"Borderline."
Peter Parker.
I set up the Spiderbots, double-checking their latest update, and turn to the capsule with the Spider Armour.
I take the handmade adamantium armour off the pedestal and change.
You'll be safe from dinosaur fangs now, Bearer.
Neither is being in the epicentre of a nuclear explosion," I clench my fist. - Potentially.
The A1 armour fits comfortably, not like a second skin, but comfortable. I warm up a little in my new suit. The measurements were right. I sling my katana scabbard on my back and teleport to Harlem.
I open the hatch and take the stairs down.
- So, you ready? - I turn to my son as I make my way to the back of the room.
- Mm-hmm," the brown-haired man said without any enthusiasm.
He obviously needed a break.
- Come on, Benji, not even a comment about my costume? - I spread my arms out to the sides.
- It looks cool," Parker sighed. - What's it made of?
- Adamantium," I said, smiling proudly.
- Adamantium?! - visibly more animatedly reacted his son. - But how?!
- Company secret, - I wink at the descendant. - But, seriously, I managed to recreate the formula, albeit by slightly radical methods.
- Very specific, - rolled his eyes brown-haired.
- Don't worry about it, son," I put my arm around Benji's neck. - We'll go to the Arctic, I'll introduce you to Ka-Zar and his family, we'll run away from dinosaurs, fun!
- I see... to the Arctic?! - the boy turned his head in shock.
- That's right, - immediately teleporting us to Wild Earth.
- Wow," the younger Parker began to twirl his head round animatedly.
- You've never been here before? - I'm making conversation.
- A few times during missions in the past, that is, in the future... But it was somehow not enough for sightseeing, - the brown haired man yawned and returned to his zero mood.
- Believe me, you'll like it...
Before I could finish my thought, Spider-Sense kicked in.
With a loud roar, several Tyrannosaurs appear from behind the broadleaf trees.
And here I thought they were solitary predators...
While Raj was pondering, Reza's red cover was already crawling over Benji. Seconds later, my symbiote did the same.
Why, brother? - I'm surprised at the alien's decision.
I just thought, there's a battle coming up, my son is supporting yours, so maybe we can show the young ones how it's done? - explained the Clintarian with a smirk.
Well, let's go," I replied with a grin and formed symbiotic blades. - If they try to bite me, you'll crawl away and let me check the stability of the armour.
No problem, Peter.
And, wait... did you call us old!?
After the symbiote didn't respond, I release a double strand of organic webbing and slingshot myself up to the grey-brown reptile's carcass, slamming into the sluggish creature with a corkscrew.
Meanwhile, Benji released a dozen pointed symbiotic tendrils and began chopping up his similar reptile, only green in colour.
I tried to knock the lizard out and got a little distracted because I noticed that Benji was... clearly disengaged, which is why I got the Sense signal, but I couldn't dodge the T-Rex's tail.
- Phew! - The attack slammed into a sturdy tree trunk and cracked my carcass into the poor creature of the flora kingdom. - Thank you for removing the cover, brother," I thank the Klyntarian, rising and shaking off my armour, "not a speck of dust, even if the blow doesn't dampen it... but that's what regeneration is for.
In any case, you still need more than that to at least get a stretch.
That's a fact," I agree with the Klyntarz and release the stings.
I'll put the animal to sleep, I don't want to kill this little guy.
- ARGH!
Benji, on the other hand, is not so peaceful...
I poke the reptile and as the polymer poison begins to take effect, the dinosaur slows down, breathes heavily, and then collapses on its side, losing consciousness.
- That's it, take a nap, mate," I retract my stingers and turn my head.
- COME HERE, YOU SCUM!
Benji throws himself at the Tyrannosaurus, piercing its carcass with his tentacles and driving his elongated red symbiotic claws into the reptile's skull.
The T-Rex howls in pain, but Future Spider isn't too bothered by it.
Tensing his muscles, Parker rips out the dinosaur's skull. Bouncing off the decapitated torso, the brown-haired man lands on the ground in a pirouette.
- WHOO-HOO! Did you see that, Dad?! - The boy happily turns in my direction. - How I did with that lizard!
- Yeah, that was... wild.
