Disclaimer: Pokemon is owned by the Nintendo, Hakunon/Fate is owned by the all-powerful Mushroom(Nasu), and all that stuff.
Tinkatink groaned, using Fairy Wind to the level to cover their escape exhausted her energy but she wasn't out of the woods yet, and being surrounded by dozens of Spinaraks and a positively ancient Ariados made her hesitant. She could feel its strength and had no choice but to acknowledge it as the strongest Pokemon she had ever encountered. She knew when she could have fun and when to be serious.
The berry the interesting human gave her was helping, but she was still tired. She had to give props where it was due, the Human had possibly saved her life.
"The young one brought you here… you will be safe in my Territory."
"Human child fun!"
"Boring Clothing though!"
"Boring!" Dozens chittered and laughed.
She did owe the Human, she did have her pride as a Fairy, perhaps she would like one of her rejects? Humans loved poor metal she could smell a small hint of Iron in the room, her eyes blearily looking for what she hoped was some of a decent quality.
She had expected a fellow Smith to have decent quality metal but alas all he had was stone and Scrap good enough for her to practice with but not good enough to be used for her life work.
"Do not take my relaxed state as permission to steal little Fae, the young one bringing you here has earned you at least a rest, my children have already … taken care of your hunters." Well, that was one annoyance off of her shoulders, she had only removed one part of one of their extra nests that may or may not have collapsed later that night for one of her many attempts at creating a good hammer.
This town's metal was terrible.
"I am not that desperate Ancient One."
"Bah Ancient One she says… But good… the Drifter seems to be readying to leave, if you wish to stay or go, I shall leave it up to you, but once your recovery is complete you are to leave my Master's den." She felt a chill go up her spine, the wound on her back was already healed she was just exhausted, but she doubted the old Monster would let her sleep here.
"Drifter?" What was a Drifter?
"Little One is a Drifter!"
"The Guardian of the Forest blessed young Human!"
The Ancient Ariados shifted its leg, "Drifter… is a term for one blessed by Mythical Celebi, a thread displaced in the Weave of Time. Adrift in the Weave they find challenges to overcome and rarely will one stay in the same place, once their deeds are done it isn't uncommon for them to be returned home. But this new one will stay forever in this time, at least that is what this old body feels. But…" The Ariados chittered out a cough, "Bah, you wish to hear her tale? You must ask her yourself."
Hmm… Drifter… Maybe she could be her ticket out of here? And going by the lack of her sending out another Pokemon…
A Fae always pays back their debts and she owed this human at least a small one.
"Thank you again, Ms. Naoko, those Rattata were very insistent on targeting this one and …"
The Seamstress waved her hand, "Bah, those mice barely deserve mention, the little ones were growing hungry anyway, they love snacking as soon as they wake up."Ah, she had forgotten most Pokemon are omnivores.
Hakuno gave a light shrug, "Still, thank you and your brood for saving us."
"I'm sure ya would've thought of somethin', the little thing your Starter?" Naoko leaned down and inspected the Tinkatink, the gnome seemed to be conversing with Ariados and seemed conflicted when Naoko lifted its arm, "Eh, not enough arms you should go to Illex and get yourself a Spinarak or three, should've let the mice feast…" Hakuno sighed.
"My… Rose saved me from a similar situation… how could I ever look at her again if I left her there?" Naoko frowned.
"Hmm… Well, Kiddo, you do what you want to do, just be careful. Fae may be truthful folk, but they are stubborn little bastards." Hakuno gave a small nod.
Did the little Tinkatink want to join her?
Perhaps… she should find a place to speak to them, Human to Pokemon. She glanced down at her lap, the Tinkatink seemed to be contemplating something. Hakuno frowned, how should she approach this? She stood up, using one hand to ensure the Gnome did not fall, and she gave a small bow.
"Hmm. Tomorrow I expect to see you wearing your new clothes. Spent far too long on it for them to collect dust ya hear?" She smirked, "Although you should get little Maizie to patch that tear, she hates sewing." She cackled, Hakuno had forgotten the small Rattata had bitten her shoulder.
