[Opening Song: [Snow Fairy] - [Fairy Tail]
Chapter 1: Fresh Start, The First Steps To Strength!
I could only smile to myself as I felt proud, fueling my resolve to improve upon managing to level up my [Mana Manipulation] to Level 3. I felt excited as decided to spend the rest of my time here in the [Empty ID].
I kept practicing my [Mana Manipulation] by doing target with my spell [Mana Shot], using the surrounding trees as targets.
I gave it my best, carefully trying to aim and shoot with one hand at first as I repeatedly attempt to hit any trees as I could on land, firing [Mana Shots] to hit as many trees. I did this for a while, about an hour or two, before stopping to take a break from it. In the end, I some of my shots manage to hit a few trees, a majority of which missing their marks and even managed to topple a couple of the trees down.
Feeling satisfied, I wipe a bit of my sweat off my forehead as I laid down on the forest ground with a little smile on my cute face. I could feel the soft blades of the grass touching the back of my clothes and body as I allowed myself to relax a bit. And, soon enough, I get a couple messages in front of my face.
[Mana Manipulation] has Leveled Up twice! 3 =} 5
[Danmaku (Touhou Project)] has Leveled Up twice! 1 =} 3
I couldn't lie, it was actually a lot harder to aim and shoot than I thought. I then checked my [Skills] and took notice of something in [Mana Manipulation], one that wasn't there before.
[Mana Manipulation] (Passive) Level: 5 - EXP: 8%
Description: Allows the user to freely manipulate Mana which is the energy within most living beings.
-Grants the ability to use or cast Magic.
-Passively increases INT by 10%
-Passively increases Mana Pool (MP) by 10%
-Passively increases WIS by 5%
Spells:
-[Mana Shot] (Active) Cost: 3MP - Basic offensive application of [Mana Manipulation]. User fires small spheres made of Mana through their palm(s) to attack their target(s) from a distance. These spheres can be rapidly fired, as long as the user has enough Mana to spare. They deal magical damage equal to 50% of INT x Skill Level and require 3 MP per shot.
Looking closely, I noticed the additional 5% boost to my WIS which wasn't there at all. Likely due to the [Skill] reaching Level 5 and I'm not complaining about it. Not one bit.
This time, I decided to mix things up a bit and attempted to aim and shoot while airborne, utilizing my [Fairy Wings] to best of my ability as I tried going slow and easy first.
When I first attempted it, it went about as good as a kid learning how to bike without training wheels. In other words, it was quite hard for me at first, especially since I had to keep myself in air while focusing on firing at the trees as best I could. I've only managed to get one hit on a tree, but I expected it. And so, I kept trying again until I got used to it which took much longer for me compared to firing on land.
About four to five hours later, I lowered myself back to the ground, my wings fluttering slowly, as I allowed myself to fall on my hands and knees the moment I landed on the ground, feeling pretty much exhausted but felt worth it.
[Mana Manipulation] has Leveled Up x14! 5 =} 19
[Danmaku (Touhou Project)] has Leveled Up x19! 3 =} 22
I've managed to gain a bunch of Level Ups for both those two [Skills] and I could feel my MP Regen. increased, not that I'm worried too much considering my rather big mana pool. I haven't really lost much MP currently as I could now recover 54 MP for every minute that passes even during combat.
Doing so had also given me a bit of experience with handling magic, although, they've seem to have slowed down which wasnt surprising.
As I then sat down, clutching my knees in front, I thought about how much time has passed since my arrival. Speaking of, what even is the time and date right now?
It is currently 2:31 PM. As for the current date is July 1st, 2003 (2003/7/1) in the Outside World and is the 118th Season, 3rd of Minazuki (118/6/3) within Gensokyo. This date also marks as your birthdate, user.
Wow... Okay. So, happy birthday to me, I guess. It's kinda surprising, yet very useful in my eyes. Also, 2003? That's one year before I was born in my previous life. Coincidentally, July is also my birth back then, although, I guess it's June here in Gensokyo.
Anyway, enough of that for now. I pick myself up and stood, wanting to continue practicing my abilities. I decided to go with my elemental-based Magic before moving on to the others, starting with [Wind Magic].
Much like with [Mana Manipulation], I started by first getting a feel for the magic. It felt a little different compared to [Mana Manipulation] as I concentrated on drawing it out, feeling the mana within my hands somehow turning into pure air, with wisps of wind carrying a glowing, light green tint from my palms as I stared in awe and fascination.
