Chapter 9: Friendship is Magic Part 2: Answers and the Truth

Nightmare Moon continued her laughing as she told everyone the night would last forever, but Spyro, instead of cowering like everyone else, stood high amongst everyone else, which seemed to have caught everyone's attention. When Nightmare Moon stopped laughing, she looked to her subjects, but took a notice to Spyro and how he stood high among everyone else in the town, leering at her, and not even afraid of her.

"Well, this is intriguing." Nightmare Moon said. "Among all of you, there is one who seems to hold no fear. Let's see if we can change that."

Her horn glowed a dark blue and a bolt of dark magic was shot towards Spyro, everyone telling him to get out of the way or he'd die, even Twilight wanted him to move, but he didn't budge as if he didn't fear her magic. When it was about to hit, Spyro raised his hoof and caught the bolt through the Force, stopping it where it was, shocking everyone there, including Nightmare Moon who was in disbelief. He then turned the bolt of magic and redirected it back to Nightmare Moon, who dodged the bolt but looked down at Spyro, furious.

"You dare to attack me!?" She said. "Do you have any idea who you're dealing with you defiant abomination!?"

"Yeah, a little filly who's having a temper tantrum." Spyro said, making everyone snicker.

"You dare to mock me!?" She shouted, sending another bolt at him, but only for the same result to occur.

As soon as she was about to leap off where she stood to charge, two dark orbs appeared and Air Soldiers popped out of them, making everyone gasp. A moment later, Shadows appeared from the ground and Soldiers popped out of more dark orbs, making Spyro fear for the safety of everyone in the town hall. He turned to tell everyone to get out, but a barrier appeared in front of the door, blocking everyone escape route.

"Well, this is interesting." Nightmare Moon said. "What are these creatures?"

"Why they're Heartless your majesty." Came a very familiar voice. A moment later, a dog wearing blue and red armor with massive fists and a big mouth came out of the corner of the room, looking up to Nightmare Moon. "These creatures and I are here to serve you in your return to power."

"Pete!" Spyro said, making him flinch. "I should have known it was you!"

"You!?" Pete said, shocked to see Spyro, instantly getting angry. "Oh, what are you doing here you royal pain in my side?"

"I would ask the same of you Pete." Spyro said, smiling while he talked. "I'm guessing Maleficent is getting desperate if she's sending you to invade a peaceful world like this."

"Bah, I don't have time to throw down with the likes of you." Pete then snapped and all the Heartless put Spyro in their sights. "Start with the princesses pupil. And see if you can take down the prince while you're at it."

The heartless began moving forward Twilight, much to her horror as she wanted to run and flee, but her body was unresponsive as she trembled in fear as they got closer. A second later, a shadow leapt up to attack Twilight and she closed her eyes, awaiting her demise, but felt nothing for a second, so she opened one of her eyes and saw the monster was stuck in mid air, but a second later, it evaporated in a cloud of dark smoke. She then saw Spyro standing in front of her with his back to her, but at his side was his Keyblade, held to his side by his magic on its handle. She couldn't stop starring at the giant key and could feel some kind of magic in it that was not of their world and the same could be said for Nightmare Moon as she could also sense the magic in it and was immediately intrigued by it, but more so by the stallion as he engaged the Heartless.

He swung and slashed at the heartless, twisting and turning in the air while also blocking and dodging attacks from the Heartless. But Pete was getting annoyed as Spyro was making minced meat out of his Heartless and snapped his finger again. As Spyro was finishing up the last of the Heartless soldiers, Apple Bloom popped her head out from underneath the table along with a while unicorn filly with a pink and lavender mane and an orange Pegasi filly with a purple mane. The three fillies came out from hiding, but got immediately snatched up by three Air Soldiers, screaming as they were being kidnapped.

"Apple Bloom!" Spyro shouted, watching a the Heartless threw them into a small cage, which a moment later was revealed to be a Prison Keeper. "Let them go now!"

"Aw what's a matter?" Pete asked. "Can't stand seeing a few pipsqueaks get caged up, chump?"

