A/N: Hi! I just wanted to say that I've been rather busy lately, what with my senior year at school and whatnot. As of this time, (9/9/24), I've had this idea awhile back recently and I just wanted to see how this could go as I've recently been playing the Touhou Project games.

Specifically, the EMoSD (TH6), PCB (TH7), a little bit of IaMP (TH7.5), quite a bit of IN (TH8), a couple times in PoFV (TH9), and MoF (TH10). Hell, I've managed to play all five of the PC-98 games and was able to beat both the Hell and Makai Route, although I did use continues and got the second bad ending.

I've had a blast playing them so far, even if I get killed many times. Perhaps, it's just that I get this feeling of wanting to try again and as I kept playing while listening to the music, I feel myself slowly improve in playing these games and bullet hell shmups in general, I think. Is this how you guys feel when playing these games?

Anyway, while I was playing these games, I thought about the Fairies and got a little curious about. So, I looked up the Touhou wiki to learn more about them and got a bit fascinated by them. I've also noticed the lack of male Fairy characters as it got me thinking of this idea which eventually lead to me creating this story.

I'll try to keep this as close to canon as I could, so I'll try to keep the characters, world, and lore as accurately to the source material to the best of my ability. Although, I can't promise that it'll be the best but I'll try nonetheless.

Hope you enjoy!

The Gamer ability

[Skills, Items, Etc]

Prologue: Reborn In The Land of Illusions

...

I'm suddenly woken up by a headache, forcibly opening my eyes. As my mind begins to gain clarity, I slowly become aware of the unfamiliar surroundings. I quickly stand up, shock and confusion rising, slowly leading into fear until—

[Gamer's Mind] has been activated!

-Suddenly, my mind began calming down as the earlier fear and panic slowly dissipated, allowing me to think more clearly and properly take in my current situation.

Looking around, I found myself in what appeared to be a random forest. Many trees and various flora came into view, surrounding me, as well as a lot of mushrooms growing around me, with little to no sunlight in the area and the grassy ground I was currently sitting on. Really, the place I woke up in was kind of dark, and with little sunshine filtering in, it seemed pretty damp too.

But as I kept checking my surroundings, I noticed everything seemed bigger, I think. Confused, I looked down, and I was immediately drawn to my hands, which appeared much smaller than usual, and it wasn't just that. I immediately stood up and realized my whole body and appearance had drastically changed before my eyes.

My body appeared much smaller, more akin to that of a young child. My once slightly tanned skin was now a much fairer and lighter tone, almost white even. I couldn't see my face, but I assumed it was different too.

As for my clothes, they were completely different as well. They mainly consisted of a pair of dark blue shorts and a white collared short-sleeve shirt, along with a dark blue vest, complete with a red necktie and a pair of small black shoes that fit nicely. Honestly, it vaguely reminded me of one of those British schoolboy uniforms as well as my own uniform.

"What...?" I muttered. My voice was much lighter and softer, sounding young and bright, I think. Honestly, if I were to try and describe it, I'd say my voice could be considered pretty cute, much to my further shock and dismay.

"The hell is going on?!" I asked myself, but I received no answers to my query. I sat back down on the forest ground, my legs crossed, wondering about the situation I found myself in as I tried to figure it out.

I recall coming back from school, feeling exhausted and wanting to rest before falling asleep later on. Afterwards, it felt like the whole world disappeared and began plummeting into an endless dark void, yet I felt no fear for some reason. A flash of light came, and I lost consciousness again. Now, I woke up to find myself in this forest, changed into some child.

"Where even am I...?"

Before I could further ponder my own thoughts, I was suddenly greeted by a blue screen appearing right in front of me. It made me jump back in pure shock and fright; however, I quickly recovered and composed myself as I carefully took a closer look and saw the text displayed on it as I began reading its contents.

Welcome [Gamer]!

In case you're wondering and/or confused of your current situation, rest assured as all will be explained. As

Simply put, you have been granted [The Gamer] ability by [?] and have successfully reincarnated into another world as [The Gamer].

[The Gamer] ability has granted you the [Gamer System, allowing you to grow and interact with the world like a video game akin to that of a video game character.

As for why you've been given this opportunity. You were selected due to your dissatisfaction of your previous life and your various desires.