- Yeah, it was! - Silver ran up, tossing his head. - 'Do you think the chief's family would like such a gift? And more importantly," the boy raised his palm. - Are there any other predators like that around here, I'd love to hunt!
- Um... let's get to the village first," I point to the east, where the Ka-Zara community is located.
* That time.
A few kilometres away.
Sergei Kravinoff.
Kravain adjusted his lion skin waistcoat and examined the tracks.
He had only reached the great hunting grounds a few hours ago. And he had already fulfilled his contract halfway through.
Nothing difficult, for a hunter of his level, after all, fifty per cent of the required specimens belonged to members of the herbivore class. It wasn't the brunet's first foray into the Arctic.
But now it would be more difficult, the meeting with predators was ahead. And we should start with the big ones.
* Later, later on in the evening.
Spider-Man.
- Thank you for dinner, Shanna," I thank the queen of the Wildlands as I leave her and Ka-Zar's tent.
I walk a few metres and stop next to the blond boy, who is watching the evening situation in his domain from a hill. Zabu immediately reacts to my approach.
- Your son... is an interesting person," the man said, not taking his eyes off the scenery of the village.
- There's no need to keep a straight face, bro, I know he's been acting like a rare arsehole," I stop next to the jungle guy. - He's just going through a rough patch right now, and I don't know exactly what's going on," I sighed, leaning against a large rock next to him.
- I don't understand how you can be the father of such a grown man at your age," Ka-Zar hummed, stroking the withers of his saber-toothed tiger.
- The answer is just as simple: time travel," I returned the smirk. - But it's best not to think about it, or you'll get a headache.
- I see. In any case, your son obviously had his reasons, even if I'm not a big proponent of such... permissiveness.
- Yeah, I'm sorry again about the head and Benji trying to give it to Matthew.
- It's okay, Shanna wasn't happy about it, but my son wasn't really scared or upset, so it's forgotten," the blond shrugged.
- So did you see where Benji went?
- Just like he said he would," Ka-Zar said, nodding at the wild jungle in the distance. - I'd advise you to hurry, considering how dangerous the green lands are in the night, but given the Tyrannosaurus' head, it's your son you should be wary of in this jungle.
- Yeah, thanks for the tip," I nodded to my friend and jumped down from the hill.
Raj, can you track Reza?
Of course, Bearer.
While my brother worked the navigator, I pondered the emotional attractions I'd witnessed.
I may not be a psychologist, but I'm knowledgeable enough to be confident in my judgement: Benji is clearly not suffering from ordinary overwork.
He's overly irritable, winded.
Violent.
I know what you're thinking, Bearer," the symbiote spoke. - You can't help if your descendant doesn't want you to.
Don't talk as if you yourself are not concerned about my son's condition, at least, because it could affect yours as well.
Yes, I admit it. The prospect of my offspring going mad, which you and I both know is a possibility, makes me uneasy...
So I'll try to help, even if Benji doesn't want to make contact.
The dialogue with the alien was smoothly interrupted when, as we approached, we heard the sounds of battle.
Still found some dinosaurs, though.
I knew it wasn't Benji, however, beforehand. By the ringing of my gut.
Creeping through the thickets of the natural landscape and what I saw in seconds replicates a closed-captioned click in my head. Meanwhile, Kraven the Hunter holds a velociraptor trying to rip its face open by the throat with the palm of his hand.
I release a strand of webbing and pull the reptile away.
- I jump over several approaching dinos and stand back to back with the one who once almost successfully took my life, smoothly switching to the Russian language, which is so native, even in the distant past.
- The vicissitudes of life are unpredictable, Spider-Man," the brunet replied, snatching up two kukri.
Well, yes, almost...
Bearer, listen, why didn't you leave him to the teeth? - Raj asked as I released the stingers and poked the creatures that were attacking me.
I didn't see the point of that, brother, because I was close to sending the hunter to the afterlife, and he'd given me his word never to pursue me afterwards. And he was a man of honour.
I disarmed the animals, watching Kravinoff, also methodically exterminating the living force.
And it seems as if the aggression of raptors begins to come to naught at the expense of obvious reduction of their flock, as suddenly...
