Season 1, Saga 1: New World, Chapter 6: Techno Teacher
(We go to the Thorndyke Mansion where Sonic returns from his running and walks towards the front door where it is opened by Amy from inside.)
"Hey, where'd you go?" Amy asked
"Just out!" Sonic said
(Sighs lovestruck) "He's so mysterious." Amy thought in her head
(a bit later, everyone was doing their normal things until a phone rang for the butler to answer it.)
(Picks up the phone.) "Thorndyke Residence. Very good, sir." (Hangs up the phone.) "Your father has requested that I inform you that he and your mother will be stopping by for a visit this afternoon." the butler said
"Wow, Ella, they're coming to see me!" Chris said
"What a nice surprise!" Ella said
"It's not even my birthday! Err.. uh oh…" Chris said
"Is there something wrong?" the butler asked
"No, I'm all done! Can I go now?" Chris asked
"Yes, go ahead!" Ella said
"See ya later!" Chris said (grabs his backpack and runs out of the room.)
"Something is up!" Ella said (turns to the butler who shrugs about it.)
(inside Chuck's room above the garage, Zee, Tails and Amy were drinking some tea as Chris was talking to them about where he's going while Sonic is laying on the window seal.)
"I've gotta go to school so I'm counting on you guys to stay out of sight when my parents show up." Chris said
"Gotcha, no problem!" Tails said
"Yeah sure, you can count on us!" Amy said
"It won't be for long. Mom and Dad's visits have to be short because they both have busy schedules." Chris said
"It's like that a lot?" Zee asked
(Sonic gets up and walks off without saying anything.)
"Hey, Sonic! Is he mad at me?" Chris asked
"Don't mind him!" Amy said
"Get going, Chris! You'll be late for school if you don't hurry up!" Chuck said
"Ahh.." (Chris runs down the stairs in a hurry only to fall off and crash on the bottom of the stairs.) "I'm okay!" Chris said
(Zee, Tails, Amy and Chuck let out a breath of relief.)
"Chris sure is happy about his folks visiting, huh Chuck?" Tails asked
"He is." Chuck said
"What did they do?" Amy asked
"Chris' dad is the president of a huge software company. He spends most of his time in the office or travelling on business." Chuck said
"And what about his mom?" Zee asked
"She's a star. A famous actress who jets all around the world making movies." Chuck said
"I bet it's pretty tough for Chris for not having his parents around most of the time." Tails said
"Yes." Chuck said
"He must miss them." Amy said
"Speaking of miss, has anyone seen True?" Zee asked (causes the others to look around wondering where True is.)
(with Chris, he was heading to the school he goes to, but unknown to him, the zipper on the top of his backpack unzipped revealing True inside with a curious look on her face to see what school is. At Eggman's Fortress, Eggman was trying to think of something while Rainbow King was playing a card game with Bocoe.)
"Grr, I've got to think of something... err..AH! I've got to think of a way to conquer this planet! Perhaps the children, maybe one of my robots could brainwash the school kiddies so that they'd love me and honor me and look up to me as a hero and they could persuade their parents to accept me as their ruler!" Dr. Eggman said
"Here are your choices." Decoe said (Passes the cards to Eggman.)
"Hmm, let's see... this is a tough one! I'll let the machine decide!" (Places the cards inside the slot and pulls down the handle.) "Perfect!" Dr. Eggman said
(A teacher-like robot emerges from the runway of the fortress and flies to Chris' school. At the school, the kids were struggling with a math problem on the chalkboard as Stewart was napping.)
"What do you think this is?" a kid asked
"I don't know…" another kid said
"That doesn't make any sense!" Chris said
"I don't even know where to start!" the girl in pink overalls said
"I'm totally lost!" a third kid said
"Should we wake him up?" Chris asked
"No, don't!" Danny said
"Maybe he'll put us to sleep!" the girl in pink overalls said
(pokes her head out from inside Chris' backpack worried about the others struggling with the problem on the board.) "Oh boy, if only I could help with it." True thought in her mind (ducks back into Chris' backpack from hearing a click from the door handle.)