Whatever path, choices, and experiences you make will solely be up to you. Now, enjoy your new life, Gamer!

Upon reading all that, I'm left with my own thoughts again, pondering in the knowledge I've just learned. Mainly, [The Gamer] to which I've apparently been granted of by some mysterious entity and that I reincarnated into another world, no less.

But, hold on. That that doesn't explain why I'm a kid nor where the fuck I even am!

Just as I thought that, another screen appears and catching me by surprise as I quickly began reading it. As I did, my face slowly grew pale as I read what it said, wondering if this was cruel joke...

User has been transported into the Land of Illusions, Gensokyo, in the [Touhou Project] universe and has been reincarnated as a [Fairy (Touhou Project)] within the Forest of Magic as your starting point.

'No... NoNoNoNo-NO!' I thought, not wanting to believe it. However, I slowly tried turning my head to look behind me, only for my eyes to widen in rising dread as I saw what appeared to be two pairs of small, silver-glowing wings made of clouds over my back.

"C-could I get a full view of myself?" A moment later, a screen appears as it shows a back 3rd person view of my body before switching to the front view of myself as the image of a small young boy with silver hair and blue eyes stare right back, his shocked and horrified expression mimicking my own as I held a hand to my face. The screen vanishes as I'm left to my own thoughts once more.

Was this a cruel joke? Or was this punishment for something I did back in my previous life? Well, whatever it was, I knew one thing for sure and it's that I'm pretty screwed.

As any fan would know, the fairies within Touhou are probably one of the most commonly known enemies, usually being the first enemies you'll face in the main games. They have appeared since the sixth game, Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, and onward, becoming one of many iconic staples in the series.

Lore-wise, they're possibly one of the most commonly known races within Gensokyo, inhabiting most of the places here.

However, fairies here are also known for being one of the weakest races and are more or less fodder—small fries for most of the cast. Of course, there are known fairy characters such as Cirno, Clownpiece, and Daiyousei. But even then, they aren't really the strongest, except for Clownpiece, although I know very little about her.

Probably the only reason I'm not panicking like crazy right now is [Gamer's Mind], but that does little to alleviate my worries. All I can do now is try to figure out my current situation and plan my next course of action in order to survive this place.

I looked up to find my three tags hovering right above my head, displaying what I believed to be my current [Level], [Title], and [Name], as well as the tag saying, "The Gamer," above them too.

-The Gamer-

[Male Fairy of Weather]

Lvl 1. "Unnamed"

Initially, I was pretty caught by surprise upon seeing my name, or rather the lack of one, as it just simply read 'Unnamed'. Another thing I immediately took notice of was my [Title: [Male Fairy of Weather]. I had a suspicious feeling about it, but I'd learn soon enough once I get to it. By the way, do I get anything like a tutorial or something?

Just as I thought of that, a new screen appears right in front of my face and making me jump back. Recovering quickly, I felt annoyed but I held back as began reading it. It was a [Quest], a [Tutorial] at that, as I carefully read it's content.

[Quest Alert!]

[Quest: [Tutorial: How To Play!]

Description: You have been isekai'd into the realm of Gensokyo within the universe of [Touhou Project] and reincarnated as a fairy, bestowed with the powerful ability known as [The Gamer] by [?]. [Accept (Y)/Decline (N)]?

Seeing no reason not to, I accept the [Quest/Tutorial]. As I did, a familiar jovial tune, as if being played by an unseen player, began playing in the background as I recognize the music...

~[Playing BGM: [Funiculi Holiday] - [Pizza Tower]~

Let's start the [Tutorial]!

Say or think 'Status' to bring up your [Status] window.

"Status", I quietly spoke and immediately, a screen appears in front of me, displaying my current [Status] as I took the time to view it all.

Well it's not too bad, honestly. For one, both my HP, SP, and MP are pretty high with the former two were at a maximum of 300 HP and SP while the latter stood at a maximum MP of 572. Then again, Fairies are typically more or less stronger than the average human. Also, I was basically born today, technically speaking, if my current age of 0 wasn't obvious enough.

Anyway, other than that, I looked at the rest of my stats while another screen appears right beside my [Status], displaying a list which detailed info regarding each of my Base and Secondary Stats. Of course, I began reading the second screen's content along with checking my overall stats.

