Season 1, Saga 1: New World, Chapter 7: Party Hardly
(We go to the Thorndyke Mansion where in Chris' room, Chris is talking to Cream and Cheese about staying inside.)
"Now remember, Cream, you too, Cheese, stay inside while I'm gone, okay?" Chris asked
"Okay!" Cream said (Cheese replies in agreement.)
"I'll see ya later!" Chris said (leaves the room and out of the mansion.)
(Sighs) "I don't want to stay inside, I wanna go outside and play." (looks out the window and sees something turning her frown upside down.) "Ahh!" Cream said
(in Chuck's room, Sonic, Tails and Amy were keeping themselves busy until they heard Cream's cheerful laughter and looked outside the window.)
(Cream and Cheese glee in excitement.) "Huh? That sounds like Cream and Cheese outside!" Amy said
"I wonder what she's doing out there, Amy." Tails said
"I bet Cream's out there gathering some flowers." Amy said
"She knows we're supposed to stay inside while Chris is at school. What's so important about going outside to pick flowers? Oh.." Tails said
(Flashback starts and Cream is picking flowers in the field while humming.)
"Hi, Cream! What are you doing there?" Tails asked
"I'm gonna surprise my mom by making her a crown out of flowers!" Cream said
(Flashback ends)
"I guess she really misses her mom." Tails said
"Of course she does, I just wish... I just wish we could do something to cheer her up." Amy said
(Sonic sees a poster showing a lake with flowers around it. He grabs it and runs off.)
"Sonic?" Amy asked
(Later in the dining room, True, Zee and Chris were sitting around the table with a bunch of burnt food on it which made the three nervous.)
"It's marvelous to be back in the kitchen again! On my movie sets, the chefs won't let me cook anything! Here are your buttermilk pancakes, dear! Enjoy!" Lindsey said
"Hmm!" (Chris grabs one of the burnt pancakes only to have it crumble after a few seconds as True and Zee winced with worry from what they saw.)
(enters the dining room in panic.) "Oh my! I smell something burning! Oh!" Ella said
"Oh, Ella, it's so good to be home again! I have an idea, let's have a big party!" Lindsey said
"Party?" Zee asked
"Yes! Dinner party! Tonight, we can all dress up! I'm sure Ella can prepare something absolutely scrumptious!" Lindsey said
"A party's a great idea, and do you think you can invite your brother Sam to come over since he's my favorite uncle?" Chris asked
(Hugs Chris) "Of course, darling! You can have anything you want. Anything at all for my adorable baby boy!" Lindsey said
"If we're having a party tonight, this calls for heavy-duty cleaning! Time to clear some clutter!" Ella said (Laughs as she leaves to the kitchen)
(unknown to them, Cream and Cheese heard it all from behind the door, excited about it.)
"Wow, a party! This is great! I love parties!" Cream said
(Later at the school, Chris was telling his friends about what is happening at the mansion.)
"A party?" Danny asked
"Yeah, my mom wants us to have fun while she's home! My uncle's coming for the party too!" Chris said
"The racer?" Frances asked
"Yeah, he's the coolest, and he's the leader of the S-Team!" Chris said
(back at the mansion in Chris' room, Cream was working on a flower crown but stopped when she noticed it wasn't big enough.)
"This crown doesn't have enough flowers," (sighs) "I better pick more!" (Cream puts the crown down on Chris' bed and proceeds to go outside, only to see Lindsey in the living room preparing the decorations for the party.) "Maybe I can help decorate for the party." Cream said
(at the school, it has ended for the day as the kids were leaving the class they are in.)
"What are you doing after school?" a kid asked
"Do you want to go to the mall?" another kid asked
"Bye." Chris said
(walks over to Chris from behind.) "Hey, Chris!" Mr. Stewart said
"Huh?" Chris asked
"I haven't been teaching here long, but I just wanted to say thanks. I'm really lucky to have so many intelligent and talented kids in my class." Mr. Stewart said
"Uh…" Chris stuttered
"You kids are terrific and I want to know all of you better! So, I'm coming to visit you and your family later today!" (Chris hesitates) "I can't wait to meet your mom and get her autograph!" Mr. Stewart said (Chris gasps)
(back at the mansion, Chris came home and entered through the front door.)
