Chapter 26

Submitting Judgement

Zarbon took Raditz to a lone room in a military facility on the planet. There Zarbon asked while pulling out a digital writing pad, "Lord Freeza wants to know your progress on this "earth". Depending on it we might send a standard detachment to finish where you left off."

Raditz was happy to know he didn't take him to a more secluded area but now he was certain Zarbon was fishing for anything that might reveal what happened to him. Raditz had to be careful with his words, "I cleared out 60% of the population before Kakarot arrived."

Zarbon immediately asked, "Isn't 60% a little lacking for the number of months you were there, were you dragging your feet?"

Raditz kept his breath steady, aware Zarbon was attempting to get a rise out of him. If he let himself get worked up, then he could accidentally say something incriminating. Raditz, however, had a story planned and so he said, "I was hit with an ambush by stronger than average earthlings. I was seriously injured but evidently, they thought they finished me off. When I woke up, they were gone and after I recovered, I hunted them down and continued my attacks on their cities."

Zarbon's hand stopped for a moment as his eyes searched Raditz's expression for any signs of deceit. After a moment of frustration for Zarbon, he let out a brief exhale before saying, "That will do, you may return to your quarters." As Raditz left the room Zarbon quietly mused over the report he just wrote down. "How on earth did he survive? It sounds like he just walked it off but that's impossible, even Lord Freeza would have trouble with a hole in his chest."

Zarbon paused as he honestly questioned if a hole in his chest could really kill Freeza. Zarbon shook the thought away; he instead let out an audible groan before saying, "I hate to admit it, but I may have underestimated these Saiyans. I just wish I knew how he exactly survived. Not many lifeforms can survive for long without a beating heart, was it some sort of miracle?"

Left with an unsolvable mystery Zarbon finished finalizing his information and so he immediately reported back to Freeza. Zarbon said, "As far as I can tell he is unaware of my interference. He says he was injured but managed to recover later on and continued his mission."

Zarbon frowned and said, "I apologize Lord Freeza but I can't wrap my head around how he survived. His chest was pierced by a Ki wave and as I said before I checked his pulse, by all rights he should be dead."

Zarbon paused, waiting for Freeza's response. Freeza himself paused for a moment, giving himself time to think before saying, "I…dislike relying on speculation and theories when the individual in question survived a fatal injury."

Freeza let out an irritated grunt before continuing with, "Regardless, it doesn't matter. We no longer need him dead; the point was to dishearten his brother and now that he's given me reason to execute him that will no longer be necessary."

Freeza thought to himself for a moment, "Still, to walk off such a decisive blow is… troubling. I'm starting to feel tempted to take Cooler's advice, these Saiyans are proving more troublesome than they are worth."

Freeza takes another breath and says, "Anyhow, I must decide on the method."

Zarbon repeated the word, "Method" in an inquisitive tone. Freeza then says, "Yes, Zarbon the method of his execution. An ordinary execution won't be enough, I need to make an example of him."

Freeza's fists clench as the seat he's on begins to lightly vibrate, "He decimated one of my bases, made me look incompetent to my father and gave my brother something to pester me about. Worse yet he did all of this despite knowing full well the consequences of defying me."

Freeza then flashed a sinister smile and said, "I dare say he must have forgotten just how terrifying I can be."

Half a month passed, and a group of soldiers led by Cui arrived at Kakarot's cell. They slapped a new set of restraint on him which had a massive number of cuffs which bound his arms together making it even harder for him to move. Unlike the previous squad of soldiers, they didn't have anything to say to Kakarot. Instead, they roughly pushed and pulled him to a larger throne room of the same design as the one the other Saiyans were in. The only difference was the pair of stadiums on opposing sides of the room full of soldiers watching from above while chatting amongst themselves, they were looking down at Kakarot and the men accompanying him. Freeza had Zarbon and Dodoria by his side like normal but behind them and farther to their left was Raditz and the rest of his former Saiyan squad. Kakarot was pushed to the first steps where he fell on both knees. He then looked up at a smiling Freeza.

