Oxford Not Brogues
Chapter Two
As the three monsters stood before Sir Integra's desk "listening" to the orders they were being given, all three of them didn't pay the slightest bit of attention. The Hellsing's voice drowned away in the background while Alucard and Sebastian subtly stared at Seras from the corner of their eyes. The little vampire was, surprisingly, ignoring the Hellsing. Rather it was intentional or not was unknown. The Police Girl looked completely lost in her thoughts as she stared at the floor. There was a frown on her face and her eyes betrayed her by showing what she actually felt. All they could see was absolute misery. They couldn't comprehend why she looked so lost and upset. It was so unlike her. The man she was with really must have disappointed her. Speaking of which, they never meant to push her into the arms of another man. Has she developed feelings for this particular man? Is that why she's so upset because she found out he didn't have feelings for her in return? Did this man use her? It angered the two monsters that someone may have broken the Draculina's heart and had only used her, or at least this what they assumed.
They wanted to console their mate, but how could they do that? Seras was oblivious to their feelings or the fact that they were her mates. Since turning her, both men have been...Well, timid. They had a difficult time conversing with her or even being near her. They came to find that...they were vulnerable in her presence, which was a completely new feeling for the both of them. And no matter how badly they wanted to just be beside her, they haven't exactly found the courage yet. What would she even say if she found out? Would she be...alright with it? Would she be open minded to it and may even have been harboring her feelings for them? Or would she be sickened? What step did they have to take? How can they reveal their feelings while trying to win her over? Was this other man of hers going to be an issue? Was he competition? Sebastian's eyes flickered down to look at the item she was clutching in her hand. His brows furrowed together when making out a bit of light pink fabric. What on earth was she holding? Seras unexpectedly moved, causing Sebastian's eyes to flicker to her face. He found her staring directly at him with a look of uncertainty in her sad eyes. That's when he realized that Sir Integra was speaking to him and Alucard. Quickly, the demon faced forward to look at the fierce Hellsing. His brain replayed the entire briefing in his head in only a matter of seconds. He then lightly bowed his head to her.
"Consider it done." Sebastian responded before stealing a glance at the small blonde once more. Seras' gaze was elsewhere, but that same miserable look was still there on her face. The Draculina then turned on her heel and started making her way out of the Hellsing's office. Both men jolted when seeing that she was on the move and were quick to follow like puppy dogs. Sir Integra seemed to have noticed and understood their odd behavior because she laughed under her breath. They ignored the Hellsing, even though they were dismayed by how obvious it was that they were utterly enamored of Seras.
"How are we transporting?" The little vampire softly, disrupting their train of thought. The males blinked before glancing down at her curiously. When they didn't immediately answer, she further explained. "Are we taking a vehicle or are we just going to...Whatever it is that Mas-" Seras cut herself off. Of course, the males were quick to realize that she had an issue calling him master. Why? Just yesterday she said it with no problem. In fact, she hasn't said anything negative or given any reason why she shouldn't call him master.
"We'll materialize there." Alucard answered a moment later.
"Is there something bothering you, Miss. Victoria?" Sebastian asked as the three walked down the hall towards weaponry.
"No," Seras answered immediately, the tone of her voice told them differently. She was most definitely hiding something.
"You seem off and unusually quiet." The demon noted out loud.
"I'm fine." She whispered. "Just tired," She added quickly but kept her head lowered. It was quite possible that she was tired from...fooling around with another man. But something told Alucard and Sebastian that she was just using that as an excuse to hide what she was truly feeling. "I'll meet you both in weaponry." She murmured as she stopped outside a restroom. "I just want to wash up a little."
"Don't be long." Alucard ordered before he and Michaelis continued on their way.
"Yes, Sir." The Draculina responded with a nod and then she slipped into the restroom.
"What did she have tucked away in her hand?" The elder vampire asked the second they were alone. "I know that you got a glimpse of it. What was it?"
"I'm unsure." The demon admitted softly. "From what I could tell it's made out of pink fabric."
