Chapter 30: Even so, Their Mysterious Life Still Continues.
—OoOoO—
"You've learned Judo, Taekwondo, and kickboxing, right, Haruno-san?" asked Maki.
Haruno nodded to confirm the question.
"Good. At least I don't need to teach you how to punch and kick. We can move on to the next stage then."
Haruno wore the jersey she bought yesterday with Hachiman in Kyoto. She had been preparing since this morning and was passionate and motivated. However, there was a slight change from what she had expected.
Haruno initially thought she would train at the Jujutsu High complex. But Maki took her to another training ground facility in a former mining site that was no longer in use. Also, Maki brought her friends and was accompanied by an assistant manager who took Haruno and co to Tokyo Station yesterday.
"Before I begin, is there anything you'd like to ask?"
Given the opportunity to ask questions, Haruno didn't hesitate to reveal the thoughts haunting her.
"Let's say, isn't this the Kiroku mine?" Haruno asked while looking around.
"Yeah. Why?"
Haruno shook her head and replied, "Nothing. I'm just surprised the association can own this place."
Maki didn't answer right away. Putting her hands into her jacket pockets, she also took in the sights of the abandoned mine.
"I don't know the details, though, but this place has belonged to the association since the Edo period. Before being used as a training ground, this place became one of their main sources of finance."
"Oh, really?" Haruno responded weakly.
Even so, she had to admit that the association had more assets than she thought. She knew the association was wealthy but didn't think they had such mining.
The Kiroku Mine was located in Saitama Prefecture, about an hour's drive from central Tokyo. It was a gold and copper mine but was no longer operational because its mineral reserves had dried up. The last thing Haruno heard before crossing into the jujutsu world was that it had been left to become an exclusive estate despite no land development projects.
However, Haruno just discovered that this place has become a training ground. Knowing this, she wouldn't be surprised if the association had other facilities hidden in unexpected places.
"If you don't have anything else to ask, now it's my turn," said Maki.
Haruno furrowed her brows for a moment. She decided to stay silent and let Maki continue.
"What are the basic things one must have in fighting between sorcerers or exterminating cursed spirits?"
Haruno thought about an answer for a moment. The answer should be pretty simple unless Maki expected philosophical words. However, judging from the girl's character, Haruno was sure that Maki wasn't the girl who liked to beat around the bush.
"Skills and fighting abilities?" Haruno replied while tilting her head.
Maki didn't immediately confirm or blame Haruno's answer. She walked closer to the woman and held the shoulder covered in the blue jersey.
"Nah, it's hit-and-drop endurance."
While saying that, Maki grabbed Haruno's shoulder and threw her up with one hand. She threw Haruno as easily as if she'd just thrown a can. Let alone a human, the girl was even strong enough to throw a car.
Haruno was surprised because she was suddenly thrown up more than 15 metres. What surprised her even more, Maki threw her away like she was nothing.
'A girl with such a small body can easily throw me this high?'
Haruno looked down, confirming how high she had been thrown. It bothered her to imagine she would land on such dry and hard ground.
'My bones will be shattered,' she thought with a pale face.
Haruno didn't have good energy control yet. She couldn't even do energy control properly. Moreover, she couldn't draw out her negative energy and only used positive energy. In other words, there was no way she would get out of that situation unscathed. Her best option was to minimise the damage, let the positive energy within her body flow, and heal her wounds.
Gravity was pulling her faster than she could have imagined. However, she had prepared herself for a heavy blow. Unfortunately, instead of kissing the ground, Haruno felt a hard kick to her stomach right before she reached the surface. She couldn't see who had done that, but she was sure the culprit was Maki.
Her mouth was forced open, and her guts spewed when she felt the hard kick. Her body was thrown as far as eight metres before finally rolling on the ground up to twelve metres away. It was a terrible experience. Even Haruno could imagine it more painful than if she fell and hit the ground.
