Couple: Carly Jacks/Sonny Corinthos (mentioned), Jason Morgan and Carly Jacks, Brenda Barrett and Sonny Corinthos.

If looks could kill, Sonny Corinthos would be dead on the floor right now. Leave it to Sonny to fake his own death for A WHOLE YEAR living on a tropical island with his precious Brenda. While his children and estranged wife grieved for him! Carly Jacks sat across from him in Diane's office, looking on as Brenda sat dutifully by his side.

"What a bitch." Carly mutters under her breath, she didn't know how much longer she could hold her tongue. Where the HELL was Jason?

"God, I hope he didn't get shot." Carly briefly shut her deep blue eyes and sent out a prayer to a God she wasn't even sure existed. She couldn't just sit here and pretend to be strong, she needed Jason.

"I'm sorry." Carly heard the door click open and her best friend was instantly by her side, Carly breathed a sigh of relief opening her eyes.

"It's okay, all that matters is that you're here now." Despite the circumstances Carly smiled as Jason pressed a kiss to her face. Out of the corner of her eye Carly could see the fury in Sonny's eyes, the thought of Jason and Carly infuriates him. It always had. This time maybe that's exactly what they wanted.

"Can you do this for me?" Carly whispers to Jason, trying not to make much noise.

"Carly, you know that I would do anything for you. You're my best friend and my girlfriend but facing Sonny is something you have to do on your own. For your sense of mind. I'm by your side through everything but, you can't avoid Sonny forever." Jason places a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"You're right, you're always right. Thank you, I needed to hear that." Carly hugged Jason, before rising from her seat and crossing the room over to Sonny and Brenda.

"I genuinely hate you, I really do. You let your family and friends grieve for someone who wasn't dead. Do you have any idea the amount of tears I've had to wipe off of my children's faces? They needed you and you weren't there. All you cared about was Brenda, you just left us in the dust. I will get along with you for the kids but, I don't ever want you in my personal life again. Do you get me?" Carly narrowed her sky blue eyes down to slits, staring into Sonny's eyes. Sonny had to tear his eyes away, the guilt was too much.

"Carly, I'm not perfect -" Sonny started, his voice sounding gravely.

"That's for damn sure!" Carly scoffed, unable to help the bitter laugh that escaped her lips.

"Would you please let me finish?" Sonny snapped at her, agitated.

"Make it snappy, I don't have all day." Carly crossed her arms.

"Things with Brenda just make sense. Maybe I could have made better decisions but, I can't change the past Carly. I'm sorry to everyone that I hurt but, I'm not going to apologize for finding Brenda again." Sonny was honest, it kind of hit Carly in the gut.

"I was always your back up plan when things didn't work out, I've done that for far too long. This is over. I'm with Jason by the way, he treats me better than you ever have. Goodbye Sonny." With that Carly scribbled her signature on the divorce papers and went outside to join Jason.

"Are you ready?" Jason asked, taking her hand in his.

"Always."
