Doctor Leonard McCoy, the Chief Medical Officer of the Starship Enterprise is not happy. He had to perform minor surgery on a female crewmember who got carried away performing an unusual act with her husband. A day like any other day for the CMO.

Spock is looking at some old-fashioned photographs of a pet he had during childhood. Jim returns to their home concerned about his husband's sadness he feels through their bond.

Vulcans do not celebrate the day of their birth although they do acknowledge them. It's not logical. One man, a human, intends to change that for the Vulcan in his life.

Spock is in bed beside a peacefully sleeping James T. Kirk.

McCoy reflects on all the little and big moments that led to falling in love with Spock.

This is one I felt I HAD to write. In The Entropy Effect Braithewaite was very unfair to Mandala Flynn; I thought Captain Hunter should've corrected him. Here, she does.