"My, my! What an intelligent-looking class!" (surprises the students from entering the room as Stewart woke up from hearing the robot enter.) "Oh, perhaps I've arrived during nap time!" the robot teacher said
"Uh, I'm sorry, what are you?" Mr. Stewart asked
"Hmm, I'll give you 3 guesses, young man!" the robot teacher said
"You're a robot?" Mr. Stewart asked
"A robot teacher! Hmm, goodbye! I'm taking over!" the robot teacher said
"You are?" Mr. Stewart asked
"I am!" the robot teacher said
"How's that-" (the robot teacher picks up Mr. Stewart and tosses him out of the room, closing the door behind.) "They're replacing me with a robot, huh? Wait 'til I give the principal a piece of my mind!" Mr. Stewart said
(inside the Principal's office, the Principal was relaxing in his chair as he was drinking some hot chocolate.)
"Delicious!" the Principal said
(barges into the room, startling the Principal.) "HOW DARE YOU- oh!" (stops mid-sentence from realizing he accidentally scared the Principal causing him to splash his hot chocolate onto himself.) "I'm glad to know that you never hired that robot. My students will be relieved too!" (hears something inside the classroom and looked through the window to see the students are giggling)
"And that's how to crack an equation! Mathematics is a breeze when you keep your eye on the pi!" the robot teacher said
"Now it's starting to make sense!" Chris said
"It's easy!" the girl in pink overalls said
"Mmmm, alright!" Danny said
"That robot is a great teacher! Sit in on his class and study his technique!" the Principal said (Pats Mr. Stewart on the back and chuckles before walking away.)
(Groans in a whiny voice while clutching his fists) "But sir..." Mr. Stewart said
(Stewart then heard the students cheering and looked through the window to see what was going on.)
"Thank you, class! It's an honor to teach you!" the robot teacher said
"There's something fishy here! I better check this out with headquarters!" (Mr. Stewart sneaks into the boy's bathroom and speaks to someone on a communicator watch.) "Come in, this is 'Chalkboard Charlie' calling homeroom with a cold, red priority alert." Mr. Stewart said
"Let me get this straight, you want us to send in our land, sea and air forces because a robot kicked you out of your classroom?" a communicator man asked
"Roger, I'll transmit my coordinates." Mr. Stewart said
(Imagines the army surrounding the school only to laugh about it.) "Wait until HQ hears this!" a communicator man said (Thumps on the desk.)
(yelps in pain from the earpiece letting out an exploding sound, Stewart then groans from the pain as the earpiece falls out of his ear.) "Seems like we're having technical difficulties! I'll have to go to the police!" Mr. Stewart said
(at the police station, a police officer was chowing down on a bunch of fast food meals until he answered the phone while eating a burger.)
"So, you were assaulted by a robot who took over your class and now he's holding all your students as prisoners? Stay right there, I'll be over in a jiffy to investigate." the police officer said
"Where is that cop? He's late!" (he then hears a police alarm and sees the police car.) "Well, finally! Hurry, hurry, hurry!" (runs ahead as the police officer was walking with a burger in his hand.) "Come on, officer, the kids are in danger, let's move it! Just remember, the robot's dangerous!" (Mr. Stewart quickly opens the classroom door to find the classroom is empty.) "That mechanical menace kidnapped the kids!" Mr. Stewart said
(Outside, the robot teacher and the students along with True who is now part of the group were in the baseball field behind the school.)
"I've always wanted to play baseball. Shall we?" (Kids cheer in agreement.) "Well, what are we waiting for? Play ball!" the robot teacher said
(runs into the scene and stops near the baseball field with the officer following from behind.) "Right there! You knock it down and I'll attempt to disable its power supply! There's no time to lose!" Mr. Stewart said
"Remember to keep your wrist relaxed all through the pitch, like so! You see?" the robot teacher said (helps Chris with how to throw the baseball.)
"It doesn't seem like these kids are in danger to me, in fact, it looks like they're having a great time! I wish I was out there playing!" the police officer said (continues to eat the burger he brought along
"Stop pigging out and arrest him!" Mr. Stewart said (Snatches the officer's burger.)
"Oy! I'm nailing you for burger burglary!" (Chases Mr. Stewart) "Drop that sandwich, scumbo!" the police officer shouted
(meanwhile at Eggman's Fortress, Eggman and the others were doing their usual things until Eggman decided to check in on his robot.)
