Finally, the Senate session had concluded, although Harry sensed that the disorderly proceedings had already reached a climax with the vote of no confidence against Chancellor Valorum. Harry sat back in his seat, with Jax, the young Jedi who had brought him to the Senate, watching the last of the Senators depart the massive chamber below Harry had watched the political chaos unfold. It had been a spectacle — not the polished grandeur he had expected but a frantic and tumultuous scene that left him feeling unsettled. He had expected the entire thing to be more formal, structured, like the Wizengamot sessions back in his world. But here, the Senate was a sprawling mess of voices, each one louder than the next, all fighting to be heard over the din.

As he watched the last of the Senator's leave the hall, he noticed that Jax had gotten to his feet and was stretching and adjusting his robes. Harry did the same, feeling the stiffness in his muscles from sitting through what felt like hours of heated debate.

"Let's go," Jax said quietly, motioning toward the Senate aide who had been their guide earlier. She stood at the edge of the balcony, waiting for them with a professional smile, her hands folded in front of her.

"We'll be heading to the Queen of Naboo's office," the aide said, her voice formal but tinged with relief that the session was over. "Her Majesty will see you."

Harry nodded silently as they made their way down from the viewing platform, Harry's mind was still racing. The scene he had just witnessed felt wrong somehow. Sure, the Chancellor had been ousted, but Harry had a nagging sense that the real issue hadn't even been touched.

The aide led them down the winding corridors of the Senate building, its grand architecture towering above them, now seeming cold and impersonal. The walls gleamed in the artificial light, and Harry couldn't help but feel a sense of isolation as they passed other aides and officials, each absorbed in their own duties.

They finally arrived at a set of large doors adorned with the Naboo crest. The Senate aide stopped and after a brief chat with the security guard, gestured toward the doors. "Her Majesty will see you now," she said, her voice calm and measured.

And with that, the doors slid open with a soft hiss.

Harry exchanged a glance with Jax before stepping through the entrance. The office they entered was spacious but understated compared to the rest of the Senate building. Rich, dark wood contrasted with the sleek metallic accents, and the soft hum of technology filled the air. At the center of the room stood Queen Amidala, dressed in one of her more ornate gowns, her face framed by one of her intricate headdresses. Standing beside her, speaking in low tones, was Senator Palpatine.

As soon as they entered, Amidala's face brightened, and she greeted Harry with a warm smile. "Ah, young Skywalker," she said, her formal tone softened by a hint of familiarity. "I'm glad you could make it. I trust you the invitation reached you in time and you were able to attend the session?"

Harry returned the smile and nodded. "Yes, Your Majesty. I was able to watch most of it."

"Is Padmé here?" he asked quickly, scanning the room. He had hoped to thank her personally for inviting him to witness such an important event.

The Queen's smile softened, though this time her eyes reflected a hint of amusement. "Padmé is occupied elsewhere today, I'm afraid. But my other handmaidens will be more than capable of assisting you with anything you need."

Harry shook his head, feeling slightly embarrassed. "No, that's alright. I was just hoping to speak with her. I do appreciate the invitation, though … even if the session was, well … kind of a mess."

That last comment caused the entire room to fall silent. The Queen's eyebrows shot up in surprise, clearly caught off guard by Harry's bluntness, and Senator Palpatine, who had been quietly observing the exchange, turned his full attention to Harry, his eyes narrowing as if sizing up the young boy, his keen eyes studying Harry with more interest than before.

Amidala's surprise lingered for a moment before she spoke. "A mess, you say? Why do you feel that way, Harry?"

For a moment, Harry hesitated, but then he shrugged. "Well, I think I understand why you felt that you had to do what you did. The Chancellor wasn't helping, so you moved to vote him out. But … it just seemed like a lot of chaos, and I don't think it's going to change much. The real problem isn't Valorum, right? He actually seemed sympathetic to your problem. I think the actual problem was those groups that are influencing the Senate — the corporate interests. They get to sit there and have a say in things while not having to follow the rules like the senators do. Changing the leader won't solve anything if those groups still hold that much power."

The Queen's mouth fell open in stunned silence. Even Palpatine seemed momentarily taken aback, though he recovered quickly, the edges of his mouth curling into a diplomatic smile.