It didn't hurt nearly as much as she expected, barely a trickle of blood from the wound that had already stopped bleeding, the teeth luckily didn't get much traction on her skin. Hakuno gave Ms. Naoko a small nod and with Tinkatink choosing to remain in her arms as she left she took it as a sign that they were at least willing to hear them out.
Roughly halfway to Kurt's house she stopped, there was a small park with a picnic table, not the best place to have a possible life-changing conversation but as dusk was creeping in the park was empty, letting the Fae and the Ex-AI a moment of peace.
She placed the now fully awake Tinkatink on the table while taking a seat. "... I'm… not sure how this goes." Her contract with Nero was simple, happening in less than a moment, and she barely could call herself human then. More of a, burning hope to live.
"Tink." Tinkatink shrugged as well, "Tinkatink." It showed its empty hands before bringing out, a small puff of glitter-infused wind.
"I… thank you for listening to me in the chase." Tinkatink looked at her strangely, how did people communicate with Pokemon? Tinkatink made a motion that Hakuno could understand and keep speaking. "Do you like it here?"
"Atink, Tinka." The Gnome shook their head, "Tinka." Hakuno had the feeling of displeasure.
"I… have to leave in a month. I can't promise you much, I intend to see what the world has to offer. I can't promise you that you will become the strongest, I don't know how to train a Pokemon. Nor can I promise you that you will be my closest companion, that spot lies with another..."
"Tink. Tinka, Tin."
"She was someone important to me, and Nero… Nero is gone…," The Gnome paused, "She was my Servant, a hero with a blade made of flames and a smile that could melt the coldest of icebergs. She saved me the same way I saved you… except a lot more gallantly. A blade of fire cutting down a wooden doll is far more impressive than a scared girl tossing a rock…" Hakuno was rambling. She had to get back on topic.
There might be time for tales later down the line…
"Tinka." A reassuring hand on her shoulder.
"Thank you… But, I guess what I mean to ask… do you want to travel with me? I can't do what others will, but I know how to command in a one-on-one fight, we don't have to fight too often, I need to obtain a single Gym Badge but will continue to fight if you…"
"Tink." A nod.
Hakuno's shoulders relaxed, and she gave the small Gnome a genuine smile.
"Thank you… I don't wish for this relationship to be one-sided… if you have requests I can grant, I will do my best."
Hmm. This human did have an interesting way of speaking. She can't say she fully understood all of it, but, she claims to know someone with a Sword made of Flames? She didn't know any other Tinkatink, but if a human had a Sword like that… Eh, she was more interested in Hammers but she couldn't say she wasn't interested.
The Girl was nice. She would be fun to play a few pranks on very straight-laced, constantly serious, and somewhat nervous. Now that she was out of that Ariados' lair she could unwind a bit.
But…
It has been a long day, so her new 'Trainer' will get a pass for now.
"Oh right… which one do you want?" The girl pulled out two of those spheres, "They are Pokeballs… you're required to have one, if not you are considered 'wild' and can be captured by someone else." Hrm… She felt the smoothness of the met- stone. It was made of stone.
Strange, she always thought it would be made of Metal. She did expect that one day she would be captured, at least this way she had a bit of say in the matter, this girl was as good as any. And being a Starter meant more than just an addition. She gets to boss around the new Trainees whenever the… hmm she will have to come up with a name for her.
Trainer just doesn't feel right.
She looked over the two, before lazily pointing at the Green One. She might be a Fairy, and like all be somewhat attracted to the Moon, as all their type was, but she didn't care enough to be influenced by it. She was a Smith first and foremost. One that may or may not play pranks on others. But the Fae blood in her tells her to do what she wants.
Her Trainer placed the sphere against her head, she chose not to struggle as the inside of the ball conformed to her desired habitat. Sadly, she could see the red light forming it all, she knew it to be fake. But she could appreciate the Ball's attempt. The bedding was relaxing, a nice comfortable pile of scrap. Maybe spending time in it wouldn't be too bad.
