November 1993
Alexander and Rosemary loved Hogwarts a lot and these past three months were a joy to the twins who had the time of the half undead lives. Rosemary and Alexander drank blood every two weeks on a Friday night so they could be strong enough not to use their strength to rip someones head off. Brenda and Ashely still were okay with Rosemary's vampirism and asked questions on the matter whenever they got the chance to ask Rosemary. Alexander's roommates don't have a clue on his vampirism as they were boys who don't notice much past their own noses.
Rosemary had made a friend with a third year muggle born by the name of Hermione Granger and she immediately noticed that the Cullen Twins were half vampires. She had admitted to Rosemary that Granger was not her birth last name, it was Volturi, she only got Granger as her birth mother had died and her birth father didn't want to raise her all the time. She had said that she was born to a muggle born witch and a vampire named Alec who was part of the Volturi guard. And her birth mother was the older sister of the woman that is raising her now, so no one bated an eye at Hermione calling them Aunt Jean and Uncle Russell all the time out in public.
This shocked Rosemary as she had gone to Volterra this past summer on the way to London and Alec had said nothing on the matter. Hell, even McGonagall didn't say anything about how Rosemary and Alexander were the 2nd and 3rd hybrids to come to the school in the past 5 years. Sure, she did say that there were a few students in the past who had turned into magical vampires, but no hybrids to speak of.
"So what's your vampire power?" Rosemary asked all excited like.
Rosemary had this catalog of vampires and if they had powers or not.
"I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours." Hermione challenged
"I can freeze time with a snap. And if I hold onto someone they don't get frozen. But it doesn't effect the air or objects." Rosemary said
"I can manipulate water in anyway I like." Alexander said
"In what way?" Hermione asked
"Freezing, boiling, moving, walking across it while it was still in a liquid state." Alexander said
"Oh. I can see who someones soulmate is. The name floats above their head." Hermione said
"Who is my soulmate?" Alexander asked as he bounced up and down.
Rosemary had been taught by her father to never ask who her soulmate was till she was from 20 to 25 years old as it could make the whole world go topsy turvy. And Hermione was taught to never tell Rosemary her soulmates name till that time for the exact same reasoning by her father. Hermione knew who Rosemary's soulmate is and had even met him several times over the years.
"Her name is Leah Clearwater." Hermione said
This made Rosemary and Alexander freeze as Leah lived on the other side of the treaty line and was off limits to the coven. They had met Billy Black, the tribes chief, a few times, and he explained the treaty to them in detail that a child like them could understand.
"How?" Alexander asked in a whisper as he looked to his sister.
They looked to each other with horror written on their faces as they didn't know how or what to make of all this information. The Cullens had rules to follow if they ever wanted to stay alive or welcomed back into Forks if what they were told was true. Biting Leah was a nonnegotiable when respecting the rules and staying off the radar when there are humans involved with it all.
"We'er going to have to call dad on our mirrors. He is the only vampire that Billy and the council will listen to." Rosemary said
While Rosemary and Alexander were the only two Cullens allowed on the reservation whenever they want due to them being able to eat human food. They only got this chance as Carlisle is the voice of reason for his side of the line and made it clear that Rosemary and Alexander were no harm to their people. That was why the twins were allowed to cross the line with out any repercussions of them or the rest of the coven getting their heads ripped off of their shoulders.
"What are you two talking about?" Hermione asked
The twins then look back to Hermione when she had said something.
"We should have used your powers for this discussion." Alexander said
"Here's the thing Hermione. In America there is a town called Forks, Washington this is on the west coast of the continent. It's nestled up right next to a coastal native American reservation. And on that reservation, there is or was a pack of shapeshifting wolves who know about vampires as vampires somehow trigger their shifting capabilities. The reservation is wolf land while Forks is vampire land as long as no vampire, visiting or resident, drinks human blood or changes a human without proper authorization. And the answer is usually a big fat no." Rosemary said
"And Leah Clearwater lives on wolf territory and she can't be changed as the the treaty said that no natives who live on the reservation can be changed into vampires, even if it's their idea and they put in a formal request for it to be done. So there is no why for me to be with her for my whole life, only a short period of time before she dies." Alexander said gloomily
"Though Alice, our covens future seer, is concocting a plan to as the council to change someones mate who is human and was born about two years ago in Forks and the Chief of the tribe personally knows. I just don't know how they'd all take it." Rosemary said
"What if someone changed her that is not apart of the treaty?" Hermione asked
"The Volturi honors the treaty that our father and the natives have made back in the 30s as they don't want a war with the wolves. Or any shifter around in the world for that matter." Rosemary said as she had her voice in a matter of fact tone.
"And no other vampire not apart of the Volturi or our coven would be stupid enough to changer her as they would be going against their kings and their favorite coven." Alexander said
"Oh." Hermione said looking to her hands in disappointment.
December 1993
On the train back to Kings cross station, Rosemary and Alexander were nervous about what everyone will ask about the school. They even didn't know what their family would do with the information that Hermione is the daughter of Alec and a muggle born witch. Hermione's situation on how she was born was really similar to exactly like how Rosemary and Alexander were born, but four years apart.
"There they are!" Emmett said loudly as the twins came into view.
In order to keep the vampire secret, Rosemary and Alexander ran at human speed and hugged everyone who had come to pick them up for the break. Though there was a few people on the platform trying to get as far away from the Cullens as possible all the while staying close to the exit. Carlisle knew from his time here back in the 80's that these people were James Potter, Regulus Black, Remus Lupin and Sirius Black. Carlisle knew they still hated him from taking away Lily from them like that, but there was nothing he could to at the time.
