Kazuma suddenly found himself seated in a familiar 'room' without any walls. His eyes went wide, and he leapt to his feet.

"What the hell?! I died again?! How?! How did I die?! I won the duel!"

"Uh, Kazuma?"

He turned around and noticed a very pretty girl in a high-back chair.

"Chris? Did you die too?"

"W… What?!" The woman was suddenly flustered and waved her hands about. "No! No, you have me mistaken, I am not Chris!"

Kazuma paused and took a closer look. She did look a lot like Chris, her hair was even the same shade of silver. But it was a whole lot longer than Chris's. The woman was also wearing a purple and white dress that was a lot more elegant than the shorts and shirt his sempai favored.

Plus, this woman had a B cup, so she couldn't possibly be Chris.

"Uh, sorry," he took a couple of deep breaths to calm himself down. "Just to be clear though, this is the afterlife, right? What happened? How did I die this time?"

"This is the afterlife, sort of," the girl said. "But you're not dead, Kazuma. You're simply unconscious so I summoned your spirit here so we could talk."

"Whoa, that's a relief! I was really worried there for a minute." Having calmed down he offered her a friendly smile. "You know who I am, but could you please tell me your name?"

"You don't recognize me? That hurts my feelings, Kazuma." She pouted.

"Huh?"

She grinned and gave him a playful wink. "I'm your goddess, Kazuma. I'm Eris."

"Oh! Uh, I'm your follower, so should I kneel or bow or something?"

"That's not necessary, I just want to have a normal conversation with you before you wake up."

"Listen, thank you so much for saving me from those naked mole rats. You have no idea how good it is to have a dependable goddess on your side."

"I can imagine."

"So, what did you want to talk about?"

"Kazuma, I want to make a request of you."

"Sure, anything!" Kazuma answered immediately. "I owe you and I'll do anything you ask."

"That's good to hear," she said happily. "Please help Chris out, she's also one of my followers and I've assigned her an important task. Oh, and if she ever asks for your help in the future could you please lend a hand? And without asking her for a date or anything else in return. When you help her, you can think of it as acting in my service."

Hearing this made him feel a little glum. "Oh, well, okay."

"Something wrong, Kazuma? Do you not want to help Chris?'

"No, of course, I do. I was just kind of hoping we'd eventually have a date."

"Kazuma," Eris wagged a finger at him. "I don't think it's proper for a man who is betrothed to be going on dates with other women. I'm sure Darkness is very happy about it. Please don't do anything with another woman that would hurt her."

"Oh wait, you see about the betrothal it's actually one big-"

Before he could continue Eris lifted a hand and it glowed. Kazuma felt warmth flood into his body.

"Since you are both my devoted followers I give your union my blessing," Eris stared at him with a gaze that felt a little intense and even a touch threatening. "It's very rare for a goddess to bestow a blessing on a couple. It would be very very bad if you were to do anything to destroy this union. Very bad, Kazuma."

She continued to smile the entire time she said that, but Kazuma could feel the blood draining from his face.

"Uh…"

He began to feel light-headed, and he saw his arms and body begin to fade and become translucent.

"You're waking up now, please keep what I said in mind. I'll keep watching out for you so please don't let me down."

As he was disappearing, he thought of something important he wanted to tell his goddess."

"Eris-sama!"

"Yes?"

"About all the things Aqua and the stupid Axis Cult say about you! I want you to know I don't care if you pad your chest! I'm totally fine with it!"

"Urk!" A weird look was on her face, and she covered her B cups with both arms.

He wanted to reassure her he really was fine with it but was gone.

Kazuma opened his eyes. He was looking up into a clear sky and his head was resting on something soft. "Damn it," he muttered. Not only was he never getting that date with Chris, but now even Eris was bullying him into marrying Darkness. "How could this get any worse?"

"D… d… darling?" Darkness's face was suddenly above his peering down. He realized he was lying in the garden and his head was resting on her lap. He looked around and saw the crowd that had watched the duel were all glaring at him. Walter was still lying there groaning with Lord Alderp and Claire kneeling by his side and staring daggers at him.

"It's a… all r… right, d… darling." Darkness gently stroked his head. "It doesn't have to be a dungeon-themed wedding."

"And the nightmare continues," he groaned.

Author's Note: I have just released my eighth novel which is available for sale on Amazon. The title is Common Sense Is My Superpower by Nelson Chereta. For all you readers I have good news and bad news about this book. The good news is I can 100% guarantee you'll love the characters, plot, and humor. The bad news? The reason I can be 100% sure of that is because this novel is based on this story. I decided to take one of my most popular fanfictions, file off the serial numbers, and release it as a novel. While I've added a few original elements and the story is not a complete copy and paste, I'd estimate that 70% is the same. So, if you're interested in that 30% or want to support me, please give it a try.