But she greatly prefers the outside world.
Within a moment, she was brought back out, the small smile on her Trainer's face hadn't faded yet, nor the small tears in the corners of her eyes. She gave a broad smile, first things first!
Time to get some rest.
Hakuno was surprised when Tinkatink fell asleep, she will have to think of a new name for her… All of Maizie's Pokemon had names outside of their species… She will have to brainstorm with the little Gnome. Perhaps a name based on Gnomes? Or of an Elemental?
Hakuno picked them up and continued the walk to Kurt's home. She cringed slightly at realizing how late she was, the city had few in the way of street lighting but she knew roughly the way there.
It was a quiet walk, nothing popped out of any bushes nor did she see anyone else walking in the night. She faintly heard a few sounds of fighting deep in the forest, but it was so far away that she had no doubt it would stay in Illex.
Hakuno went to knock on the front door but it slid open before she got the chance, "Where you've been? Thought you woul-" Maizie's eyes widened as she noticed the Gnome in her arms. "GRANDPA KURT!" Hakuno grimaced at the yell, Tinkatink stirred but didn't awaken.
"Maizie, please keep it down the neigh-" As he noticed the Pokemon in her arms he glared at it, "You caught the little Thief? Good, we can give it to the Aether Foundation to relocate it."
Hakuno shook her head, "My Starter."
Kurt sagged, "Didn't want a Slowpoke?" Maizie huffed at the question.
"All the new calf are too dimwitted to be a battler Grandpa…" Maizie stepped closer and poked at Tinkatink's hair, "Huh, didn't think it would be tough…"
"Just… keep that thing out of my forge, I can't be losing all my tools to it, if it gets hungry just give it a few berries or something." Hakuno gave a small nod, if the little thing really did eat Metal then she would have to go and buy some.
Since the tongs were used to make that hammer, it might be that they eat like normal Pokemon, but she will have to wait until tomorrow when the little one is awake. Maizie's eyes have yet to stop shining though.
"How did it happen? Did you just walk up to her and bam? Or did you-" Her eyes narrowed onto her shoulder, "Are you ok?" Kurt seemed to notice at the same time as Maizie.
"Who hurt you." Even if it wasn't directed at her Hakuno could feel the anger radiating off the old man. Even Shuckle popped out of his ball and was angry, although it was hard for her to take the Mold Pokemon seriously, the small noodle of a head just didn't look serious.
"Some Rattata … Ms. Naoko's Spinarak captured them." Maizie flinched at that while Kurt did a slow nod.
"If she took care of it then there their group is doomed," He glanced over at the clock, "It's late, Nurse Joy wouldn't take a house call for a small bite like that… if it still is bleeding or gets inflamed then I'll call her." Hakuno nodded. The teeth may have barely punctured her skin, but it was best to be careful, infections are deadly.
"Tell me…" Maizie yawned, "Everything… tomorrow." Hakuno gave her a small smile and nodded.
Hakuno awoke early, the sun had yet to rise, smoothing her new Jinbei and moving the little gnome onto the pillow she shifted to the small table.
Pulling out her Portable Terminal she brushed off the small amount of dust from where it was bitten before deciding to focus on the warnings, clearing the ones that just said warnings.
Newly Captured Pokemon detected, please scan and Process for indexing.
Hakuno shrugged lightly, pointing the device at the still-sleeping Pokemon, a nearly invisible light scanned the small Pokemon, after a moment the screen flashed and a new one popped up.
Tinkatink-
Fairy/Steel Type
Known Moves:
Fairy Wind
Baby Doll Eyes
Astonish
Quash
The Metalsmith Pokémon: This Pokémon pounds iron scraps together to make a hammer that will constantly be remade and reforged until they are satisfied. The hammer is in constant danger of being stolen by Pokemon that eat metal.
Realized Ability: Pickpocket
Possible Abilities: Mold Breaker/Own Tempo
Warning: The individual scanned is showing signs of minor malnutrition.
