Underleague

Chapter 47

Author Notes: Well this has been a chapter long coming geez.

Sen: It's been tooooo long!

Mako: I wonder why?

Sen: You're an overworked, underpaid workaholic with too much to do?

Mako: And why is that?

Sen: Because you're dedicated to a good story? *sweats a little*

Mako: Hmmm. We do not own Pokemon or Undertale.

Sen: Phew

Mako: Don't think I've forgotten about all your 'help'

Sen: *Sweats more*

Nothing quite made the blood pump furiously in Frisk's veins then going through a deadly obstacle course. "Don't you think this is a bit too much Undyne?" Max was praying to the pokegods that Asriel gets here soon.

Because the way things were going, both him and the police officer were going to Hell. "Don't be such a wimp Burgerpants! This is how me and my pokemon train to get stronger. And stronger this kid's gonna be!"

Big problem with her logic was the fact that both her and her pokemon were hardcore fighting machines. Frisk was a little kid. Literally running for her life while dodging flamethrowers, crogunk poison tipped pin missiles, ice beams and rock throws...

The poor kid was panting, her entire face red from the exertion as she tried to climb up a mountain of dirt. Yet despite having gone through this training regiment twice now, she refused to give up. Not uttering a shred of complain.

And it wasn't like she was alone in this. All of her pokemon were right along with her. Admittedly Undyne didn't realize until it was too late how difficult it would be for a pokemon like Pincer or Pikaboo(or a fricking kid for that matter) to get through all the traps, but again, none of them complained.

But that was more so due to the fact that Frisk was in fight or flight mode. More focused on screaming and moving than getting annoyed or upset that she literally signed up for a death sentence. Max had tried to warn her, so even if she wasn't happy about this-it was her own fault.

That still didn't make it easy to watch. Max desperately reached for a candy or smoke in his pocket, only to grunt at empty space where he usually stashes it. He ran out of them ages ago but he couldn't help but look for them anyway.

When forced to see Undyne's latest victims leaping through pit traps, ducking under swinging logs, climbing up barbed wire walls, anyone would be a nervous wreck! One would think Undyne was training them for some hardcore pokeathelon, instead of the pokemon league.

In any case this was too much. "Alright kid, not bad. Now let's battle!" Max's eyes widened in disbelief. She wanted to battle? After forcing the kid and her pokemon to endure a hellish obstacle course run? Two runs!?

Great Arceus, Toriel was actually going to kill them. "O-ok!" Even worse Frisk was willing to do it. She stood, staggering, her pokemon standing by her side. All of them looked awful. Still they were a sight to behold.

Their gazes were filled with determination. "Noooooooooooooooosssssssssss!" Suddenly the door slammed open. "What the? Hey-close the door!" Out from the entrance were several members of the Tem family. Which honestly...made no sense to him.

Yeah they lived nearby, but how did no one notice them!? They so loud and noisy yet somehow they managed to make their way Undyne's training grounds without trouble?

All of them were dressed up. Some were in superhero costumes, others dressed in rainbow camo, but each of them wore determined expressions. "We've comes to rescu yous Frisk! Tem Tems-attack~" In a blink of an eye they rushed in, carried the child and her pokemon safely away.

"Get back here!" Undyne blew her whistle summoning her pokemon to try and prevent their escape. Undyne's pokemon were strong, intimidating beasts...but the Tems were stronger with their numbers.

They ran over all that stood in their way. Quite literally. "Yesss! We dids it!" Frisk was left glancing at her pokemon. "O-ok?" There was nothing she could do as she was personally escorted to Bob's daycare center.

Max could only sigh exhausted. Nothing made sense anymore (not that they ever did.) "I don't get paid enough for this." Undyne was FUMING. "You Tems think you can kidnap my pupil? RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!?" Max winced, watching the red haired warrior race out of the training room.

"Ho boy." Immediately the nurse took out a cigarette (he FINALLY found one!) He brought out his lighter, flicking the flame. "Don't you DARE smoke in my gym Burgerpants!" The poor nurse yelped, nearly dropping his cigarette and lighter onto the ground.

A sigh escaped him when he caught them, relieved. "Stop wasting time! Let's GO!" Only to actually drop them when Undyne raced back, grabbed him by the collar to drag him away. Definitely earned a vacation for this one.

Meanwhile...

Frisk was blinking, very confused. "Yays, Tems saved the day!" Surrounded by so many bubbly faces cheering made her smile. But that didn't erase the fact that her training session with Undyne was interrupted. "Tem Tem hugs!"

Still, it felt nice being cuddled by the eccentric family. Especially when she heard all of her pokemon's content sighs and purrs. Even Pikaboo was relaxed as she accepted the hug fest. "Alright you all. Let's leave it at that and get back to work." All of them awww'd in sadness, disappointed.

Leave it to Bob to get things in order. One by one his family stepped away, giving their guests some room to breathe. "How are you doing Frisk?" The young trainer smiled, her pokemon snuggling up to her sides. "Good! Uh, sorry to drop in on you."

His reply came with an easy going chuckle. "Not a problem. If anything I should be sorry. Looks like my family interrupted something pretty important for you." He eyed the sweat and bruises he could see, humming in thought.

"Oh! I mean-I was training with Undyne. Me and the others want to be stronger!" She raised her fist into the air to prove her point. She felt drained, but it was the good kind of exhaustion where progress was being made.

While running and dodging things alongside her pokemon, she felt more connected to them. Like she had a better understanding of how they fought and felt. Especially Pikaboo. She wasn't as outgoing as she was when Frisk first met her, but she could tell the little ghost/fairy type gained some confidence.

At the very least she was willing to stay out of her pokeball and interact with the others. "I see...Well knowing her, she'll be on her way to see how you're doing, so why not take a bit of a break?" As nice of an offer it was, Frisk had to shake her head. Bob hummed again, his smile a tad wider.

It reminded her of Sans, like he knew more than what he was letting on. Like he had a huge secret. "Ok then, do you want to help me? There's a lot of baby pokemon that need my attention, but I just don't have enough hands." her eyes sparkled at the thought.

Baby pokemon? He took care of baby pokemon!? "What do I do?" Bob laughed as he escorted her and her companions to the nursery section of his daycare. From the moment he opened the door, she was surrounded by loud wails.

Rows and rows of little beds held pokemon, all of them crying for attention. She followed him further in, her heart breaking at the sight. Their cries grew louder the farther they walked in.

"I need to feed them, some of them need special medicine because they're sick. Others are lonely and want to be hugged. Others are cranky because they're late in naps. It's a lot of work and as much as my family tries to help, it can be too much." He didn't need to ask again.

She tugged on his pants. "What can I do?"

to be continued

Author Notes: Bob be sneaky! But it makes sense, surrounded by his Tem family and baby pokemon all day? Yeah he's getting his way and I'm all for it! But gotta end it here my friends.
