The trip to the station was long, or so it felt long in the early morning hours. It was exactly as both parties expected. Their statements had to be taken. Explaining how the two had been out for a jog when she had been attacked out of nowhere. It was typical work, not much different than if they had been on patrol. Though they were not doing said paperwork in the comfort of their office on their own time but in the precinct instead. Sakaki liked it much better when she did her paperwork in the comfort of a hero agency instead.
She was well aware of the look the alpha police officer was giving her as she verbally recalled her side of the story. She had watched his eyes glance over her. Taking in the sight of her, an unmated omega out in the early morning with no scent blockers or protective collar on her neck. In clothes that belonged to an unmated alpha. She knew the look she was getting all too well. To this alpha before her she was seen as an idiot. An omega just flaunting herself. She had heard it all her life how at fault an omega should be for just simply trying to live their life. This was far from the first time she had seen or heard of an alpha victim shaming an omega. And it would not be the last. If anything she had to be mildly thankful the man had at least not vocalized his internal thoughts.
But then again maybe he would have had the blonde who stood beside her the entire time not snapped at him shortly after the looks had started. Of course Bakugou would notice something just as a scrutinizing look.
"What the hell are you looking at!" had been the bellow that had come from the blonde. It had been aimed at the man taking her reports but Bakugou had not kept his hard glare from spreading out to look around at all the eyes who had turned to look at him. Whether it was from the outburst or they were already looking she did not know.
"Don't," She had whispered to him as her right hand had reached out gently letting her fingers glance across a bicep as she drew his attention to her and she softly shook her head telling him not to bother. It was clear with the clench of his jaw and an almost visible pulse of a vein in his forehead he did not want to listen to her. And yet whether it was the look on her face or the soft scent she was attempting to give off, he actually listened to her.
Once her side of the story was taken Bakugou gave his recall of the encounter of how they had been running side by side. Only parting for a split second. He clearly had paused and pondered at that mention. He probably had the same internal question she did. Had the attack been planned? Had he been following them just waiting for the two of them to part enough for him to strike. Or had it just been random that the timing had worked out the way it had? After all, who would look at Bakugou and think that is an alpha worth fighting an omega for? She had been wearing his clothes and she knew after having fucked the night before their scents had to be clinging to one another. Even with her working a sweat and her own scent becoming stronger Bakugou's scent still mixed with hers and was unmissable. She remained quiet as she listened to the blonde say how he had heard the rather unattractive sound she had made when the man hit her. That had Bakugou hit the brake on his own run and had him turn on her attacker. Of course he kept to himself how he had seen red for a solid two seconds as he grabbed the man.
Bakugou had never wanted to kill someone so badly in those two split seconds. But Bakugou would never admit that or that he had nearly thought about snapping the man's neck for having attacked Sakaki. Instead he had been lucky enough to just restrain the man as soon as he had seen that the dark haired woman was completely unhurt. Well not completely, her elbows had a little road rash, and he was sure that her left shoulder hurt. It had hit the ground hard, she was lucky it was not dislocated. Bakugou was quick to give his statement not wishing to remain standing around on his day off in the police station.
Both hero's had grown tense while giving their statement, although Bakugou's little outburst had kept any snide comments from coming her way. It had not completely stopped the judgmental stares. Still it could have been so much worse for her. Funny how having a growling alpha beside an omega changes how one is treated. They barely made it three steps down the street before Bakugou spoke up. Which was surprising she did not expect him to remain so calm and collected for so long.
"What the fuck was that?" The question had not surprised her. Though she was slightly unsure what exactly he was talking about. What part of that had confused him?
"What was what?" She asked with a slight tilt of her head. A lot about that encounter was normal for her. Hell it had gone better for her than it had for many others.
"The looks. That dumb ass extra was clearly wanting to chew into you for something. The way he looked at you when you first started to give your statement. Or the side glances from the extra's eavesdropping," Ah so Bakugou had indeed noticed the judgmental looks.
"Ah. Do not worry about it. It's fine. Alpha's love to give omegas looks like that. I was stupid for not having any scent blockers or a collar on. To many that is as good as asking for it. There is nothing you can do about what other people think. I find it best to just ignore it," She answered, slightly surprised that her answer only seemed to upset the blonde more as the two walked side by side heading back towards Bakugou and Kirishima's place.