Haruno couldn't get up. She could only hold her stomach with her body trembling. Her eyes bulged like she was trying so hard to endure the pain. Meanwhile, fluids came out of her mouth, saliva mixed with traces of vomit and blood.
Seeing Haruno, who was still sprawled out, Maki approached her casually and put on an innocent face. She just looked at Haruno with her right hand on her hip. Even though she looked cold-hearted, Maki was worried about the woman's condition.
'Am I being too much? I made sure to pull my kick, though?'
Maki was a superhuman, a unique case even in the jujutsu society. In exchange for her cursed energy, even less than normal humans, she obtained a superhuman body instead.
Fighting sorcerers or cursed spirits was one thing, but Maki's punch could kill a normal human in just one hit. Sorcerers and cursed spirits could strengthen their physique using cursed energy. That was why Maki never pulled her punches. In fact, when she taught Yuta how to fight, Maki wouldn't hesitate because she knew Yuta's abundant cursed energy would protect him even without his awareness.
However, training Haruno was new for Maki. Haruno was just an ordinary person until a few days ago. Even when she awakened her power, Haruno couldn't use it properly because she hadn't found a way to harness the negative energy in her body. Because of that, Maki had to pay attention to her strength.
'Unlike other sorcerers, Haruno-san has two different energy pools by default. At first glance, it's amazing because she can use positive energy without much effort. However, therein lies the problem. If Haruno-san can't draw out her negative energy, her practical combat training will also be hampered.'
Maki basically couldn't see things related to the supernatural. Thanked the glasses she wore, she could see everything, including the flow of cursed energy.
As she looked at Haruno, Maki witnessed a stream of energy trying to repair the damage in Haruno's stomach area. That was positive energy use. There was no mistaking it. However, the efficiency was so bad that even Maki, who couldn't use cursed energy, could tell that her control was even worse than a 12-year-old brat.
"If you find this too hard, we can lower the level," said Maki.
The bespectacled girl was silent, waiting for a response from Haruno. She had to be patient for a few minutes before her interlocutor replied.
"No, we can continue like this. You want me to get used to punches and throws so I won't be surprised by a real fight, right, Maki-chan? Then let's do it."
Haruno got up with great difficulty while wiping the liquid from her mouth. She tried to balance her body. And after she succeeded, Haruno looked at Maki and continued her words.
"Besides that, I think constantly healing myself will help me in energy control. So, please don't hesitate, Maki-chan."
Maki smiled crookedly, hearing that determination. She crossed her arms over her chest as she looked at Haruno with a challenging look.
"If you insist, what can I do, right? Get ready, Haruno-san. I'll ensure you cannot vomit anything even if your internal organs have been completely destroyed."
While Maki and Haruno continued their training session, two figures watched the activity from the side of the training ground. They enjoyed the show of a high school girl throwing and kicking a university girl continuously without mercy. It was a slightly pitiful sight but also fun to watch.
"It's been a long time seeing Maki this excited to train someone, huh?" said an inhuman creature.
"Salmon."
They were Panda and Inumaki Toge, second-year of Tokyo Jujutsu Tech students. In other words, they were colleagues of Okkotsu Yuta, Hikigaya Hachiman, and Zen'in Maki. They had come to this place at Maki's request to help her if she needed more hands later.
There was a funny moment when Haruno first met Panda. She ran out of words when she saw a panda who could walk, think, speak, and act like humans. She thought at first it was some kind of cursed spirit or something. However, after receiving an explanation, Haruno asked Panda something strange.
Haruno asked Panda to act in various poses and then took pictures. She reasoned that she would show it off to her younger sister, who was a panda maniac.
"Last time Maki was this excited when she taught Yuta how to fight, right?" asked Panda.
"Salmon," Toge replied in agreement.
The two creatures of a different kind sat on a folding stool they had brought from the dormitory. They watched the two girls gorge on a pack of guazi. There was more guazi, but Toge still had it in his bag.