"You have a very ... astute understanding of the situation for someone so young," Palpatine remarked, his voice smooth and controlled. "But as Queen Amidala has wisely seen, Valorum's weakness in handling these groups left her no choice. A stronger Chancellor will be able to manage these factions, bend them to the will of the Republic." He smiled at Harry; his tone suddenly more personal. "Young Skywalker, I've heard much about you. It seems the Queen's glowing words of praise were not undeserved; you've made quite the impression already."

Harry didn't miss the way Palpatine's interruption felt calculated, but he nodded politely. "Thank you, Senator."

As their eyes met, Harry felt something odd — not the overt malevolence he had sensed last time, but rather like he was staring into a void. The sensation was unnerving, and Harry couldn't shake the feeling that it was as if the Senator was actually managing to obscure his presence, and Harry forced himself to smile and not shudder, although he mentally decided to ask one of the Jedi about it the first chance he got.

The Queen, recovering from her surprise, stepped closer to Harry. "You make a good point," she admitted softly. "Perhaps you're right, and the problem is deeper than simply changing the leadership. But what else could I have done? The Senate, under Valorum's leadership had failed Naboo and something needed to be done. Naboo, my home planet, is in crisis, and this was the only option available to show others that something is being done."

Harry scratched the back of his head and nodded, but he couldn't help but shrug slightly. "I get that, but sometimes doing something just to show you're doing something isn't always the right move. It might even make things worse in the long run."

Once again, the Queen stared at him, this time with a kind of respect. "You're full of surprises, Harry. Your perspective is ... unexpected. Although I certainly appreciate the honesty."

Harry blinked, surprised himself. He hadn't realized how blunt he had been. But Queen Amidala continued, her expression softening into something more thoughtful. "Still, what's done is done. I'll be heading back to Naboo soon. It was advised as the best course of action, and Senator Palpatine has promised to help ensure that the next Chancellor will be more ... sympathetic to our plight."

Harry nodded, though he still felt uneasy. "I hope everything works out for you, Your Majesty." he said earnestly.

The Queen opened her mouth to respond, but before she could, Jax's communicator chimed softly. The young Jedi checked the message, his expression turning serious. He stepped away from the window where he had been standing next to Jar Jar and walked over to Harry.

"We need to go," Jax said quietly. "My Master just sent word. The Council has made their decision. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are waiting for us at the entrance to the Temple."

Harry felt a jolt of nervous anticipation.

As he turned to leave, the Queen reached out and grabbed his arm surprising him. "May the Force be with you, Harry," she said, her voice full of quiet authority.

"And with you, Your Majesty," Harry replied, offering her a small, respectful bow before following Jax out of the office.

As Harry stepped away from the Senate building, he felt a strange blend of exhilaration and trepidation. For now, though, Harry's attention shifted to the Jedi waiting for him.

Jax led Harry to a line of speeders in front of the building where they boarded the first one and promptly took off for the Jedi Temple, the cityscape of Coruscant buzzing around them. The ride was smooth, the kind Harry still hadn't quite gotten used to, but exhilarating, nonetheless. Especially as they were several miles above the ground.

Jax, seated next to him, leaned back, looking at Harry with a curious grin. "You know,'" he said, breaking the silence, "you're pretty politics-savvy for a kid from a desert world in the middle of nowhere."

Harry chuckled as he shrugged his shoulders. "You pick things up here and there," he replied. "Even a desert world in the middle of nowhere isn't completely cut off from the rest of the galaxy, although some days it sure felt like it.

The speeder continued waving through the airways of Coruscant until the massive structure of the Jedi Temple loomed ahead, its towers piercing the sky.

As they landed at the Temple's docking bay, Jax jumped out first before looking back to Harry and giving him a quick nod. "I have to get back to my master," Jax said, his youthful energy bouncing off him. "Afternoon training. I'm late!"

Harry smiled. "Hope you have fun. Maybe we'll run into each other again."

Jax gave him a brief wave over his shoulder before disappearing into the throngs of Jedi and staff moving towards and from the Temple entrance.

As Jax disappeared, Harry turned toward Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, who were walking towards the speeder. Qui-Gon gave him a polite smile but seemed distracted.

"How was the Seante?" Qui-Gon asked, his tone casual but laced with curiosity.

"Interesting, to say the least," Harry replied, still mulling over what had happened and what it might mean.

Qui-Gon gave him a searching look but before he could follow-up with another question, Harry decided to get to the point. "What did the Council decide?" Harry asked, trying to sound casual but feeling a pit of nervousness form in his stomach.