"I said let them go!" Spyro said, feeling his anger rise inside of him. "So help me, if you don't I'll-"

"I think not." Pete replied. "You see, Sora faced this thing before and defeated it because it's power sources were too weak an erratic. But these fillies..." He snapped his finger and the Prison Keeper grabbed the cage, lifting it above its head and shook it, making Apple Bloom fall into its mouth, devouring her, much to everyone's horror. A moment later, its color changed from a dark blue to yellow and pink as it flexed its muscles. "You see, their magic is a bit more stable and is much stronger than what Lock, Shock, and Barrel had."

Applejack was in grief as she witnessed her sister get eaten, but Spyro, he was just furious as the sister of his friend was being used to power that thing up. When. He looked up, Pete saw that his eyes were yellow and red, immediately backing up as he knew what that meant.

"Well, I'll leave the prince to you." He said to the Heartless. "I have other plans in store."

He then fled out from the back while Nightmare Moon just watched the entire thing unfold, wondering what the defiant pony would do, but caught a look at his eyes, seeing they were different than before. Spyro on the other hand was looking at the Prison Keeper, hatred in his eyes, walking towards it as it just got ready to fight, but as it threw the first punch, Spyro blocked the punch, grabbing its hand and ripped it off, making it holler in agony and dark magic flowed out of the wound, causing it to back away in fear and shaking in terror.

"You're gonna pay for that." Spyro said, his voice sounding darker and filled with absolute rage. "You will know what it really means to feel fear you house of horror reject."

A dome of light surrounded him, making everyone gasp as this is something they never saw, but Rainbow Dash just cheered and hollered as she knew what this was. A moment later, the dome shattered and Rainbow Dash half expected Storming Wisdom, but instead a pillar of fire shot up, an outline of a dragon formed and roared, sending a shockwave through the building as Spyro came out. Instead of the Wisdom Drive, his jacket was completely red with black and yellow gems on it, the pattern on the jacket was orange flames as armor lined his legs and the rim of his wing, a fire pattern on the outside of the wings. He also had two Keyblades next to him, one of them was the Decisive Pumpkin while the other was the Circle of Life, but they were floating on their own and spinning slowly as he stood his ground. Everyone was all surprised to see his transformation, but a second later cheered as Rainbow Dash had told everyone how he saved her and about his transformation, thinking this was it.

But Rainbow Dash and Applejack knew that this was completely different as what he showed them in his book was Storming Wisdom, not this form as it was new to them. Without a moments hesitation, he leapt into the air and started slashing at the Heartless and it tried to get away, but he spun around, creating a vortex that caught it and the three Air Soldiers that foal napped the fillies. As he spun faster, flames shot out of his body and ignited the Air Soldiers, destroying them as three pink hearts flew up and disappeared. But the Prison Keeper wasn't as fortunate as it was still standing and was looking beat up as Spyro continued his onslaught until he nailed it in the stomach, forcing it to spit out Apple Bloom and catching her before she'd fall back into the cage.

"You ok there Apple Bloom?" Spyro asked, calming down as his eyes turned back to purple.

"Yeah, Ah think so." Apple Bloom replied, rubbing her head. "But why are ya red and why is it so hot?"

Spyro didn't answer as he just hugged Apple Bloom tightly as he floated down and back onto the ground. As soon as they landed, Spyro released Apple Bloom, letting her run back to her sister to avoid getting captured again while Spyro turned his attention back to the Heartless as it was getting ready to eat another filly, lifting the cage and shaking, but the fillies were hanging on, trying to keep from being its next meal.

"Oh no you don't!" Spyro shouted. He turned both of his hooves on his forelegs into dragon paws, grabbing the Keyblades.

Twilight was shocked to see his hooves turn into dragon paws, but was amazed by his combat prowess and by his magic as he fought, every move performed perfectly as if he was practicing this for years. A moment later, Spyro threw the Devious Pumpkin and smacked the Heartless in the head, dazing it enough to let go of the cage while throwing the Circle of Life, cutting the cage off and dropping it to its side.

"Get out of there! Run!" Spyro shouted as the cage door opened, allowing the two fillies to run for their lives. He then returned his attention to the Prison Keeper and saw the dark energy come out of where the cage use to be, wallowing and screeching in pain. "So, you're hungry huh?" He then flew into the air as flames surrounded his wings and two orbs of fire appeared in his paws, bringing them together to make a larger one. "Well here's something spicy for you! Torrent of Flame!"

