"Tinkatink."
"Mhm and then what?"
"Tinka. Tink! Tinkatink."
"Makes sense, you should've felt the devotion from that boy of Wrought Iron, it was so intense. Too bad I can't understand you on these calls, but I'm sure we can become fast friends!"
Hakuno knew what she was looking at, she had just taken a shower and left Nomia to guard her PT because she felt it was safest with her. But seeing the Hologram of Celebi lying on her bed with her Tinkatink animately waving her hammer and that vine, which was starting to turn to dust, was just well.
Strange.
Hakuno also wasn't sure why she could understand Celebi's voice. Tinkatink's understanding of her voice made sense, as Nomia can understand Hakuno's voice, but Celebi's inability to understand didn't make sense to her. Maybe it was something like being close to the Pokemon, and the other Pokemon could understand it? She wasn't too sure.
"My tiny child!" Hakuno quickly closed the door as soon as the Projection got close, revealing that her …connection to Celebi might not be the best thing to do in public. Kurt, Maizie, Nurse Joy, and the League, via Officer Jenny and Bugsy, is one thing… every random trainer in this Pokecenter is a completely different matter.
"Hello, Celebi."
The Green Fairy pouted, "Hi, I was just talking to your little one here, Tinkatink aren't native in this area, I've only seen a few dozen of them usually from trainers that I yoinked into the past or future. My duties don't let me take a vacation to other Regions often maybe I should take a trip sometime soon with tiny child…"
What did Yoink mean?
"Designated Trainer Hakuno Kishinami's Temporal Defense would protect-"
The speaker's voice came, and the Hologram of Celebi glared down at the Portable Terminal."As if I would send the tiny child! You stupid no-name machine!" Huh, Celebi had a point, a Portable Terminal didn't really sound unique, and well, if it was masquerading as a Rotom Phone, she wasn't too sure if calling it Rotom would fit… she did enjoy seeing how it was now a soft aquamarine.
"Do you two want names?" Might as well add Celebi as she doubted Celebi wouldn't be a common intrusion in her life from now on, and well it would get awkward when/if Celebi dragged her to see more of her kind.
The Onion Fairy's Holographic Eyes glistened and warped as a small pop as something shattered as The real Celebi appeared. The Hologram made by the Portable Terminal did not hold the same weight that the real one did, the slight fluttering of wings, the brightest blue eyes she had ever seen staring right into her soul.
"Of course! My tiny human! I trust you to give me a good name!"
"If …designated Trainer decides it is necessary." Hakuno gave a nod to the two, the small Celebi scaring the absolute shit out of Nomia as Celebi took her favorite spot on Hakuno's lap. Hakuno mindlessly pet Celebi's head, it felt strange like petting a leaf.
"Grr…" The Celebi looked off in the distance, "Stupid people doing stupid stuff, I can't stay too long."
"Tinkatink tinkta."
Celebi's eyes snapped to the little Fae, "Ha! Calling her that fits, you better take care of my daughter you hear?" Hakuno has decided for her own sanity she won't question the Voice of the Forest calling her her daughter.
"Portable Terminal, what about… Parcae after the Three Spirits of Destiny in Roman Myth due to you being with me since the beginning and helping me in the Moon Cell and in the future… Celebi…" Hakuno frowned, "How about Elpis? The Greek Spirit of Hope and Ambivalent Feelings." Both were connected to Greek and Roman myths like Nomia was, she already started with this naming scheme so she might as well continue it.
"Name change accepted."
Elpis squealed as she wrapped their hands around her head, "Good Name yes! You have got to tell me all about your past world, I want to hear your stories! Your tales! You're a hero after all!"
She's a what now? Hakuno… was not a hero. She couldn't even measure up to an actual Hero's shoes. All she was was a child doing her best to live. And crushed and destroyed those with beautiful dreams. Except for Atrum and Twice, their dreams would have killed humanity worse than her own did. Her home had a chance to heal, however minuscule it was.
Elpis glared at the door her blue eyes flashed purple for a split second, and a few moments later the light above the door flickered on.
"Warning! Pokecenter has been breached by an unknown entity! Emergency Evacuation is required! All Trainers please report to the reception desk!"
Ah, so that was what popped.
"Darn it, well! Time for me to go, be safe, love you, call upon my Temporal Fragment often!" With a final hug, the Time Traveling Pokemon popped out of existence leaving a faint floral scent.
"Tinkatink tink." Hakuno sighed at Nomia's exclamation the little Fae wanted to be carried. Scooping the Metalsmith up into her hands she made her way towards the door.
"Excuse me miss?" Hakuno blinked at the nearby officer, it had only taken her a few moments to arrive downstairs. "Do you have any Pokemon able to use teleport?"
