It has been a month since the dragons had left her kingdom and they had been in alliance. Everything seemed to be going super well as profits were going up with new items traded with the kingdom and many newcomers. Ever since their treaty was signed and their doors were opened to all dragons, Lucy had been seeing lots of people come and go. It was fascinating to see their kingdom receive new citizens and supplies and she was even pleased to see the kingdom was enjoying the new changes instead of hating it.
She had even gotten praise from her own father about the success of their treaty and Lucy couldn't find it in herself to be so down anymore.
Ever since that night when she had last seen Natsu, Lucy's mood had been out of the roof. Sure, she was upset the next morning when she woke up to an empty bed but the memories that flooded her were too warming to keep her feeling cold from his absence.
She could even feel the ghost of his lips and his hands on her body, leaving her feeling too hot to even feel any type of bitterness or sadness.
And finding a simple note from the dragon king on her nightstand, Lucy had spent that whole day smiling.
See you soon, my star.
With his messy scribbles, it took her a minute to even read the note but once she had figured out what it said, she was beaming with joy and even rolling around on her bed like some love-sick girl.
She couldn't believe she was intimate with a man and had lost her purity to someone who was not going to be her husband.
It was such a beautiful thing and Lucy hated the idea of being intimate with anyone else besides Natsu. Even if it was a one time thing, Lucy would cherish that memory forever and she would never allow another man to touch her like Natsu did.
She doubted it would have felt the same and as she kept her secret to herself, Lucy could only walk around the kingdom with a bright smile and sunny personality.
Even speaking with the duke and queen couldn't ruin her mood and as Lucy spent the next month working on her kingdom, fixing up her plan, and digging through her kingdom's archives for more information on her heritage and magic, it had kept her busy long enough.
She even wore his gift every day, styling herself with his heart shaped earrings she adored more than life itself.
Sometimes when she would catch her reflection, she would make sure to stop and brush her hair behind her ear to admire the beautiful earrings. It would simply make her happy enough to carry on the day and she never took them out unless she was bathing or sleeping. It was the one thing Natsu had given her personally and she would be damned if someone had taken these from her. Though, they were much cheaper than anything else in the palace so surely nobody would want to steal them.
Sending letters to the dragon king was hard enough on its own since Lucy could not send a letter without anyone knowing. There were many times she had thought about sneaking out to town and mailing it on her own but she could never find the time.
A new discovery for her as well also turned out that she could now feel the hum of her magic. Maybe what Natsu said was right and he could have woken something up in her but sometimes when Lucy would be in her chambers after a long day and she would be brushing her hair at her vanity, she could sometimes see the soft glow coming from her skin or the flicker of golden light in her orbs.
The first time this happened was a day after the dragon king's departure and she had just gotten out of a bath when her eyes flickered gold.
It scared her and she didn't know what it meant but the low vibrations she felt deep within her chest nearly had her toppling over in her discovery. But after a few days, it had returned back to the same dull sensation and she had yet to see her eyes or skin glow gain.
She wanted to write to the dragon king so desperately and wanted to know if he knew what was going on but there was no way for her to communicate with him. She had kept a journal by her side, acting as if it was a diary but writing letters to Natsu.
Some days she simply wrote about her days but most days she addressed it to him, writing about how much she missed him and how she wishes she could see him again. Questions about his very own kingdom and if he had returned safely floated through the lines.
Natsu was pretty much the only thing and person she thought about.
But now as the days turned into weeks and weeks turned into a month, Lucy couldn't feel her magic anymore and she was back to her same old routines. She was soon finding herself in a constant loop and it was making her bored, again. And having to deal with suffocating people like the Duke and the queen was already souring enough but by the time it was a month in, Lucy was back to feeling like her old self.
Surely she couldn't believe that she would be happy forever. She was content up until word of her wedding constantly fluttered around and then having to help organize the whole thing was draining her further. Thankfully the Duke had been extra busy in the last month as well so she didn't see or hear from him as much unless he was at the palace for a meeting. But even at that, the princess made sure she could avoid him at all costs, giving her polite curtsy towards him when she does.
Sitting around a bouquet of flowers, Lucy could only sigh to herself as her maids busied themselves and her step-mother got all things organized for her upcoming wedding in the next two months.
While Lucy had continued to go down the path of her fated life, the only thing that helped her daily was the thought of Natsu. Even though he had brought such light into her life, she knew it wouldn't be forever and couldn't be the one thing she held onto.
