Leaving The Mountain Ranges

Just before morning came, Sunset Shimmer was the first to wake up. She left the tent and looked out at the raising sun. "Wow," she's thought, "What an amazing sunrise. Is this the power of Princess Celestia?"

Sunset Shimmer was ready to go, but she knew that she had to wait for her hiking pal, Odyssey. "Hmm," thought Sunset Shimmer, "I wonder what I can do until she gets up?" Soon, Sunset Shimmer thought of something.

An hour later, Odyssey got up. "What in Equestria?" she exclaimed. She could see that Sunset Shimmer had already made breakfast. "Did I actually pack you pancake mix into your bag?" asked Odyssey. "Maybe," said Sunset Shimmer. "And you got eggs from the fridge," said Odyssey, "But how?"

"How did I start a fire?" Sunset Shimmer completed Odyssey's question, "I used my magic. I am a unicorn after all. This fire magic, must have came with my cutie mark, or actually, before that."

"I see," replied Odyssey. "I've spent the whole morning making these," said Odyssey, "Come on, let's get something for breakfast before we set off." "All right," said Odyssey, "Why did I put pancake mix into her pack in the first place?"

After the two unicorns had pancakes for breakfast, they were both ready to start their journey back down the mountain. "Ready!" said Sunset Shimmer. "Well, first of all," said Odyssey, using her magic to put Sunset Shimmer's hiking equipment on, "Be ready once again!"

"Oh, right," said Sunset Shimmer, meekly, "Safety first." "Right," said Odyssey, "Then let us be off together!" "Right," agreed Sunset Shimmer.

The two unicorns started their journey down the mountain. Whenever they came to a dangerous part of the trail, they took another path.

One time, Odyssey stopped Sunset Shimmer on a path, otherwise, she would have been hit by a rockslide. "That was close!" Sunset Shimmer said, watching the rocks careering down the mountainside. "Close call is right," said Odyssey, "Let's choose another path." They did. In the form of a zip-line.

"Ready?" asked Odyssey, securing Sunset Shimmer to a harness. "Yes," replied Sunset Shimmer. "So zip-line away," exclaimed Odyssey, "Zip, zip, zip!" She pushed Sunset Shimmer and she zipped across the high raven.

"This is fun!" said Sunset Shimmer out loud. When she got to the other side, it was Odyssey's turn to zip along the raven. "Here I come!" she said, and she made it across safely. "That was so fun," said Sunset Shimmer, "Can we do it again?" "Eh, no," answered Odyssey. So the two ponies continued on their path.

It was way past afternoon when both Sunset Shimmer and Odyssey got back down to normal ground. "Thanks," said Sunset Shimmer, "For the trip. I couldn't have made it without you."

"No problem," smiled Odyssey. "Maybe I should have fun like that sometime in the future," said Sunset Shimmer. "By the way," said Odyssey, "You're quiet brave to be hiking in these mountains for your age, Sunset Shimmer." "Well, I am older than 17, you know," Sunset Shimmer said with a chuckle.

"All right," smiled Odyssey. "Well, I must go home now," said Sunset Shimmer. "And I should get back home, too," said Odyssey, "Take care!" And the two ponies left for home.

But was nearly sundown when Sunset Shimmer finally made it to her home.