The grinning tyrant then said to an extra soldier who stood behind a podium, "You may begin."

The soldier behind the podium cleared his throat as he read aloud, "We all stand before this ungrateful fool to determine his fate for the crimes of defying Lord Freeza. The crimes he is to be punished for are as follows, destruction of the property of Lord Freeza, fleeing judgment, inciting rebellion, interfering in the conquest of a profitable world and above all treason against Lord Freeza."

Kakarot gave them an exasperated expression as he listed off his crimes. As the accusations were stated aloud Kakarot noted that his knees were feeling weak. He wondered if they were weak from his weakened body or if he was finally feeling the fear of death. Kakarot imagined after all of these proceedings Freeza would just put a hole in his chest and be done with him. Kakarot wondered if he was ready to die, he did note that he would have rather died in a fight even if it was an impossible one against Freeza.

This is when Freeza said something unexpected, "Ordinarily your actions would earn you a swift death however, I feel for you, Saiyan. You have served me faithfully since you were a child, it would be a shame to end this working relationship because of a simple lapse in judgment."

Freeza lowered his tone on the last half of the statement to emphasize the pity he supposedly feels for Kakarot. Freeza then said as he raised an open palm to his chest, Freeza's voice now sounded light and possibly sincere. "I'll give you a rare second chance, if you agree to finish the canceled mission your brother was required to complete, then you will be welcomed back with open arms."

Kakarot was shocked to hear this, thoughts began to swarm in his head, "A…second chance? I can hardly believe what I'm hearin' but… could I really get the chance to go back to invading planets with my comrades like so long ago?"

Raditz had a shocked expression which shifted to hopeful, if this were true then everything would go back to normal. His days of invading worlds alongside his brother would return. Nappa was looking joyful too, making it obvious he was hiding his worries about Kakarot's execution. This is when Vegeta with his arms crossed said in a low tone, "Don't be naive."

The two Saiyans looked at Vegeta who was between them, "Freeza isn't the forgiving type, he's not someone who will treat Kakarot's crimes with a slap on the wrist, he has something crueler in mind."

Nappa whispered, "What makes you think that, Vegeta?"

Vegeta growled out an answer, "Because I know how Freeza thinks, if it were me, I'd make him squirm."

Freeza's thoughts painted a clearer picture. He thinks to himself, "I can hardly wait to see that joyful smile. All I want to see is the look of horror on his face when I crush that hopeful expression with a single motion." Freeza's hand was slowly shifted from an open palm to a single index finger sticking up. He was about to point it toward Kakarot when he muttered something that Freeza didn't quite expect. As a matter of fact, he believes he misheard him. He froze, the other Saiyans expression shifted to a blank stare as if they couldn't believe what they heard. Freeza spoke with a cold tone and asked, "Repeat yourself, Saiyan?"

Suddenly Kakarot cracked a confident smile and stood up, causing the soldiers behind him to try and force him back to his knees. Suddenly a torrent of Ki from Kakarot pushed them back, which is when Kakarot spoke with confidence, "I refuse."

Freeza's hand clenched into a fist as he squeezed out an angry response, "What do you mean you refuse?"

Kakarot then said, "I meant what I said, I refuse. I don't give a damn about going back to being under your thumb, if I'm honest I'd rather roll over and die right now."

The crowd began to whisper amongst themselves, saying, "Is he insane?" and "What is he thinking?" These phrases filled the room which irritated Freeza further.

Freeza then said with a slightly raised voice, "You defiant fool, do you not fear death, or have you simply gone mad?"

Kakarot let out a brief chuckle before saying, "Death? Yeah, I'm definitely afraid."

Kakarot looked down at his hands and saw them trembling, he said, "Right now I can't stop shaking and my heart is beating faster than it ever has before… but…" Kakarot flashed a wide smile and said, "But this is the moment a Saiyan should be the most excited. When his life is on the line. During moments like these the only thing they can think about is throwing a punch. Besides…"

Kakarot scowled angrily and said, "I'm done killing people who didn't deserve to die just because some "pink lizard" said it was my job. I'm done being your lackey or one of your soldiers, I won't kill for anyone but myself. I'll choose who to fight and kill, not you."