Once she got married, she would be damned for life. As the wife of the Duke, she would be subjected to more negativity and more stress.
She couldn't possibly live and hope that one day, things would get better, because at the end of the day, this was not a fairytale and she couldn't wish for her dragon to come rescue her.
Lucy spent nearly every day looking at her special dagger she kept for her wedding day. A beautiful silver jewel encrusted dagger that was the perfect length to hide in one's sleeve and the weapon of choice Lucy had picked out to end her life with.
It was pretty cliche of her to plan on plunging a knife into her chest in front of everyone at the chapel but it was the easiest way to do so and with her unable to weld her magic, the dagger would have to do.
Oftentimes, Lucy would even write in her journal apologizing to Natsu. She wished she could have run away with him and started a life with him instead. Apologies for letting him go and bringing him such pains.
And the apology of her one day disappearance, hoping that maybe he would read this one day and see where she was coming from.
As someone as dear as Natsu was to her, Lucy didn't want him to think there was something he could have done to save her. She drowned too many years ago and as she was an empty shell of a person during her many years in this kingdom, Natsu was able to bring her some kind of peace and she found that it was enough to allow her to go without too many regrets.
Natsu got to show her a new side of life and passion and she was grateful for a man like him.
And as she writes, she wishes he will find his own happiness one day.
Even if it wasn't going to be with her.
Sticking to the safety of the royal library, Lucy had been spending most of her days hole up in the massive room. She had tried to go through the hundreds and thousands of books she owned, wanting to find more about her heritage and what the meaning behind the glowing was.
While she had yet to glow once again, Lucy could still feel the softness of her magic that brewed inside of her and that was enough for her to investigate. It would come and go like waves and especially during the night could she feel it the most. Which made sense since her magic came from the very stars above but the question was why? Why couldn't she weld her magic? What was stopping her? Was she just simply too weak to host such powerful energy?
If she could somehow learn how to use magic… it could be different. Things might be able to change.
But she didn't have much time. She only had a mere seven weeks before her wedding and she had spent too much time growing frustrated at the lack of scripts and knowledge.
She could go to the scholars but she did not want anyone knowing what she was doing. She couldn't trust too many people in the kingdom and was afraid her step-mother would find out about her escapade so she kept a tight lid on it. She could only hope that maybe Natsu would be able to dig into it for her and hope this scholar he had was better than the ones she had here.
Hearing the voice of Mrs. Spetto from the other side of the door, the princess looked over to see her head maid enter with a tray of tea and snacks. She set the book she had in her hands down as she approached her desk, a soft smile to her lips.
"Princess, you mustn't overwork yourself. You haven't come out of the library in many days."
"Just making sure I am up to date with my knowledge," Lucy offered a small smile back as she looked down at the tray. It nearly made her heart leap out of her throat when she saw the shortbread cookies sitting alongside some fruit, her immediate thoughts pinning on the dragon king.
You would think the princess would have already known what shortbread cookies taste like.
Her heart squeezed painfully at the memory of her sitting outside in the gardens with Natsu drinking tea and eating sweet treats. She hadn't had anything sweet since he left. The fear that she may gain weight controlled her once again when she didn't have the safety of Natsu's gluttony to pressure her into eating.
She did gain two pounds in the month he was here since she was eating all sorts of things and she did get a nasty look and a couple of words tossed her way so that was all it took for her to resume her diet. She was already down five.
"Is something the matter, princess? Do you not like the spread?"
"No, no," Lucy shook her head, swallowing thickly as she laughed half-heartedly. "I was just simply thinking of something… thank you."
Mrs. Spetto stood by her desk with her lips pressed into a tight line, watching how Lucy plucked the delicate shortbread into her hands to stare at it. She let out a small huff before a small smile spread across her lips, a soft hue of pink dusting the apples of her cheeks.
I heard it's best when dunked in tea, really brings the flavors together.
Wow! This really is good!
Dipping her shortbread into the fresh cup of tea, Lucy brought the softened cookie to her lips to bite into it. A rush of warmth filled her thin body and Lucy couldn't help but smile brightly while chewing on the delicious treat, memories of the dragon king flooding her mind.
Mrs. Spetto could only watch in awe how the once gloomy princess was smiling while eating a sweet treat. It was surprising to see her even go for something like that and while Mrs. Spetto always tried to sneak a sweet treat or so onto her plates, Lucy never once went for it but now? Seeing her pick the shortbread up first and not even hesitate, it brought a comforting warmth to the head maid.