Guazi was a snack originating from China but was very popular in East and Southeast Asia. It was a snack made from grains but generally made from sunflower seeds. It tasted very delicious and savoury, almost like roasted peanuts. However, you could get a larger quantity of guazi than roasted peanuts for a lower price.
"Come to think of it, it wasn't just Maki. Isn't Hachiman a bit gentler these days, too?"
"Mustard leave?"
Panda rubbed his chin, trying to piece together the few clues he found into solid evidence.
"You know, that bastard wasn't the kind to reply to your messages right away, right?"
"Tuna mayo."
"If you send him a Line message today, Hachiman might read it and reply two or three days later if you don't call him in person."
Regarding compactness and harmony in fighting, Hachiman and Maki were probably the best duos of their generation. However, when it came to people who knew Hachiman best, Panda was one of the students—alongside Megumi—who knew him well.
As Yaga Masamichi's favourite, Panda has been living in Tokyo Jujutsu Tech since the beginning of his creation. Even though the secret behind how he could think, act, and collect cursed energy independently like a human attracted much attention, Masamichi could handle everything well. On the other hand, people who were under the protection of Gojo Satoru, Hachiman, Komachi, and Megumi also occasionally visited Tokyo Jujutsu Tech. So, that was how they got to know and get used to Panda.
"Salmon!"
"I know, right? Even though the current Maki looks like a barbarian queen, she became softer after Yuta came. And Hachiman recently started replying to Line quickly. Doesn't that mean he has changed too?"
"Tuna mayo."
"I also think so. I bet Hachiman started replying to Line more often since he was with Haruno."
Panda paused his speech for a few moments. A lightbulb appeared above his head, and the creature immediately put on an excited face. Panda then dug his hand into his soft fur and pulled out a notebook and pen.
"Wait a minute, I suddenly have an inspiration. The romance story about YutaMaki is already fascinating. Now I think about HachiHaru, who is just as great!"
"Tuna-tuna."
Toge let Panda, who was focused on writing something in his notebook. Since he didn't have any friends to talk to, and seeing Maki bullying Haruno no longer interested him, Toge decided to take out his phone and open the YouTube app.
It was no secret that this young man had a penchant for that online video player platform. His hobby didn't stop there; he also wanted to become a YouTuber. His limited vocabulary made it very difficult for him to become a content creator. In the worst case, Toge could have blown up his equipment if he didn't hold back his words. However, with the help of his friends, he could start his career as a game streamer.
Meanwhile, Panda, in particular, had no interest in human things. However, he enjoyed observing and studying human interaction. Panda recorded what he observed and learned in a notebook to channel and facilitate this desire. However, the longer he wrote, the more he grew a desire to write his own stories with the people around him as inspiration.
In fact, Panda had a short novel about romance, with Yuta and Maki as the main characters and Hachiman as the main villain.
He got all kinds of reactions from people who read it, only those closest to him, of course. He remembered how Maki tore up his book, and Hachiman only reacted flatly, unlike what Panda expected.
'You are too good at describing my character. Am I really that cut out to be a villain?' Panda smiled, remembering the Hachiman's comment.
His hand stopped moving the Pen, but he couldn't wait to show his new story to the boy known to read all kinds of books.
'I wonder how Hachiman will react this time if I write a romance novel about him.'
—OoOoO—
During this season, Sobu High was equipped with air conditioners, making students feel comfortable in class during the summer. But outside the classroom, it was a different story.
Even in this hot weather, when heading to the clubroom in the special building, Hachiman could feel a chill. It could be because of the position of the building, which was in the shadow of the main building, or the good air ventilation. Or it could be because there was an aura from the owner of that room. He was pretty sure the cold sensation from her was causing the hairs on the back of his neck to stand up.
While he was preoccupied with useless thoughts due to the cold sensation of the special building, he opened the club room's door slowly, allowing a stern gaze to fall upon him.