Qui-Gon glanced at Obi-Wan, who nodded slightly, before answering. "The deliberation was private ... and it took much longer than I anticipated. Much, much longer. However, we need to head back to the Council chambers, and it would be good if we aren't tardy for your meeting. The Council will explain everything."

With that, he gestured for Harry to follow, and the three of them joined the crowd of individuals heading into the Jedi Temple. Harry barely had time to prepare himself mentally as Qui-Gon ushered him through the halls.

Eventually, they arrived at the Council chambers, the doors opening with a hiss. Inside, the semi-circle of Jedi Masters sat, serene and imposing. Yoda sat in his small chair; eyes half-closed but watching Harry intently. Mace Windu sat to his right, looking at Harry with a calm but intense expression. Other Jedi Masters, including Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Plo Koon, filled the room and were briefly introduced in turn by Qui-Gon.

Harry stood in the center of the chamber, his heart pounding in his chest. He'd been through high-pressure situations before—facing Voldemort, dangerous magical creatures, and life-or-death tournaments—but this felt different. These weren't enemies; they were potential allies. Still, it felt like a test all the same.

Yoda was the first to speak, his voice slow and measured. "Strong in the Force, you are. But uncertain, the path before you is."

Mace Windu leaned forward slightly, studying Harry closely. "We have heard part of your story from Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan but tell us, Harry. Tell us of your life before meeting Qui-Gon?"

Harry had prepared for this question and began talking. "I grew up on Tatooine," he said carefully. "It's always been just my mother and me. No father. We were slaves, but ... I did what I could to make life easier for her. And despite being slaves I think I lived a normal-ish life. Had friends and hobbies, dreams and 'a job'."

The Masters exchanged glances, and Mace's eyes narrowed slightly. "And your father?" he asked again, his tone probing.

"Well, I imagine as with most humans I must have had one," he quipped, shrugging. "But as far as I know, it's always been just me and my mum."

The corners of Qui-Gon's lips twitched, and even Obi-Wan raised an eyebrow at the casual tone. Yoda, however, seemed unfazed. He hummed softly, tapping his clawed fingers on the arm of his chair.

"Why help Qui-Gon and the Queen on Tatooine?" Plo Koon asked, his voice deep and resonant from behind his mask. "What compelled you to get involved?"

Harry thought back to that moment on Tatooine. To him, it hadn't been a matter of choice—it had been obvious what needed to be done. "Sometimes, the right thing to do is difficult to figure out," he began, choosing his words carefully. "But in this case, it wasn't. They needed help. I had the means to offer it."

The Council members nodded slightly, seeming satisfied with his response. The tension in the room lessened, if only marginally.

"And your Force sensitivity," Mace Windu said, straightening in his chair. "Qui-Gon told us of the event on the ship and the rest he ran. If it's alright with you, we would like to test that."

After Harry nodded, Yoda waved a hand, and a console activated near Harry, floating shapes and objects appearing before him. The first test was simple enough—guessing what shape or image would appear next, apparently letting the Force guide his intuition.

As the tests continued, Harry could feel the Masters' eyes on him, weighing every answer and every reaction. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the tests ended. The Council sat quietly for a moment, exchanging glances again, but this time, there was a shift in the atmosphere.

Mace Windu leaned back; his arms crossed. "You certainly are promising, and we sense no fear in you, Harry. Or, at least, no more than we would expect for someone your age. If anything, you seem braver than most."

Harry felt a surge of hope at the approval in Mace's voice, but before he could feel too confident, Mace continued. "However, we also sense that you will need to develop a much stronger control over your emotions."

Harry's first instinct was to argue. Having heard the way Obi-Wan had talked about negative emotions while they had been travelling from Tatooine to Coruscant, he could understand the dangers of anger and hate, but emotions like love and hope had guided him through his darkest moments.

"Not all emotions are bad," Harry said, cutting through the heavy silence. "I've seen what anger and hatred can do, especially when people grow up in situations like mine ... but it was my love for my mum that made me who I am today. Without that love, I don't know if I'd be the same person."

Yoda's eyes narrowed as he regarded Harry. "Love, powerful it is. But dangerous too, it can be. Lead to jealousy, it might. To heartbreak. And anger follows. A path to the dark side, that is."

Harry opened his mouth to argue further, but he felt Qui-Gon's hand on his shoulder, giving him a gentle squeeze. "Now's not the time," Qui-Gon whispered, his tone soft but firm.