Huh. So it was a Smithing Pokemon, a few different names came to mind, and going from how easily the hammer broke… She had a feeling that the Pokedex entry was about that.
And malnutrition was expected living in the wild, especially in the city, would mean less food and certainly less of what she would require to grow.
Connecting to the equivalent of the World Wide Web let her do something she hadn't been able to do before: find out more about the current world situation other than from rumors and see guides on how to take care of a Fairy and a Steel-type…
Two types that seem at great odds with each other, most Fairies from what she recalled in her world abhorred Iron, it represented Mankind's technology, a step closer to the Age of Man. In this world, Fairy-Type Pokemon were still weak to steel-type energy…
She brought out the note section and noticed how strange their internet was, there were blogs she could access, and she did not doubt that her Portable Terminal could hack into anything it so desired, but the overall internet was more lacking than she expected. It mainly focused on Pokemon Battling, Typing, and just Pokemon in general, the few blogs that didn't seem to relate to Pokemon were ones devoted to exploration and traveling. She managed to find a small exert about Tinkatink, a Pokemon originating from the Paldea Region and is an all-female species, and they are not metalavores.
Other than the endless cascade of Pokemon Blogs, that she will have to sort through later, there was a video site that contained endless Pokemon Videos.
From a child's first battle with his partner Pikachu to Champion Lance fighting the new 'Elite Four' Member Green. With a thought and the help of the Portable Terminal, she made a playlist of the very few videos of Tinkatink and its evolutionary line. She already had an account on the 'Poketube' tied to her Trainer Account it was something that got set up as it was a part of her Trainer ID.
The concept of Trainer ID was strange to her, it had all public and private information about her and her 'career' in this world. It even includes her win/lost ratio for League Matches.
She didn't know how to feel that she sat at a win rate of Zero Percent.

Hakuno shielded her eyes from the sunlight pouring in, she barely noticed the sun starting to peak out above Illex, and the little Gnome started to stir. Hakuno sat patiently, sipping on some water, she made it a habit to fill her water bottle any chance she got now, and after pouring some in the cap she offered it to the bleary-eyed Pokemon.
Tinkatink nodded at her "Tink." and began to drink.
"I was thinking of a nickname… how does Nomia sound? She is an Oread which is a type of personification of Mountains they are associated with a mythological Goddess of the hunt from my home." Well, Nero's home, Diana/Artemis was the goddess of the Hunt and the Moon that was known to favor them.
Tinkatink frowned, "Tink?"
"Diana, or Artemis, was a Goddess of the Hunt and Moon. Nomia was related to one of her followers, but the exact relation wasn't known. She, like all Nymphs, is regarded as a beautiful young woman." Hakuno had thought for the hour or two since she had awoken on what nickname would fit, from Ippondatara to Vulcan but most things associated with Smithing that she knew of were male or didn't fit the small Tinkatink.
Being linked to the Moon by her and Tinkatink being part Fairy type and embodying a place that Metal is located was the closest she could come up with. Whether or not the Nomian Mountains had iron was something she didn't know.
Tinkatink seemed to love the part about being called beautiful she puffed out her chest and exclaimed "Tink!"
"Then, Nomia. I believe we should discuss our next steps."
"Tink?"
Author's Notes: That's a wrap! A sort of spoiler kind of, I intend for Hakuno to name most of her Pokemon after Greek/Roman myths. If possible, I'll probably stick to the Nymph naming scheme depending on if she sticks with an all-female team, if not then I'll figure it out.
Not sure if Hakuno will have a Mono-Type team or not, I like both steel and fairy. Ghosts are rad too... anyways~
Nomia (Literal meaning: Method): An Arcadian Nymph whom the Nomian Mountains were named after, with a relation to the Nymph Callisto (Either Nurse, Mother, or Companion). Possibly might be the one who blinded Daphnis son of Hermes and follower of the Goddess Artemis. (If she is, she would have been a Naiad not an Oread, but I like the name and well it's not known if she was the one or not)
Not sure how I'm doing with the Portable Terminal, might change how it displays the stuff later…
Anyways Cya'll laterz.