Freeza could hardly believe what he was hearing, Kakarot voiced his fear and yet he still chooses death. He questioned if Kakarot had really gone insane, but a thought crossed his mind which enraged him. He thought to himself, "This lowly cur doesn't fear me."

Freeza's power alone should strike fear into anyone who dares to defy him but for whatever reason Kakarot was an exception. He simply feared something more than him and that's something Freeza couldn't understand. He couldn't begin to guess what Kakarot could fear more than him, after all he's the emperor of the universe after all. No one except for a scarce few should even consider defying him. Freeza then angrily mutters, "You dare?!"

Freeza was visibly angry as a purple aura filled the room in its entirety. The audience froze out of fear, even the other Saiyans looked fearful, Vegeta included. In all his years under Freeza he's never felt such power exude from Freeza before. It was so thick that even though he couldn't detect his battle power without a Scouter he could clearly feel the pressure emanating from Freeza. As a matter of fact, all the Scouters in the room exploded from reading his current power level, one after another. Vegeta muttered under his breath, "I-Is this Freeza's true power?"

Kakarot took a step back as his guards took five steps back; however, he stopped himself and took a shaky step forward and smiled, just to irritate Freeza further. Kakarot thought to himself, "Obviously I can't trust a damn thing you'd say, you had Raditz killed, and he was actually willing to follow your orders. I'll admit I was tempted at first, I'd almost give anything to go back to the good ol' days if the thought didn't make me sick. Then Chichi popped into my head, that old man too. Like hell I'm gonna start killin' again just to save my own hide. Besides, you'd probably just send Zarbon ahead of me and just have him finish me and the planet. I won't allow that to happen, I'm not your slave anymore. Do what you want, I won't follow you blindly ever again."

After a moment of pure rage Freeza stopped himself. He paused for a long moment before smiling and saying, "Fine, if you wish to die so badly then I will accommodate your request. I will give you the death you supposedly desire in a week's time. Brace yourself for a fate worse than death."

Freeza then ordered his frightened troops to escort him back to his cell. After the shock of Freeza's power wore off everyone got to doing their regular duties. Raditz watched as his brother was taken away grimacing while saying under his breath, "What can I really do for you brother? You're too stubborn to accept my help?"

Later in the day Kakarot sits in his cell next to the window, he speaks to no one in particular in a sad tone, "Sorry Chichi, looks like I really won't be able to come back. This is better anyway; your planet deserves some peace after what I put it through."

This is when Raditz appears in front of the window and says, "Please Kakarot."

Kakarot lets out a groan and said, "My answer hasn't changed."

Raditz is in the middle of his rebuttal when Kakarot cuts him off and says, "I went through a lot of thinkin' on that rock. A lota reflectin' on what I've done, what we have done and after everything I think I'm fine with dying."

Raditz breathed an exasperated sigh before asking, "Why Freeza then? You could go to some other world and have a battle to the death there."

Kakarot said in response, "It isn't about Freeza, it's about the others I've hurt or killed. Besides, If I escape, I'll make trouble for the lot of you. I might hate Vegeta and I might find Nappa pretentious, but I don't want em' to suffer by Freeza just cause I wanted to go off and die somewhere else."

Raditz finally loses his cool and says with a slightly raised voice, "Damn it Kakarot, what did this "earth" do to you? You've grown so… so…"

Kakarot interrupted him mid-sentence, raising his own voice in a controlled fury, "Don't you dare reduce all of this to me growing soft!"

After this Kakarot pauses as he restrains himself, he then says in a lower tone while crossing his arms, "Don't you dare look down on me just because I grew a conscience, I'm a murderer and I deserve what's comin' to me."

He then said, "Despite all of our differences, I'm glad I got you as a brother. I'm truly proud to call you, my brother."

