"Ok Nomia, let's see what you can do." Pulling up her status again on her PT, she quickly closed the personality request screen as Nomia removed her little apron, "It says you have three more moves than Fairy Wind… You clearly know how to use Baby-Doll Eyes."

She pretended to look offended as she kicked the ground, "Tink?" Hakuno rolled her eyes as the Gnome pretended not to understand that move, Hakuno wasn't born yesterday.

It was two months ago.

"It says you have Astonish and Quash?" Two fairy, one dark, and one ghost-type move. A decent range of the more esoterical types, although it is strange she doesn't have anything related to her Steel typing.

She flicked through a few videos before landing on a video of a Murkrow performing said moves, the little Gnome nodded repeatedly, shaking herself off and handing the now folded apron to Hakuno who took a moment to place it into her backpack. She turned around to face the little Fae.

She glanced at where Nomia was.

Who wasn't there?

Hakuno tilted her head.

She began to move her head to look towards Maizie who was training with Pokey and Teddy nearby but…

"TINK!" Jumping into her face with a tiny whiff of pink glitter-infused black smoke around her face making her tiny face twice the size she stuck out her tongue before she fell back onto the ground, clutching her stomach and laughing.

Hakuno waved her hand to clear the smoke before asking "Astonish?" The little Fae froze at her nonchalance and looked so disappointed she couldn't help but give a small giggle. The little Gnome was offended she wasn't scared, huffing out her name with a sorrow-filled nod.

"Good… and Quash?" Tinkatink frowned, shrugging her shoulders and taking a moment to concentrate before incredibly hazy charcoal-gray energy surrounded her hand and tapped her leg. As she began to pant slightly she motioned for Hakuno to move.

She found moving her leg slightly harder, almost as if she was moving through sand, it didn't stop her but made it slightly slower to move her singular leg. Huh, after a moment the 'debuff' went away giving her leg full movement.

But that was a strange move, sadly too slow to use in Combat, at least for now. Nomia seemed to mostly understand her Fae and Ghost energies or maybe it was due to wanting to prank her that let her tap into her Ghost abilities? She sighed, it was much easier in the Moon Cell, Saber took care of this sort of thing…

How should she go about this? Nero knew all of how to use the Mana given to her, she only had to channel her Od into her Formal Wear to activate their effects so she had no idea how to figure that out other than by repetition.

But…

Hakuno's eyes trailed towards the little gnome, she was slamming one piton onto the other, giving stern looks at each other before continuing. She could see faint silver and pink energy emitting from the little Gnome's hands every time they clashed.

Maybe she should let her at least make a hammer that she could use first, her species were known for their oversized hammers. Hakuno took a seat, keeping an eye on Nomia as she surfed the Pokenet, she sought out what information there was about teaching the little fae.

"TINK!" Hakuno's eyes snapped back towards Nomia, the little fae held up the small warped piton. It looked like she somehow managed to fuse the two, one of them was spread thinner and wrapped around the other, she had left a few scraps on the ground though.

Type Energy does incredible things…

Nomia waved the small hammer a few times before smashing it on the ground. Repeatedly. Hakuno thought she saw a slight movement in the grass nearby, but she wrote it out of her thoughts as if nothing else had moved.

Watching as the little gnome checked on the status of the hammer before giving a small nod, she trotted up to Hakuno showing off her creation with an adorable "Tink." She had to pick up the little Fae as she tried her best to climb up to sit beside her with only her singular hand free.

"Nomia, it looks very nice," it looked dangerous at least, "For now we should focus on what you know and build upon that." Seeing her disappointed frown Hakuno wanted to pet her.

But Nero had mentioned the best way to train was to build up what you know, build on it before moving on to something else, admittedly Nero knew a lot and had a skill that let her take her opponent's abilities and mimic them with frightening accuracy.

It was the only reason they survived against Assassin.

"At least to the point you can use your other two moves as fluidly as your Fairy Windor Baby Doll Eyes before learning anything new… I'll see if I can find some videos of your evolved forms for you to watch." Admittedly, due to the Personal Terminal's lack of care for 'laws and regulations' it had managed to hack into and form a sort of Global network, while some videos to many would be locked by their respective leagues Hakuno had no problem accessing it.