"What would she be trying to hide?" Alucard asked with an arched brow. "And what the hell was she thinking sleeping with someone? I didn't take her for someone who sleeps with a person she barely even knows."
"She was also struggling making friends with the humans. How did she find someone to bed so quickly?" Sebastian added.
"I don't know, but we have to make a move now. We can't let this other male get in our way." The No Life King stated as he entered weaponry. All he really needed was a few magazines for his gun. Other than that he was set. Since Seras was absent, Sebastian walked over to the stand that held all types of rifles. He picked the one she seemed to favor the most.
"It's easier said than done, Alucard. Thus far we haven't been able to properly communicate with Miss. Victoria. We act like utter fools in her presence. Honestly, it would be surprising if she didn't already know that we were head over heels in love with her. Everyone else seems to know." The demon proceeded while he grabbed a couple of magazines for her rifle.
"It's been a rough first week for her." Alucard responded with a sigh. "She's trying to get used to this new life and it's not helping any that she's being shunned by the humans." He then frowned. "She's too preoccupied to realize our feelings, and it's not like we've been forward with her about them either."
"I know," Sebastian muttered.
"It's time that we were." Alucard added. "We should attempt discussing it with her tonight." The demon stared at him in bewilderment. He felt like it was too soon, but considering that Seras had gone to bed with another man, perhaps Alucard was right. Perhaps it was time that they did make a move and revealed their feelings. The Police Girl then strolled into weaponry, causing both men to stiffen. It was such a natural reaction for them anymore whenever she was near. They couldn't help it, she made them simultaneously nervous and ever so excited. However, they were quick to notice that both of her hands were now empty. So, she got rid of the evidence while she was in the restroom. There was no way she could have flushed it down the toilet, meaning she must have buried the evidence in the trash bin. Sebastian was beyond tempted to go fishing in that trash just to see what she discarded. Perhaps later. But there was something else about the Police Girl that they noticed. Her deep, dark red eyes now swirled with fury, pain, and hatred. What the hell happened? She looked like she was trying to keep from crying while she trembled in anger. The demon cautiously walked over to the small blonde to hand her the rifle and extra magazines.
"Thanks," She murmured and placed the magazines in her ammo pouch.
"Are you alright?" Sebastian asked once more, but immediately earned such a dark look from the girl.
"I'm fine!" Seras exclaimed. The lie was so clear in her ferocious eyes. What was she lying about? Alucard and Sebastian were both anxious to know. "Let's just get this over with. I'm dying for that shower." They were sure that she was. She smelled strongly of sex and it was only driving the monsters crazier knowing that someone else touched her.
For once, Alucard and Sebastian felt utterly useless on a mission. The second they appeared at the destination, before either of them could even prepare to move or make an attack, Seras was already in action. The fury in her eyes grew while they burned so menacingly. Her teeth, razor sharp from her rage, were gritted tightly. That little monster threw aside her rifle and started slaughtering left and right without a moment of hesitation. She tore through the small army of ghouls like it was nothing. She elegantly moved down the narrow hallway, letting her nails tear through victim after victim. Blood splattered onto walls, pooled on the floor, and coated her hands and face. As she went they could hear her growling and snarling like a deranged animal. Alucard and Sebastian were just left standing there with wide eyes full of disbelief. Holy fuck. They were unsure if they should be highly aroused or severely concerned. It was definitely a mixture of the two. They decided to be concerned when their mate unexpectedly started to cry.