Raditz tried to force out a response but found he had nothing to say to him. He clenched his fists as he raised them slightly above his waist. He contemplated throwing caution to the wind and forcing Kakarot to comply with a prison break. After all what could Kakarot do about Raditz breaking him out right now, if he fought back against him in any way things could get complicated for the both of them.

However, after a couple seconds of hesitation Raditz loosened his fists and dropped them to his sides in defeat. He slumped over and flew away, completely giving up on this conversation. He couldn't understand Kakarot's change in character. He didn't know him to be suicidal, he'd only ever seen Kakarot like this as a child. Back when they first started conquering worlds for Freeza, he was so full of guilt and doubt before adjusting to that lifestyle. Raditz desperately wanted to blame the earthlings for all of this. He wants to take all of this confusion he's feeling and rain it down on the people who he wants to blame for Kakarot's new outlook on his life so far.

Raditz, however, is smarter than that. He has seen the signs of these mushy feelings before he departed for earth. The mere fact Kakarot was acting more brotherly to him was proof enough. At first Raditz viewed this as him finally making leeway in their relationship. Looking back Raditz imagined that Kakarot might have been dealing with these feelings under the surface and recent events only enhanced those feelings, bringing them to the surface. Raditz curses under his breath, "Damn it all! If only I'd not failed in my mission. No, I shouldn't have been in contact with him, in the first place."

Raditz breathed out an exhausted sigh, he knew it was pointless, Freeza had decided he would die on that planet, so it was simply impossible for him to succeed in a mission Freeza wanted him to fail. Raditz knew that his mistake was agreeing to stay in contact with him. If Kakarot had heard from Freeza of his death, then he would never have discovered Freeza's treachery. He would be living a lie, but Freeza would lose interest in targeting him, or at least Raditz hoped he would. As terrible the literal hell he experienced was, he would rather suffer through that than know his brother was about to meet the same fate.

Raditz suddenly said, "What would you do father?"

Raditz landed on an empty street and right then it began to rain as if to adjust the literal atmosphere to his current mood. Raditz let out a deep sigh as he looked up at the clouds above, lamenting his bad luck.

This is when Raditz looked forward and saw Vegeta and Nappa standing in front of him. Vegeta's arms were crossed as he looked at him with a deep frown, Nappa sat on a bench but stood up upon seeing Raditz. Raditz was uncertain why they were waiting for him here. Suddenly Vegeta says something he didn't expect, "What's with that defeated look?"

Raditz paused and started to say, "Well… I…" Raditz couldn't finish his sentence. Vegeta then scoffed and said, "Spit it out already! For what reason do you look so pathetic?"

Raditz couldn't think of a response before Nappa chimed in, "Of course he's given up, he's not like the rest of us. He's a coward, just like his brother."

Suddenly Raditz stopped what he was thinking about, he scowled at Nappa while muttering, "What the hell did you just say?"

Nappa chuckled and said while levitating into the air, "I said you two rejects don't belong with us. You both should just drop dead; it would do us all a big favor."

Raditz then let out an irritated response, "I'm warning you Nappa, if you mouth off again, I'll show you how little your status matters to me."

Nappa let out a short laugh before saying, "Try me you pile of trash. I should have taken care of the two of you a long time ago, saved us a lot of trouble."

Raditz raised his arms and spoke through a raised voice, "That's it, I don't care for you crap right now Nappa. Words never worked for you anyway, so I'll just shut you up myself!"

Nappa then flew away with Raditz pursuing him. Vegeta watched as they left and gave a wry smile before following them into the rainy sky. Meanwhile Raditz charged at Nappa who was now flying above a stormy ocean, on the far edges of Freeza's base. Raditz caught up to him and swung at him with a right hook, "I should have done this a long time ago!" After blocking two more blows from Raditz, Nappa said, "This is rare, you've never even raised your voice to me before."

Raditz barked back while going for a kick to Nappa's kidney which he blocked with his right knee, "I know, I was so damn scared of you two that I could barely hold a conversation around you."