"Hey, I'm home!" Chris said
"How was school today, Master Christopher?" Mr. Tanaka asked
"It was pretty good, Mr. Tanaka" Chris said
(Hugs Chris) "Oh, Chris darling, you're home!" Lindsey said
"I-I hope it's okay, but my teacher Mr. Stewart's coming over today to visit, and it sounds like he's a really big fan of your movies, mom!" Chris said
"That reminds me! What am I going to wear? I should've had the studio send over a gown!" Lindsey said
"I feel sorry for dogs!" (walks down the stairs wearing a tuxedo with True and Zee following from behind.) "How do they stand it?! This collar's killing me!" Chuck said
"How come you're wearing those clothes, grandpa?" Chris asked
"Mr. Tanaka said I couldn't wear my lab coat to the party! I don't see why not!" Chuck said
"Hey, grandpa, when you see Sonic and the others, could you ask them to please stay out of sight until Mr. Stewart and my uncle go away?" Chris said
"I know that Amy and Tails are in my room, but I haven't seen Sonic or Cream and Cheese all day." Chuck said
"We thought Cream and Cheese was in your room, but they weren't in there." True said
"Let's hope they aren't where others will see them." Zee said
(True, Zee, Chris and Chuck turn around to see Cream and Cheese decorate the room behind them.)
"It's Cream and Cheese!" Chris said
"Is something wrong?" (True, Zee, Chris and Chuck turn towards Lindsey waving their arms up and down trying to keep her from seeing Cream in hesitation.) "Uh, what's the matter with you two?" Lindsey asked
"Uh everything's okay here, mom! You better hurry up and get ready! Me, True, Zee and Grandpa will take care of the rest of the decorations for tonight's party!" Chris said
"But there's plenty of time!" Lindsey said
"Yeah, but you know how time flies when you're putting on your make-up! Right, grandpa?" Chris asked
"Uhhh, yes, and don't forget, all of the food that has to be prepared, too!" Chuck said
"We'll handle them while you get ready." True said
"Don't want you to be at the party without enough make-up." Zee said
"Oh, well, I'll go see how Ella's doing in the kitchen!" Lindsey said (Walks away.)
(True, Zee, Chris and Chuck breathed out a sigh of relief, as True, Zee and Chris then ran into the living room where Cream and Cheese are.)
"What are you two doing here, Cream?" Chris asked (Chris sees Ella entering the lounge room and hides himself with True, Zee, Cream and Cheese behind the sofa.)
"Mrs. Thorndyke decorates like a little kid!" Ella said (heading into the other room.)
"Cream, I asked you to stay upstairs so nobody would see you!" Chris said
"That room was boring, and we only wanted to help you get ready for your party." Cream said
"Master Chris, True and Zee understand, it is very thoughtful of you to help us get ready, Cream." Mr. Tanaka said
"Mr. Tanaka, you know about them?" True asked
"Of course." Mr. Tanaka said
"You knew all along!" Zee said
"Do you think you could help me and grandpa keep this as a secret for right now?" Chris asked (without knowing Cream and Cheese started moving away.)
"I will." Mr. Tanaka said
(Breathes out a sigh of relief) "Thanks a lot!" (but when he looked to Cream and Cheese to see they had disappeared and panicked.) "Hold on, they're gone!" Chris said
(with Sonic, he is shown speeding throughout mountains while glancing at the map he's holding. Back at the mansion, True, Zee and Chris were looking for Cream and Cheese.)
"Cream? Cheese? I wonder where they wandered off to." Chris said
"I hope they're okay." True said
"We have to find them, quick." Zee said
(Meanwhile in the kitchen, Ella was working on the dinner until she heard Lindsey yelling from upstairs.)
"Ella! Ella!" Lindsey shouted
"Oh! What?" Ella asked (turns the hand mixer off to hear Lindsey better.)
"I can't find my green Versace! You didn't send it to the cleaners, did you?" Lindsey asked
"Uh, no, it should be there!" Ella shouted
"It's not here!" Lindsey shouted
"I'm on my way!" Ella said (Ella leaves the kitchen. Cream and Cheese then arrive in the kitchen.)
"Wow, look at all that food! It smells so good!" (Cheese replies in agreement.) "We can help, Cheese!" Cream said (Both turn on the hand mixer and the blender at the same time causing their contents to spill out, Cream and Cheese scream and quickly leave the kitchen. Ella comes into the kitchen in panic.)
"Hey, Cream, are you-" (hears Ella scream from in the kitchen.) "Ah, Cream! Cheese!" (ran into the kitchen to see what was happening and ran to Ella who was on her knees, ducking from the food contents spilling out.) "Ella! Hey, are you okay?" Chris asked
"My dinner's a disaster…" Ella said
(Chris looked around wondering how it happened. With Sonic, he comes across a waterfall and a bridge consisting of broken wooden planks.)