As I read through the descriptions on each of my stats, I took note of them. Other than that, my Base Stats looked pretty low but fine. Well, at least to me, anyway.

Stats can be increased by performing special actions, training, completing [Quests] or by using Stat Points gained when Leveling Up (5 Stat Points per Level Up).

I expected as such, considering the nature of [The Gamer]. Being able to naturally increase my own stats alone through my own actions is a given. Much like the majority of [The Gamer] fanfics as well as the original Manhwa I've read long ago, sadly I'll probably won't have the chance to read it again nor will I be able to anytime soon.

Admittedly, I was still relatively new to the series, having just started playing the games and reading up some of the lore prior. Other than that, I haven't played much of any other games recently these days, but I can't simply hold me back. Plus, the system was at least kind enough to give ten whole Stat Points right off the bat, points that I'm free to spend on any one of my Base Stats.

However, I held off from spending my Stat Points for now, dismissing my [Status] away along with the other screen as my first [Tutorial/Quest] continues.

Now that you've viewed your [Status, let's move on to accessing your [Skills]. Please say or think 'Skills'.

Damn... That's a lot of [Skills]. Okay, let's try to take in all this slowly. So, right off the bat, you got the usual [Gamer's Body] and [Gamer's Mind], as expected of having [The Gamer]. Surprisingly, I already get [Observe] too which will no doubt be very useful during my stay here.

Knowledge and information is one of my big priorities right now and if I'm planning on staying here, then I'll need as much useful info I could get and this [Skill] is definitely a blessing.

The same for the [Linguist] skill too. Already having some basic Japanese along with my decent English and native language, this will be very useful for when l start learning new languages and for communicating with other people of different culture and languages.

As for the rest of my [Skills], they were no doubt gained from my current race as a Fairy. [Mana Manipulation] was a given, considering fairies are beings of Magic. The other magic [Skills] definitely came from my unique nature as a Weather Fairy which more or less have some relation to weather.

I could see the high potential for [Cloud Magic], if what I've seen from anime and shows have taught me. Should I be able to, I could use this to create any kind of clouds and control them and other nearby clouds to aid myself in and out of fighting.

Imagine it, being able to create, let's say, rain clouds and snow clouds or better yet hail clouds to support myself against my opponents. With rain or snow clouds, I could somehow slow them down with heavy rain or snow and possibly gain a small advantage. I can also use rain clouds to help in farming, aid during possible droughts, and such.

If not, I could perhaps use hail clouds, unleashing hail storms, constantly pelting them with hail to hinder them.

However, that's only if I'm skilled and strong enough to even do it. Sadly, I'm far too weak to do that with my current level of power. I would need to train and get strong enough to reach that level of strength. I can even create some thunder clouds, maybe a group of them, to shoot bolts of lightning too.

I could also use this Magic to form some cloud constructs and could make them solid enough to create items and weapons to aid me as well as create structures like walls and such, gaining some terrain advantage once I'm skilled enough to do so.

[Thermal Manipulation Magic] is also a potentially powerful skill as it's essentially cold and heat manipulation combined into one. I could only imagine how truly deadly this ability can become once I figure out how to properly use it.

Being able to manipulate temperature, such as the air around me, to either extremely low or high temperatures while remaining unaffected myself, and potentially manipulating the body temperature of others, if given enough mastery over it, such as lowering a human's body temperature and removing all their necessary heat, freezing them to death, or simply applying more heat, possibly causing them to combust into flames and burn them to death. This already makes this ability sound powerful and somewhat versatile, even terrifying, but I can also see this being used for other things.

I could use this to warm myself or others in colder areas, apply certain temperatures on objects and things, and much more. Plus, I could use this in conjunction with my other abilities as well.

As for my elemental based Magic, I can already see the great potential in each of them. They're pretty self-explanatory, but that doesn't make them any less powerful once I reach that point in mastering these [Skills] in time. I could possibly use these abilities together with my other [Skills] and give myself greater advantages in battle or whatever purpose outside of that.

Really, with these current abilities right now, I felt my worries and fears being somewhat lessen a little, but not by much, honestly. The issue being, I'm far too weak and inexperienced right now, and I know that deep down. I've have little to no experience in actual combat.