Carlisle knew from his time with the Volturi that Witches and Wizard are deathly allergic to vampire venom, so he couldn't change Lily even if he wanted to. Everyone was happy to see the twins after being at the school for 4 months and the twins were happy see their mix matched family once again. And once the family of vampires got to where they were staying for the break, Carlisle sat the kids down so they could talk more about Hermione and Leah. There were some questions that needed to be answered and a real big discussion to be had with Alexander about his potential mate.
"So you've met Alec's daughter, Hermione?" Carlisle asked
"Why didn't you tell us that he had a hybrid daughter who is about 4 years older than us?" Alexander asked
"I had found out about her just after you two had left on the train as I had seen him on the platform. And I didn't know how you'd take it." Carlisle said
"But not even McGonagall had told us about her." Rosemary said
"I asked her about it and she had said that she had her own set of friends and didn't know if you two would ever meet her." Carlisle said
"But I'm in the same house at school as her." Alexander said with his eyes narrowing in question
"I told her that, but she still stood by what she had said." Carlisle said
Carlisle kind of blamed himself for all of this mess just because of the way he had been raised before he had been changed. When he was first changed into a vampire, he thought he was being punished by god for sinning or something along those lines. And when his children were accepted into Hogwarts, even though he saw it coming, he thought he was being punished. And now, Alec's daughter and her power were messing up a lot of things that Carlisle had hoped that he would keep buried for a bit longer.
"Can everyone except Alexander leave, please. I need to talk to him about his potential mate. And I would like to do that privately." Carlisle said
Everyone had left the house to go hunting as they hadn't done that in a while and they didn't need to spend time in jail for killing someone. Rosemary seemed happy hunting with her family once again as she had really missed this part of drinking blood like she does. Back at the house, Alexander was nervous about what was coming up.
"So your mate is Leah Clearwater? Huh?" Carlisle asked
"Yep." Alexander said popping the 'P'
"How do you feel about?" Carlisle asked
"How should I feel? She can't be bitten. She'll die before we could get anywhere with our relationship. I can't even tell her without being banned from the reservation like you all are." Alexander said
When Rosemary and Alexander were allowed onto the reservation, they had their very own treaty made up with rules and everything. And one rule said that if they mate with a native, they can't tell the native without being banned from the land till the end of time. This special treaty was made back in June when Carlisle took his children to Forks to check up on the house there and he met up with Billy Black. Billy and the rest of the council found out that Rosemary and Alexander were and made the treaty with them as they knew they wouldn't be any harm.
"We'll work something out. I'll talk to Billy to see what can happen with the two of you." Carlisle said
"How? He'll never approve it." Alexander said
"I'm sure that he will approve it. But there is a work around if he doesn't. If someone who was not you or your sister tells Leah, then your treaty is safe." Carlisle said
Alexander still hated this idea, but he had to agree to it as there was really no other option that wouldn't get him banned from the Rez or get everyone killed. When everyone came back to the house, they all seemed happy, or happier, then before as they just ate and probably played a game as well. When everyone came home, Carlisle took Alexander out hunting to eat something as well so they wouldn't have to go hunting later on in the trip. When the two came back they saw that everyone was away wrapping presents with human speed to stop the paper from ripping in their little areas and they decided to do the same.
Rosemary was in her trunk apartment wrapping all the things she had owl ordered from all the catalogs that she got during her trip to Diagon Alley back in August. After Rosemary finished her wrapping and begun reading a book, Carlisle soon came to see what his daughter was doing right at that moment in time.
"Hey sweetheart. You doing good?" Carlisle asked
"Yep." Rosemary said
"How was your time at Hogwarts?" Carlisle asked
"Its good. Ashely and Brenda seem to like me a lot even if they know about my hybrid status." Rosemary said
"They seem like really good friends to you." Carlisle said
"They are good friends. It seems like we all could be the best of friends." Rosemary said
"How did they find out about your status?" Carlisle asked
"Back in September, we were in here to study for a project. I came down first before them so I could quickly drink some dragons blood and before I could finish up, they came down. They asked what I was doing with the blood and in a panic, I told them the truth about what I am." Rosemary said
"And they took it well?" Carlisle asked
"Well, they had seen me eat normal human food many times since meeting, so they knew that I was safe to be around." Rosemary said
"Can you trust them not to betray you?" Carlisle asked
"When they found out about my status, they both took an oath not to tell people without my permission." Rosemary said
Soon Rosemary was called up to the kitchen for the dinner Esme had made for her and Alexander when she finished her wrapping.
"This all smells good mom." Rosemary said
"Thank you sweetheart. Now eat up." Esme said as she handed her daughter a plate full of food
"Thank you mom." Rosemary said as she took the plate before walking over to the table to eat.
Alexander soon came into the kitchen for his portion of food and like his sister, he too said thank you and that it smelled good. And after they ate and cleaned up after themselves, the twins went to finish their winter break homework so they could have fun every other day they have free. While Rosemary breezed through the homework, Alexander had a bit of trouble figuring out everything that was on the pages. Rosemary helped her brother a bit, but she needed him to know these things himself because she wouldn't be around all the time.
Alexander didn't know what that meant, but he understood that when they got older, they would be doing their own things, have their own lives and have their own jobs.