Of course, I tried experimenting a bit as I produced small harmless gusts of wind from my palms. I could feel the light breeze touching my face as I accidentally get hit a bit from my palm. As I kept messing around a bit, I get a notification.
[Wind Magic] has Leveled Up! 1 =} 2
Smiling to myself, I kept practicing a bit as a thought came to my mind. I held my open hand back as I focused on the wind within and around my palm, sharpening it. I then set my eyes on a nearby tree that was a fair distance away, aiming in its direction as I kept sharpening the air in my open hand. My concentration was long and hard as small beads of sweat formed and slowly rolled down from my forehead before I swiped my hand forward, unleashing a small but sharp curved blade of pressurized wind towards the tree, hitting the base of the tree and deeply embedding itself as the blade dispersed.
[Wind Magic] has Leveled Up! 2 =} 3
You've created new [Spell: [Air Blade]!
-[Air Blade] (Active) Cost: 6MP - User focuses Wind Magic into their open hand(s) as they swipe their hand(s), firing small curved blades of sharp, pressurized air towards their enemies. They deal sharp magical Wind damage equal to 60% of INT x Skill Level and require 6 MP per air blade.
Wanting to keep going, I started drawing my [Wind Magic] once more. Looking around, I spot another tree as I aimed my right hand, my open palm pulsing with magical air. I then began willing the shape of my magic, forming a rapidly spinning arrow made up of wind.
A moment later, I fired the spinning wind arrow forward and watched it flew at high speed before piercing and punching right through the wood, leaving behind a three inch hole as the spinning arrow flew deeper into the forest.
You've created new [Spell: [Spinning Wind Arrow]!
-[Spinning Wind Arrow] (Active) Cost: 12MP - User forms arrow-shaped constructs made of wind, rapidly spinning them before firing them at high speed. The user can create up to 4 x Skill Level of Spinning Wind Arrows. They deal piercing magical wind damage equal to 150% of INT x Skill Level and require 12 MP per arrow.
Grinning to myself, I conjure fourteen more [Spinning Wind Arrows] and fired them off at several directions with a some managing to hit a few trees while others missed. It actually felt a little more difficult as not only did I have to aim and shoot, I also have to maintain each of their arrow-shaped forms as well as keeping their spinning too.
Anyway, I continued doing target practice on both land and airborne, once again utilizing my wings to fire [Spinning Wind Arrows] alongside [Air Blades] and about hour or two later, I'd earn myself a few Level Ups to my [Skills].
[Wind Magic] has Leveled Up two twice! 3 =} 5
[Danmaku (Touhou Project)] has Leveled Up! 22 =} 23
[Wind Affinity] has reached Level 2!
Of course, I tried creating far bigger and more complex wind-based attacks, but I ended up failing, as I'm likely far too weak and less skilled in [Wind Magic] to do anything beyond basic stuff for the most part. My [Air Blade] and [Spinning Mana Arrow] spells are about as complex as I can manage right now...
It'll be far too early for me to create tornadoes and such. For now, I should stick to what I'm currently capable as it will take a long while for me to get to that level wind manipulation as I am right now.
I sat back down to catch my breath and thought about what to do next. Looking down at my body, I frowned as I checked my physical stats. They were definitely low, and I felt deeply concerned about them. I'm aware that Fairies aren't typically the most physically active races, not just in the [Touhou Project] but also in other fantasy media.
However, that doesn't mean I don't wish to be physically stronger too. And so, I realized right then that I planned to grow in both body and magic to survive... and maybe become the strongest fairy as well.
I would, of course, begin my own physical training tomorrow, as I'm already feeling pretty sore, despite not losing an ounce of stamina, nor having my MP reserves ever drained much, really. So, I decided to use [ID Escape] and left the [Empty ID], returning to the real world of Gensokyo within the Forest of Magic.
I mean, how hard could it possibly be for me? If only I knew...
Upon returning from the ID, I found myself back in the Forest of Magic, and I could tell that the day was nearing its end as the little light filtering through the forest from the setting sun slowly began giving way to the night.
I also realized that I quite literally have no place to stay or sleep out here as frankly, I have no clue where I am. That's a problem.
Luckily for me, I have no need for eating and I don't need to sleep, mainly due to possibly [Gamer's Mind] and [Gamer's Body]. Still, I decided to just rest underneath a tree, my back laying against the strong yet durable wood as I gazed up at the clear night sky.
I could see the stars above; the lack of man-made lights and other modern technology gave way to a beautiful view of the starry night as I felt the calm, cooling breeze within the forest. This was honestly one of the things I could appreciate outside of the usual comforts of a modern household.