However, that doesn't mean I'll give up. I would-No! need to train and gain experience for myself, and learn to survive in this place with nothing but my system and my own abilities...

Anyway, the tutorial continues as I pay close attention.

Now that you've seen your Skills, it's time to see your [Inventory]. Within your Inventory, you can also equip weapons, armor, and clothing to yourself. This will be shown on the left side of your screen. To open it, say or think 'Inventory'.

"Inventory," I said and as I expected, my [Inventory] soon appears before me.

Similar to the Manhwa, the screen mainly consisted of various boxes on the right, which seemed endless, while the left side shows a full-body picture of my current appearance. It also displayed the clothes I'm currently wearing or, in this case, 'Equipped,' as icons representing my clothing are placed in several boxes as well.

Speaking of, I still look like a schoolboy as I then looked the description on my clothes, slightly surprised of what I've seen.

[Armour: [Fairy Clothing - Dark Blue Shorts] - DEF: 1/DUR: 25/25

Description: A magical pair of small short, dark blue pants similar to British schoolboy uniforms.

-Automatically reshapes and resizes to fit user.

-Automatically cleans itself per hour.

-Passively regenerates DUR by 1 per minute.

[Armour: [Fairy Clothing - Dark Blue Vest] - DEF: 1/DUR: 25/25

Description: A magically dark blue vest similar to ones seen in British schoolboy uniforms.

-Automatically reshapes and resizes to fit user.

-Automatically cleans itself per hour.

-Passively regenerates DUR by 1 per minute.

[Accessory: [Fairy Clothing - Lil' Red Necktie] - DEF: 1/DUR: 25/25

Description: A magically small red necktie.

-Automatically reshapes and resizes to fit user.

-Automatically cleans itself per hour.

-Passively regenerates DUR by 1 per minute.

[Accessory: [Fairy Clothing - Lil' Black Shoes] - DEF: 1/DUR: 25/25

Description: A magical pair of little black shoes.

-Automatically reshapes and resizes to fit user.

-Automatically cleans itself per hour.

-Passively regenerates DUR by 1 per minute.

I was pleasantly surprised by this as this actually saves me the trouble of cleaning the only clothes I have on me. Anyway, back to the Tutorial.

Now that you've seen your [Inventory, it's time to see your [Race/Racial Bonuses]. This will allow you to view information on your current Race and the Racial Bonuses that come with them. Simply say or think either 'Race' or 'Racial Bonuses'.

"Race"

[E] - Race: [Fairy (Touhou) - Weather Fairy] - Fairies are an immortal humanoid race of small, often adorable beings of magic and nature, typically resembling young female children or young female teens/adults. Fairies inhabit many areas within and outside the realm of Gensokyo and usually represent an aspect of nature. Often simple-minded creatures, fairies possess magical abilities that represent various forms or aspects of nature. They often play pranks on humans and other races and are generally considered weak.

Subspecies: [Weather Fairy]

Weather Fairies are a subspecies of fairies that possess a natural affinity for weather, capable of manipulating various magical abilities related to weather phenomena.

Weather Fairy Racial Bonus:

-Passively increase DEX, INT, WIS, and CHA by 25%

-Passively increase effect, damage, duration of Magic-based [Skills] by 50%

Gain [Trait: [Fairy Wings, [Immortality, [Nature's Connection, [Shrinking Form]

Gain [Skill: [Mana Manipulation, [Cloud Magic, [Thermal Manipulation Magic, [Wind Magic, [Lightning Magic, [Water Magic, [Ice Magic]

Gain [Affinity: [Wind, [Lightning, [Water, [Ice]

Alright. This seems straight forward as far as I could see. Although, I'm kind of surprised by the multiple [Affinities] here. But thinking about it, it would sort of make sense as each seem to be related to weather in some way. As for the [Traits], now that is where I was caught off guard by most of them but not by too much, really. Luckily, I'll know soon enough.

Now that you've seen your Race/Racial Bonuses, you can now view your [Traits]. This will allow you to view information on your current Traits. Please say or think 'Trait'.

'Trait' This time, I thought of it as it soon appeared before me.

Traits:

[Fairy Wings] (Passive)

Description: You possess cloud-like, silver-glowing wings on your back, which you can retract and summon forth at will, granting you the ability to fly.