- WHOO-HOO! - Benji dives from a height, like Tarzan, but on symbiotic vines, straight at one of the dinosaurs.
The crack of broken bones and the dead carcass of the raptor clearly soften Silver's landing.
- Did you see that, Dad? Ten points for style, I tell you! - The brown-haired man shook off his shoulder. - 'Okay, fine, I'll enjoy the applause later,' Parker formed massive symbiotic blades. - Who's the first critter!
Somewhat over-excited, Benji lunged at the remaining reptiles.
We don't need any help either... your offspring are doing a great job of carving up the dinosaur population," the Clintarian noted confusedly.
- WOW, BODRIT! - shouted the Spider of the Future and turned to Kravinoff, who was tensely holding his blood-dripping kukri. - Well, well, well," the brown-haired man turned to me. - Isn't that Kraven the Hunter?
And without waiting for my answer, Benji released a dozen pointed symbiotic tendrils, nailing Kravinoff to a thick tree trunk in seconds. He didn't even have time to react.
And your offspring is not short on pleasantries.
And you are as always on time with your comments ...
Immediately Parker lengthened the symbiotic claws on his right hand, turning them into natural cleavers.
- You know, I've always had a problem with stubborn bastards like you," the guy raised his hand to strike.
- Arachnid, stop! - I shout, surprised as hell at such bloodthirstiness from my usually cheerful son.
- Why? He's your enemy! - Benjy was surprised and, apparently reluctantly, stopped his limb just outside Sergei's neck.
- Son, let him go, I won't say it again," I said, trying to convey the firmness of my intention.
- Pfft, I need him badly," the Spider of the Future snorted, removing his tendrils from the Clintar substance.
Kraven's leg buckled and the brunet grimaced. Benji had clearly managed to rattle the hunter. Possibly with fractures as well...
I approached them both, keeping a close eye on my son, who had turned away and moved a few metres away, staring intently at the bloodstained landscape.
He seems to have begun to ignore us completely.
- Leg? - I clarify the hunter in a concentrated manner.
- Yes, - nods Kravinoff. - I have to admit, it's a well-deserved reaction, I should have known your offspring would be a fierce warrior like yourself," the hunter said, seeming to hold no grudges.
- Yeah, sorry about that," I sighed, bandaging my old enemy's injury.
- Unexpected," the brunet said, stretching the limb. - Thank you. And also it didn't seem to me during our first meeting... are you Russian?
- Ha, - I smile under the mask. - Let it remain my little secret, - I rise, stretching my back. - What are you doing here?
- I'm combining a pleasant vocation with a useful acquisition, - Sergei grinned. - My employer needed blood samples from a dozen species of dinosaurs living here in the Wild Earth, so I'm here.
- Well, that's just the way rich people are," I sighed. - I see, well... is our treaty still in force?
- I don't break my word," the brunet nodded gravely.
- That's fine. How is your wife, was the child born healthy?
- And strong, - Kravinov smiled proudly. - I see you've been blessed, too," the hunter cast a wary glance at Benji, who was still staring at the carnage. - Really, I thought you were a lot younger...
- Time travel," I shrugged. - Never mind.
- Well, I see," the hunter held out his palm to me. - I guess I should be going.
- I guess so," I nod, returning the firm handshake of the man who once cut me, poisoned me, and threw me off a fucking bridge.
I'll never get tired of remembering that.
And yet, God taught us to forgive.
- My camp is three kilometres away," the hunter stepped back, limping, and picked up his spear, which was lying in the tall grass. - Good luck on your warrior journey, Spider-Man, and you... Arachnid, right?
- Yeah, yeah, we're letting the supervillains go," Benji nodded. - All the best with all the crime-themed stuff, just awesome! - Silver threw up his arms and pulled himself up to the top of the tree, hooking his symbiotic tendrils into the tree.
- Good luck to you too, Kraven," I nodded to the hunter. - Son, stop! - I rush after Benji, leaving my former adversary behind.
Funny though, a snap warned of such a minor encounter? Weird... Comment on Chapter 176. Wild Weekend. Part 2 * - .ru/i/GYXGEnxP0t81IQ