Thinking deeper about it, it often reminded me of just how dependent I've been on such technology. My phone? My laptop? Wi-Fi and mobile data? Gone now.
I know some of us have probably already heard it all a lot of times, but honestly, it's making me realize how widely dependent we are on the comforts of technology. So, having all of it suddenly stripped away from me felt both surreal and frightening, as it also led me to another thought.
"I'm on my own now," I said, muttering to myself, as hearing those words felt much heavier than I thought. I'm now alone. No family, no friends (not that I've had a lot of them), no one here I could consult anymore.
For some reason, I felt something in my heart. Something painful, yet I couldn't help but feel naturally resigned. Did I miss my family? Maybe. I'm not fully sure, but deep down, I think I do. Sure, we've fought at times; we may have strayed quite a bit. However, I knew that I at least cared about them, and I think they may have felt the same too...
It also made me wonder how they're doing right now. Are they worried about me? Do they miss me? If so, is my old body still back home? Am I dead there? I find myself feeling more worried as these thoughts slowly become more morbid and concerning, plaguing my mind a bit.
However, I quickly shook my head to dispel the thoughts. I shouldn't be worried about it too much, I think. Still, I can't help but feel a little scared yet curious about such thoughts and questions.
For now, I should get some sleep. Thus, I tried to make myself comfy as I lay down underneath a tree, with moonlight filtering into the forest, giving the scenery a somewhat calm and quiet atmosphere. The only sounds were the singing of crickets and insects, along with the sounds of nature around me as I slowly fell asleep...
Wednesday, July 2, 2003 (118/6/4)
I could feel the first signs of morning rising as sunlight slowly filtered into the Forest of Magic, managing to reach my face.
Once I felt the sunlight glaring down on my face, I was forced to groggily wake up as I slowly opened my eyes. Expecting to wake up within the comforts of my home, I quickly realized my surroundings as I immediately recalled yesterday, reminding me that it wasn't a dream and that I had truly been reincarnated, still a Weather Fairy...
'God, I miss my phone already...'
I got up and did a few stretches to get ready for the day. I raised my hand, activating [ID Manipulation], and was immediately brought into an [Empty ID].
Here, I decided to start off by practicing one of my other magic-based [Skills]: [Lightning Magic]. As if it were second nature, I began drawing my magic out through my hands and felt the mana morphing, simply tapping into my natural [Lightning Affinity] as my hands glowed with electricity.
Thinking of what spell to come up with, I started off by creating another sort of long-range attack, taking a note from [Pokémon]. I concentrated on drawing the electricity into a single point, pulling my index and middle fingers and aiming them towards a tree that was a fair distance away.
I focused on adding more electricity to the tips of my two fingers, slowly building up power before releasing all of it at once as I unleashed a bolt of lightning. I watched in awe, my eyes widening as it struck the base of the tree. A small blast occurred upon impact, destroying much of its wooden base and causing it to fall down with a big 'Thud!' and leaving a blackened, burnt stump as the top caught fire, with the flames slowly burning away the rest of the stump.
You've created new [Spell: [Thunderbolt]!
-[Thunderbolt] (Active) Cost: 35MP - A long-range offensive spell that allows the user to conjure and fire a strong bolt of lightning from their index and middle fingers. It deals lightning damage equal to 200% of INT x Skill Level. Maximum range: (INT x Skill Level) miles. Has a chance of inflicting the [Status Effect: [Paralyzed] (and may be affected by the target's resistance(s)).
That was way harder than I thought at first, as I had to make sure to keep as much of the electric power from prematurely leaking out due to how unpredictable and volatile electricity can be in general. It also took much more of my focus to keep it stable before releasing all of it into a single, general direction towards the tree.
Knowing this, I did the usual and started practicing my newly acquired [Spell] as I proceeded to fire blasts of [Thunderbolt] at the surrounding trees while making sure not to cause any potential fire to the whole forest, even if I'm in an [ID]. Doing so also got me some Level Ups to my [Lightning Magic].
[Lightning Magic] has Leveled Up thrice! 1 =} 4
[Lightning Affinity] has reached Level 2!
Once again, taking a note from the [Pokémon] series, I brought up my [Status] and saw my STR was still low at 7. I distributed 10 of my 15 Stat Points, raising my base STR to 16. The added passive 10% bonus from [Ki Manipulation] should bring it up to 18. As I did this, I could feel the sudden increase in my physical strength.