-Allows the user to fly at DEX x 4 mph.

[Immortality] (Passive)

Description: As a fairy, you will continue to exist only as long as the nature of the weather is preserved, and should you perish, you will automatically be resurrected after a certain amount of time. Fairies also require no food to survive.

-Upon death or HP reaching 0, user will merely be placed out of commission and be resurrected/respawned after 24 hours have passed.

-Any [Items, [Weapons, [Armour, [Accessories] equipped will be dropped upon death. Everything stored within user's [Inventory] is left unaffected.

-Half of all your currencies will be dropped upon death or when HP reaches 0.

[Nature's Connection] (Passive)

Description: As a fairy sprung from the nature of weather, you share a connection to weather phenomena and may be affected by the current state of any weather around you.

[Shrinking Form] (Passive)

Description: Fairies have the natural ability to shrink their bodies into much smaller or tiny forms, usually to hide themselves from view.

I already expected the wings, but the other three are what caught my interest the most, especially [Immortality]. And, upon reading its description and effects gave me much relief at least.

Lore-wise, Fairies here are more or less immortal and I'm no exception to this, but the drawback being that I'll lose and drop whatever equipment and things I had out in my person once I perish, forcing me to wait a while day to respawn. It actually reminds me of [Minecraft] in a way.

Thankfully, it doesn't affect the stuff would already be inside my [Inventory]. Otherwise, I'd really be frustrated knowing my dropped items could potentially be picked up by someone else should they come across it.

As for the other two, [Nature's Connection] seems rather vague but is still worth noting, just in case. [Shrinking Form], on the other hand, definitely sounds simple yet potentially very useful in my eyes. I guess it does make some sense as to how a majority of Fairies come or pop out and appear in both the games and the world, gameplay-wise and lore-wise, respectively.

However, it does leave me with a couple of questions. For one, does shrinking my own body affect my more physical-based stats? Does it affect my Magic too? Well, I won't know until I try later, really. Anyway, moving on with the Tutorial...

Now that you've seen your [Traits, it's time to view your [Affinity]. This will show you a list and info of your current [Affinities] which make you attuned to certain element or aspect. To open it, say or think 'Affinity'.

"Affinity"

Affinity:

[Wind Affinity] - [1/100] (0/50)

Description: You possess a natural affinity towards the element of the winds, granting you the ability of easier control over wind and air.

-Passively decrease damage taken from Wind by 5%

Wow. That's quite a lot... Okay, looking at each of them, they seem pretty good so far. Increasing each of my [Affinities] won't be easy, but I'm determined to, regardless. Otherwise, I have nothing else to say.

You've seen your [Affinity, now it's time to view your one and only [Title]! Please say or think 'Titles' to view your [Titles].

"Titles" I said as lo and behold, the [Titles] menu appears as I took in the info regarding my only [Title]. As I read through it, I saw the bonuses that came with the it, making my eyes widen in shock.

Titles:

[E] - [Male Fairy of Weather]

Description: You are possibly the only known male Fairy in Gensokyo as well as being the Fairy representing the natural aspect of weather phenomena, making you a rather unique and special specimen of your kind.

-Increase CHA by 25%

-Increase Affection and Reputation with Fairies by 50%

-Increase Affection and Reputation with other races by 25%

-Increase effect, damage, and duration of [Skills] related to weather by 25%

Welp. That explains the other 25% boost to my CHA. But why do I have a 50% increase Reputation and Affectiom with all Fairies? And, why do I also have 25% boost with other races too? Not that I'm complaining, really. It just seemed odd to me...

Screw it. I'm think about at a later date. For now, I got a Tutorial to finish.

You're almost there! All that's left is to view your [Quests] menu to finish the [Tutorial] and you're done. But before that, there's one last thing to do and that's your [Name]!

Upon reading that, I'm greeted to another screen. This time displaying a text bar and keyboard controls with the instructions right above.

Please say or input your [Name] here: ].

Thinking about it, I thought about what name to give myself now that I've been reborn into this strange new world. Seeing as I'm in a Japanese culture reminiscent of feudal era Japan, I decided on going with one name.

You've inputed the [Name: [Hiroshi Kokoro]. Do you truly wish to use this? Y/N

Without hesitation, I pressed 'Y' as I looked up at my tags and saw my new [Name] being displayed as I had a small smile on my face.