"I wonder if Intelligente has successfully brainwashed those brats into admiring me yet! I better look and see if it's going!" (but when he turned on the screen to see the school, he saw Intelligente was playing baseball with the students along with True.) "Errgh, what's this?!" Dr. Eggman asked in anger
"I'm ready!" Intelligente said
"Put it over the plate!" Danny said
"You can do it! Throw him a curveball!" (Chris throws the ball, which Intelligente hits it high.) "Mr. Intelligente is amazing!" the girl in pink overalls said
"My first home run! How thrilling! Baseball is such an exhilarating activity!" Intelligente said
"Intelligente sure is a hit with his students. They love him." Decoe said
"He's supposed to make those kids love me, not himself!" Dr. Eggman shouted
"Making others love you isn't very nice you know." Rainbow King said
(whispers) "best not anger the doctor, you won't like him when he's like that." Bocoe whispered
(whispers) "oh my." Rainbow King said
(at Thorndyke Mansion, the butler opened the front doors for two adults that are Chris' parents to come in, a man in a yellow tuxedo and a female in a pink dress.)
"Thank you." Chris' parents said
"Lindsey, Nelson." Chuck said
"Good to see you, dad." Nelson said
"Hello, father. How is everything going here at home?" Lindsey asked
"Wonderfully well, now that the two of you are here." Chuck said
"When does Chris get back home from school?" Nelson asked
(without warning, they heard something break close by and turned to the sound to find Zee next to a broken cup on the floor as Zee looked nervous about it.)
"Sorry." Zee said
"Who's that?" Nelson asked
"That's Zee, one of the two little kids that are living with us until we can find out where their homes are, haven't seen the other though, can't seem to find her." Chuck said
"I just hope the little one is alright." Lindsey said
(outside the window, Tails and Amy were looking through the window to see them as Sonic was on the roof resting.)
"Chris' dad seems like a nice guy." Tails said
"His mom is really pretty!" (Looks at Sonic.) "Don't you think so, Sonic?" Amy asked
(keeps his eyes closed and has an annoyed look on his face.) "Mmm…" Sonic said
(Sadly) "Oh.." Amy said
(back at the school, Intelligente and the kids were still playing baseball as True was up to bat.)
"Yay! Go, True! Knock it out!" the kids cheered
(Once Danny threw the baseball, True swung the bat hard and hit it high, surprising the others.)
"Wow, nice shot!" Chris said
"That is gone!" the girl in pink overalls said
(Intelligente rockets to the air, catching the ball in mid-air.)
"That's the greatest catch ever!" Chris said
"Woah, he's cool!" the girl in pink overalls said
"Oh well, well, well! Seems that the retro thrusters aren't as rusty as I thought!" (Chuckles) "Reminds me of the early days on the cricket field from when I was no bigger than a laptop!" Intelligente said (Chuckles.)
(flies in and lands beside Intelligente.) "Message for you." the robot said
"Huh?" (turns to the robot from hearing its voice) "Bokkun!" Intelligente said
"Dr. Eggman has a message for you." Bokkun said
"Hmm, a message?" Intelligente asked
"How would you like to visit the junkyard!" Bokkun shouted
"Do you mean he's sniffed at me?" Intelligente asked
"Sure the doc said he's angry at you that those kids are supposed to get stuck on him, not you, bucket brain!" Bokkun said
"That used to be my mission!" (Bokkun grunts angrily.) "I'm afraid that's all changed!" Intelligente said
"Huh, how come?" Bokkun asked
"I was sent here to make these students admire Dr. Eggman, but I found it more rewarding to be admired myself!"
"What?! You blew a circuit or something?! Don't you know Dr. Eggman will turn you into scrap metal, you barrel of bolts!" Bokkun said
"Mr. Intelligente, what's going on?" True asked
"Dr. Eggman may do with me as he wishes, but I refuse to abandon the students in my charge!" Intelligente said
"You're the greatest teacher I've known! I wish all teachers were as great as you are!" the girl in pink overalls said
"Me too!" Chris said
"Same here!" Danny said
"Oh... thank you... that's wonderful!" Intelligente said (Makes "crying" sounds)
"Stop crying and teach those kids to admire Dr. Eggman!" (drops to his knees, starting to cry.) "Now I'm crying!" Bokkun said
(back at Eggman's Fortress, Eggman, Rainbow King, Decoe and Bocoe had seen the whole thing on the screen.)