Next, I walked up to a nearby tree and stood in front of it as I clenched my right hand into a fist, drawing [Lightning Magic] into my hand. I could feel the electric power forming and emitting from my fist as I poured more magical power into it, generating more lightning as it started coating my hand with intense yellow electricity. I then pulled my fist back, and with as much strength as I could muster, smashed my electrified fist at the tree.
Upon impact, a small blast of electricity occurred as I pulled my fist back, the electric power dissipating from my hand and leaving a pretty deep, burnt hole in the tree with smoke rising into the air. I immediately stepped away and watched as the tree soon caved in on itself and fell to the ground with a resounding 'thud!'.
You've created new [Spell: [Thunder Punch]!
-[Thunder Punch] (Active) Cost: 50MP - An offensive spell that allows the user to conjure and focus lightning into their fist(s) to deliver an electrified punch. It deals physical lightning damage equal to 250% of (INT plus STR) x Skill Level. It has a chance of inflicting the [Status Effect: [Paralyzed] (and may be affected by the target's resistance(s)).
This... That was intense and quite stressful to my hand, looking down at my slightly charred fist as smoke drifted off. However, I couldn't help but feel proud and ecstatic at this, seeing as I've managed to successfully create another new [Spell], recreating a pretty solid short-ranged physical attack.
As for the [Spell] itself, it seems pretty strong, and the added chance of potentially paralyzing my opponents would no doubt help in battles, whether they be Danmaku or regular battles.
Anyway, I decided to test out my new [Spell] some more, committing a little bit of deforestation upon the silent Forest of Magic within the [Empty ID]. I knocked down and destroyed a bunch of trees, which made me feel a little guilty for a moment before recalling I was inside said [ID] and proceeding to do more electrified punching practice on the trees, using them as punching bags.
I kept repeatedly punching through a bunch of trees here, eventually stopping once I had exhausted most of my MP reserves, which lasted, I believe, a few hours. I placed my tired, shaking, and blackened hands on a tree. It was grueling, but I managed to level up my [Lightning Magic] along with improving some of my stats as well.
Through continuous usage of your magic and physical capabilities, you've gained: 5 STR, 3 END, 2 VIT, 2 DEX, 5 INT, 1 WIS!
[Lightning Magic] has Leveled Up! 4 =} 5
[Lightning Affinity] has reached Level 3!
Wiping the sweat off my forehead, I proudly smiled to myself as I stood straight and left the [Empty ID]. The usual sounds and strange noises of the forest returned as I was brought back into my new reality known as Gensokyo.
Upon stepping foot onto the slightly damp forest grounds, I decided that I wanted to explore the Forest of Magic a little, as I was already feeling a bit tired of staying in the same spot since I had gotten here.
Thus, I went ahead and began wandering through the forest. As I walked through the strange yet unique and natural scenery, I decided to look around and take in my surroundings. I also took the time to use [Observe] to level up the [Skill] as I scanned whatever I found and came across.
The humid, old-growth environment, coupled with the various species of hallucinogenic mushrooms that grow in areas where little to no sunlight enters the damp and dark forest, gives the place a strangely fascinating charm in my eyes. Perhaps it is even naturally beautiful to some degree, at least.
As I breathe the fresh air, I'm careful not to breathe in too many of the spores that are carried throughout the forest air. They are generally hazardous to the average human and discomforting to most Yokai, I would assume.
However, I'm mostly fine. This is likely due to being a [Fairy], as my body is mainly born from magic and its physiology, and possibly my resistances allow me to handle it, so long as I avoid taking in too many of the hazardous spores.
I also began picking up the various species of fauna and fungi through my venture within the forest such as herbs and certain mushrooms, making sure to pick the ones that are safe to pull as I placed them into my [Inventory].
One of these mushrooms being similar to some other edible mushroom I've seen online back in my previous life. Shimeiji, I think. Although these ones weren't so much...
[Food/Material: [Kakishimeji Mushroom] (x5)
Description: A strange species of Shimeiji mushrooms that is tasty but slightly poisonous when consumed. Must be cleaned before cooking for safe consumption.
-Recovers 10-15HP when consumed.
-May inflict [Status Effect: [Poisoned] when consumed.
-Can be used as an ingredient for preparing [Food] (when cleaned) or [Potions].
I decided to simply put a few of these into my [Inventory] for now. I'll most likely use them as ingredients when I start making [Potions] in the future. The same goes for the other herbs and mushrooms I've picked up along the way, as well as using some for cooking once I get to doing that.
[Food/Material: [Matsutake Mushroom] (x12)
Description: Also found in the Outside World, it is a sought-after wild mushroom. It is known for its thick, fibrous white flesh and earthy, spicy flavor and aroma.