(Whistles) "This is cool!" Sonic said
(Sonic proceeds to speed across the bridge, causing more wooden planks of the bridge to fly off. Scene changes to Thorndyke Mansion where Lindsey is now in a dress and has put on make-up.)
"This should do, at least for my entrance!" (hears the phone rings and answers it.) "Interruptions! Hello! What's that? The starring role? I'll catch the next plane! Oh, actually I'm having a little party for my son tonight. I'm afraid I'll have to leave tomorrow morning." (Cream and Cheese were about to walk by until they heard Lindsey and looked behind the door to listen.) "Oh, I didn't realize. We have to shoot on location first thing tomorrow morning. I know you can't put a hundred million-dollar production on hold for a party. I'll leave immediately. Goodbye." (Hangs up the phone and starts to tear up.) "Why does it always have to happen this way? I don't even have time to spend with my little boy. I may be a great actress, but I'm a terrible mother. Please forgive me, Christopher!" Lindsey said (starts to cry as Cream and Cheese saw it all.)
(Back with Sonic, he runs and finally finds the small lake with its surrounding flowers.)
"YEAH!" Sonic shouted (Runs to the lake, grabs a flower and sniffs it.)
(Scene changes to Thorndyke Mansion where True, Zee and Chris are still looking for Cream and Cheese.)
"Cream, where are you? Hey, Cheese! Ah, maybe they went back into the lab with grandpa!" Chris said (Chris heads towards Chuck's lab through leaving the lounge while Ella appears at the lounge right afterwards.)
"Chris! Oh, the poor boy! Oh dear!" Ella said
(Outside the mansion, Mr. Tanaka helps to load Lindsey's luggage into the boots with Lindsey standing by him.)
(walks out of the mansion and to Lindsey.) "M'am, I've looked all over, but I'm afraid I couldn't find Chris anywhere." Ella said
"Ella, please tell Christopher how sorry I am, and apologize to Mr. Stewart and my brother." Lindsey said
"They'll understand. You take care, Mrs. Thorndyke." Ella said
"Call me if Chris needs anything." Lindsey said
"Certainly, Mrs. Thorndyke." Mr. Tanaka said
(with True, Zee and Chris, he ran to Chuck's room to see if Cream and Cheese were there.)
"Cream? Cheese?" True asked
(the three looked around to see Tails, Amy and Chuck were in the room, but Cream and Cheese weren't.)
"What, they're not here?" Zee asked
"Weren't they with you?" Chuck asked
"They're wandering around someplace, and Mr. Stewart's gonna be here any minute now! What am I gonna do if he sees them?" Chris asked
"Stay calm. Let's all split up, and each one of us will search a different part of the house till we find them." Chuck said
"Okay!" Tails and Amy said
(Out on the road, Lindsey is seen on her ride looking disappointed. As the car turns left, Mr. Stewart's car can be seen approaching from the other side of the road. Inside, Mr. Stewart glances at the microphone piece on his hand. In the next scene, Mr. Stewart arrives at the mansion while carrying a bouquet of roses. Upon ringing the doorbell, Mr. Tanaka greets him at the front door.)
"I'm Chris' homeroom teacher, Mr. Stewart." Mr. Stewart said
"Welcome, sir. We've been expecting you." Mr. Tanaka said
"Hi, come in!" Chris said
"How are you, Chris?" Mr. Stewart asked
"Sit down!" (leads Mr. Stewart to the living room, who then sees the decoration Cream and Cheese set up and tinkers with it, with great interest.) "Do you like it? Mrs. Thorndyke isn't only a great actress, but an artist too! Ho ho ho!" Ella said
"Well, it's great! I can't wait to meet Chris' mother and give her my compliments!" Mr. Stewart said
"I'm very sorry, Mr. Stewart, but just before you arrived, she was off for an important movie part and she had to leave right away to start filming." Ella said
"Ugh?! No way!" Chris said
"Oh man." Zee said
"I was hoping she would stay longer." Lindsey said
"Oh, well, that is too bad! I was really looking forward to meeting her in person. Hm, I guess I'll offer these to you, then." Mr. Stewart said (giving the bouquet of roses to Ella.)
"Oh, why thank you, Mr. Stewart! What beautiful roses! I'll put them in some–" Ella didn't get to finish (A clanging sound is heard.)
(pokes his head out from under a kitchen cabinet from hearing the sound.) "Hello?" Tails asked
"What was that?" Ella asked
(In the commotion, Mr. Stewart proceeds to carry out his plan regarding the microphone he has with him. Chuck can be seen on the ground next to a couple of plant pots being knocked over.)