-The Gamer-

[Male Fairy of Weather]

Lvl 1. Hiroshi Kokoro

As for the name itself, Hiroshi Kokoro or rather Kokoro Hiroshi, was really something I've somewhat came up with.

Recalling back, my given name, Hiroshi may mean something along the lines of 'Generous ', 'Tolerant', or 'Prosperous' while my own surname, Kokoro, means means 'Soul'. Combining the two together leaves my name's meaning as either 'Generous Soul' or 'Prosperous Soul'.

And with that, the only thing left is to end this [Tutorial].

Now that you've inputed your [Name, it's time to finish this [Tutorial] by accessing your [Quests]. [Quests] accepted are displayed in this [Menu] and will allow you to keep track of your progress with them. You know the drill, say or think 'Quests'.

"Quests"

Upon uttering the command, the [Quests] screen appeared and had only a single [Quest] displayed, showing the '[Tutorial: How To Play!]' at the upper top with a '(Complete)' appearing right beside it. The [Quest] has been complete.

You've unlocked [BGM]! Now, you can play any track you've listened or gained.

Gained [Track: [Funiculi Holiday] - [Pizza Tower]!

You have leveled up! 4x

You have gained 20 Stat Points!

Sweet! Seeing myself leveling up four times, I excitedly bring up my [Inventory] and took all my [Skill Books] out and a single [Gacha Token] in hand as held it firmly.

As for the token itself, it was a small blue coin with the word, 'GACHA', fully capital and written in white color. It honestly looked like one of those fake plastic coins alongside fake dollars yet I could feel the tough, solid surface of it. Whatever it's made of, I don't really care as I decide to use [Observe] for the first time on it.

[System Item: [Gacha Token]

Description: A special coin made from [The Gamer] system. Using it allows the user to spin the Gacha System to gain many rewards, ranging from mundane tools and items to powerful [Armour], rare [Skill Books], ancient artifacts, and more. Won't you take a spin? Try your luck!

-One-use item, will disappear once used.

-Will summon random [Item(s), [Weapon(s), [Armour, [Accessory, etc.

-Rolls are affected by LUK.

I already had a small general idea of Gacha, so I knew what to expect from this. The [System Item] in front of it's name did intrigued me a little. Actually...

"Hey, uh... [System]? The heck's this [System Item] right here?" I asked, hoping it would answer my question. A moment later, I get said answer via a small screen of text, visible only to myself, of course.

[System Item(s)] refer to items created directly from the system of [The Gamer] ability. [Gacha Token(s)] are a part of the system's Gacha feature; therefore, they are considered as such, User: [Hiroshi Kokoro].

"I see... Thanks, I guess." I said, dismissing the message away. I then looked back at the pen in palm, wondering how to use until another message appears once more.

Simply say or think the amount of rolls you wish to make, and then 'Roll Gacha' to activate your roll(s), each roll costing one [Gacha Token].

Thanking the system again, I turned around to see if anyone was looking. There were none, thankfully. I then held the coin-like item within my hand firmly as I began testing it.

"[1, Roll Gacha]" Upon saying that, I watched in awe as the token started to glow brightly before disappearing completely.

[Gacha Token] has been used! Rolling Gacha now.

Rewards:

You've gained [Sword: [Wooden Short Sword]!

Suddenly, a short wooden sword appeared, dropping onto the grass-filled ground. I picked the sword up, taking a closer look at its appearance. It was a rather simple yet well-crafted wooden blade. It was about the same length as a small child's whole arm, its blade and handle simple in design, and the brown wooden texture felt pretty okay in my hands. It honestly felt surreal, at least to me, holding an actual wooden sword, but it didn't bother me as I used [Observe] on it.

[Sword: [Wooden Short Sword] - ATK: 6/DUR: 15/15

Description: A simple, well crafted short sword made from wood and used more for beginners to practice rather than actual combat.

Pretty decent weapon. This should help me for a while before inevitably breaking, I suppose. I then held it firmly, giving it a few swings, trying to get a feel for it within my small, child-like hands.

After a bit, I sat back down on the ground, pondering as I thought of what to do next. I frankly knew little of this world and it's inhabitants, other than what I knew and experienced prior to coming here.