Harry bit back his retort, nodding silently.

Yoda watched him for a moment longer before speaking again. "Agree, we do. Training, you will receive. But how, decide, we must. Older than any we have trained, you are."

Harry felt a burst of happiness at the news, and despite himself, he couldn't hide his smile. He quickly composed himself, nodding to the Council. "Sorry," he said, grinning sheepishly. "But it is good news, after all."

The Masters exchanged glances, some showing the barest hint of approval at his reaction. However, Yoda's sharp eyes remained on him, studying every nuance. "Happy, you are," Yoda said, his tone neutral but knowing. "But much to learn, still you have. A long road ahead, you have yet to begin."

Harry nodded, quickly muting his joy. "Of course, Master Yoda."

Yoda gave a slight hum before turning his attention to Qui-Gon. "Another matter for you, pressing it is. Alerted, we have been, that Queen Amidala, a return to Naboo she plans."

Qui-Gon straightened, listening intently. Obi-Wan's expression tightened, concern flickering across his features.

Yoda continued, "Troubling, the situation on Naboo remains. Dangerous, it could become. Escort her, you and your Padawan shall. Ensure her safety, you must."

Qui-Gon nodded, the weight of the mission evident in his eyes. "Of course, Masters. We will prepare at once and make sure we are with the Queen when she leaves."

Yoda turned back to Harry, his ancient gaze softening slightly. "As for you, young one. The next few days, yours they are. Decide, you must, on what you wish to do. In a week, clearer to us the path for your training will be."

Harry nodded; his excitement tempered by the reality of his situation.

Yoda dismissed them with a final nod, and as the Council chamber doors opened, Harry fell in step beside Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. As they walked into the halls of the Temple, the excitement he'd partially managed to suppress bubbled up again.

"Can we go see my mum?" Harry asked, turning to Qui-Gon with hopeful eyes.

Qui-Gon smiled warmly. "Of course."

They made their way toward the guest quarters where Shmi Skywalker had been resting. The walk felt longer than it was, anticipation building with each step. Harry hadn't seen his mother since before the Council meeting, and now, with this life-changing news, he couldn't wait to tell her.

When they entered the room, Shmi was sitting upright, looking healthier and more relaxed than Harry ever recalled her looking. She was reading a holopad, and when she noticed them enter, her face lit up.

"Harry!" she exclaimed, setting the holopad aside as she rose to her feet. "I saw the note you left, did you have a good day?"

Harry rushed to her, wrapping her in a tight embrace. "Mum, they agreed," he said, his voice filled with excitement. "The Council— they're going to train me. I'm going to be a Jedi!"

Shmi's eyes widened with disbelief, and for a moment, she just stared at him. Then, the tears began to fall, and she pulled him even closer, her voice thick with emotion. "Oh, Harry ... I never thought ... I never dreamed something like this would be possible." She wept openly, overcome with happiness and pride. "My boy, a Jedi."

Harry hugged her tightly, feeling the weight of her emotions, her joy mingling with his. For a long moment, it was just the two of them, sharing this moment.

After a few minutes, Shmi pulled back, wiping her tears away. Her face still glowed with happiness, but Harry noticed a flicker of concern behind her eyes. Before he could ask, Qui-Gon, standing a respectful distance away, spoke up.

"You needn't worry," Qui-Gon said gently, having recognized the shift in her expression. "You are welcome to stay here as long as you wish, or until you find another place that feels right. The Jedi, … and I, owe you that much."

Shmi nodded gratefully but looked at Harry, concern still shadowing her gaze. "But what about Harry? What will happen to him?"

Qui-Gon hesitated, exchanging a look with Obi-Wan before continuing. "Once his training is decided, he will likely join the other Padawans. His path will be difficult, but it is a noble one. He will be in good hands."

At that, Shmi nodded and smiled, pulling Harry into another tight hug. Harry held her close, his own emotions swirling. He knew this was hard for her. Ever since he was a child, it had always been just the two of them. But now, their lives were changing.

After a few moments, she pulled back again, composing herself. "I'm so proud of you," she whispered, her voice full of warmth and love.

Qui-Gon, sensing the moment was right, asked, "Harry, have you thought about what you want to do in the coming days?"

Harry looked up at him, his decision already clear in his mind. He had made it the moment Yoda mentioned Queen Amidala. "I want to come with the two of you to Naboo," he said, his voice filled with conviction.