The flames from his wings fused with the fireball, sending a torrent of super heated fire at the heartless, going into its mouth and swallowing it. At first, nothing seemed to happen as it just took the attack, but a moment later, it held its mid section in pain as flames shot out of it, it's arm, and all cross its body until it burst into a massive fire ball, releasing a massive blue and pink heart into the air. When the fight was over, the barrier in front of the door disappeared, opening the door for everyone to leave. As Spyro set down, he reverted back to his original form, returning his paws back to hooves and looked to the crowd, who were cheering and applauding him for saving them, which he smiled and took a bow, enjoying the spot light. But he then turned back to face Nightmare Moon, but she was gone and no where to be seen.

"Everyone alright?" He got his answer when they all crowded around him, praising him and throwing him into the air before setting him down. "Guess I can take that as a yes."

"When in tarnation were ya gonna tell us ya'll had more of those things?" Applejack asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Forget that!" Rainbow Dash said. "That was totally wicked! I was expecting Storming Wisdom, but that one was even cooler than the last one."

"No kidding!" Pinkie said, bouncing up and down. "I mean, did you guys see him beat all them monsters. He was like all, POW, POW, SLASH, SLICE! It was the greatest thing I have ever seen! WOOOOH!"

"Where'd Nightmare Moon go?" Spyro asked, scarring everyone, then looking into the crowd for Twilight. "Where's Twilight Sparkle?"

Back at the Golden oak Library, Twilight was frantically looking through all the shelves trying to find something specific that could help her defeat Nightmare Moon. But what had her freaked out the most was Spyro as his magic was not of Equestrian Origin. Transformations, telekinetic manipulation without an aura, weapons of unknown origin, even his ability to change parts of his body, she knew he was strange, but never thought that he'd be that strange. However, she didn't have time to dwell on his magic as there was a crisis happening in Equestria and she needed to fix it.

"Oh, what is going on?" She asked herself. "Those creatures, Spyro's magic, his transformation, that walking, talking dog? That wasn't a Diamond Dog and Spyro is not a normal hybrid. What is going on?"

"Twilight, you in there?" Spyro asked, walking in to see her frantically looking for something. "Oh good, you're ok. I was-"

He was then surrounded by Twilights aura and flung into the bookshelves in front of her, glaring at him as though he was a monster.

"Ok you, start talking!" She said, anger in her voice, yet fearful. "Who are you? What were those things? What was the giant dog thing? You seem to know him, do you work for him? Are you a spy? TALK!"

She slammed him into the bookshelf again, trying to get some answer out of him, but her tail was suddenly pulled and broke her concentration, dropping Spyro and getting pulled away from him. They both looked to the entrance of the library and saw Applejack with the rest of their friends there, Twilights tail in her mouth, and spat it out to talk.

'"Now hold on their Sugarcube." She said. "Ah've been workin and living with Spyro for most of this week and know he isn't a bad guy. If he was, he'd have just harmed anypony he'd like. But all he's been was kind and a good friend." She then walked over to Spyro and helped him u[p, but backed away from him to rejoin her friends. "But yer right about one thing Twilight. He seems to know more than he's letting on."

"But his magic isn't natural!" Twilight exclaimed. "It's not anything I've seen or ever heard of. Not to mention he seemed to know that dog thing and his eyes. They were purple before, but they were yellow and red when he fought that thing. He's dangerous!"

"Hey back off!" Rainbow Dash said. "He might not be like us, but he saved our flanks back there. Plus, he saved those fillies."

"How do we know that it wasn't a set up!?" Twilight argued. "They could have planned that to make him out as a hero and then he'd stab us in the back!"

"Can't ya hear yerself there Twilight!?" Applejack shouted. "He risked his life to save mah little sister when he wouldn't have."

"I concur." Rarity said. "He also saved Sweetie Belle from that thing too. That's enough for me!"

"Then you're all so gullible!" Twilight shouted.

