The Darkness
The day after Sunset Shimmer went hiking in the mountain ranges for two days, she decided to do something simpler for a change. "Ok," she said, "Now what to do today? I have all day today."
Of course, despite helping her out in the mountain ranges in the past two days, Sunset Shimmer never thought about Odyssey at all. Not even once. She'd never bothered to even communicate with her.
Nonetheless, Sunset Shimmer started her day alone as usual.
"Actually," she said, "Today is a really quiet day." Or so she'd thought. She continued walking down along her path. But soon, that is about to change.
As Sunset Shimmer continued walking, on her way, she chose to stop by a rocky base. "Hmm," thought Sunset Shimmer, looking at a path through the rocky base, "I wonder if I should go this way. I will."
So she walked down that path and that's when things started to go weird for Sunset Shimmer, or actually dark for her.
"Hmm," thought Sunset Shimmer, "Strange that it's getting dark early in the morning. Wait, early in the morning?!" Slowly, the light faded away until there was nothing but darkness. "Hey, who turned out the light?" asked Sunset Shimmer.
Soon, Sunset Shimmer was surrounded by darkness. "What is going on here?" asked Sunset Shimmer, "Is this some kind of joke because this one isn't funny!" There was no reply.
"Come on!" she said out loud. She got no reply. So she used her horn to light the place. But she is the only one who is visible as there was nothing around her but darkness. "Uh oh," said Sunset Shimmer, "That doesn't feel good."
Not only she was in complete darkness, but also, there was a dark feeling surrounding Sunset Shimmer as well. "Whew!" she exclaimed, "Is it just me, or did it suddenly get chilly all of the sudden?"
Next, there was an eerie sound. "What's that?" she shrieked in response to the sound. It sounds like nothing in Equestria. "That is really unnatural on every level!" called Sunset Shimmer, scared.
The eerie sounds continued on. "I really mean it!" shouted Sunset Shimmer, "This is not funny ever!"
The eerie sounds continued, this time, they've started to get even louder. "Ok," Sunset Shimmer, "I want to get out! I want to go home!" Sunset Shimmer started to run around all over the place, but she ended up going nowhere.
She became lost in the darkness. But what she saw next was unimaginable. What appears to be glowing red eyes started to appear all over the place. Also, the eerie noises started to get even louder. "This is not good!" said Sunset Shimmer, "I really want to get out!"
She tried to run away from the direction of the glowing eyes.
But she ended up encountering something even worse. "What's that?" she asked. How to describe what Sunset Shimmer is seeing is really terrifying to look at. "I really want to get out of here now!" cried Sunset Shimmer.
The next thing that had happened, Sunset Shimmer ended up right back where she originally started, back at the rock base. Sunset Shimmer was stunned and speechless at what had happened.
"Hey, there," a pony said, walking by, "Looks like you've seen a monster. In this kind of place. Balderdash!" Sunset Shimmer did not answer.
Instead she slowly got up and very slowly, she limped back home.
She limped so slowly that it became sundown when she got back home. "Maybe I need to sleep all day tomorrow," Sunset Shimmer said to herself, still terrified. What she had saw will never leave her mind.