She managed to find a trainer in the distant Paldea that had a Tinkaton as her Ace, while she was only Eight Years old she was now a member of their Elite Four. Hakuno had no idea why a child could do all she had but, in the world of technicalities, she was only about 3 months old so…

Anyways, showing the projection of Tinkaton to Nomia lets the little Fae marvel at her final evolution, a stage that she hopefully can help her reach. She didn't know if she wanted to make a career out of Pokemon Battling, she hated fighting, but she sadly understood the importance of it… and she made a promise to Nomia.

And she doesn't give up, that promise might be what keeps her sane in this strange and weird world, that and… having something to tell Nero. Maybe she will find a way to summon her to this world, she doubts it, but it would be nice.

"Anyways, let's work on following orders a bit when in combat I have more experience than you-" She might not understand Pokemon at all really, but she could easily tell the look of disbelief on her face, "Yes I'm serious, I need you to dodge when I tell you and attack when I tell you." Hakuno had an idea, something that Nero had done to her in a completely different scenario but still would sort of work!

Maybe?

Explaining her thought process to Maizie caused her to hesitate but she decided to go along with her, "Hakuno, are you sure this is going to work?" Hakuno was lucky Maizie had a handkerchief in her purse, tying it around the little Gnome's eyes took a moment due to her strange hair but…

"I did something similar before, but it was mostly to deal with someone invisible." Admittedly, they had managed to stop his invisibility through sheer dumb luck so the practice was wasted. And it only involved one person throwing crumpled-up paper.

But!

"Tink." Nomia sounded unimpressed and did not fully trust her. "Tinkatink." Luckily she seemed willing to try… although was there a move that made a Pokemon invisible? She would have to look into that, being able to hide would be a massive addition to their arsenal.

"Alright, Maizie, can you have Pokey do a slow Water Gun? Teddy, please throw as soft as you can…" Hakuno thought she heard Maizie mumble something about practicing control, Hakuno's eyes should be able to keep up with the slow-moving water bursts even if it went at full speed but Nomia might not be able to react that fast.

"Alright, as slow as you two can make it," Pokey gave her a strange side glare before glancing up at Maizie who shrugged.

This would work!

It didn't work as well as she thought. She dodged two bursts before getting soaked and crying loud enough to alert a nearby Chansey.

"Sorry Nomia," She was lucky the Nurses gave her a small smile, that had as much malice as Julian's did, before handing her a towel. Turns out the little Fae did not like getting wet, her small metal chest-piece and her hair were made of excess Iron, and was sternly told to try her best to keep it dry until Nomia could keep it rust-free with her fairy or steel-type energy. Until then she should apply oil to the visible metal.

She made a mental note to swing back to the Pokemart and pick some up.

"Why didn't you mention the water issue…" Nomia gave her a look full of actual tears, not a hint of fairy-type energy. Has… it not rained since she was born? How young was Nomia? Maizie did mention that she was first seen around two months ago… was she older than Nomia?

"Tin! TINK!" Nomia growled out, "Tinkatink." All Hakuno got out of that was annoyance. She sighed, supposedly people got better at understanding their Pokemon the more connected they are and the longer they spend with them. So for all she knows Nomia might have said that.

"Alright, so maybe we should work on Quash, at least for now," Giving the little Gnome one final go around with the towel she huffed, Hakuno could see the slowdown move being useful if she could combine it with other moves and got it to work faster…

Nomia yawned, "Tin." She shrugged before waving her hammer and pointing at it, "Tink."

"You want… to use your hammer?" Seeing her nod made Hakuno frown. She had looked up what was considered the 'typical' moves for Tinkatink, and they don't usually involve her hammer due to how often they are broken/lost until they evolve… Maybe they could work a different move into it?

Who said all the moves had to be copies of their demonstrations on her Terminal? But seeing the expected look on the Gnome's face, and the tiniest amount of tears in her eyes made her concede.

"Alright, let's see maybe try and manipulate the Steel-Type energy into your hammer…" There was a somewhat similar move that Tinkatink might be able to learn a move called 'Metal Claw' but it's typically done with her hands, not her hammer due to its… fragility.