She had not seen her this happy since…
"Do you miss the dragon king, my lady?"
Lucy sputtered out, nearly choking on her tea as she began to cough. She set her teacup down while she grabbed for the napkin, wiping at her mouth and covering her red face.
Mrs. Spetto only gave her a look of amusement, the corners of her eyes crinkling in delight.
"P—pardon?" Lucy knew she was beet red as she stared at her head maid, her eyes wide and jaw slack.
"Princess.. it is okay to miss him." She lowered her voice to speak softly, a motherly look to her face. "Sometimes the heart wants what it wants."
Lucy could only stare at Mrs. Spetto with wide eyes, wondering if she knew about her feelings towards the dragon king, did everyone else know as well? Was she being too obvious for her attraction towards Natsu?
"Do not fret, my lady," Mrs. Spetto chuckled, giving her a wink. "I did not tell a soul."
"H—how did you know?" Lucy decided to ask, knowing that she couldn't lie her way through this.
The sly smile Mrs. Spetto had made her feel a bit nervous but when her facial expression softened, Lucy could only gulp.
"I have been with you since birth, princess and before that, with the late queen. I have seen you grow and know things you may not even know about yourself and I definitely can tell when you are smitten." A slight grin came to her lips and Lucy found herself growing even more embarrassed. "The dragon king is a very charming, handsome man, princess. It is not a bad thing to desire such a strong man like himself."
"M—Mrs. Spetto!" Lucy cried out, placing her hands on her reddened cheeks. "I—it is not like that!"
"You do not have to tell me," she giggled, placing a delicate hand in front of her smiling lips. "But I can see how much you adore the dragon king and as he does you."
Lucy so desperately wanted to hide away now. Admitting out loud that she may actually be in love with another man that isn't her fiancé sounded too crass and Lucy didn't even know if this was what love was. Certainly she thought highly of the dragon king and desired him a lot more than the duke. And she definitely has not even done half the things she has done with Natsu with anyone else and she would be lying if Natsu didn't make her feel all sorts of ways.
His obnoxious laughter. His lethal grin. His soft eyes. His gentle caresses. The rumble of his voice when he speaks to her.
It sent a shiver down her spine and Lucy felt the tips of her ears burn along with her chest, a heavy blush painting her skin.
"You smell heavenly, Lucy, so beautiful."
"Mrs. Spetto…" Lucy spoke softly, keeping her eyes down on her lap as she fiddled with her fingers.
"Yes, princess?"
"Could you…" Lucy squeezed her eyes shut, her heart pounding behind her ribcage. "Could you do something for me without letting word get around?"
"Of course, princess, anything."
—X—
As Lucy was in her chambers that night already bathed and changed into her nightgown, the princess went through the many books she had brought along with her to look for something to lull her to sleep. Her eyes hurt since all she's been doing was reading all sorts of documents and scripts but the urge inside of her to keep digging grew stronger and she was too eager to discover anything new.
Earlier today, the princess had done something she has never done before.
She sent out a letter to the dragon king.
She figured after an entire month of no contact and not seeing him, he would write to her but Natsu had always been the one seeking her out. She was always too afraid to reach out to him and she knew this would go nowhere if she continued to wait for him.
So she secretly had Mrs. Spetto send out a letter to the Dragon kingdom addressed to the dragon king himself and Lucy could only hope he receives the letter and writes back.
While her days consisted of her earlier memories of the dragon king, having Mrs. Spetto say those eye-opening words to her, it gave her the courage to finally send a letter out.
She did miss him. Terribly. He was the first person she thought about as soon as she woke and the last person before she went to bed. Sweet treats reminded her of him. As well as anything pink, red, and of course, the sight of her chambers where Natsu had made love to her.
She would often lay in bed and reminisce about their time together and grow all flushed and flustered at the thought of it.
How amazing he was with just his fingers and tongue. How he could even bring her such pleasure with only parts of his body. How animalistic his groans and grunts were in her ear as he thrusted into her. How perfectly they suited one another.
The kingdom was right about one thing and it was that she and Natsu did suit one another very well.
If only she could see him one last time. She would kiss him gently and whisper sweet nothing in his ears, tell him how much she adored him and how great of a man he was.
How grateful she was to have him in her life and wished for his happiness.
She ended up praying to the very stars for him as well, wonders of what he has been up to in the last month. Wonders of how his life is back at his kingdom. Wonders if he misses her as much as she did.