"He lost it." Decoe said
"That crybaby! They should like me!" Dr. Eggman said
(back at the school, the bell had rang ending the day.)
"I'll see you all tomorrow, class!" Intelligente said
"Me and True gotta hurry home now, guys!" Chris said
"Yeah, how come?" the girl in pink overalls said
"Chris' parents are coming home for a visit, Frances." True said
"Yeah, it's not often I get to see them! See ya!" Chris said
(but before True and Chris could head back to the mansion, they saw Eggman's Egg Mobile hovering over and stopping close to the ground.)
"Intelligente!" Dr. Eggman shouted
"Oh my hard drive, it's you!" Intelligente said
"I bet you think you're smart for disobeying my orders, you transistorized traitor, but I'll fix you!" Dr. Eggman said (jumps out of his Egg Mobile and straps a tool vest around himself which scares Intelligente.)
"No, please don't disassemble me!" (rushes over to True and Chris in panic.) "True, Chris, help me get away!" Intelligente said with fright
"Huh, but what about what you said that a few minutes ago when you swore you'd never abandon us no matter what Dr. Eggman threatened to do to you?" Chris asked
"I really said 'no matter what'?" Intelligente asked
"You did!" Frances said
"We all heard it!" Danny said
"I suppose there's no way around it! What was I thinking?" Intelligente asked (winces from hearing Dr. Eggman laugh)
"What's so funny?" Chris asked
"You really don't believe that snivelling circuit box plans to keep his promise! I'm ordering him to keep you in detention where you will be forced to respect me!" Dr. Eggman said
"No way!" Chris said
"He wouldn't!" True said
"What a snake!" Danny said
"Listen robot, unless you want to end up in a scrap heap, you will follow my orders!" Dr. Eggman said
(panics from the thought of being taken apart, only to salute Eggman.) "Yes, sir!" Intelligente said
"Me and True aren't staying! We've gotta go home!" Chris said
(grabs True and Chris by the back of their shirt collars.) "Not so fast! You'll stay in detention with the rest 'til Dr. Eggman dismisses you!" Intelligente said
(back at Thorndyke Mansion, Zee, Chuck and Lindsey were worried about Chris while Nelson was in panic.)
"I wonder what's keeping Chris. He knows that you two are here to see him." Chuck said
"What if there's been an accident?" Lindsey asked
"I hope nothing happened." Zee said
"I'm sure my security people would find out and contact me." Nelson said
"You're right. He's probably playing with his friends and simply hasn't noticed the time." Lindsey said
(inside the kitchen, Ella and the butler were working on dinner as it was almost ready.)
"I wonder what's keeping Chris. Dinner's almost ready!" Ella said
"Perhaps I should go and look for him." the butler said
"You know that the Thorndykes don't want Chris babied or treated differently from the other kids! I'm sure he's fine!" Ella said
(back in the living room, the group were still waiting until Nelson stood up in panic.)
"I'm going to look for the boy!" Nelson said
"Nelson, have some faith in your son." Lindsey said
"Huh, right. He's a level-headed boy and I'm sure there's a good reason why he's late." (tries to stay calm but continues to panic.) "WE HAVE TO STAY CALM!" Nelson shouted
"He hasn't changed since he was a boy." Chuck thought in his mind
(outside, Tails and Amy were getting worried about Chris as well.)
"I'm getting worried now, too!" Amy said
"Hey, Sonic!" Tails said
"Could you go look?" Amy asked
(Sonic runs off. Back at the school, True, Chris and all the kids were sitting in the bleachers of the baseball field holding books and pencils in their hands.)
"For today's art class, we will sketch the illustrious figure of the great Dr. Eggman! As you draw, take special notes of the doctor's noble visage and dignified bearing!" Intelligente said
(stands in a pose in front of the kids.) "Does this pose inspire you?" (changes into a different pose.) "Or how about something more dynamic!" Dr. Eggman said
"Uggh, it doesn't matter how that man stands, he'll always look terrible!" Chris said
"I only started on the one he was in, he just won't stay still." True said
(Sonic runs past the students, Eggman and Intelligente causing the books to fly into the air.)