Her eyes were drawn to the Man's shadow that was moving very subtly as well as the nearby Abra.
"No, no I do not." She held up Nomia a bit, "I only have a Tinkatink, Steel/Fairy type." The man glanced at Nomia.
"Can I see your ID?"
"Charles," Her eyes darted towards the Nurse Joy from yesterday, "Out of everyone in this Pokeceter Hakuno here has no chance of being the intruder, she just started her journey, do you really think a no badge trainer's Pokemon could shatter the barriers around this Center?"
Charles sighed, "You got a point, but I'm just doing my job, Joyce." He gave her a tired huff, "Alright kid, move along. You don't want to be here when the Ghosts come crawling out."
Nurse Joy rolled her eyes before whispering, "Don't worry, the center will be fine by tonight get out and have some fun kid." Hakuno gave her a nod before slipping out the door, she kind of felt bad for the kid with two Abras beside him.
His argument with the Cops was getting fairly heated… although it wasn't her fault Celebi broke in. At least, that was what she decided to delude herself into thinking.
"Parcae can you keep an eye around us and warn us if we miss something?" A soft beep, "Also can you show us the way to the Scrap Yard near Sarah's Ice Cream shop?" With another chorus of beeps, the Terminal floated in front of her face with a faint purple energy as a map appeared on its screen.
Hmm, it was a fair distance away basically on the other side of town… but there were a few parks and the whole trading festival going on… She should probably do her best to avoid it.
"Come on kid! Why don't you want this Zigzagoon!? They're rare in this region! It's even a regional variant! Do you even know what that is? You Johto kids need to know a good deal when you see one." Hakuno glared at the man in front of her.
"No, I will not trade." Parcae was shoved in her pocket, she had a feeling the man would've asked for that as well. She couldn't immediately identify the Pokemon, but she did recall a similar-looking one from Hoen, a nearby Region that is more tropical than Johto.
Hoen was one of the places she was thinking of visiting in the eventual future due to a few legends about a 'Wish-Granter', sadly the Pokemon would still be in their thousand-year sleep but still… Would be an interesting thing to see.
"Come on… Your Pokemon will be in good hands…" Nomia growled at him but it just seemed to egg him on more, seemed like she would have no choice but to fight him, and probably call the local police…"Every Pokemon in this town is up for-"
"Oy! Leave her alone!" Two voices overlapped and caused the man to pause.
Hakuno blinked, her eyes darted to the nearby alley as… "Vincent? Sarah?" The two younger children were coming up to them.
Hakuno sighed as she watched him click his tongue and duck his head back as he walked away from them back into the current of people.
"You better run!" Vincent called out while Sarah took a moment to look over Hakuno.
"Are you alright?"
Hakuno nodded, "Yes… I was going to have Nomia defend me…" The little Tinkatink looked upset at not being able to unleash her wrath, "Or call the Police." Nomia roared a tiny squeak of assurance. "Yes yes, I know you would've won…" If that Zigzagoon was the only thing he had then maybe… but coming from another region she doubted that was his sole Pokemon.
Although… "Thank you." Hakuno gave them a small nod of appreciation. She respected their sense of justice.
Sarah's face flushed, "Oh, it's no problem, we just uh…"
Vincent frowned, "She was dragging me around, didn't have much of a choice…" Sarah elbowed him.
"I was heading your way… but wanted to stop by the scrapyard first." Seeing the confusion on their face, "Tinkatinks need metal to make their hammers, hers is about ready to fall apart…" Nomia has done her best to keep her current hammer together, but she has noticed the faint chips and cracks on the metal.
She probably has only a few more battles left before it wouldn't be worth using.
Vincent frowned, "I see… You won't just waltz up and demand to enter right?" Hakuno tilted her head at demand. Why would she even do that?
"No?" A small flash of relief before being elbowed again by Sarah.
"Calm down, Grandpa Beryl won't be picked on as easy as you think. His Swalot is just lazy, not stupid." The boy blushed and glared at her.
"Siblings?" They didn't look alike, but maybe…
"NO!" They shouted over each other, a look of annoyance on their faces. Huh, not the reaction she was expecting…
"No way, why does everyone think that…" Sarah mumbled, "Just… childhood friends. Nothing more."
He deflated a bit at the last part, "Yeah, childhood friends…"
Hakuno felt there was more to it, but she didn't know them well enough to figure it out, although Nomia was snickering.
"Smooch." Ah, she had forgotten Crystal the Smoochum was there. "Smooooooch." The little pink Pokemon made Nomia gag after it blew her a kiss.
"Tink."
"Smoo?"
"Tinkatink."
"How bout we show you show you to Grandpa Beryl's Scrapyard?" Sarah made a point of ignoring Smoochum as the little ice type clung to her leg and glared at the Soomchum.