(stands back up, nervously.) "Sorry, Ella! I was just leaning out the window, but I fell out and accidentally knocked the pots down!" Chuck said
"I don't know what you think you're up to, but you better be on your best behavior because Chris' teacher is here!" Ella said
"Oh, I better come in and say hi!" Chuck said (jumps onto the window seal and climbs back into the mansion.)
"Oh, sir, why can't you just use the front door like everybody else?!" Ella asked
"One way in is as good as another!" Chuck said
(From the lounge, Chris observes the events and turns to see Cream hiding beneath a window curtain directly next to Ella and Chuck. Chris screams. After he screamed, Ella and Chuck looked at him as Stewart put the microphone in his pocket while looking at the painting he was gonna put it behind.)
"What's the matter, Chris? Why did you scream?" Ella asked
"Err... um…" (sits back down to look innocent.) "it's nothing!" Chris said
"Well, my, this certainly is an extraordinary painting!" Mr. Stewart said
(Cream looks out of the window to see Sonic holding the flowers and making a gesture at her, pointing towards a direction.)
"Thanks, Sonic! Guess what?" (Cream begins moving away from the window, revealing herself in front of True, Zee, Chris, Chuck and Ella.) "Sonic went out and picked a whole bunch of pretty flowers just for me!" (Ella picks up Cream in surprise while Chuck cringes.) "You can have some too, if you want." Cream said
"No... I can't... is this little animal talking?!" Ella asked in panic
"Talking animals?! What a joke!" Chuck said
"Yes, that's some joke." Mr. Tanaka said
"Hmm, love this painting." Mr. Stewart said
"Thanks for finding True's stuffed animal toy for us, Ella! Can I have it back now?" Chris asked
"Toy?! Look, I've heard that thing talking and nobody is going to convince me otherwise!" Ella said
(looks to Cream. whispers.) "Pretend you're a toy!" Chris whispered
"If this is some kind of joke you're playing, then you better quit before I do!" Ella said
(rushes into the room surprising the others as True went behind the couch in fright from seeing the team leader enter the room.) "Hey hey! Ha ha, hey, where's the party?" the team leader asked
"Uncle Sam, this is my teacher, Mr. Stewart!" Chris said
"A pleasure! I understand you're involved in the highway patrol somehow." Mr. Stewart said
"Well I don't like to brag, but I'm the leader of the S-Team!" Sam said
"That statement is only half-correct." Chuck said
"Really?" Zee asked
"My uncle drives fast! No other driver's quick enough to catch him! That's why he's called the 'Speed King'! You came up with the name yourself, didn't you?" Chris asked
"Sure! A little self-promotion never hurt anybody!" (Laughs) "Let's cut the chit-chat here and get this party moving, it's too slow!" Sam said
"And your mouth is too fast!" Ella said
"Heh, I can't help it that I like speed! I've always been fast! I even beat the doctor to the delivery room. I was the only kid in town who had a 5-speed transmission in my baby carriage!" Sam said
"Uh…" Mr. Stewart said
"I'll admit it, I like living in the fast lane! Even when I'm in the supermarket, no matter how many items I have, I'd use the express checkout! I can't even walk my dog; I'd make him run!" (Laughs) "There's only one guy who's faster!" (A flashback showing a scene from the "Chaos Control Freaks" where Sonic passes by Sam at the peak of their high-speed chase.) "I never saw anything that moved that fast, but don't you worry, I'll catch up with him someday! And to that note..." (puts his arm behind the foot rest he's sitting on and pulls his arm back out holding True by the back of her shirt collar who was trying to get out of the room unnoticed.) "this kid was with him when it happened." Sam said
"Really? What did he look like?" Mr. Stewart asked
(puts True down and nudges her away.) "It's weird, but he looked like a blue hedgehog! He even had a spike-" (Looks at Sonic, who is waving at him from outside the window.) "Hey, there he is!" (True, Zee, Chris, Mr. Tanaka and Chuck turn around to look at the window behind although Sonic takes off just as Ella turns.) "There! Did you see?! It was the blue hedgehog I was talking about!" Sam asked
"Sorry, I was just admiring this painting!" Mr. Stewart said
"I didn't see anything, did you?" Chuck asked
"Perhaps your eyes were playing tricks on you, sir." Mr. Tanaka said
(rubs his eyes with his arm and sees they weren't playing tricks.) "But I'm telling ya, I saw it! You saw it too, Chris, didn't you?" (Chris shakes his head.) "I saw it! My eyes don't lie! That thing waved at me and ran off!" Sam said
"You know, they thought I was crazy too when I heard that animal talking!" Ella said
"Animal talking? Well, I didn't hear it say anything, but I'm sure it could understand what I said! We both saw the same creature! That proves I'm not crazy!" Sam said
"The animal I heard is over there!" Ella said (Points at Cream which confuses Sam.)