Blood tears ran down her pale cheeks while her bottom lip trembled. But not once did she break her stride. She thrust her hand through a ghoul's stomach and disemboweled him in one swift move. With another, she snapped his neck, managing to spin his head nearly all the way around. Another, she punched him so hard that his head practically exploded from the impact. Seras was just so full of rage. It felt like her beast was pounding on her skull as she too cried her eyes out and snarled. She wanted to forget. She just wanted to forget. Why couldn't she? Her skin crawled from the constant reminder of what happened only half an hour ago. She could still feel his touch; still feel his fingers digging into her arm and his hot breath on her neck. It still felt like his cock was buried deep inside of her. She hated it! She hated him! She hated herself! But above all, she hated that she had no one to talk to. She had no one to tell because who the fuck would believe her? She was a monster and he was a well respected soldier. Words that kept echoing in her head. She was alone. Before she even realized that she was doing it, Seras was sobbing loudly. She opened her tear filled eyes only to see the massacre she had caused. Blood was splashed everywhere and body parts littered the floor. She was just about covered in blood and torn flesh. Honestly, that felt better than what was between her legs, sticking to her and swimming deep inside of her. That thought made her cry harder.
"Fuck," She sobbed softly while she tried gaining back her composure. She took deep breaths to try and help calm her down, but it didn't work. "Why do they hate us?!" Seras couldn't keep from asking her mentors.
"What?" Alucard whispered. He was bewildered by her outburst. His heart thumped hard out of sympathy when hearing his mate cry. Why couldn't she just tell them what was bothering her? Who hated them? Wasn't she getting along with the humans? Didn't she just lay with one? His Draculina turned and for the first time tonight she actually looked at them, right in the eye.
"Why do humans hate us? Why are we villains in their eyes?" She asked them through her sobs. Seeing those large tears roll down her face greatly bothered Alucard and Sebastian. Without thinking, the males moved down that blood soaked hallway towards their bawling mate. She tried desperately to wipe her tears away, but she was crying too hard and too much to take care of every single tear that came.
"Seras," Alucard whispered her name with a frown. He had no real answer for her, but the obvious one. The humans hated them because they were monsters and that scared the mortals. And after what Seras just did with her bare hands, it was appropriate for the humans to be terrified of them. He didn't tell her any of this though because he didn't want to further upset her. Instead, when he reached her, he cupped the side of her face into his large hand. Seras allowed him to brush her tears away with his thumb. She took comfort in his gentleness. Feeling a little more soothed by their presence, the little vampire closed her eyes and focused on evening out her breathing. But closing her eyes, all she could see was Ryan's face. She could just imagine the smug look on his face now while he enjoyed his steak dinner and his pint of beer after violating a helpless woman. Was he really so pleased with himself? How many other women has he done this to? Unable to help herself, Seras threw herself at her master. She wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face in his chest. She wanted to hide herself away and her master's arms seemed the best place to do it. The Draculina cried freely, and despite her feeling pain and anger, she also took great comfort being in his arms. His scent and warmth was pleasant and almost made her feel completely relaxed. At first, Alucard was shocked that Seras had jumped into his arms and started crying. But, naturally, he wrapped his arms around her to help console his little mate. "Seras," He whispered and leaned down a little to bury his nose in her hair. He kept her small shaking form crushed to his body. "Will you tell us what is wrong now?" Because she was crying so hard, she couldn't properly answer. So she merely shook her head. "Why won't you?"
"Just fuck him!" Seras shouted as she clung to him more. Her hands fisted his coat tightly as she tried pulling him closer. "Fuck him! I hate him!"
"Who?" Sebastian questioned.
"The man you slept with?" Alucard asked with an arched brow. His mate stiffened in his arms then. Her crying temporarily stopped out of pure shock. "Did he break your heart?" Her master asked, genuinely sounding concerned as his thumb brushed over her back. Alucard and Sebastian waited a full minute for her to answer. But she didn't and her crying stopped completely. Slowly, the girl pulled out of his arms and took a step back. Her hands immediately went up to wipe away her tears, none of them acknowledging the wet marks on Alucard's suit from her crying. Seras sniffed a couple of times as she successfully cleaned her face of her tears. "Seras, what is going on?"
"Nothing," She answered softly. "It was nothing. I'm...better now." That didn't sound very convincing.
"What were you talking about, Miss. Victoria?" Sebastian pushed. "Who do you hate?" Seras then looked up at them with a begging look in her eyes.
"Please, forget it. It is nothing, so don't worry about it. I was...just being stupid." She tried to convince them. Alucard and Sebastian weren't buying it, but decided not to press the matter.