"Tink."

Seeing Nomia stand there made her pause, "You… don't know how to use your Steel-Typing do you?" Hakuno sighed at the bashful nod. "Well, I'll look up some ideas but for now try and figure out how to make Quash come out faster." Maizie might be able to help her, she knew more about this stuff than her.

"Oh, I got no clue."

Oh.

"Yeah, I haven't seen a need to figure it out yet, these two can't learn anything with it so I kind of figured I wouldn't bother with it for now, maybe Grandpa Kurt would be able to help?"

Glancing at the small Gnome panting as more hazy dark-gray energy came off her little arm, should she push harder? Or lighter? There wasn't a rush exactly. It felt weird to think about having multiple weeks before she needed to leave when her entire life was dedicated to single-week deadlines.

But, Steel energy might be best for her to learn, and with her insistence on using her hammer, it might be best to learn it faster, at least before Silver-Rock Island or whenever they find decent metal for her mace.

"Nomia, we are going to Kurt's house, while we walk try and keep the fairy energy around you to keep others away." A defensive way Of using the move would prove useful, her time commanding Nero involved short and simple orders.

Her Rose often forgot about how frail she was, she had to often remind her to block… They took a few moments to collect the limited gear that was brought out, including the few scraps that remained of the second Piton, it gave Nomia a moment to swirl around a tiny gust.

"Oy!" Hakuno blinked, it wasn't a voice she instantly recognized glazing up, and saw a redheaded girl approach her. Hakuno pointed at herself, "Yes you!" The girl stomped over to Hakuno as she glared down at them.

"What do you want Yoko." Maizie's voice was laced with annoyance… and just barely Hakuno had picked up an emotion so familiar to her, fear. Maizie's Pokemon must have heard it as well, Pokey leveling a glare at the intruder and Teddy clutching onto Maizie's leg.

"Fight me." She hissed, "I refuse to believe that you two passed fairly, I already spoke to my Father, and he is going to have Officer Jenny look at your results including the recording of your battles."

Maizie glared, "The Joy clan is known for their neutrality, that's why they are always in charge of these things when the Professors or League can't. Calling their ruling into question is arrogant just because you failed."

Yoko glared, "I didn't fail. You two cheated and my family refuses to accept that, so battle me." She pulled a solid white Pokeball from her sleeve, the ball growing in her hand. "I'll show them I'm better than you and will not be stuck in this backwater town for another fucking week."

She frowned, were all kids like this? She must have been lucky to skip over that age. Then again, Maizie was nice maybe Yoko is just a naturally mean kid? Yoko reminded her a bit of Shinji, but he was only Eight and a gaming prodigy so his arrogance fit him.

"Tink." Hakuno blinked in surprise, Nomia hopped down and stood in front of them and pointed her hammer at the redhead, "Tinkatink." Nomia glanced up at her expectedly.

Did… she want to fight?

"See your Pokemon even wants to leave you." Yoko stuck her nose up, "This Nobody can't train you can she?" Nomia huffed before pointing her hammer again and growled.

"Nomia?"

"Tinkatink Tink!" Was she trying to protect them? It was…

So cute.

"Sorry Maizie I guess Nomia wants to fight her." Giving Maizie a shrug as Maizie rolled her eyes.

"Alright, well our match tomorrow could be put off." Maizie gave her a shrug, before recalling her two Pokemon.

"Nomia was practicing her moves a lot today, how about tomorrow?" Give them some time around Kurt's forge and possibly ask Shuckle for advice to figure out Steel Type-Energy. Yoko looked at her dumbfounded, was she surprised that Nomia didn't want to join her?

Yoko shook her head, "Fine. I wanted a rematch with that one, but I suppose I can sweep you first. Be here tomorrow at noon, I'll bring Office Jenny so we have a truly impartial judge." Officer Jenny didn't seem like she did much in town if she was willing to watch two kids have a battle.

But, that wasn't her decision, after a few more silent moments Yoko flushed before stomping away.

"You know, Nomia's screwed right?"

"Why?"

"Cause her dad bought her a Houndour from a breeder that works with an Elite Four Member."

Oh.

Tomorrow should be interesting then?