"How can you be so calm? Those assholes were clearly judging you and would have said something had I not been there," Bakugou raised his voice but she paid it no attention. If anything it slightly warmed her heart to see the alpha getting so worked up over her.
"They were. And I have no doubts that had you not been there I would have had to listen the entire time to how at fault or stupid I was for my decision to go out unprepared. It is not the first time I have had an alpha tell me that I did something to myself for just doing something that any normal person can do. This is why I hide my second gender so much in high school. There are judgmental ass's everywhere. There is nothing you or I can do about it. So don't get your panties in a knot," She had quickly turned from serious to teasing, wanting nothing more than to change the mood and conversation. But Bakugou being the all too smart idiot he is refused to just let her change the subject.
"Has this happened before?" He asked his voice, having dropped in volume all of the sudden well aware of what he was asking her.
"Which part of this morning? Attacked? Yes. This was not the first time an alpha has attacked me with little to no foment. I am simply lucky that you were there. Thank you for that by the way. Have I also had alphas look at me and berate me for doing something they could see as a provoked action? Yes. Victim shaming omega's is incredibly common. Being an alpha I am sure you have not experienced it before. People love to say that society is more equal than it is but that's a lie. Being an omega means that one is seen as nothing more than a bed warming breeding machine. We are to be kept in the home cooking, cleaning and bending over for an alpha. How many omega hero's do you know of?" Sakaki had asked at the end of her little rant. She could tell with the way those hard vermilion eyes had glanced away from her that she knew her words hit the blonde. He could only think of a couple of omega sidekicks that worked in their field. But beta's and alpha's truly dominated the hero world. She had thrown a lot at him with her little ramble.
"It's not right though. None of it. You should not fear being able to go out at any time of day just because you are an omega. You should not be seen as anything but a victim when attacked or abused. You are proof that omegas can be heroes on their own. You are probably the only unmated omega hero I know of," Bakugou said now recalling how upset she had gotten so upset with him when he had tried to treat her like a lowly sidekick. It made sense why it had upset her so much. How many alpha hero's or those in the field treated her as less once learning her second gender? No wonder she wore those stupid scent patches religiously. This was how she was treated otherwise. And that just made the blonde's blood boil.
"You're right. And that is why I work hard to be the hero I am. I do not do this work for fame. I do it to show that omega's can do the exact same as any alpha or beta. It may take a little more work but we can reach the same goals in life. The best way to show people with such close minded mindsets is to rub it in their faces," Her lips had curled up slightly at the admittance that she loved to be able to rub people's faces in her accomplishments. That had a bark of laughter come from the blonde. He could not argue with the woman there.
By the time the two were walking back into the nice and large two bedroom apartment though the shared laughter and feelings had vanished, and the two were once again arguing. Even as shoes were kicked off Kirishima and Sasara stood in the kitchen about to start some breakfast and had hit a pause when the front door had swung open.
"And I told you already. I am not going to do that," was the bark from the famine voice.
"And why the hell not? Those damn extra's deserve it," Had been the harsh yell that could only have come from one loud blonde.
"Because I already told you why," Sakaki yelled back as the pair rounded into the apartment's kitchen, originally wanting drinks.
"Uh what's going on?" Kirishima had asked as if he had just walked out into a mind field and was unsure where it was safe to tread now as he looked between the two people.
"This moron refuses to file a complaint of a police department," Bakugou had jabbed a thumb over at Sakaki who was glaring daggers at the blonde.
"And I already told you it's not worth it. Police are already understaffed. And getting a bunch suspended will not help anyone. That will not change their actions nor will it keep them from doing it in the future. If anything they may be worse next time," Sakaki said throwing her hands into the air for fear she may try and reach out to strangle the blonde for just not being able to get it through his thick skull she did not want to file a complaint for how she was treated at the police station. It had not even been that bad. But Bakugou clearly felt different.
"Nothing is going to change if their stupid behavior is allowed to continue," Bakugou had argued she should be out for blood and demand heads from the officers who had looked at her with such judgmental gazes that it was easy to see what was going through their heads.
"Uhm what exactly happened?" Kirishima asked, clearly confused as he watched the two arguing in the middle of the kitchen. He could not even attempt to intervene with such little knowledge of what was going on.
"Some dumb ass alpha thought it would be a good idea to attack her while we were out on a jog this morning. While we were at the police station some damn extras were giving her looks like it was her own fault for being attacked. As if a feral alpha attacking her out of no were was her own fault just cause she's an omega," Bakugou had blatantly given a very short explanation of what had happened, "And I told her she should file a complaint for the way the officers were treating and looking at her."