"Uuh… Hello?" greeted Hachiman
After receiving Yukinoshita Yukino's gaze, Hachiman felt weak. Why was that person so salty? Could she read his thoughts about her earlier? That was what was going through his mind right now.
"Oh, it's just Hikigaya-kun. Your expression is very moist. Makes me think like an amphibian has entered this room," said Yukino.
"Well, being a teenager will make your face feel moisturised. It can't be helped, no? But please don't tell Hiratsuka-sensei about what I just said, or she will definitely get annoyed when she hears it."
After their usual greeting, Hachiman sat in his regular chair opposite Yukino's. Seeing that he was feeling uncomfortable, Yukino didn't say anything after that. She then glanced back at the book in her hands.
Hachiman could easily see that Yukino was not in a good mood. It didn't seem to stem from her dislike or hatred for him. The fact she didn't add a few sarcasms to her words just now was proof. Again, normal Yukino would say a few extra piercing words afterwards.
'If it's not me, why is she in such a bad mood? You're only going to make the atmosphere of this room worse, so please stop.'
Since there was no work for him to do, Hachiman took a book from his bag. He opened a page in the book and then glanced at Yukino.
"Sigh…," Yukino sighed, "That bothers me a bit. So, straight to the point. You went to Kyoto yesterday with Nee-san, right?"
Hachiman was no longer surprised by Yukino's deductions. When Haruno uploaded their photo to cover up her sudden disappearance, Hachiman thought Yukino might recognise him right away, even though his face had been covered by the sticker in the picture.
'Wait, she has an Instagram account? It doesn't suit her at all. Or…, I bet she only uses it to look at cat and panda pictures,' though Hachiman.
"And, of course, you don't have to bother lying because I won't believe it," continued Yukino.
"I won't. Haruno-san can be a pain in the ass sometimes, right? So, I accompanied her to Kyoto for some reason."
Yukino brushed her hair back with a hand. She looked straight into Hachiman's eyes to find anything odd.
"You seem to know nee-san better than I thought, huh?"
There was a brief pause before Yukino continued.
"Well, it's not like I care, though. It also worked in my favour because she found a new toy. It's just, if you're serious, you better be careful. You know, my mother is starting to find out why she suddenly disappeared without a word the last few days."
"I told you, it's not what you imagined."
Ignoring Hachiman's words, Yukino gave another ultimatum.
"I won't interfere with your relationship with Nee-san. If you think Nee-san is troublesome, you should be prepared because my mother will be much more unsettling."
Denying Yukino's words was draining his sanity. Hachiman no longer wanted to bother wasting his time correcting Yukino's prejudices. In his defence, it wasn't like he was enjoying the rumours. It was more like he didn't mind since the rumours didn't interfere with his daily life. So, he would just let go of whatever Yukino thought about him and Haruno.
But Yukino had a point. Haruno would have almost uncovered the secret of the jujutsu society's existence on her own if she hadn't been turned into a sorceress first by Mahito. The girl has a very sharp intuition and extraordinary brain capabilities. That should also be applied to Yukino. She actually had suspicions about her sister's relationship with Hachiman. However, she decided to ignore that.
The reason was simple. In contrast to Haruno, who was bored with her perfect life, Yukino's eyes were always fixed on one point. Yukino was always looking for recognition, so she wasn't just seen as a replacement for Haruno. Thus, she simply tried to ignore all kinds of diversions. She was tired of people assuming that she was just a substitute. She was sick of those who thought she was an inferior version of Haruno. Because of that, Yukino was thankful that something else distracted her sister.
'But that's not the case,' thought Hachiman, 'The brilliant brains of the Yukinoshita family are genetic. If her daughters are like that, their mother must be no less sharp. I'll fucked up if we're not careful enough for Haruno-san's mother.'
Honestly, Hachiman respected the Yukinoshita family regardless of how annoying Haruno was and Yukino's sharp tongue. They were a conglomerate family. They could even be said to be a noble family in Japan. This generation is the pinnacle. Not only have their various businesses been successful, but Haruno's and Yukino's father also served as secretary of state.