"Well, if you ever do wish to talk about it, you can talk to us any time." The demon assured her.
"We will always be here for you." Alucard emphasized, though it didn't immediately click for her what exactly he was hinting at.
"How about being a little more forward, Alucard?" Sebastian advised.
"What?" Seras questioned with a confused look.
"The man you were with tonight. Will you have any further affiliation with him?" Alucard asked. Shamefully, the girl dropped her gaze to stare at the floor.
"No, definitely not." Seras whispered. She prayed to God she wouldn't at least. What would she do if Ryan ever tried 'affiliating' with her again?
"Then it's safe to say that you are...available?" The demon asked. The little vampire's eyes widened and she looked up at them. Not believing what he just asked her, her mouth fell open.
"Excuse me?" She responded in a broken voice. Her reaction caused the men to frown. This was not going well in the slightest so far.
"I hope I didn't offend you. That wasn't my intention." Sebastian was quick to say. "I apologize."
"I don't understand." Seras admitted. "What are you asking?" Alucard sighed then.
"We are unconditionally enamored with you and wholly devoted to you." The No Life King revealed to her. Tears welled up in Seras' eyes, but they were unable to tell if they were tears of joy or fear. Instinctively, the small blonde hid her mouth behind her hand while she tried to prevent from crying. "You are our mate and we want nothing more but to prove how mad we are for you and earn your love. Become ours, become our queen and let us spoil you." However, his words were not comforting his mate at all. She was starting to cry again, though she was trying hard not to. It bothered them when she kept shaking her head. But this didn't stop Alucard, he proceeded to try and persuade her. "The man you gave your heart, soul, and body to has done nothing but hurt you." His mate cried harder, but managed to bite back sobs. "He is the cause of your tears and your pain. Forget him. Let us console you." He opened his arms, hoping she would fall back into them. But she didn't accept his invitation. Instead, she took another step back away from them while frequently shaking her head. "Please, Seras."
"This is too much." The little vampire whispered. "Too much has gone on tonight, I can't comprehend it all."
"It's alright," Sebastian attempted to soothe her. "Talk to us. Tell us what is bothering you. Perhaps we can help."
"No!" Seras blurted. The last thing she wanted to do was involve Alucard and Sebastian. God, what would they think of her? They would be disgusted and see how weak and worthless she actually was! Or, if they truly did love her, they would be enraged and slaughter Ryan. While that sounded extremely enticing, Seras couldn't sic Alucard and Sebastian onto a human, especially a soldier of the Hellsing Organization! They would be severely punished and it would be her fault! She just couldn't do that to them. "I can't handle this tonight. I'm sorry!" Seras took another step back. It stunned her to actually see how wounded Alucard and Sebastian looked from her rejection. "I'm sorry." She continued to lightly shake her head. "I understand...how difficult it probably was to...finally tell me all of this. But please try and understand that tonight is not a good night for this. I can't wrap my head around it. Everything that's happened...that is happening, it's all so overwhelming."
"Alright," Sebastian assured her, though they couldn't understand because she refused to tell them all that had happened. She was getting worked up though and was probably on the verge of a panic attack. So, they will stop for her sake.
"We don't have to discuss it tonight, Seras. We can wait to discuss this. Maybe then you will tell us what is truly bothering you." Alucard added.
"I'm sorry," Seras repeated.
"Stop apologizing." The demon laughed with a small, handsome smile on his lips. "You currently have a lot on your plate. Alucard and I can wait patiently until you have everything sorted out."
"Thank you...for understanding." The Draculina whispered.
"We're not going anywhere. We're here for you, morning, noon, and night, whenever you need us." Alucard promised.