Nappa added a stretched out, "But…"

Raditz immediately said while throwing a punch which Nappa catches with his left hand, "But I'm threw with being so damn cautious, so cowardly and weak that all I can do while Freeza prepares to execute my brother is gawk at them."

Nappa immediately said with a smile, "That's the spirit!"

Nappa then grips the fist Raditz just threw at him and circles around him placing his arm behind Raditz's back putting him in a joint lock. Nappa then says, "I'll be the first to admit that I never thought you'd amount to anything."

Nappa then used his free hand to grab the back of Raditz's head after which he continued, "You'd always take the easy way out of a fight. Playing dead, taking a hostage, or just hiding behind your brother. That happened recently, didn't it?"

Raditz was in the middle of saying, "Just what the hell are you blabbering- gah agh!"

Without letting Raditz finish his sentence Nappa forced Raditz's whole body into the water below while he glided just above the surface. Nappa immediately said, "Shut up, I wasn't finished!"

After half a second passes Nappa pulls him from the water and waits another few seconds to let him spit up the water he swallowed and catch his breath. Raditz does his best to glare at Nappa despite the position he has been put in. Nappa continues, "As I was saying, you didn't care about the fight, all you cared about was surviving no matter what. You would even throw Kakarot under the bus if it meant living another five minutes."

Nappa then smiled and said, "It's nice to see you've finally grown a backbone."

Raditz scoffed and said back, "What? Does my status not matter to you anymore, am I supposed to believe that you had a change of heart?"

Nappa grumbled and rolled his eyes after which he said, "Don't get me wrong, low class Saiyans are garbage. I won't be paying you any favors out of pity for mistreating you."

Nappa let out an arrogant laugh and said, "As if I'd go soft like that. No, you and Kakarot have just shown me that every now and then a Low Class can act impressive, maybe even get somewhat close to the likes of me and Vegeta. It's not like Kakarot was the first, that Bardock guy was a pretty big outlier. 10,000… Damn."

Nappa let out a breath and said, "Wew, like I'd ever expect a low class to reach Vegeta's level."

Raditz suddenly said out of surprise of hearing Bardock get mentioned, "Father?"

Suddenly a third voice chimed in, "That's enough out of you!"

Nappa flinched at the voice and looked back at Vegeta who was watching them with a scornful look on his face, his arms still crossed as he looked down at Nappa. He was clearly unhappy at having himself be compared to a low class Saiyan. Nappa began to stutter, "Oh, uh, sorry V-Vegeta I got caught up in the m-moment. Didn't mean to insult you."

At this point the pair had stopped flying through the sky and were now floating just above the stormy waters. Vegeta shook his head and said, "I'll ignore it for now, just release him. I didn't have you start a fight for the fun of it."

Nappa quickly nodded and said, "R-right."

He then released his grip on Raditz allowing him to float away from Nappa by a couple feet while he stretched his sore arm. Raditz then looked at Vegeta and said, "I'm guessing that stunt was to get us away from prying ears."

Vegeta let out a grunt in response before saying, "Before anything I want to ask you, have you given up on your brother? After all the crap he's put himself through."

Raditz looked confused for a moment before his face shifted to a serious expression and he finally said, "No, I haven't given up, not yet at least."

Vegeta gave him a smirk and said, "Good, we have a lot to discuss."

The full week passes and Kakarot is feeling much better. He isn't fully healed but he believes he's in a good enough condition to utilize his full power, though Kakarot had doubts he would get to use it. Kakarot grimaced as he flexed his arms he noted, "I barely feel em', I hope that's cause of these damn cuffs."

Kakarot had been denied his shots due to his crimes, so it was possible that his condition had gotten worse. Though Kakarot was no doctor, so he pushed the thought to the back of his mind and instead focused on more important matters. Kakarot let out a depressed sigh before saying to himself, "Guess this is my last day. Wonder what the hell Freeza has prepared for me."

Something occurred to Kakarot in this moment, "I never asked Raditz what hell was like. I'm bound to go there so I guess I'll find out in an hour or so."