Vincent rolled his eyes, "Yeah, fine whatever. Might want to make sure you don't get caught up with a scammer again, persist assholes. Hate those guys, coming from out of Region to pick on us." Hakuno began to follow them, "So what if we start our journey a few years younger, just means we're smarter than them right?"
"I'm 16?" Sarah looked at her like she was lying, in a way Hakuno was lying as she had only been in this world for around a month or two, but well… she was based on someone that was that age.
"Huh. That explains why you beat me." Vincent shrugged, "Well, me and Sarah will head towards Cianwood and crush the gym there." An Ice Psychic would have an easier time against it, but his Mankey might not have the easiest…
Sarah rolled her eyes, "I'm only going around to collect a few before going back to school, I wanna take over my Mom's shop and all."
"Psh, I'll become a Gym Leader in no time, just you watch." It would be possible if Bugsy could become one at his age then it wouldn't be impossible, although he needed to train a lot more.
"So Hakuno, are you going to be a Nurse?" Sara noticing the large amount of Trainers ducked into a nearby alley, "This way, we know all the little paths." Hakuno frowned slightly, and Parcae beeped.
Taking a quick look at the device it flashed a thumbs up on the screen. Huh, strange… But she nodded and ducked into the alley beside the two kids.
"No… just traveling I want to see a bit before settling down." That's all she has at the moment, no grand idea other than seeing this world, "I want to get a few badges for the little one." At least she will try until Nomia either gets tired of it or they get enough money to not care about more fights. She might head to other regions but that would be probably after this 'circuit' or year.
"Huh, not aiming for the Conference?" Vincent held up someone's sheets as they went down another alley.
"As I've said before Vin, most people either don't care about going there or wash out before then," Sarah rolled her eyes, "Almost there, then you can let the… Tinkatink scrounge around."
Honestly following two barely teenage kids down dark alleys was probably a life experience she could only gain while she was still somewhat young, but Nomia and Parcae at least gave the kids their seals of approval even if Nomia didn't seem to care much for Sarah's Smoochum Crystal.
The Scrapyard was well dingy to put it lightly, she had nothing in her mind she could make a connection to other than well a dump. It was a simple, large dirt plot with piles of garbage lined up. An estuary connected the river and ocean underneath a small, dingy pier that held two small fishing boats.
Now that she was thinking about it it was also the first time she had seen the ocean, a real ocean, the digital ocean trapped in the Moon Cell didn't fully encapsulate the vastness she could barely make out from the little sliver her eyes could see. If she stressed her eyes she could faintly see ships leaving the actual dock deeper into the wide world, one of those ships she will be taking only in a few days.
She hopes that she can find the one that she has tickets to, Parcae or Elpis should be able to locate it. If not, then surely the Nurse Joys or the… Officer Jenny, (who she was hoping would be much nicer than her relative in Azalea Town) would be able to help her and locate it.
She made a mental note to call everyone from Azalea town tonight. She was too tired the previous day, so she will have to phone them to make sure they aren't too worried. From what she had gathered sometimes Trainers would disappear for weeks to months at a time so it shouldn't be too bad.
Nomia's eyes shined as she screeched her name the little Metalsmith jumped out from her grip and dashed towards the giant pile of garbage and what faintly looked like metal sheets.
Hakuno decided that she should at least follow Vincent and Sarah towards the small house/stall at the entrance, Nomia should be fine for now, what's the worst that she could do in a scrapyard?
"Oy! Grandpa B!" Vincent banged on the door while Nomia did her best to slide underneath the small barrier that was perfectly not blocking her at all, it was chest height for Hakuno, the little Smith could just walk normally under it but little Nomia was just so excited it seemed she couldn't recognize it.
Which was fair, to her this place might as well be the perfect area for the smith. The door attached to the barrier creaked open and an old man with wispy silver hair grinned madly when he saw them.
"Well looky here, little Vinny with two flowers on his side." Flowers? What did that mean? Did he actually have flowers with him? Although with how scarlet both Vincent and Sarah were she was fairly sure that whatever it meant flew over her head.
"Grandpa…" Sarah growled out before clearing her throat and glancing towards Hakuno, "We actually brought you a customer."
"What?" His eyes flicked towards her, "Why you wanna visit a dump girly? We ain't got those fancy fairies or cute little electric rats."
"My Pokemon uses Metal to craft weapons," He looked as Nomia had finally finished her struggle with the barrier and was leaning against her current hammer. Honestly, the little smith was becoming more and more open about her Fae instincts which she was fairly sure wouldn't end to well for her.
But she has dealt with worse. Hopefully.