However, even though they had a business empire based in Chiba and were one of Japan's most respected families, there was no indication that the Yukinoshita family was affiliated with jujutsu sorcerers. It differed from the other multinational corporations that had connections with sorcerers.
That might not seem very relevant in the modern era. However, in the period before Gojo Satoru was born, where sorcerers could do whatever they wanted from the shadows, their involvement in large corporations was highly influential. Prominent businessmen often hired the services of illegal sorcerers to eliminate their business rivals. However, all that changed when Gojo Satoru grew fed up with their activities.
'A background check on Yukinoshita's family has been carried out. They were clean. There was no indication they had been involved with sorcerers. They came from a fishing family in Hokkaido 200 years ago. It was when commoners started to have their last names after the fall of the Tokugawa shogunate.'
No more words left the girl's mouth, even though Hachiman had been anticipating it for a few moments. The only thing Yukino could do was read, but she then let out an annoyed sigh. It was no wonder that people thought her pile of stress was starting to rise.
Leaving Yukino to her world, Hachiman looked back at his book and was about to concentrate on reading. However, his focus was distracted when the sound of a sliding door filled the room.
"Yahallo!"
Entering the room carrying a summer vibe, the cheerful greeting came from Yuigahama Yui. After walking in with a loud noise, she sat down in her usual chair.
Yuigahama's skirt looked shorter than usual. On top of that, she wasn't even wearing the knee-high socks anymore. Her sleeves were also seen rolled up. Views like that really describe the summer vibe. If one looked closely, one could say that the peeking parts of her arms and legs had increased a lot.
'Well, not that I pay much attention to detail or anything like that, though. That's something you usually notice with just one look, right? Even if there was a problem, then it was you underestimating the observation ability of a loner's eyes,' thought Hachiman, trying so hard to deny his impulse.
"So hot, huh?" Yui complained in a tone that was still full of enthusiasm.
After sitting down in her seat, Yui grabbed the hem of her neck collar and shook it. However, it bothered Hachiman quite a bit. He was trying hard not to look at her because of that.
Forcing to stop himself from staring at the gap in Yui's cleavage, Hachiman focused on reading the book he was holding. After that, he tried to use extra energy to turn the pages that had stuck because of the damp air and made quite a noise.
Hachiman felt like a fool for forgetting to put a page marker so that many pages stuck to each other. It was the saddest thing he'd ever done to a book. It could also be considered one of the many uncomfortable things to do in a season like this.
"Yukinon, is something wrong?"
If it were someone else, they probably wouldn't ask Yukino, who was in a bad mood. Let alone when she was in a bad mood, even Yukino's usual demeanour was already a bad thing for them.
Even so, Yui still did it.
If it were the usual Yui, she wouldn't be crossing her lines and asking such an unpleasant thing. However, when she asked her directly, the scene proved their distance had shortened.
"This damp air is terrible," Yukino replied.
"Aah, damp air, huh? I can relate to that. Making it hard to fix my hair. This is very disturbing."
Unlike Yukino, who sighed in annoyance as she rubbed her book, Yui brushed her hair with her hand.
"Fix it? I'm the opposite, though. The damp air makes the paper feel sticky."
"Eh? That's not entirely true, though?" Yui replied as she put her index finger to her chin.
When she said that, Yui stood up and walked behind Yukino. Ignoring the black-haired girl's gaze filled with questions, Yui gently touched Yukino's hair.
"So soft, like silk. Aah, but it feels a bit hot, huh?"
Yukino looked doubtful and wasn't sure if she and Yui had a mutual understanding.
"Uhm… Yuigahama-san? What are you doing?"
"Hmm. There, there, don't worry. I understand," Yui replied, ignoring Yukino's question.
The short-haired girl searched for something in her pocket and took out a hair tie. She then put it on her wrist. After that, Yui took out a comb from her bag. Slowly, she combed Yukino's hair. As she made the knot pattern in Yukino's long black, silky, black hair, she lifted it and tied it up.