Suddenly Kakarot hears a knock at the door and immediately realizes that it's time. A familiar voice orders him to stay five feet from the door. Kakarot complied and raised his voice, "I'm ready." Afterwards the door opened and Cui along with a full platoon of soldiers stepped into the cell, circling his front. Cui immediately barked an order, "Stay still and don't even think about trying anything."

Kakarot complied with what Cui said without saying anything back at him. This is when a soldier stepped forward with the arm cuffs that Freeza had put on Kakarot during his trial. Kakarot did as told and was soon escorted out of his cell and out of the building. On the way to his unknown destination Kakarot wonders what Freeza has in store for him. He thinks to himself, "I did a good job at pissin' em' off. I doubt this will be painless, then again he might make it boring."

Kakarot imagined being kneeled on a platform and stuck waiting on a long ceremony where he would have his crimes repeated to him and preaching about the consequences of defying Freeza. Kakarot lets out a deep sigh as he is pushed toward a large dome shaped building. This confused Kakarot, he figured he would be headed for one of Freeza's throne rooms, but he was unfamiliar with this building. He hadn't seen much of the base since he had only been outside a few times while being escorted to his cell and elsewhere.

Once inside he was surprised to find that he was shoved into what looked like a locker room. Right then Cui pulled out a remote controller and pressed it, and in response all of Kakarot's restraints were unlocked. A pair of loud thuds hit the ground as Kakarot's restraints fell to the ground. Kakarot had a confused look on his face as he stretched and grasped where the restraints were. Right then Kakarot looked at Cui as he said, "You better be grateful, Lord Freeza set up something special just for you."

Another soldier said, "Lord Freeza selected you some armor to wear. You better not take his generosity for granted."

They closed the door without giving Kakarot a chance to say anything in response. Kakarot looked over at a table which had an older model to the armor Vegeta wears. Kakarot mused, "What could he have in store for me to require a new set of armor."

Kakarot paused briefly after saying that only to say with a slightly raised voice, "Why would he even care to give me a new pair at all?"

Kakarot shook his head trying to not think about it too much. He hesitantly put on the armor; blue undersuit included. It was a completely white battle jacket with no shoulder pads. It didn't even have any pads on his waist, instead he wore a blue undersuit which covered his whole body except for his hands and head. It was the same type of under suite Vegeta wore. Kakarot put the white lace less shoes on but then felt up his arms. He could barely feel them, his condition hadn't gotten any better. By now Kakarot wondered if the Doctor's assessment was inaccurate, obviously it was getting worse by the day. Kakarot guessed that all of his fighting on Earth as well as the injuries he had Raditz gave him worsened his arms.

Kakarot shook his head and tore the sleeves off of his blue undersuit exposing the scars on his arms. He decided he'd rather feel the air pass over his arms than suffocate them further in a stiff undersuit. Besides that, he found he enjoyed the loose clothing Chichi made for him over the skintight undersuit they wanted him to wear. He did keep the gloves though and then gave himself a lookover in a nearby full-body mirror. Kakarot didn't quite like the look, the armor didn't feel as comfortable as it used to. Kakarot shook the thought from his head, he then equipped a green Scouter that was left for him. He thought to himself, "I don't really need it but just in case I should keep up appearances. Don't know what Freeza has in store for me, I should keep Ki sensing under wraps until the time is right."

After this he raised his voice slightly, "Alright, I'm ready, let's get this over with!"

Suddenly a platform in the middle of the room opened up. A pedestal that reached up to Kakarot's chest rose from the open platform. The top of the pedestal was shaped like a large bowl. At one side of the pedestal were two large openings which were obviously meant to rest someone's hands in. Kakarot already guessed what he was looking at which is why the following message didn't surprise him, "Put your hands in the restraints."