-Recovers 10-25HP when consumed.
-Can be used as an ingredient for preparing [Food] or [Potions].
[Food/Material: [Younembo] (x3)
Description: A species of mushroom, also known as "Youkai Jounembo," usually resembles a Jounembo mushroom of differing sizes. It only grows within the Forest of Magic and has a pleasant smell and rich flavor. However, it also carries a slight poisonous and hallucinogenic effect when consumed.
-Recovers 10-23HP when consumed.
-May inflict [Status Effect: [Poisoned].
-May inflict slight hallucinations upon consumption.
-Can be used as an ingredient for preparing [Food] (when cleaned) or [Potions].
As I placed the rest of my mushrooms into my [Inventory], I continued exploring the seemingly vast forest in Gensokyo as I traversed through the thick and mysterious woods. I also took some herbs and fauna from the strange wilderness.
Such as some of these green, unique grass herbs in one hand before carefully placing them into you-know-what.
[Food/Material: [Refreshing Grass] (x18)
Description: A green, grass-like magical herb that can be used as an ingredient for medicine or for recovering one's stamina when consumed, as well as being used in brewing potions.
-Recovers 5-6HP and 10-24SP when directly consumed.
-Can be used as an ingredient for preparing [Food] or [Potions].
I've even managed to spot and pick up some small blue herbal flowers as I used [Observe] on them.
[Food/Material: [Calming Blue Flower] (x9)
Description: A blue herbal flower that gives off a calming effect and is usually used in making medicine and/or blending into tea, relaxing one's body and mind. Good for relieving stress and calming the nerves as well as replenishing some of the user's magic.
-Relaxes the body and mind to a degree when consumed.
-Recovers 25-56MP when directly consumed.
-Can be used as an ingredient for preparing [Food] or [Potions].
And, as I kept using [Observe] through wandering the dark and densed forest, I would manage to Level Up the [Skill].
[Observe] has Leveled Up 4x! 1 =} 5
However, as I continued walking through the forest on foot, my progress was brought to a halt as I soon encountered one of the forest's local mobile plant life.
I was momentarily caught off guard but quickly regained my bearings as I jumped back a fair distance when three creatures burst out of the ground.
They each stood on three or four root-like legs. The rest of their bodies consisted of a long, thick green stem with two long, sharp leaves with jagged edges that looked like they could easily embed into an average human's flesh. Their "heads" consisted of three dark green sepals and four big red petals, each petal having three straight rows of sharp, spike-like teeth inside, acting as their mouths, with a single small glowing orb inside, acting as their "eyes," as they seemed to slowly move toward me, looking to take a bite out of me.
Nervously, I stood my ground carefully as I brought out my [Wooden Short Sword] from my [Inventory]. This would be my first ever battle here and I felt pretty tensed already as I've never had real experience back then...
Pretty soon, music began to play.
~[Playing BGM: [Dangerous Guys] - [Mother 3]~
As I waited for them to react, I cast a quick [Observe] on the middle one who seemed slightly bigger, reading its info as I anticipated their first move with my wooden blade held firmly. A look of resolve and determination on my face.
Name: Red Man-eater Flower
HP: 210/210
SP: 210/210
MP: 475/475
Level: 13
Description: A carnivorous species of man-eating magical plants which commonly grows within the Forest of Magic. They often attacks other wild creatures or humans that step foot into the forest by burrowing into the ground as they wait before bursting out to catch them off guard. They typically come in groups of three to five.
Emotions: hungry, ferocious
As I read the basic info on them, I kept my eyes ahead and held my guard up. There were three of them with the one in the middle being slightly bigger leading the rest of them.
Lvl 13. Red Man-eater Flower (Lvl. 1)
Lvl 10. Red Man-eater Flower (Lvl. 1)
Lvl 10. Red Man-eater Flower (Lvl. 1)
Soon enough, one of the weaker two lunged forward. Its four petals opened, revealing its sharp teeth and its glowing "eye" within its mouth, with a saliva-like substance drooling out, letting out a growling sound as it charged towards me.
Immediately, I brought out my silver cloud wings and avoided it with ease but remained cautious. I didn't want to mess up and slip, especially during my first experience in live combat and against a bunch of man-eating flowers, no less.
I brandished my wooden blade and quickly flew towards the carnivorous flower. However, it simply stood in place as it briefly closed its petals. Suddenly, it began firing seeds, the size of my small hands, from its mouth as it tried aiming my way, once again catching me by surprise as I barely managed to dodge them in time.
