Thank you to everybody who read or reviewed the last set of emails. Welcome to more messages to the beta timeline. I originally had all of the emails together. Per the rules of the story, I focus on one character per chapter. Therefore, I split things up. At least this way, everything is together. Also, you finally get to read MJ's letter to Kamala.

Sorry, this update is late. Every time I tried to upload it to A30, the system was down. I did not want to post until I could on both sites.

Emails 7: My Father's Daughter

Dear Kamala:

We got your letter. I'm glad you and your friends are willing to help us. I'm sorry none of us replied when the original message came through Thursday night. The last couple of days have been hard for all of us. I neglected to check my email, and Ana decided not to inform us about your responses immediately. Thankfully, I have a few minutes to reply before the next window opens tonight.

Good news: my cousin is safely back on Earth. She brought a few unexpected visitors, but it could be worse. At least she's alive and mostly in one piece. That's the most I can hope for at the moment.

Now for the more complicated stuff. First, you should know that there's another time traveler among us. He is another version of your dad, Steve. However, he goes by Grant Roth. Yes, the comic book writer and artist responsible for the good Capt. America books.

He married his first boyfriend after going back in time to probably free Bucky from Hydra mind control after losing his Tony and Black Widow in his original timeline. Instead, he got Ana Jarvis killed, although Agent Sousa managed to live until the 1980s in our timelines instead of being murdered in the 50s like in Grant Roth's timeline. Hydra was outsmarted a little bit. All of that happened before the timeline split back in 2016, which means all that occurred in your timeline, too.

The drawings made by the variant of your baby sister regarding your future stepdad's untimely demise were from the original Grant Roth timeline. I think GR came to our timeline to make one where his other self ended up with Tony. [Exasperated emoji]

How's that going in your timeline? You mentioned your parents were divorcing. I'm sorry about that.

Anyway, we now know that your sister's drawings aren't necessarily what's happening in our timeline but several different timelines. We think she can see all the timelines. So, we must see what she creates as a guide, not the absolute truth of what will happen to us.

Unfortunately, a variant of your mom didn't see it that way. She passed away two days ago to retrieve something to help us defeat Thanos. I can't say what it was, but it's crucial for us to win.

None of us have been handling her loss well. Mainly, it happened because Agent May saw drawings of Natasha dying instead. (This is what happened in the Grant Roth timeline.) She didn't want Daisy to lose another significant other, so she did the mission herself. My cousin is still devastated.

She is in a complete state of denial and probably only fell asleep tonight because the medical staff medicated Daisy. At least she's safely back on Earth. I am grateful for that. I'm worried she's shutting us all out, but that's something to worry about after we're done with the purple monster.

There's a plan in place. I only know some of the details. But the main objective is to ensure Afia's dad or your future stepdad does not use the ring pop gauntlet. Their hearts are too weak to survive the experience. Even I would have a better chance of surviving, and I am a baseline human.

People whose powers were derived from the [redacted] have the best chance of survival. We're trying to find Carol Danvers in our timeline. Apparently, in your timeline, she's known as Captain Marvel. Her powers came from the space [redacted]. Because of that, she would easily survive, using the you know what to bring everybody back.

Unfortunately, we are unable to contact her in our timeline. The falcon is on a mission to find her but has failed to succeed. Coulson doesn't remember her even though he should because Fury wiped out parts of his memories. The Tahiti protocol is evil. (At some point, I need to tell you what happened to my Uncle Cal.) We can't find Nick Fury. Nobody has seen him since he snuck into the Avenger compound on Thanksgiving 2016.

I have this feeling that you won't have the same problem. We need Carol Danvers. Can you get in contact with her in your timeline? Can you get her to the Avenger compound by tomorrow, October 14? Yes, by the time you get this, it might be Saturday already. It is Saturday here, technically. Although it's also March here and it's October where you are. Any help would be appreciated. I'm tired of our people dying.

PS: Ana told me that Afia is trying to drop off a present for you and the others. I don't know what that means. We will have to wait and see.