"You know, I'm sorry Mum can't be here for the party, but she got a phone call and had to leave to make a movie! I was pretty mad! Mr. Stewart was looking forward to meeting her, but she went away before he even got here! That was pretty rude, huh?" Chris asked
"Well, that sounds like my sister, alright!" Sam said
(Flashback) "Please forgive me, Christopher." Lindsey said (Bursts into tears, flashback ends)
(jumps out of Chris' arms in anger.) "You're wrong! Your mom felt very badly that she had to go, and she tried to find you to say goodbye! You're lucky, you get to talk to your mom all the time on the phone! I can't do that!" Cream shouted (Cries and runs away from the lounge while Cheese follows her. Everyone in the lounge looks on in shock.)
"Well, I hope you enjoyed that! I've been rehearsing my ventriloquism acts for weeks now, and if I do say so myself, I'm not half-bad!" Mr. Tanaka said
"Ah yes, this painting is stunning!" Mr. Stewart said (continues to pretend not to know about what really happened.)
(Tails and Amy run through the lounge following Cream.)
"Cream!" Tails shouted
"Come here, Cream!" Amy shouted
"I'm seeing more of them now!" Ella said (about to faint.)
(rushes in to catch Ella before she could faint.) "Hey, Ella, would you care to dance?" Chuck asked (Exits pulling Ella along.)
"Well, Uncle Sam, I hope you can come and visit me again!" Chris said
"Yeah, but you know me, Chris! It'll have to be a quick visit!" Sam said (Sam and Chris laughed.)
"I guess I've seen and heard enough." (Mr. Stewart decides not to use the microphone. Chuck dances around in the lounge with Ella.) "Chris, I better get going, I have got homework to grade. Please give your mother my regards and tell her I hope we get to meet soon!" Mr. Stewart said
"I'm sorry, Mr. Stewart." Chris said
(At the front of the mansion, the gates open and Mr. Stewart drives off. Sam is then seen in his car while True, Zee, Chris, Chuck and Mr. Tanaka see them off.)
"Later, boys, see you in my rear-view mirror!" Sam said
(Sam drives off. Chris, Chuck and Tanaka head back to the lounge. Chris sighs.)
"Oh dear, I'm working too hard! I'm hearing things!" Ella said
"Mr. Chris, would it not be wise to let Ella in on your little secret, too?" Mr. Tanaka asked
"He's right. Things would be a lot easier if she were in on it, too." Chuck said
"Sure, okay!" (Walks up to Ella.) "Hey, Ella, listen, it's like this-" Chris started
(Time fast forwards to evening/night where Cream and Cheese are helping Ella cook in the kitchen.)
"So the only nutty thing in my kitchen is my pecan pie! What a relief! I'm so happy that you don't have to hide from me anymore, sweetie!" Ella said
"Yeah, we can be friends and I can help you out in the kitchen!" Cream said
"You're such a dear, I'm sure that your mother misses you terribly!" Ella said (Cries)
"Please don't worry. Sonic and my friends will find a way to get us all back home, and you can take care of me until then." Cream said
"I will, Cream. I will." Ella said
"Thank you, Ella." Cream said
(in Chris' room, True, Chris and Sonic were watching from the balcony as they were happy to see Ella's happy about having company.)
"Now that Ella knows that we're here, we can have a run of this place!" Sonic said
"Sure! Uh..." Chris said (Chris turns to leave.)
"Huh? Chris? What's wrong? Why are you sad?" True asked
"I didn't mean it when I complained about my mom missing the party, but Cream got really angry. I didn't even think about how bad she misses her mother. I... just hope she doesn't stay mad at me." Chris said
"Don't worry, it'll be okay!" Sonic said
"Hello, Chris!" (enters the room holding a flower crown.) "I made this especially for you! Do you want to put it on?" Cream asked
"Wow, thank you!" Chris said (kneels down for Cream to put it on his head.)
"You can wear it to school and tell your friends that I made it for you! Now I'm going to give Ella her flowers!" Cream said
"Way to go, buddy! Cream will only give her flower crowns to the people who she really likes a lot, like you!" Sonic said
"Really? You think she likes me?" Chris asked
"You bet!" Sonic said
(Zee, Tails, Amy and Chuck cheer on as Ella, wearing a flower crown, hugged Cream close. While True looked out at the sky, curious if she and her friends will ever find a way home.)