"Having long hair in the summer will make your head hot. So having your hair tied up like this feels better, no?"
"Y-yeah, I think," Yukino replied hesitantly.
Hearing Yui's words, Yukino seemed confused about what to answer. She seemed not used to someone doing her hair.
"Umm... So, Yuigahama-san? Why does it have to be my hair? Wait, are you listening to me?"
Of course, Yui definitely didn't listen to her.
Tidying Yukino's hair, Yui sang cheerful songs. She seemed to be putting in some finishing touches. Even so, her long black hair seemed about to burst out and become a mess. When Yui tied it up with a hair clip she took in her chest pocket, she finally finished the bun project.
"It's done! We look a perfect match!" she chirped.
When Yui took another look at her work, she smiled in satisfaction while saying, "hee-hee". If you compare their hairstyles, it could be said that they were indeed somewhat similar.
"Maybe it's more like an artificial hairstyle rather than matching," said Hachiman.
"Watch your mouth, you Hikki!"
'You gave me a weird nickname, and somehow it becomes an insult, huh?' thought Hachiman.
Yui threatened the boy while pointing her finger at him. However, she looked back at her handiwork with great pride in the next second.
"By the way, wouldn't it bother you a lot if a girl had the same hairstyle as yours?" asked Hachiman.
When it came to high school students, they loved to ramble about themselves. Especially when it came to fashion, something that girls had to talk about, but was that really the case? Or if you live the way of life reading your surroundings like Yui, would a quote like "Everyone becomes one, and everything looks beautiful" would happen?
Yui raised her head and said "hmm" while thinking. However, her simple answer was inversely proportional to the time she spent thinking about it.
"Well, if that makes things feel close, then that shouldn't be a problem, right?"
"Uhm… What does my hair look like, anyway?" asked Yukino, who had joined in on the conversation.
In response to the question, Yui took a small folding mirror from her bag and gave it to the black-haired girl.
"Thank you," Yukino muttered.
Yukino then put her book on the table and took the mirror. She opened it and saw how her hair looked. Her eyes widened with a questioning expression on her face. She then closed the mirror and looked at Yuigahama doubtfully.
"Yuigahama-san…, why my hair?"
When asked, Yuigahama blinked her eyes in confusion.
"Eh? Didn't you say you were annoyed by your hair?" Yui asked while tilting her head.
Yukino sighed as she closed her eyes.
"What I'm talking about is this."
The black-haired girl then pointed at her book on the table and continued her words.
"The damp air spoiled my book and gave me trouble turning the pages."
"Ah, so that was what you were talking about? I thought it was about your hair."
Yui then ended her words with a "tahaha" laugh while scratching her head.
'Hair and paper don't make any difference to you, huh? I see…Oh my God, why are you giving me this stupid thought?' Hachiman thought.
Well, Yui didn't read books. So, when she heard the word "kami", the first thing that came to her mind was hair. Her area of interest was different from Yukino's.
On the other hand, Yukino was no different in fashion, but she loved books more than that. It was true, for the bookworm, the damp air of summer and the sweat from the hands were significant hindrances. It must be because of these things that make the page paper sticky.
Yui tried to lighten the mood by laughing, and then she suddenly stood up from her chair as if she realised something.
"Ah, I'm sorry! I'll fix your hair!"
"You don't have to go that far," Yukino said gently.
Even though Yukino said that she seemed interested in her new hairdo as she opened the folding mirror again. She tilted her head left and right to examine it and then held her bun.
"I guess… this is quite refreshing," replied Yukino, embarrassed to admit she liked it.
Seeing that, Yui smiled happily and hugged Yukino.
"I know, right!?"
"Please don't get too close," complained the black-haired girl.
Yukino tried to put on a sad face, but that was just an alibi to hide her embarrassment.
—OoOoO—
"Are you sure we'll take this job, Nanako?"