After returning to the Hellsing Organization and reporting to Sir Integra, Seras took an incredibly long, scorching hot shower. She frantically and quite violently scrubbed every inch of herself at least three times, especially between her legs. She scrubbed until the skin was raw and the hot water made her skin puffy and red. And no matter how much she washed herself, she still couldn't escape the man's ghostly touch. The feeling of him was all over and his scent lingered, though it was most likely all in her head. After being in the shower for over an hour, Seras emerged feeling no better. She still felt unclean. The small blonde struggled not to think about it and kept fighting not to cry. She just wanted to move on with her life. Was it even possible at this point? Will she forever go about life with the feeling that her violator was now a part of her? Will she eventually forget? Drying herself off and putting on fresh clothing, it wasn't too long after when the Draculina found herself pacing her room. Seras had no idea what to do with herself. The sun will be rising soon and she should be crawling into her coffin or bed, but she felt like she wouldn't be able to sleep. So much adrenaline was still running through her. She couldn't ease her mind or body at all. The little vampire bit her thumb nail as she glanced over her shoulder at her bed. It really dawned on her how...alone she was. What was stopping Ryan from coming down here to do what he did to her again? What if he came while she was asleep, when she can't even defend herself? Though, that didn't really do her any good before. He put a gun to her head and forced her to keep still and quiet as he violated her. People were probably walking around out in the hall and were utterly oblivious to what was going on in the training room.
Here she was isolated from the humans and her master, more so than before. The closest person to her was Sebastian. He was just a couple of doors down from her. But yet, she still felt unsafe and vulnerable. If Ryan did come for her, she couldn't depend on Sebastian or even Alucard. They would kill Ryan, and Sir Integra would react in the worst way possible. The Hellsing would probably lock them away in the dungeons for God knows how long. Maybe starve them. Or torture them! Would she go so far just to punish Alucard and Sebastian for killing a human? If she would, what would she do? No! Seras didn't even want to think about what she would do to them! Not to mention, what Sir Integra would do to her if she believes that Seras is lying about being raped. God, who would ever believe that a vampire was raped by a fucking human? It didn't matter if she was just a fledgling, it was still laughable she was sure, in some people's eyes, that a human took advantage of her. And there's no way Sir Integra would believe Alucard and Sebastian killed a human just to protect her. They were already seen as lying, manipulative monsters that were dying to shed mortal blood. Seras bit down harder on her thumb nail. If Ryan came for her, Seras would have to be as silent as a fucking church mouse just to keep from alerting Alucard and Sebastian. She would just do as Ryan says and let him get it done and over with so he could leave faster. Her mentors will never have to know or get involved, meaning they would stay safe from the Hellsing's wrath. The little vampire stopped her pacing to drop into a low crouch. She ran her fingers through her hair and groaned as she mentally prepared herself for the horrors that may repeat themselves. Please don't show up. Please, leave her alone. Just leave her alone. Never bother her again. Don't even look her way. He got what he wanted, he doesn't need her again. Please, leave her alone forever.
"No," Seras whispered. Her fingers slipped out of her hair as she lifted her gaze to look at the door. Who said she had to be a sitting duck? Why should she wait in fear for that man to show or not? She didn't have to be alone. The girl slowly turned her head to look at the phone on top of her desk. Alucard was most likely asleep, but Sebastian was a demon. His kind rarely ever slept. She recalled him telling her that it was only necessary for him to sleep when he was injured, but there are times they sleep just for pleasure. Was he possibly awake? Could he...stay with her until, or even, while she slept? The girl frowned. Was it right of her to ask that of him after she rejected him and Alucard only an hour ago? Then again, they both said that they would be there for her whenever she needed them. It felt wrong taking advantage of their offer, but she really needed to be around someone right now. Seras climbed to her feet as she stared intently at the phone. Her conscience was the only thing that kept her from storming over there to dial Sebastian's number. What right did she have to ask him for anything after rejecting him? But if he loves her then...he would want to make sure she was okay, right? And she didn't totally reject them. She acknowledged their feelings and told them that they could discuss it later. Tonight just wasn't the night to do it. It would be alright if she called him then and asked him to...come to her room to sit with her? God, she hoped that she wasn't leading him on. Taking a deep breath, the small blonde hesitantly walked across the room towards the desk. It should be okay that she was doing this. She kept reminding herself. They can start working on their questionable relationship without having to go over the actual details. There was nothing wrong with two friends sitting together and talking. It was completely harmless. Unlike Ryan, she trusted Alucard and Sebastian fully. Thinking about that was a little sad. She could trust a demon completely not to violate her while she had to be worried about humans raping her? How fucked up. Seras finally picked the phone off the hook. The little vampire licked over her lips nervously while she narrowed her eyes on the info that told her the exact button that would connect her to the demon's bedroom line. "Please, don't be busy." She whispered. Pressing the third grey button, she heard the familiar ringing. The girl immediately stiffened while her heart raced in her chest. "Okay," She breathed as she waited anxiously for someone to answer.