Kakarot let out a mildly annoyed groan before doing as he was told. He laid his hands into the "bowl", resting his wrists in the opening which fit perfectly. Right then he heard a click and a hiss and suddenly the top of the "bowl" closed in over his hands, sealing them in place. Kakarot felt the cold metal trap his hands in place. He lets out an annoyed grunt before he feels his body shift upward. Kakarot knew immediately that he wasn't using his Ki, so he looked below him and saw the floor around the pedestal was rising upward. Kakarot's next reaction was to look above him and when he did this, he saw that an opening was made above him, the exact amount of space he was standing on.

Once Kakarot's head rose above the opening in the ceiling he got a good look at his surroundings. Kakarot saw that he was in the middle of a football field sized dirt field and at the edges of this field was a thick white walls that reached above a few feet, several feet above Kakarot's height and at the top of them were bleachers stacked upon bleachers, filled with hundreds of Freeza Soldiers and at the very top was a glass wall and behind it were more soldiers only they didn't have access to seats.

Kakarot looked around him astonished, upon seeing that he was inside a massive stadium with a dome covering the top of the stadium Kakarot couldn't help but smile at the grandeur of everything. He then saw Freeza sitting in his hover chair with Zarbon and Dodoria on a slightly raised section to the bleachers behind him. He frowned at the sight of them, a step below them was a platform where his Royal Guard stood with their arms placed behind their back in a dutiful manner.

Kakarot's eyes continued to drift around at the crowd, he thought to himself, "I knew it would be public, but this is…"

Kakarot's thoughts drift when a loud blaring sound forces the crowds to quiet down. Freeza speaks into a microphone provided to him by a blue reptilian alien called Appule. After Freeza taps on the mic the crowd quiets down which is when he finally speaks in a pleased tone, "Welcome Saiyan, to your execution by colosseum."

Kakarot blinked out of surprise before Freeza spoke in a slightly raised voice, "I promised you a fate worse than death, consider this an appetizer."

Freeza thought to himself, "I'll break his body first, I want him kneeling before I tear down his pride."

Freeza then said, "You said you wouldn't kill for me, consider this my response to that foolish statement."

As if on cue the corners of his arenas opened up and four, four legged beasts crept into the arena and immediately began to circle Kakarot like sharks. As a matter of fact, Kakarot recognized these creatures as Fukai-same. They are the native animals that made conquering this planet such a bloodbath, literally. They were lean looking animals that walked on four webbed feet with talons at the end of their flippers and hands. They were dark blue with a gray underbelly, with dark beady eyes. Serrated edged fins were placed along the top and sides of their body with three being placed on their back. An additional fin was placed on one side of all four of their limbs, all were razor sharp. Lastly their head was shaped like a hammerhead shark with two razor sharp fins placed on the sides of their head as opposed to their other serrated fins. Quick beastial chirps and inhuman grunts erupted from the beasts as they stared at Kakarot.

These animals began to make quick and abrupt movements as they circled around Kakarot. They were like a blur for but a moment before returning to a slower pace, this turned into a pattern. Kakarot grimaced at them, he heard all the stories about the conquest of this planet. These animals would use the combination of their blinding speed and sharp fins and claws to perform rapid hit and run tactics. They would rush for your sides and scrape against your body with their sharp fins cutting you up. They would let their enemies bleed to death after making several super fast passes at you, never going for a direct hit until they were ready to finish you.

They are gruesome predators but what is shocking to Kakarot is that they are standing on dry land. There is no such thing as dry land on this planet, they only have limps to make grasping prey or attach themselves to larger animals. This is when Kakarot noticed a line of tubes embedded into them pumping water and what looked like chemicals into their body. Kakarot spoke under his breath, "That's why they haven't decided to take a bite. Freeza has them collared with meds."

Freeza then said with a bright smile, "Now kill for me monkey, that is unless you want to be torn apart by a pack of rabid animals."

Freeza then put a hand under his chin as he said, "Well… that would be entertaining to watch too."

Freeza then gave Appule an order, "Start the first round."

Appule barked out, "Yes, Lord Freeza!"

