he hits the wall and Neptune's gaming consoles.
"What was that sound!?" Histoire comes flying in from outside and notices the damage.
"You can bill me later." Is all I say as I leave out the front door.
What an asshole!
There's no way I can leave Nepgear to him!
*Back at the Neptune's Room*
A little blonde fairy is scrambling to process what she is seeing "Hawawawwawaawaa!?"
While an unfazed Lan is stuck in the wall, blood dripping down his face. "Hmm, I might have said that wrong."
Come on Lan! Surely you knew this would happen! This chapter I wanted to get a more outsiders look on Lan's personality. When it comes to Lily, or things she cares about, he is doting and goofy. To someone like Uni though, he is indifferent and even cold. Just the way he be. This chapter was a lot shorter. Mostly because I can't imagine they would talk long before Uni kicked his ass. Which is what happened. You get what you deserve buddy. He has a point, but man did he deliver it worse than my Uber driver delivering my 8 large cups of water. Anyway, can't wait to see how the gang reacts to his "situation". Nighty folks.