"Huh. Well, I'll be, never even heard of one like that." He scratched the back of his head, "Sure, pay what ya can, I ain't so stingy to overcharge a kid on her first Journey, just if ya find anything let me take a look at it before ya run off. Dangerous things could be lurking and hidin' from ole Gully's sight."
"That's not fair…" Vincent mumbled, "I had to pay a week's allowance to be able to keep that Heavy Ball." Didn't Kurt give her one of those?
"Anything worth a damn I'll charge, but for a tiny chunk of metal it ain't too big a deal." He shrugged, "Keep an eye out for any Sticky Barbs, some kids found a few the day before and got a nasty cut from it." Keep an eye out for a ball of spikes in a mountain of trash?
Sounds simple enough.
The barrier clunked as it rose to let them have access, "Ok Crystal… see if you can't find a Nevermelt Ice… again." Sarah sighed as the little Smoochum frowned at her.
"Smooch." Shaking her head Crystal clung to her leg.
"Come on you know we need one…" Sarah was now standing on one leg and trying her best to dislodge the Pokemon.
"Mankey," Vincent's Mankey jumped out of its Pokeball, "Let's see if we can't find an Iron Ball we need to become stronger." His eyes flickered to Hakuno.
What did she do other than have Nomia beat him up in a fight he picked? The Mankey was also glaring at her, breathing heavily before huffing and shrieking at the large trash pile as Nomia gathered herself and charged at what might have been at one point in time parts of a ship, although with giant gouges and melted slag she could see why it was here.
She was in heaven, the metal might be of horrendous quality, but there was just so much of it. She found a few tiny pieces, not even the size of one of her fingers, that were still good enough.
Good enough to possibly become the core.
Not enough, far from enough to actually build it, she has to follow what calls to her. Probably, she wasn't too sure on that matter but it felt right and it was a few tiny screws and bolts that survived what might have been a larger Pokemon than she had ever seen. At least going from the gouges that sort of looked like teeth marks.
She smashed into the strange large metal piece repeatedly to get to the small fragments that would be acceptable to take. She did begrudgingly take some of the slightly less terrible pieces to make a new temporary hammer, after all the one in her hands wasn't long for this world. Which was only mildly upsetting, it has lasted her a good few fights but junk can only get her so far.
"I'll never be surprised, seeing a Fairy such as yourself delve into trash." Nomia rolled her eyes as her fellow Pink Pokemon, not a fae but might as well be one. "Why don't we get away and let the boy find what you're looking for?"
"Stupid! Gotta find shiny metal rock!" Nomia groaned as the little Mankey clambered onto what appeared to be a statue. Although, a shiny metal rock you say?
"Ugh, boys." Crystal huffed, "Come on Nomia, was it? It's rare for little Sarah to be so interested in another girl. You have to tell me your child's good points because frankly, I don't see any."
She was stupid and rude, Boss was fun and the child of a Celebi! If only she was allowed to say that, but Celebi made it very clear not to mention it to others unless they joined them permanently. Something about chosen children and Mew being annoying.
"Why you talk like that? Where storm of insults and rage?" Mankey hollered from one of the nearby piles she totally wasn't planning on going to, she swears it didn't look interesting and had nothing to do with the other Pokemon picking his nose.
Ha, the Smoochum looked offended. "I am a refined and Gentle Pokemon, not a barbarian like you."
"You called me," Nomia's eyes flicked towards the irritating Pink Devil, "A Fucking Stuck-Up Fairy when I was kicking your ass." The Pokemon froze, ha, "And you cussed a storm whenever my hits landed."
"I don't have a clue what you're talking about." The irritated look on her face was priceless, and the hollering of the Mankey was the best part.
The Smoochum huffed and leaned against a large pile of seaweed attached to the ship's bow. Nomia stretched as she glanced at her Boss…but seemed tense. Why?
She was also ignoring the Pink Devil's Owner, and her eyes seemed unnaturally focused.
She looked around and couldn't see anything, not even the 'Swalot' that was supposed to be around here… she frowned before following her Boss's eyes. And then hurled a chunk of nearby metal with all the might she could handle at the Smoochum.
"Watch what you're doing!" She shrieked as she jumped out of the way of her metal chunk, the seaweed whipped and cracked with a faint silver tinge snapping the chunk in half. "Oh."
Author's Note: Uh… wasn't planning for this chapter to be this long tbh. It just kind of happened? Anyway, hope you like it!
Also early chapter cause I'll probably be late on Sunday! Have fun!
Fight fight next chapter~
Honestly, had the next chapter's fight planned for a long time, since I decided Hakuno's first Pokemon would be a Tinkatink tbh.
Anyways~ Seaweed, at a scrapyard in a town leaving broken boats in after being attacked by a Rage of Water Onixes? Hmmm, wonder what Pokemon it could beeeeee.
Cya Next time!