"If we want to take back Master Geto's body, we've no other choice, Mimiko."
Mimiko was silent for a moment before answering, "Alright. We agreed we would do whatever it takes to regain Master Geto's body."
Hasaba Mimiko and Hasaba Nanako are twins sisters raised by Geto Suguru. They were twins, but they were not identical. Due to being involved with the incident masterminded by their foster father last year, their head was now given a high bounty and was labelled as a fugitive. If not for Gojo Satoru's mercy, they might not have been able to escape back then. Therefore, they were now living in hiding.
Even though they were twins, they had different tastes in clothing. Mimiko, with her short hair and bowl bangs, looked like your average model student. Especially when she wore a neat uniform and obeyed the rules.
On the other hand, Nanako looked wilder. She had slightly tanned skin because she liked to bask in the hot sun. In addition, she also dyed her hair pale blonde and tied it in a ponytail. Her skirt was shorter than the typical schoolgirl skirt, and she wore the loose-fitting socks that were popular in the early 2000s. Combined with the cardigan she was wearing, her gyaru girl's charm increased to the max.
Mimiko and Nanako were now in a middle school building in Chiba. More precisely, they were in the gymnasium and were taking pictures of every side of the building without missing a beat. There was no one there, considering the sky was getting dark.
"Are you sure you're going to do it alone? Our target is her, you know?" Mimiko asked.
"I know. But she's just a discounted version of the master Geto, right? We've lived long together with Master Geto. I've got a plan for how to deal with a cursed spirit manipulator at her level."
Nanako lowered her hand. She had finished with the gymnasium section and was about to head to the other side of the school. However, before that, she continued her words first.
"In fact, the problem is her brother and Hiratsuka Shizuka. That's why I need your help to monitor the surroundings."
"Not only that, I think. I heard her mother was having an intimate relationship with Gojo Satoru. So, we've got to finish this quickly before Gojo arrives," Mimiko replied.
Nanako tightened her grip on her phone. Her jaw seemed to harden to contain the emotion she was feeling.
"Her brother was recently recognised as a special grade, her mother has a special relationship with Gojo Satoru, and she lives under Hiratsuka Shizuka's territory and has her protection because her brother is Hiratsuka's disciple."
Nanako opened her cardigan and put her phone in her uniform pocket. At the same time, she took out a piece of gum. Unwrapping it quickly, the girl stuffed it in her mouth spitefully in her chest.
"What a fucking lucky girl. It just pisses me off even more!"
"Well, I'm just reminding you. We should run away as soon as we run out of time," Mimiko replied.
Mimiko then unzipped her doll and took a notebook out of it. She quickly found the page marker she had previously placed and opened it.
"Just to be sure. According to my estimates, we only have 30 minutes before Hiratsuka Shizuka gets any information about the curtain spell I will use. Considering the distance between Sobu High and this school, Hiratsuka Shizuka and Hikigaya Hachiman would probably arrive in less than five minutes by running."
Mimiko closed her notebook and looked at Nanako.
"In other words, if within 30 minutes you can't kill her, we'll just run away without further ado. And within that time, I'll try to secure our escape route."
Nanako nodded in understanding. Her eyes radiated confidence for the battle that awaited her the next day.
"Got it. Besides, we must think of a plan if that bastard breaks his promise. But, before that, let's kill Hikigaya Komachi first."
—To Be Continued—
Author Note: I wonder if Panda dialogues are a bit off or not? I mean, with his tendency to ship Maki and Yuta, and how he doesn't really care about humans' behaviour, and yet he has quite sharp intuition in that area, I won't be surprised if Panda also writes the weird story. And yeah, this is the beginning of Komachi Assassination.
That's all from me. Please support me by subscribing me to "patre0n.-com-/-akadaka" (please replace "0" to "o", and remove the "-".) I won't force you and I'm still continuing the story, although you don't subscribe to me. But it'll help me a lot. Anyway, see you and stay safe.
