Characters/couple: Sam McCall and Damien Spinelli
A/n: this was requested by babycomeback24, I am going to attempt this even though I find Spinelli very difficult to write anyway, I hope you like it.
Sam McCall smoothed her brunette hair away from her shoulders, an annoyed look taking residence on her face as Jason Morgan took it up on himself to sit in front of her.
"Can I help you?" Ever since she'd found out about the night of the blackout as well as Elizabeth carrying Jason's baby, she had been cool on anything related to Jason Morgan. Didn't he know how that made her feel? Sam had so badly wanted to have a child with Jason but, she couldn't. It was physically impossible. Maybe Jason hadn't meant to wound her but, the fact remained that he had.
"I'm not here to fight, Sam. I...I made a mistake. I miss you, you're the only one who's ever gotten me." Jason's blue eyes spoke to her soul but, she wasn't going to listen. Sam had a new man in her life, a man who wouldn't hurt her.
"While that sounds tempting, I'm with someone. You lost your chance, jason.' Sam admired her freshly painted black nails.
"Who?" Jason was shocked. How could Sam move on so fast?
"If you must know, I'm with Spinelli." Sam allowed but, she didn't expect Jason to laugh.
"No you're not." Jason softly laughed, barely able to contain himself.
"What do you mean I'm not? Yes I am! You can't tell me who I'm seeing. You know nothing about my life, not anymore. Why don't you go do what you do best? Go play house with Elizabeth." Sam scoffed, making a swipe for her wallet.
"I don't know why you're lying, there's no way you and Spinelli are a couple." Jason presses his lips into a thin line.
"Why is it so hard to believe?" Sam shouted at him, she didn't care that all of Jake's could hear her. Who did Jason think he was? Some kind of saint sent to rescue her? No. Sam McCall was no damsal in distress, she saved herself. Unlike Baby's breath Elizabeth.
"Sam, don't get upset..." Jason started holding up a hand, slowly getting up from the table.
"You're just mad because YOU can't have me!"
Damien Spinelli walked into Kelly's Diner, his eyes landing on Lulu Spencer who was behind the counter. Dillon Quartermaine sat at the far end of the counter, blonde eyebrows cinched together in an attempt to focus.
"Salutations Blonde one." Spinelli smiled, Lulu had been one of his only friends for almost two years now. Spinelli slid into a stool as Lulu gave him a bright smile.
"Spinelli!" She shouts happily, she was one of the people who was always happy to see him.
"Spinelli." Dillon slightly nodded, briefly looking up from his papers.
" Don't mind Grumpy McGrumpypants, he's just mad that I kept him up all night." Lulu smirked, indicating there was something going on between them.
"Does that mean...?" Spinelli trailed off, unsure if he wanted to know.
"Lulu's off the market, I'm sorry about your luck." Dillon sighed, he didn't mean to be so gruff about it but, he was tired.
"You? And you?" Spinelli thought after the abortion the previous summer, Dillon and Lulu wouldn't really have anything to do with each other. Surely Dillon would want to rekindle things with Georgie. Right?
"A normal person would say congratulations." Dillon slightly smirked.
"Dillon, when has Spinelli ever been normal?" Lulu playfully rolled her eyes.
"Normal is a fairly...relative term. I... have someone. What one might call a... significant other." Spinelli found it hard to pinpoint what exactly was going on between him and Sam.
"For real?" Dillon was completely caught off guard.
"Thank God you finally got over your crush on me! OMG Spinelli has a boo! Tell me everything!" Lulu squealed, excitedly grabbing her friend's hand.
"Oh boy, here we go." Dillon sighed, though he was secretly wondering who it was.
"It's...Fair Samantha." Spinelli wasn't sure how they'd respond but, he certainly didn't expect laughter.
"Did I say something... humorous?" Spinelli wondered.
"Spinelli, there is no way you are dating someone who was in love with Jason. Are you sure? Maybe you misunderstood what Sam meant." Dillon knew that Spinelli was easily misunderstood with the ladies.
"Okay so let's pretend you are dating Sam, where do you go from here? How does your friendship with Jason look?" Lulu decided to entertain this idea, though she certainly didn't believe it.
"I...hadn't thought that far. I've got to go but, I am with fair Samantha." Spinelli took his leave, leaving Lulu and Dillon speechless. Spinelli and Sam met up at her apartment, after talking about their frustrations.
"I can't believe nobody thinks we're dating. Lulu didn't believe you?" Sam relaxed onto her couch.
"No. Not one bit." Spinelli clarified.
"Well, forget them. We're together whether anyone believes it or not!"