"Miss. Victoria?" Sebastian answered on the third ring. Seras opened her mouth to respond, but no words came. Seconds ticked by with absolute silence between them. "Is everything alright?" He asked, sounding concerned now. Her mouth remained open as she fought to figure out what to say. "Seras?" He used her name. Her eyes burned with fresh tears and she lowered her head.
"Sebastian," She whispered.
"Seras, what's wrong?" The demon asked.
"Were you asleep?" She asked him softly.
"No." He assured her. "What is it? Are you okay?" He asked hastily, sounding so concerned for her wellbeing.
"Are you busy?" She asked.
"No, no." He answered. "Not at all. Do you need something?"
"I'm sorry for bothering you. I'm so sorry, especially after...what happened on our mission. I'm sorry." Seras told him.
"There's no need to apologize. Alucard and I understand, we're not upset with you." Sebastian responded. "Now, you're not bothering me. What is it that you need? What can I do for you?"
"It's going to sound stupid." She murmured.
"It won't." He whispered.
"I don't want to be alone right now. Could you...come to my room and...sit with me for a while?" She asked. Before getting a response, she continued. "I know it's stupid, and you don't have to if you don't want to. I just...I'm sorry."
"Will you stop apologizing?" Sebastian snickered from directly behind her. Seras jumped and quickly turned to look at him. The demon was smiling softly at her with a tender look in his eyes. Did he not hang up his phone? She currently wasn't hearing a dial tone and yet, here he was standing in front of her. He gingerly removed the phone from her hand and hung it open. "I'm surprised you're not asleep."
"I couldn't relax." She whispered as she folded her arms over her chest. "You're going to think it's stupid, but...I'm scared to be alone." The demon's smile faltered slightly.
"Why is that?" He asked, wondering if it had anything to do with her behavior from earlier. However, his mate ignored the question.
"Will you stay with me?" Seras asked. She was afraid to ask him to stay with her all day while she slept. But she was just as afraid to ask him to stay with her until she fell asleep. How will she be able to rest knowing he'll leave the second she passes out from exhaustion? Maybe they could stay up and just...talk or something? That way he was with her all day and she didn't have to worry about him leaving her alone.
"Of course," Sebastian answered with a nod. "I recommend that you try to sleep, Miss. Victoria."
"Seras," The little vampire corrected him with a small smile. The demon looked at her in surprise when she granted him permission to use her first name. "Considering what happened on our mission, I think we can be on a first name basis." Sebastian snickered and the smile on his face widened some.
"Then, Seras, I recommend that you get some sleep. It seems like you've had a very long, tiring day. It must have been emotionally draining for you and made you utterly exhausted." The demon purred.
"I honestly don't even know if I will be able to sleep." Seras sighed as she rubbed over her face.
"I'll help you, whatever it takes." Sebastian promised her. "I'll stay as long as you would like." He must have said something right because his mate looked utterly relieved for the first time in hours. The demon was happily surprised when Seras stepped forward to wrap her arms around him. Automatically, he hugged her to him.
"Thank you, Sebastian." His mate whispered as she tiredly rested her head on his chest. Now knowing that he was willing to stay the entire day with her eased her a great deal. She believed that she could now sleep peacefully.
"How about I read to you until you fall asleep? Sebastian suggested. "It may help relax you."