Obi-Wan's brow furrowed immediately. "That's not a good idea. Naboo is a dangerous situation, and you're not ready."

Qui-Gon looked equally hesitant, his gaze steady on Harry. "I understand your desire to help, but Obi-Wan is right. You've only just begun your journey with the Jedi. You are not trained and Naboo could quickly become more perilous than it already is."

Harry crossed his arms, determination written across his face. "Master Yoda said I could choose what I want to do, and like I told the Council earlier—sometimes, the right thing to do is pretty obvious."

Obi-Wan looked ready to argue, but Qui-Gon held up a hand, signaling for patience. The Jedi Master regarded Harry with a thoughtful expression, recognizing the same stubbornness that he'd seen several times since Harry convinced him that he was willing to take the risk in the podrace.

Harry glanced at his mother, expecting resistance from her too, but instead, she sighed softly, the conflict evident in her eyes. "I don't like the idea of you going into danger, Harry," she admitted, her voice heavy with worry. "But I know you. You've always had a strong will ... and if Qui-Gon is with you, I trust you'll be safe."

Qui-Gon raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised by her support. He exchanged another look with Obi-Wan, who remained skeptical but silent.

"Please," Harry pressed, looking directly at Qui-Gon now. "I know I haven't started my training, but I can help. Naboo needs all the help it can get, and I want to be part of that."

For a long moment, Qui-Gon remained quiet, weighing the options. Finally, he sighed and gave a slight nod. "Very well, Harry. But you must promise to listen to everything I say. You'll follow my every order exactly, without question."

Harry nodded eagerly, barely able to contain his excitement. "I promise!"

Obi-Wan let out a quiet breath, clearly still not thrilled with the decision but resigned to it. "This is highly irregular," he muttered.

"Perhaps … but it feels right, and I shall trust in the Force," Qui-Gon said, turning to face Harry's mother. "You have my word, Shmi. He will be safe with us."

Shmi nodded, her eyes still brimming with concern but also pride. "Thank you, Qui-Gon."

Harry, still brimming with excitement, hugged his mother again. "I'll be back before you know it," he said confidently. But he also felt a deep sense of purpose, a pull that had been growing since he'd first felt the Force. He couldn't just sit by while others were in danger. He had to act.

"I'll touch base with the Queen and her people letting her know of our plans to travel with them." Qui-Gon said. "But I don't believe we'll leave before tomorrow. Enjoy the night with your mother but make sure you're prepared; we will come grab you before we head to the ship."

Harry nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. He had no idea what lay ahead on Naboo, but whatever it was, he was ready. He was going to prove to the Jedi, to Qui-Gon, and to himself, that he had what it took to be more than just a boy from Tatooine. He was going to be a Jedi.

Kind Regards,

Story Note 1 – Harry is a Jedi, certainly a slightly different path to becoming one. And the differences will continue and start to grow, most stemming from decisions Harry will be making.

Story Note 2 – Don't worry, as with Cin Drallig, Jax will be back. Harry won't just be surrounded by old members of the order.

Story Note 3 – Harry is having more of an impression on Padme … I mean the Queen (no spoilers for anyone who has not watched Star Wars haha). This is going to hopefully result in a more understandable shift in their relationship and avoid Harry from having to use any super smooth and incredibly well thought out pick up lines like: "I hate sand … unlike you."

DS2010 - I'm glad you enjoyed it! Certainly Cin Drallig will play a role in the story going forward.

EricFreak - It was more so early times and learning about the world but as he goes along and starts his training he will certainly start to become more confident. And there will definitely be different choices being made which will lead to the story splitting more and more from canon.

themadmartian - I'm really happy you are enjoying it. As the story proceeds events will be slowly moving further and further away from the events from canon but some events will still be the same as some events have been put in motion or Harry will be unable to stop or alter others decisions or plans. But Harry will react differently to how Anakin did.

Antianti12 - Certainly Anakin will not just jump in, but that being said there is a different plan for him.

Vukk - Hmmm seems like a reasonable thought, I guess we'll find out!

stars90 - Hopefully further chapters will continue to live up to expectation.

Black Dahaka - Glad you are enjoying the story! That's a really good call. Maybe he scribbled it on a touch pad? But you are right, I might go back and edit that.

WhiteElfElder - Just cause it happened in his head why doesn't it mean it didn't actually happen. Haha. Oh Dumbledore. But I wonder why it happened ...