A soft tap at her balcony doors caught her attention and as the princess' heart rate spiked up at the thought of it being Natsu, she rushed over to her balcony doors to see what the sound was.
As she opened up the doors, the warm rush of the summer night came blowing into her room. Her wide chocolate eyes took in her surroundings, looking for a flash of pink or anything that resembled the dragon king but when she came further out onto her balcony, she was startled at a sight of something sitting on her table set in the corner.
With vibrant blue fur and no bigger than fifteen pounds, Lucy was greeted with a sight of a cat staring at her.
The princess had never seen such a feline with such colored fur and she wondered how he got all the way here.
She took in her surroundings to see if anyone was around and she wondered if this might even be one of the duke's gift. But why would he bring a cat to her balcony and just drop it off without saying a word? Could this cat climb all the way up here on his own? Was he lost?
"Hello there," Lucy said to the kitten who tilted its head to the side. "How did you get here?"
She reached out to allow him to smell her hand and when the cat nudged its head against her hand, she felt a warmth fill her. She giggled softly while running her hand over his soft fur, being gentle when doing so as he began to purr.
"You're adorable," Lucy said while scratching behind his ear which he seemed to love. He was nuzzling into her hold, his purrs growing louder the more she pet him. She went to pick him up, hooking her hands under his armpits to hold him up in the air. "You certainly are happy."
"Aye!"
Lucy screamed as she nearly dropped the cat, throwing herself back as she stumbled back against her door frame. A knock on her bedroom door caught her attention and Lucy was flustered, looking behind her shoulder while the cat seemingly pounced away to safety.
The princess was so baffled that a blue cat just spoke that she was unaware of the knights by her door, shouting if she needed any assistance and why she had screamed.
Lucy could only shake her head, standing up straighter while she placed a hand on her chest, warily looking over to the side to keep an eye out for the cat. "Everything is fine. I just saw a large beetle fly towards me."
Seeing how the princess was alone in her room and seemingly fine, the knights took their leave by addressing her. Once her bedroom door closed shut, Lucy quickly rushed back out to her balcony, looking around for the feline that had nearly scared her out of her bridges.
A talking cat? Sure, she's seen loads of magical creatures that can even weld magic but a talking cat? This was a first for the princess and she didn't even know cats can have blue fur! Where did he come from?
As the princess ducked down to see if the cat had run somewhere behind, once she stood back up, the sight of him sitting on top of her table greeted her. She was baffled at the sight of him so nonchalantly sitting there staring at her as if he didn't just scare her brainless.
"You!" She pointed a finger at him and he blinked up at her. "You can speak?!"
"Aye," he said once again with one small paw up and Lucy had to hold back the shriek that bubbled in her throat. She slapped a hand over her mouth, staring at him with wide eyes as if she couldn't believe it. "You're Lucy, right?"
"Y—yes… I am," Lucy was too stunned to move as she was frozen in place. "How do you know who I am?"
"Aye! I'm here to deliver something to you," He chirped excitedly and it was the first Lucy was seeing of his small sac that was on his back. He flipped the army green colored sac to the front and as he rummaged through that seemingly small bag that probably could only fit a couple of small stones inside, Lucy's eyes widened at the sight of him magically pulling out a decent sized fish.
The princess couldn't help but drop her jaw while seeing a fish nearly as big as him was pulled out of his bag and she scrunched her face up, wondering if this was something he was supposed to deliver to her.
"You came to my chambers late at night to deliver me… fish?" Lucy asked in disbelief, seeing how he just laid out the underwater creature on her table. It made her cringe at the sight and smell of it but when the blue cat looked at her like she had stolen his precious hoard, she was growing confused.
"Why would I give you my fish?" He looked baffled himself, almost as if she had insulted him. "Get your own fish if you're hungry!"
This had to be a dream. Lucy most definitely was not standing on her balcony this late at night arguing with a damn cat of all things. And a talking blue cat at that!
"Why, I never!" Lucy scowled, placing her hand on her chest.
"You look pretty thin," he commented, squinting his eyes at her. "If you're really hungry then maybe you can take a small bite. But only a small one."
"I don't want any of your fish, you damn cat!"
"Ah-ha!" He finally pulled out a damp envelope from his pouch before swinging his bag back on his back. "Here it is!"
"An envelope?" Lucy questioned as he held it out towards her where she slowly reached for it. She cringed at the sight of the fish juice that clung onto it, pinching it by the edge of the sheet while holding it out. "It's wet."
