Chapter 8: Manipulation:
Vunshoec's POV:
We decided to stop to make camp. I was hoping Pexano is alright!
Pexano's POV:
I was approached by Caklorm. "I can give you anything you desire," says Caklorm, "all you have to do is accept me as your husband instead of Vunshoec!"
"I'm sorry," I said, "but I can never love you!"
"But I can give you power," says Caklorm.
"I have no need for power," I said.
"I can give you gold," says Caklorm.
"I have all the gold I need," I said.
"Perhaps this will help!" Caklorm then changes himself to look like Vunshoec.
"That is just sad," I said. Caklorm then leaves.
Caklorm's POV:
I then called one of my shapeshifters. "Yes, my lord," she says.
"I have a job for you," I said.
Vunshoec's POV:
I was resting when a woman came. "Who are you," I asked.
"Just someone who has been watching you!" She was beautiful. "I'm sorry your fiancée was taken, but maybe I can make you feel better." She was getting closer, but I stopped her.
"I'm sorry," I said, "but I will love no one other than Pexano!"
She then tries to attack me, but I defeat her. She was a shapeshifter! She then suddenly died! Must have been Caklorm!
Pexano's POV:
"Do you now see," I asked, "love triumphs over power!"
"Listen to me," says Caklorm, "if you accept my proposal, I will halt the Hunters' attacks! It is up to you to stop the killings!"