"Hey, what was that?" Frances asked
"What?" Intelligente asked
(changes into a heroic pose.) "Perhaps a pose as a champion!" Dr. Eggman said
"You mean a chump! You're so busy showing off you haven't noticed that we're under attack!" Intelligente said (points to Eggman's left for him to see Sonic standing on top of the school flag pole.)
"I'd always knew you were a poser, Eggman!" Sonic said
"Intelligente!" Dr. Eggman shouted
"Yes, sir!" Intelligente said
"Get rid of Sonic!" Dr. Eggman shouted
"Who's Sonic?" Danny and Frances asked
"Yes, sir, whatever you say!" Intelligente said
(Intelligente fires missiles at Sonic only for the hedgehog to dodge all of them and charge right into his body, destroying Intelligente.)
"Wow!" Danny said
"He's tough!" Frances said
"Here Sonic, your prize!" Dr. Eggman said
"What prize?" Sonic asked
"A little reward for your victory!" Dr. Eggman said
(Eggman presents Sonic with a badge with his own smiling face on it.)
"I don't want a booby prize!" Sonic said
"Fine!" (Holds it up to the children.) "You take it!" Dr. Eggman said
"No thanks, keep it!" Chris said
"Yuck, who'd want that?" Frances asked
"Nasty!" Danny said
"Alright, I'll wear it myself!" (Puts the Eggman badge on his shirt.) "Bye." (about head to his Egg Mobile only to stop and look towards True.) "before I forget. True, I want to let you know your friend Rainbow King is alright, no harm fell onto him." Dr. Eggman said (Jumps into the Egg Mobile and flies away.)
"He's a weirdo!" Frances said
"Yeah!" Danny said
"He could keep me after school for a million years and I still wouldn't admire him!" Chris said
"I'm just glad Rainbow King is okay." True said
"You'd better hurry home, Chris. Your parents are waiting." Sonic said
"Yeah, that's right!" Chris said (kneels down for True to climb into his backpack.)
(Sonic runs away at super speed as Chris runs after him.)
"He's so cool!" Danny said
"Sure is!" Frances said
(On the road, Chris was running home to see his parents, after he ran past a few cars, Stewart walked out from behind one still holding the burger he took from the police officer to see Chris heading home.)
"You know, maybe there's more to being a school teacher than just passing out homework and taking naps in class." Mr. Stewart said (takes a bite out of the burger.)
(walks in from behind Stewart with his baton out.) "Enjoying my burger, bub!" (Stewart turned his head to the police officer as he was about to take another bite out of the burger only to start running again with the officer chasing after him.) "Hey, get back here! Stop chewing you thief! One more and I'll call out the SWAT team!" the police officer shouted
(back at Thorndyke Mansion, Chris came inside with True still in his backpack.)
"Mom, dad, I'm home!" Chris said
"It's Chris!" Lindsey and Nelson said
"Son!" Nelson said
"I was so worried!" Lindsey said
(later that day, True, Zee and the Thorndyke family were around the table eating dinner while talking about what happened today.)
"I told your mother you could look after yourself but she wouldn't listen!" Nelson said
"Sorry, I've got held up at school! And this is True, I didn't realize she was inside my backpack this morning." Chris said
"I was curious about what this school is." True said
(Chuckles) "Of course, there was absolutely nothing to be worried about! You know, when I was your age, I was kept after school a few times myself." Nelson said (Chuckles)
"Oh, I'm sure Chris is better-behaved than you, dear!" Lindsey said
"That's for sure! Actually Chris, your father was more worried about your absence than he lets off! Wasn't he, Tanaka?" Chuck asked
"Well, Mr. Thorndyke was concerned enough to phone the President." Mr. Tanaka said
"And Mrs. Thorndyke called all the DD Networks to get it on the bulletin on the nineteen news!" Ella said
"You mean that Scarlet lady on the tv?" Zee asked
"Ugh, I didn't call all of them!" Lindsey said
(outside the window of the dining room. Tails and Amy were watching the scene.)
"The Throndyke seem like a real nice family, don't they Amy?" Tails said
"I'm glad Chris made it back home on-time!" Amy said
"Uh huh, it always feels good to be back at home!" Tails said
(On the roof of the mansion, Sonic lays on the roof staring towards the night skies as he wonders what True's home looked like.)