I know I'm weak, but to what extent? I don't know and it bothers me quite a bit. I'm nervous, anxious even. And yet, I've been given this new opportunity straight out of nowhere with little to no warning. I want survive, but deep down I'm afraid inside.

[Gamer's Mind], I'm thankful for, but does little to ease my worries. However, that doesn't mean I'll die easily as I got [The Gamer] on my side to help me grow, so it isn't too much of an issue to survive.

Speaking of surviving. I'd first need to be able to defend myself first, then gather knowledge knowledge later on my current situation.

With that in mind, I turned my attention to the four [Skill Books] laid out before me on the forest ground. I pick up the one for [Danmaku] and used [Observe]. They seemed a bit bigger to me in my now, much smaller and young-looking body.

[Skill Book: [Danmaku (Touhou Project)]

Description: A [Skill Book] containing knowledge on the supernatural martial art [Danmaku] in the [Touhou Project].

-Gain [Skill: [Danmaku (Touhou Project)].

-Disappears upon usage

The book itself appeared to be red with a Ying Yang symbol on the front cover. Under the symbol was a line of text written in Japanese which simply read: 'Danmaku'.

Would you wish to learn from [Skill Book: [Danmaku (Touhou Project)]? Y/N

I immediately pressed 'Y' as the book began glowing bright in my hands, bursting into motes of light before absorbing themselves into my body. I could feel the knowledge being transferred directly into my mind and being as it felt strangely abrupt yet pleasant to me.

As I gained my new [Skills] I felt the sudden boost to my stats and quickly bring up my [Status]. They were pretty big in my opinion. However, I decided to take 15 Stat Points and distributed ten points into WIS and five into INT, expanding my MP pool to much greater heights and it showed as I grinned upon seeing the results.

Currency: (Mon) - 5,000

Also, one thing I wanted know is my currency as I don't exactly know how much a Mon is worth. Fortunately for me, I wouldn't need to wait long.

Mons were an old currency used in Japan before being replaced by Yen. However, it is still used by the inhabitants in Gensokyo as it's main currency.

A Mon of 0.1 is equivalent to 2.06 Yen, one Mon is 20.63 Yen, two is 41.26 Yen, and 5 Mon is 103.14 Yen, and so on.

Coins denominated in mon were cast in copper or iron and circulated alongside silver and gold ingots denominated in shu, bu and ryō, with 4000 mon = 16 shu = 4 bu = 1 ryō.

"Huh. That's good to know." I said to myself, making sure to take note of this info as I dismissed the screens away.

Right. Time to learn to survive here, starting with my body first. I raise my right palm up, my hand slowly glowing as I begin using my newly acquired [ID Manipulation].

"[ID Create - Empty]!" I uttered, feeling the mana through my hand glowing brighter as the surrounding area began shimmering. Suddenly, for a moment, I felt weightless in my small body. It felt as if I was being was moved from one place to another.

However, the feeling quickly faded just as it happened. I looked around and found the scenery still looking the same, but noticed the lack of sound. It honestly creeped me out a little. Seeing the I was alone, I began my first task of getting used to my new existence as Fairy.

I decided begining by first getting used to my natural [Traits] associated with my species, my [Fairy Wings]. I turned to my back to see the small silver glowing wings made of clouds over my back, fluttering slightly. They honestly looked pretty cool, I suppose.

I tried retracting the wings and watched as they slowly began pulling back, or rather them dispersed and absorbed into my back, as my eyes widened in awe and fascination. I then tried retracted them back out, my cloud-like wings forming once more. I tried moving them and watched them flutter a bit more, the sensation felt a little strange but I'll get used to it later on.

I then tried to use them, attempting to fly as I suddenly felt myself, my small body began to lift off from the forest ground within the empty ID. Again, it felt strange yet natural to me as my [Fairy Wings] rapidly fluttered and my body being lifted up in the air, seemingly floating in the air.

I tried moving about in the air, almost clumsily fall onto the ground before quickly stopping myself. I then tried moving slowly this time, taking baby steps as I start getting the hang of flying in the air. The feeling of flying, it felt so strange yet wonderful in a way I can't quite put to words properly, I believe. At first, I thought it would be hard. But then, I started getting better quickly as it felt like second nature to me. Could this be due to myself being a Fairy?