In return, I shot my own round of shots as I fired off a few [Mana Shots], wanting to gauge how strong it was, and three shots managed to land on it. However, I was taken aback as the predatory plant was instantly blasted by my [Mana Shots], killing it. It left me wide-eyed and stunned in midair, shocked.
Unfortunately, this momentary inaction would prove to be a grave mistake of mine, as I'm pelted by a barrage of seeds, courtesy of the other two killer flowers, who decided to join in the fight. Luckily, I only managed to get hit by three seeds, but the damage I sustained already left me with low HP!
Hiroshi Kokoro has taken 546 damage!
HP: 114/660
Holy shit! That took most of my HP, but I couldn't ponder much at all as I kept flying and avoiding the seeds being fired at me. As I dodged and weaved through their seed shots, I pulled my [Short Wooden Sword] back and flew at high speed towards one of them. Once close, I swung my sword and landed a blow on it.
HP: 94/150
I then quickly swung my sword twice more, ending its life. Suddenly, as if sensing danger from behind, I moved out of the way and dodged a flurry of seeds shot at where I was, turning to see the last one. It fired more seed shots my way as I continued to dodge its projectiles.

Sword Mastery allows you to wield any kind of sword with ease.
-Grants the user the ability to carry a [Sword] with ease.
-Passively increases the physical damage with a [Sword] by 5% x Skill Level.

Quickly dismissing the notifications, I kept my eyes on the last enemy. As it kept firing seeds at me, I shot back with my own. My left palm held out as I fired a stream of [Mana Shots] to end it, but it quickly reacted by burrowing its body into the ground, avoiding my attack.
I stopped and looked around, trying to spot where it was while keeping myself in midair. Suddenly, it burst out from underneath where I hovered, widely opening its petals to devour me whole. However, I managed to move out of the way in time, thanks to my prior anticipation and [Danger Sense].
I then flew and landed right behind it. My wooden blade quickly swung to attack, but it reacted fast and turned as it swung one of its long, sharp leaf appendages against my sword and swung the other towards my head.
Immediately, I moved my head, barely avoiding the sharp leafy appendage as I pushed my wooden sword against the plant, pushing it in turn and jumping back a bit. I then swiped both my hands, unleashing two [Airblades] in its direction. It tried to burrow back into the ground, but was too late, as the pressurized blades of air managed to cut through the deadly flower. I watched it let out one last agonizing screech as its cut-up remains fell to the ground, dead and lifeless. I did it...
I allowed my body to slump back to the ground, feeling tired as I stared up at the forest and rested. It felt a bit tense, but I couldn't help but smile proudly as I had managed to do well enough in my first battle here. However, it also made me realize how fragile I may actually be. Thus, I was determined to get stronger in the future.

Hours Later...
After walking around in the forest, I stopped for the day as I found a spot to sleep when night came. Once I did, I took the time to practice my magic for a while, slipping into an [Empty ID] and firing off my small array of various [Spells]. I was determined to improve myself and wanted to practice better usage of my magical abilities, shooting [Mana Shot] and [Air Blade] attacks at the surrounding trees.
[Mana Manipulation] has Leveled Up! 19 =} 20
[Wind Magic] has Leveled Up! 5 =} 6
[Danmaku (Touhou Project)] has Leveled Up! 23 =} 24
However, as I kept practicing these two [Spells], I started to notice something. After a few rounds of spell practice, I brought up my [Skills] and noticed a certain change in both my [Mana Shot] and [Air Blade] spells.
They deal magical damage equal to 80% of INT x Skill Level and require 3 MP per shot.
-[Air Blade] (Active) Cost: 6MP - User focuses Wind Magic into their open hand(s) as they swipe their hand(s), firing small curved blades of sharp, pressurized air towards their enemies. They deal sharp magical Wind damage equal to 75% of INT x Skill Level and require 6 MP per air blade.
For [Mana Shot], the 50% damage it could deal suddenly increased to 80%, while the latter's 60% became 75%, slightly increasing the damage dealt when using these [Spells]. It was here that I discovered a new and interesting aspect of my Magic and the [System].
It seems that I'm able to improve and refine, as well as possibly modify and perfect my [Spells], including those of my own creation, as I reach higher skill levels and gain further mastery and knowledge over my [Magic].
For reaching a good understanding behind your Magic, you've gained 1 INT and WIS!
Nice.
This time, I decided to continue training as I brought out my [Short Wooden Sword] and began practicing with it once more, wanting to improve my proficiency with the sword. Or, in other words, leveling up my [Sword Mastery].