"That actually sounds really nice." She responded with a small smile. "I don't think I can handle anything too heavy at the moment. What book did you have in mind?" One of the demon's hands slipped from her lower back to hold it out. A thick book with a white cover and black lettering appeared in his open hand.
"How about the Devil Wears Prada?" He asked. Unexpectedly, his mate got a real kick out of that. As she laughed, Seras took a step back out of his arms. She covered her mouth with a hand to stifle her laughter while she stared up at him with such a look of amusement. Sebastian stared at her in mild surprise for laughing, but he was far too engrossed by that old sparkle in her eyes. He hadn't seen it all night. Good to see that she was back to herself for now.
"I needed a good laugh. Thank you for that." Seras replied then. But the demon only looked more confused.
"What was funny?" He asked before he showed her the copy of the book in his hand. "I was being serious." The girl stared at it for a long few seconds before glancing up at him.
"I am beyond shocked that you actually have a copy of that book. A demon who actually wears Prada favors the book the Devil Wears Prada? That's bizarre. I just cannot imagine you reading this." Seras admitted before she took the book to read the summary. It was the demon's turn to laugh.
"It's not my copy, Seras. It actually belongs to Sir Integra." Sebastian responded, capturing the Draculina's attention immediately.
"Shut up!" She exclaimed in disbelief. "Sir Integra actually read this?! It just...doesn't seem like something she would read!"
"The book is popular. Perhaps she wanted to try something new." Sebastian said with a light shrug. He slipped the book from her hands and gave her a soft smile. "It's a light novel. Nothing too intense or daring. It should lull you to sleep with ease while simultaneously being enjoyable. Care to try it?" The small blonde stared at him for a moment. The smile on her face widened a little each second before she finally nodded her head.
"Sure," She whispered.
"Come on," Sebastian spoke softly as he lightly gestured for her to follow. But she didn't immediately follow. Nervously, the Draculina licked over her lips before saying what she wanted to say.
"Sebastian, thank you for doing this." Seras quickly announced. "I know that these last few days have been...weird between us. In fact, I thought you and Alucard didn't like me in the slightest. And tonight was a little crazy and...probably didn't turn out the way you wanted it to. But...I'm truly grateful that you came anyway to sit with me. I feel...so much better having you here. Thank you." Sebastian glanced at her over his shoulder, still looking confused.
"You thought Alucard and I didn't like you? What gave you that impression?" He snickered, sounding somewhat amused.
"I...don't know." Seras murmured, feeling embarrassed and stupid for mentioning it. Shamefully, the girl lowered her head to look at the floor while she mindlessly played with the hem of her shirt. "It just...felt that way, like...I was a stupid fledgling you guys didn't want around or something."
"I apologize if Alucard and I made you feel that way ever, Seras." The demon told her. "That wasn't our intention at all. We just wanted to give you some space and let you settle in before we approached you. We didn't want to overwhelm you with everything at once. It wouldn't have been very fair to you."
'I'm glad that you guys told me." She assured him. "I'm sorry we weren't able to fully discuss it, but we can soon with Alucard."
"Take all the time that you need, Seras. We're not going anywhere." He reminded her with a devilish smirk. He then gestured his head at the bed. "Crawl under the covers and get cozy, Miss. Victoria." He instructed her in a deep sensual purr. The little vampire did as she was told with a small smile. She didn't realize just how exhausted she was until she crawled under those cool covers and rested her head down on her soft pillows. She was just about on the brink of passing out the second she found herself nestled in bed. But her heart rate alerted her brain when Sebastian suddenly slipped into bed beside her. He propped a pillow up against the headboard so he comfortably lean back. He had respectfully removed his shoes before stretching his legs out on her bed. Afterwards, he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and gently pulled her to get her to lay her head on his chest. At first, her heart had been racing like crazy, but when she found herself in his arms with her head on his chest, she felt nothing but safe and comfortable. Unlike that filth, Ryan, she completely trusted Sebastian. She knew that he would never do anything to hurt her.