Whatever it may be, it didn't matter all too much as I found myself having fun. A big smile on my cute little face as continued flying and having a little fun for a while before softly landing back down, my little feet touching the ground once more as I retracted my wings into my back again.

That just leaves me to try and practice my [Shrinking Form] ability. With my eyes closed, I tried focusing on making myself become smaller and by a few moments later, I felt something happen.

Opening my eyes, I saw the whole world around me started to slowly become bigger all of a sudden. I then looked down on myself and watched in surprised awe as I witnessed myself shrinking, becoming smaller and smaller until my whole form became the size of an enitire baseball.

Looking around, the blades of grass that were once beneath my feet were now bigger before me, as well as the other surrounding flora, fungi, and random foliage within this mirrored, empty version of the Forest of Magic.

The trees now appeared more like incredibly huge wooden columns that reached high above the heavens as I looked up from down here. I then brought my wings out and began flying around the place, exploring and soaring about. It kind of reminded me of the giant world from Super Mario Bros. 3, with everything appearing much bigger in comparison to you. However, this felt much more real to see it all actually happen, if that makes sense, I guess.

Anyway, after flying for a bit, I landed back on the ground and tried unshrinking myself, watching as my body grew back to its original size. I then tried flying mid-air and shrinking myself to see if it worked. It did, as I shrank mid-air and then grew back while still flying for a moment. This would be useful in the future.

Now that that's done with, I should probably start learning use my Magic. I did so by first starting off with [Mana Manipulation].

I began trying to get a feel for the mana in my body, my entire being born from magic and Mother Nature itself, as I attempted to draw the magical energy within me. I could feel it, sort of like a separate bodily system of energy flowing throughout my small body as I tried to draw it out through my palm, my hand beginning to glow.

I then looked ahead and held my glowing palm forward, a small Magic circle formed as aimed at one of the trees. I focused, the mana in my hand forming into a single small sphere as I tried to maintain its solid form before launching it forward. I watched as it hit the bark of the tree, flung like a thrown baseball, leaving a small, ball-sized dent on the wooden surface as it dispersed into thin air.

You've created new [Spell: [Mana Shot]!

-[Mana Shot] (Active) Cost: 3MP - Basic offensive application of [Mana Manipulation]. User fires small spheres made of Mana through their palm(s) to attack their target(s) from a distance. These spheres can be rapidly fired, as long as the user has enough Mana to spare. They deal magical damage equal to 50% of INT x Skill Level and require 3 MP per shot.

Seeing this, I tried again as I fired another, but ended up missing this time. I didn't stop as I began practicing on using my first form of projectile and doing my best to aim and shoot using my newly gained [Mana Shot], managing to hit that same tree five out of nine shots.

Still determined, I continued doing target practice at the tree and kept firing with more shots before it eventually fell down with a thud from all the damage it sustained as a notification appears.

[Mana Manipulation] has Leveled up twice! 1 =} 3

I could only smiles upon seeing this as it only serves to fuel my resolve to improve further, and so, I did just that and continued to level up my [Skills] as much as I possibly could to survive.

???

Elsewhere, within the Land of Illusions, she felt it...

For just a moment, she felt something forcibly enter through the barrier, unnoticeable to most, but certainly not to all such as herself...

Whoever or what it may be, she would need to figure it out soon enough. To ensure that any threat towards Gensokyo has been dealt with before it comes, she'll make sure of it...

Of course, that doesn't she couldn't have some fun for herself, finding a little of her interest piqued by this. Plus, there's also the young shrine maiden and a certain magician on hand as well.

"After all, she'll know soon enough. One way or another. Fufufu~"

To be continued

[Ending Song: [Roundabout] - [JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012)]

A/N: I hope you all enjoyed this one. I just wanted to experiment and see what I could do with this idea. If you guys have any questions, feel free to leave them in your reviews.

I wanted to say sorry again for not hearing much of me lately. Mainly schoolwork and stuff going on with my family. As of this posting, I literally have some exams tomorrow, so it'll be pretty tricky for me.

Anyway, thank you for those who decided to still stick around and wait for me here. I really appreciate it and I'll say it for some of you here that I mainly upload my documents (.docx files) from my phone and it's usually a hassle for me.

See you all next time!