[Sword Mastery] has Leveled Up thrice! 1 =} 4
I kept practicing with my wooden blade, hitting away at a tree as I thought about my experiences during my first fight.
Truthfully, I never really got into many real fights. Back then, I was usually the kind of person who often stayed in the background, always trying to avoid as much trouble. Now, though, I had just fought actual man-eating plants and would have almost certainly lost and died hours ago had I not pulled my bearings back in time...
Not only that, it was clear to me how frail my body seemed to be, and the fact that three shots were enough to take away most of my HP is a major concern. It reminded me of how weak Fairies were in general here compared to other races, and it frustrated me a little, but I calmed myself as I swore to get stronger later on.
As I kept swinging away, a thought occurred to me as I recalled my [ID Manipulation] skill and decided to try using the [Slime ID]. This would most likely be the first step in becoming strong, through one of the oldest and best-known staples in the RPG genre: grinding.
I stopped swinging as I used [ID Create]. However, this time it was different; I watched the world around me begin to change, as if reality was bending and distorting. The forest scenery kept warping and changing into a completely different one. The familiar feeling was taken from me as the surrounding trees, fauna, and various growing fungi began disappearing, slowly being replaced by an open field of green, where a few trees could be seen, as well as some natural foliage and rocks scattered about.
However, the thing that caught my attention the most wasn't the entirely changed scenery, but the various blobs of slime that were either crawling or hopping around the place.

Of course, I held onto my short wooden blade as I prepared myself to fight. One of them nearby, a green dog-sized mass of viscous and malleable substance with a noticeably small, black orb or core thing within the center of its body. It took notice of my presence and immediately began hopping towards my direction as I cast a quick [Observe].
Name: Green Slime
HP: 220/220
SP: 220/220
Level: 5
Description: A creature whose body is composed of a viscous and malleable slimy substance, with a small core at the center of its body. It crawls and hops around, using its adhesive slimy body to stick to surfaces. It also uses its body to absorb nearby plants, microscopic organisms, and (usually small) animals into its slimy mass to digest and gain nutrients.
Emotions: hungry, hostile
It lunged forward, launching its green mass toward my body. However, I simply flew out of the way with ease as I charged toward it myself, my wooden blade held firmly in my hands, and struck it quickly before it could react.
Name: Green Slime
HP: 179/220
SP: 210/220
Level: 5
My strike pushed it back a bit, but it quickly recovered and hopped towards me once more, furious, I would think, as I easily avoided it.
But then, it decided to fire off three shots of slime my way. Of course, I was prepared and avoided them all. It kept firing slime shots at me; however, I quickly rushed towards it as I flew and dodged, weaving through the barrage of slimy projectiles. In the next moment, I closed the distance between us and hacked away at the poor Green Slime, striking it several times before watching its body dissolve to the ground with only its core and some of its green slime left behind.

[Material: [Slime Gel (Green)] x3
[Material: [Slime Core (Green)] x1
Walking up to where it once stood, I scope up a handful of the green slime gem, squeezing it a bit. It felt soft and squishy, pretty sticky as I would expect it to. Also, why the Hell did picked this stuff up again? Oh, right!
I bring up my [Inventory] and tossed the gel into it as I did the same for the rest before picking up the slime core, examing it closely. And, of course, [Observe].
[Material: [Slime Core (Green)]
Description: A slime core harvested from the remains of a Green Slime, which could be used as a material in crafting items or as an ingredient for brewing potions.
-Can be used as either a material or an ingredient for crafting or for preparing [Food] or [Potions].
Upon closer inspection, it was more or less a dark orb that had a sort of green tint to it, from what I could tell. It seemed pretty interesting, I think. And, from what my [Observe] could glean, it could be used for crafting and such. Perhaps weapons as well, if that's possible.
However, just as I was pondering my own thoughts, my [Danger Sense] suddenly kicked in, and I quickly moved my body to the side, easily avoiding another Green Slime that had tried to sneak up and strike me from behind. Not only that, I looked around me and saw several more of the green blobs surrounding me as they moved closer.

Immediately, three launched themselves at me while the rest fired slime shots aimed my way. I swiftly flew above, avoiding their attacks as I took to the air.
The slimes kept firing more shots of slime at me. However, I fought back and struck one of them with an aimed [Thunderbolt] spell, instantly killing it. This didn't deter the other slimes, as they continued shooting slime and launching themselves towards me.
I didn't relent and kept fighting, firing my own wave of [Mana Shots] straight back as I continued to fly and dodge through several of their attacks easily, but I remained cautious. Soon enough, I would take out four slimes, plus a couple more that had tried to charge at me from behind.