"Well, I didn't know where else to put it! I'm only a small guy!"
Lucy eyed the fish that still laid on her table unmoving and just shook her head, not wanting to make this even weirder for her. Arguing with a blue cat at this hour was definitely not something Lucy thought she would ever partake in but of late, her life had been all sorts of strange.
Deciding to focus her attention on the gross envelope, Lucy tried her best to open it without getting herself covered in the slime but it was almost impossible as it was layered all over it. Realizing that her cautiousness wasn't necessary, Lucy just went ahead and opened up the letter to see what was inside.
The princess immediately recognized the dragon king's messy chicken scratch and gasped, her eyes widening.
"You come from the Dragon kingdom?" Lucy asked, her eyes darting over to the cat who had the head of the fish in his mouth.
He simply nodded his head, chewing on his meal. "Aye. Natsu asked me to deliver that to you!"
Natsu.
Unable to contain her excitement, Lucy came towards the table set to sit down right beside the cat. She kept in mind that he was trying to inhale an entire fish at once so she kept some distance so he didn't splatter anything on her.
"Dearest Princess, I know it has been far too long since we have seen or spoken to each other and I apologize for that. I have been incredibly busy this last month and with our new alliance, we have been working around the clock to accommodate these new changes. That does not mean I have forgotten about you, my star. I still think about you nearly everyday and it is quite lonely without you around. I hope you are well and taking care of yourself. I have much news about your heritage and would love to share them with you. I should be near the Heartfillia kingdom in the next coming weeks, would you be able to shave off some time for a dragon like myself? I would love to see you. I miss you terribly."
Lucy could feel her cheeks flushing as a natural smile spread on her lips. Her heart raced inside her chest while she continued to read the messy script and by the time she was finished reading it, she was re-reading it to bite down on the grin that was stretching across her lips.
Natsu misses her and he's also thinking about her. Could he have already gotten her letter? She just had sent it out today—there was no way he could have already received it! Could he have sent this while thinking about her just like how she did? But he had a companion to bring it to her directly? How long did it take for his cat to even walk all the way over here from the Dragon kingdom? Could he also be magical?
"You liiiiike him." The cat suddenly said, making Lucy snap her head up. Her face was painted crimson as he snickered behind his paws, his cheeks puffed out in a comical way.
"W—what! I—I—!" Lucy was sputtering, unsure why she was trying to justify her feelings to a cat. "How dare you—!"
Lucy gasped when she saw the glow of amber in her hands and she quickly dropped the letter as she watched it start to magically catch itself on fire. Her eyes were wide as she watched the paper start to curl and burn, ridding itself of the evidence of her communication with the dragon king.
"Natsu did that," he pointed out as Lucy now noticed the giant fish was gone. Could he have already eaten that entire thing? How long was she re-reading the letter? "It self-destructs after five minutes."
So five minutes she had been sitting there staring at a letter from Natsu the dragon king himself. Something inside of her ached with the thought of his letter gone missing since she would have loved to cherish it but she understood the reasoning behind it. Natsu was still protecting and thinking about her even from his own kingdom.
And did she truly want to keep a letter that had fish slime and juice all over it?
"I was not aware that the dragons also had… pets. Are cats common over there?" Lucy commented as the blue feline turned to gawk at her.
Lucy blinked at his expression, wondering what she had said for him to stare at her like she had killed his entire litter.
"I am not a pet!" He cried out, standing up on his two feet. "I am Natsu's friend!"
Lucy was taken back by his passionate exclamation of his title towards the dragons and she blinked dumbly at his pouty expression.
"I—I apologize," the princess held her hands up, feeling a bit bad about calling him a pet. "I did not realize. I truly am sorry." Lucy leaned in towards the huffing cat, seeing how he twisted his head away from her.
"Natsu was right. You really are weird!"
What? Natsu thinks she's weird?
Lucy didn't know why that made her feel embarrassed as she pressed a hand to her rosy cheeks, a slight scowl on her face. "I—I am not weird!"
"Sure you are, Lucy!" He seemed to have the attention span of a squirrel as he was back to his chirpy self. "Well, I have to head home now."
"Wait!" Lucy cried out as he was getting himself ready and he froze, looking up at her in confusion. "Is it possible that I could hand you something to deliver to the dragon king?"
"I guess I do have room now because I ate my fish..." He said as if he was debating her request.
"Please!" The princess clasped her hands together, giving him a pleading look.
"Hmm, okay, only because I think you're nice."