Appule then pressed a button installed into the podium and after that a brief beep was heard. Suddenly the restraints that held Kakarot in place freed his hands. At the same time a deep red liquid flooded the tubes in the Fukai-same. They began to make guttural sounds as they began sprinting around Kakarot at full speed. Kakarot let out an irritated grunt, having his suspicions confirmed that they were being kept docile with the use of drugs. Now a new concoction was driving them rabid.

Kakarot disliked the current circumstances which caused him to hesitate which is when two of the four animals suddenly scraped by his left and right side. Kakarot managed to brace himself and because of this his body withstood their first pass at him. However, Kakarot noted they did scratch him. The cut wasn't deep, but it was alarming, nonetheless. Another two took another pass at him, this time he jumped into the air avoiding them only to be cut off by a third one leaping for him in the air. This attack scraped against his back, cutting clean through the back of his armor. Kakarot felt a sharp pain in his back but had to ignore it as he made a hasty landing. One last Fukai-same attempted to go for his left leg which is when Kakarot made a reaction. Kakarot nailed it in its back with a right hook which drilled it into the ground. Before it could recover Kakarot stomped down on its back with the leg that the animal was aiming for, crushing it to death in an instant.

After a half a second Kakarot heard Freeza begin to laugh, "Oh-hohohohoho! Looks like you killed the poor thing."

Kakarot grimaced at the still body of the creature he just killed. He frowned at it as he thought to himself, "These were just another victim of Freeza's. They ain't even supposed to be on dry land, Freeza just had some bastards in lab coats mess with 'em enough so he could see them tear to shreds."

Kakarot scowled and then yelled, "Fine then, I'll put em' out of their misery."

Freeza let out another chuckle before Kakarot got into a low fighting stance. Right then when another two passed by him, he took a step to his right dodging the one to his left. As for the one to his right, Kakarot caught it under his right arm, getting a tight grip of it and pressing it against his right side. The Fukai-same within Kakarot's grasp began scratching and shaking its body about wildly. It tore at Kakarot's armor, shredding the metal and scratching up the blue under suite. Unfortunately for it, he couldn't breach Kakarot's actual skin, he was more than prepared. Kakarot then briefly said, "I'm sorry, I'll make it quick." Suddenly Kakarot flexed his arm and with a snap and a whimper the animal's body went limp. Kakarot then released his hold of it, allowing it to drop onto the ground.

The last two charged Kakarot head on but Kakarot simply waved his hand across from his front. Right then the two animals were sent flying into the bleachers with the shockwave caused by Kakarot making this motion. The remaining Fukai-same were dead upon impact and as a bonus they took several members of the crowd with them but not by a lot. The audience began to panic and move away from the dead animals. Kakarot then raised his arms above his waist and just as Kakarot began to speak his formally purple aura which was now a light violet burst forth, "I'm not playing your games Freeza! This round was a mercy killing. You better send your own men next time!"

Freeza frowned before letting out a bored sigh while laying his head on his resting fist, he said, "Fine then, as you wish."

Freeza thought to himself, "I wanted that to last a bit longer, but it seems the Saiyan is keen on ruining my fun."

Freeza then said while lazily shaking his other hand into the air, "Next round."

Appule nodded while barking, "Yes, Lord Freeza!" He then pressed another button which is when a green liquid began to rain across the stadium. It's at this point that a looming question re-emerged from Kakarot's mind. He didn't have much time to think about it due to the Fukai-same, but he now had a good idea why. He thought to himself, "I was wonderin' why they didn't just throw me in a tank of water during the first round. Why go to the trouble of setting 'em up for dry land and pumping them full of tubes ov' water and meds when they could save themselves the trouble and just dunked me into a tank with an airmask and some blood to entice them?"

It became clear that they wanted the floor mostly dry for this part of the event. Kakarot recognized the green liquid, so it wasn't a surprise when several medium sized green creatures began sprouting from the ground. But not just green, a couple blue, purple and even black creatures came out. Creatures Kakarot recognized these creatures immediately, Kakarot grimaced as he was now surrounded by a large pack of rabid creatures all collectively called "Saibamen.".