However, more would soon come in and take their places, while plenty of them still kept a fair distance to fire off more slime shots, attempting to aim in my direction. I continued weaving through their shots, and this time, I decided to switch things up and unleashed a few [Spinning Wind Arrow] spells upon the ones shooting, while I kept swinging my [Wooden Short Sword] against any that got close to me.
This went on for a pretty long while, and as I kept fighting off these green slimes, a few more would soon join in but would quickly get killed again before being replaced by more.
As it dragged on for a bit, I realized something, and if anyone else were here too, they'd come to the same conclusion: this whole fighting, this entire thing was so obviously... Fucking easy!
Okay. I may have exaggerated a little, but you get the point. This was no real surprise to anyone, certainly not to me. I had already expected it to be easy, especially since I'm literally dodging every attack thrown my way as I'm simply flying way too fast for them to hit me.
Sure, they seem to somewhat negate a little of my physical attacks, likely due to their bodies. But that won't do much, as I'm still capable of beating them just fine with my wooden blade. I even threw in a couple of [Thunder Punches], taking out a bunch of them. Then again, this does make for some good practice. In the end, I managed to slay at least a total of over fifty [Green Slimes].

Smirking proudly to myself, I proceeded to leave the [Slime ID] with [ID Escape], satisfied with the amount of progress I had managed to make and the new [Title] I had received for it.
I watched as the blue sky above began to crack before shattering apart, and the whole scenery around me started changing again, eventually finding myself back in the familiar spot in the Forest of Magic. I looked up and saw that night had already begun to appear. Man, do I feel tired right now...
Slowly approaching a tree nearby, I promptly slumped my back against the wooden bark as I gazed up at the clear night sky, feeling mentally exhausted. The stars filtered through the night sky, twinkling like shining jewels alongside the moon above. Thinking about it, it made me wonder if this was the actual sky of the Outside World being seen from here or something else. And, as I pondered the thought, a familiar melody began to play as if it were being sung through a music box somewhere nearby...

It sounded so peaceful and calming, as if some of the stress and worries I've had suddenly began to drift away, if only momentarily...
...
I miss my home...
This has possibly been one of the longest times I've been away from home like this, and I'm starting to miss my home, or rather some of the people I knew. They've probably started to worry sick about me back home, wondering where I am right now...
For all our setbacks, for all the times we've sometimes fought, I still held some care for them and maybe even love...
Thinking about this further, I began recalling a certain memory from back then. A younger me, who at the time, was walking with little care as I got a little too close to the road...
I was out trying to buy bread—banana bread. It ended with me getting run over a bit by a pedicab bike from behind. Fortunately, I wasn't fatally hurt at all, but I injured my right ankle...
Yet, my younger self still wanted to get bread and tried to get up, but struggled a bit, even dragging my injured foot despite the pain. I remember my vision blurring quite a bit, most likely from shock...
The people around me brought me to the nearby hospital, and I sat in a wheelchair there. I waited until one of my older sisters and her husband came to pick me up. They were, of course, both worried and scolded me for it. I still got my banana bread, though, but now...
Remembering all of this made me realize that they cared for me, and I was grateful for it.
It took a few weeks for my ankle to heal, and even my nanay (mother) got worried for me...
'Nay...'
She was possibly the one who loved and cared for me the most, and... I miss her, and she's probably out there, worried sick about me, wondering where I am or what happened to me...
It made me feel guilty deep down. I sometimes thought I didn't deserve someone like her, and perhaps it's true...
"I'm sorry, nay... Sorry for being a hopeless excuse for a son and for leaving you behind..." I muttered, wondering if it's even possible to go back, but I doubt it. Really, I'm not sure if I could or... No. Just forget it; I should be fine here.
There's no point in returning there. I mean, how would they react to me now? Would they still love me? Would they still care? Would they start to hate me now that I'm no longer human? I... I don't want to know, nor do I even want to think at all...
I mean, I have freaking [Magic] now! I should be happy, right? I'm having the time of my life! So, why do I feel so...?
I could feel something sting in my eye; I probably just caught some dust or dirt there... Yeah... Just dust and dirt in my eyes, even as something threatening to roll down my cheeks...
I'll be fine on my own... right?
I could feel my eyes getting heavy as they began to slowly close shut, and soon, the blissful feeling of unconsciousness took over as I fell asleep underneath the calming yet twinkling night sky within the Forest of Magic...
But not without one last thought...
'I miss you...'