Lucy beamed as she stood from her seat, rushing back inside her chambers where she knew where her gift was. She had spent the entire month knitting it and while she wanted to hand deliver it herself, she knew it wouldn't be possible and she wanted to at least gift him something since he always gifted her such things.
It wasn't a lot and as beautiful as the dress he sent her or the earrings she adored but she hoped he would like it.
It was odd to be knitting a scarf for a dragon, especially someone who probably had a lot of resilience to the cold but it was the only thing the princess truly knew how to knit and the easiest. In the last month, she had been working on her stitching so maybe one day she would be able to gift it to him but with a chance like this, she knew it would be the best way.
She even got it enchanted so it was fire proof and would be resistent enough to accommodate a dragon.
This cat was going to be heading right back to the Dragon kingdom and he would be able to give it to Natsu almost immediately.
Realizing that, Lucy quickly grabbed for her paper and quills, wanting to write a quick response back so it didn't seem as if she was ignoring his request. She tucked it in between the layers of the scarf, hurrying back outside.
Coming back out to her balcony, she was relieved to see the cat still standing on top of her table set, waiting for her with those wide eyes of his and adorable face. She handed over the neatly folded cloth in his hands and smiled softly.
"Could you please give this to Natsu and tell him it's from me?"
"You do know Natsu is a dragon and the cold doesn't bother him, right?" He gave her a skeptical look and Lucy just gave him a pinched look.
"I understand that but I just… I did not know what else to make him and I really wanted to gift him something. The dragon king is… very kind to me." Lucy had another soft smile spreading across her lips, her eyes being casted down to look down at her hands. She fiddled with her fingers in anxiousness, thoughts of the fiery dragon flooding her mind. "Please just get that to him safely?"
"Whatever you say, Lucy," he said as he brought his sac in front of him to shove it inside. "I'll make sure to give it to Natsu when I see him."
"Thank you." She gave him a wide smile and she saw how a small smile of his own quirked up. She came closer to him to hold her hand out, wanting to say her goodbyes and give him another pet since he seemed to like it. He seemed to like the gesture because he approached her, purring into the air as soon as she began to scratch at him.
The princess giggled at the sight of him nuzzling into her further. "How will you return home? Are you magical?"
"Duh! You think cats just talk like I do?"
Lucy was dumbfounded at his confident demeanor and she didn't dare correct him. She simply stood there watching with wide eyes as a soft glow began to shimmer around him before a set of wings sprouted from his back. The princess was in awe as she saw the magical being before her.
"An exceed? But I thought that you all went extinct nearly four hundred years ago…"
"Nope!" He chirped happily while spinning in a circle. "We just live with the dragons!"
How the dragons and these little felines got along was a mystery to her. She would think that dragons might find them appetizing and would have eaten them but for him to claim he is Natsu's friend was confusing enough.
Thinking about dragons finding things appetizing made her suddenly think about Natsu and how he was eating her like she was the most appetizing meal there is. Heat flooded down her spine and down to her core making her shiver. Red painted her skin once again and she quickly shook her head, trying to get rid of the lewd thoughts that plagued her mind.
"See you next time, Lucy! Have a good night!"
Lucy was surprised to see the cat was already missing from the table and turned to see him floating in the sky right in front of her balcony. He looked majestic in a way where he kept himself in place, his small paws waving in her direction.
Too baffled to even say anything, Lucy could only hold her hand up to wave goodbye but the sudden thought that popped into her head made her rush over to the edge of the balcony, cupping her hand around her mouth.
"Wait!" She cried out as he turned over his shoulder to look at her. "What is your name?"
"Ehhh? I thought you already knew my name?" He said, cocking his head to the side. "You said it earlier!"
Now it was Lucy's turn to cock her head to the side, giving him a confused scrunched up expression where he just sighed.
Seeing how his wings began to glow and gave the impression of a blue glittery hue, he gave her one last smile. "It's Happy! Don't forget it again!"
Watching in awe how he suddenly shot up into the dark sky and disappeared over the clouds, Lucy could only stand there staring up into the air.
Happy… huh?
The princess found it ironic how Natsu would send his friend name Happy of all emotions to come and deliver a note to her. And Happy claims Natsu said she was the weird one?
How much weirder could she be compared to a pink-haired dragon king who was friends with a blue talking cat named Happy?
Finding herself unable to get rid of her smile on her face, Lucy could only giggle softly to herself before heading back inside to head to bed.
I miss you terribly.
Oh how she terribly misses him, too.