Dear MJ:

Yes, I can get in contact with Capt. Danvers. Even though Deke is her usual Earth contact, she sends me cat pictures sometimes. Also, occasionally, I ask her questions for fanfic reasons. I'm currently doing an Adventures of Carol Danvers webcomic. I want to be authentic, but I'm not allowed to write stories about my parents. Is this going to apply to Tony once they get married? I hope they make it.

I don't want to think about my mom dying in another timeline. Although I guess she's not my mom there since the snap didn't happen. Are my parents still OK? My biological parents. Is the baby bird still with her birth mom?

Although it's nice to know how my sister's visions work. The baby bird wants me to contact Carol, too. We need her here, so I'm planning to email her.

I am not surprised that a version of my dad went back in time to get with Uncle Tony. That's exactly something he would do. Also, trying to save Uncle Bucky would definitely blow up in his face.

I am surprised that one of my all-time favorite comic book artists is a version of my father. His books are considered classics, especially after he was lost during the decimation. That makes sense. The world doesn't need two Steve Rogers, so one of them had to go. I'm glad my dad was the one who stayed.

Thank you for your condolences regarding my parents' marriage. I'm still processing it. I know they mostly got married to keep custody of me, but I'm worried about what's going to happen to our family, especially if we bring everybody back. Am I going to be shuffled around to three different houses? I want my birth parents and brother back, but I don't want to lose what I already have.

I am still determining what the status of my dad's relationship with Uncle Tony is at the moment. My little sister drew a picture of the two of them watching Muppet Treasure Island together, so make of that what you will. That will be the one silver lining to my parents' divorce. Those two being hopelessly in love with one another is a multi-verse constant.

Please move objects to the beta timeline soon. The whole point is to get us the you know what so we can bring everybody back. I still want that, even though it will blow everything up regarding my family. I want everybody back, so I will help however we can. I will do my best to contact Captain Danvers. She's far away, so I wonder if I can get her here today, but I will try my best.

Hello Captain Danvers. It's Director May-Rogers' daughter, Kamala. I promise I'm not writing for advice on my latest adventures of Captain Marvel webcomic. I'm sure you're aware that my sister sometimes draws the future. A situation is coming up soon, and we need you back on Earth, possibly today. If not, something terrible will happen.

PS: Bring Goose.

Kamala looked up from her Stark pad to see her sister and future stepsister enter her room with backpacks and suitcases in hand.

"Why do you guys have your suitcases?" She asked the two girls.

"We're going to go see my daddy," Morgan answered. "Robin says my big sister is going to need him." Kamala will assume she's the big sister in this scenario, but maybe it's Robin.

"I don't think we can see any of them right now. They don't want us at the compound because they're doing grown-up things." This annoyed Kamala because she needed to be with them for this mission. She wants to protect her future stepdad along with her mother now. She wasn't losing another mom. She refused to.

"We have no choice but to go. Morgan's sister is going to need the med bay." As Robin spoke, a young African American woman appeared in the middle of the room. She had a watch in her hand.

"OK, that shouldn't have happened." The teenager said as she placed her hand over her heart. "Oh, that really shouldn't be happening. Of course, Wanda's plan would kick in at the worst possible moment. This is her revenge on the Stark line for killing her parents. Fuck Obadiah forever."

"Swear jar," Morgan cried out.

"I think I left my wallet in the other timeline but will settle up later," the teenager told Morgan.

"Afia?" Robin said it as a question.

"Yes. How do you know that?"

"Robin just knows things. It's her superpower. I am Morgan." The little girl explained. "Are you my big sister?"

"I am if you're Morgan Potts." The little girl shook her head yes.

"Then I am your big sister from another timeline, Afia Margaret Stark-Rogers. I think I'm going to need your dad to help. I was taking the watch off when it brought me here, and now I have a pulse. This is weird because I shouldn't have a pulse or the need to breathe. Friday, are you available? It is bizarre asking for myself."

"Yes, Ms. Stark-Rogers. Is there anything I can assist you with?"

"Can you please run a scan to see if I am an LMD?" The teenager asked the AI.

"You are 100% organic, Ms. Stark-Rogers." At the announcement, Afia collapsed to the ground.

"Is she why we have to go to the compound?" Kamala asked her sister.

"Yes," Robin answered.

"Let's go find Pepper." She's sure Afia is going to need medical.

To be continued…