"And I told you that would do no good. They did not even say anything outright to me, there's nothing to file a complaint about you moron," Sakaki had argued back.
"Oh Shun, are you okay?" Sasara had asked quickly to go to the taller omega woman ready to fuss over her.
"I'm fine Sasara. A little road rash is all. Nothing, a hot shower and some rest won't fix," Sakaki said quickly to sooth her friend who had instantly let off a sour scent when she heard her friend had been attacked. Sakaki also had a pounding headache but she was unsure if that was from the hangover, her head bouncing off the sidewalk, or from Bakugou's yelling on the last half of the walk home. Maybe it was from all three.
"It sounds like she has a point Baku-bro. If no one said or did anything other than look at her then a complaint is not worth filing," Kirishima said to the blonde as he watched the two women sooth one another as he watched the pale haired smaller omega still lean into her friend and hug her. Kirishima's words had the blonde growling to himself unhappy with the two morons agreeing.
"I think Bakugou is more upset over the fact that he had been unaware that people blatantly treat omega's like that. What he saw was calm and very nice," Sakaki admitted as she leaned down a little allowing her shorter friend a chance to scent her and help eliminate what lingering scent of the feral alpha had clung to her clothes. Sasara also knows better than anyone how high emotional turmoil being attacked can be for an omega, and so she didn't even hesitate to start scenting her friend. An action Sakaki enjoyed but would never voice or ask for. Sasara knew her friend was too stubborn to admit she loved such omega actions.
That comment though had both alpha's pause to watch the two women. This was still a hard pill for Bakugou to swallow and it seemed it was also becoming one for the redhead who seemed to look unsure. Did he want to argue or ask questions? Bakugou would bet it was the ask questions look that the redhead had but was worried his questions may be insensitive or rude.
"Does something like that happen a lot?" Kirishima asked. He was clearly hesitant with his question as he watched as both women nodded their heads before he continued his questions, "Which part happens a lot?"
"All of it," Sakaki answered as she finally tried to squirm a little in her friend's embrace but Sasara seemed reluctant to let go. And once Sakaki realized the conversation may make her uncomfortable she stopped squirming.
"I don't think I know a single omega who has never been attacked or looked down on for being who they are. It is just how things are. Sure lots of people are nice and don't treat omega's that bad. But at the end of the day there are still some alpha's around or even beta's on rare occasions who see it as acceptable to treat omegas as a lower being," Sakaki said simply with a shrug of her shoulders.
"It is just a way of life," Was the soft input that the smaller woman had given as the two men stood standing side by side watching the two omega women. Learning this bit of information did not sit well with either man. They had never noticed, unaware of looks tossed at omegas, unaware of how they were normally treated.
And Sakaki was tired of this conversation and the heavy reminder of the issues she faced on a day to day occurrence if she did not heavily cover up her sweet omega scent or omega tendencies.
"Uhm so has anyone had breakfast? I am kinda hungry?" Sakaki was quick to break the silence that had fallen over the group as the guys took in the information they had just learned as Sakaki and Sasara had silently been scenting and soothing one another during the uncomfortable conversation.
That seemed to do the trick as both men seemed to finally be pulled from their thoughts. Kirishima started to smile widely at them as he always did, quick to explain how he and Sasara had been in the middle of discussing what to do for food before Bakugou and Sakaki had returned home. Sasara had mentioned she was thinking of cooking something for breakfast but before she could get further into her idea and ask what they all wanted to eat Bakugou was barking at all three of them to get out of his kitchen. If anyone was cooking breakfast apparently it was going to be him. Which in turn had two out of the three laughing at him. Sasara was unsure, wanting to argue that she could have done it. But Sakaki and Kirishima had just laughed at the angry blonde and had herded the pale haired woman out of the blonde's cooking space.
"Don't take it personally. Princess just does not trust people to be able to cook up to his burnt off taste buds standards," Sakaki had called out over her shoulder loud enough to ensure the man she was talking about could hear her. Which had earned her a threat that he would add ghost peppers to her portion of the meal. Which just had the dark haired woman laugh as she took her friend into the living room and dragged her onto the couch where the two omega's cuddled and watched tv for the first time in front of the two alpha's.