An argument erupted between the four mares as Pinkie and Fluttershy just stood back to let it all unfold, but Spyro had enough of the fighting and stood up on his hind legs, using his forelegs, he lifted the four mares up with the Force and separated them, ending the argument and the bickering, putting all eyes on him.

"Will you four please stop fighting!" Spyro shouted, his eyes returning to the yellow they were before, shocking everyone. "You want the truth, fine! I'll tell you everything!"

Everyone was staring at the enraged Spyro, never seeing this side of him when they first met. As he sensed their fear, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes, lowering the four arguing mares back onto the floor. When he opened his eyes, they were back to being purple, setting back down on all fours and exhaling.

"Those things you saw tonight are called the Heartless." Spyro said. "They are creatures born from the darkness within everyone's heart. Should one succumb to its temptations or be killed by a heartless, they take your heart and you get turned into one."

The tension in the room grew as he talked about them, mares color draining as he said that, Fluttershy covering her chest after hearing they'd take their hearts.

"And that obese mutt is known as Pete." Spyro continued. "He's been a thorn in my side for over two years. He and his mistress Maleficent control the Heartless in order to take over all of the worlds."

"Worlds?" Applejack asked. "What ya'll talking about worlds? Ya mean kingdoms right?"

He knew he was going be breaking a lot of rules by saying it, but if he was gonna regain their trust in hem, he needed to break a few rules to get anywhere. He took a deep breath and exhaled, working up the courage to talk.

"Pete is from another world." Spyro said. "Just like I am."

This revelation made everyone's jaws drop as they stared at him, not believing he was from another world.

"You're from another world!?" Twilight asked, shocked.

"Yes, I am." Spyro replied. "My master sent me here to complete my training and to protect it from the darkness that threatens to swallow it. And now it seems like this world is in greater peril than it was previously now that the Heartless are here. And wherever they go, they're sure to draw in the Nobodies too."

"N-n-nobodies?" Fluttershy asked, shivering as she did. "W-what are they?"

"Shells of their former selves." Spyro answered. "Just like when a Heartless is created when a heart is taken, Nobodies are also born if the heart is strong enough. They are creatures that should never exist as they are the empty husks of what they were before. Being without a heart."

"And Kingdom hearts? Was that a lie?" Applejack asked.

"No AJ, what I told you was the truth." Spyro replied. "Albeit, I had to bend it a little to fit some parts of the story, but Kingdom Hearts is real. It is a world that is also the heart of all world, bringing them light that will never be snuffed out. And so are the dangers that lie behind its door, the Princesses of Heart, and the Prince of Light and Darkness."

"The Prince of what?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"The Prince of Light and Darkness." Spyro replied. "A being who has the power to control light and darkness all around him and in the hearts of others. Power of creation and destruction. Life and death, push and pull, water and fire. He is the one who balances everything."

Everyone was listening to everything he said, some not believing a word he is saying while others were more confused than they were before and everything he was saying was only making their confusion worse. But Twilight was not convinced by his story and still believed he was dangerous and shouldn't be trusted.

"And the Heartless you saw were some of the basic kinds that I have faced many times." Spyro continued. "Shadows are weak, but powerful in large groups. Soldiers are armored and they are strong, but are still very weak. And Air Soldiers, they're the basic Air Force whose kick is worse than their bark."

"And that big bag ghost thing?" Twilight asked, leering at him. "Was that their basic infantry?"

"Not exactly." Spyro replied. "It's called a Prison Keeper. It's much more powerful than the rest and it's far more dangerous. It captures and holds its victims in its cage to use later. When he does use them, he devours them, drawing power for their hearts to make itself stronger. Like Apple Bloom for example, it used her heart to make itself physically stronger."

"And Sweetie Belle?" Rarity asked, getting very worried. "What would have happened if it ate her?"

"My guess is it would be more adept to the use of magic." Spyro answered. "However, it can't use all its victims at once. Otherwise it would destroy itself from an overload of magic. So to use a different power, it would spit out whoever it ate first and then eat another for something else."

"But that still doesn't explain your eyes and that form you used when fighting that thing." Twilight said. "What was that and why were your eyes yellow? Does that happen when you change?"

Spyro shook his head, letting her know it's not part of his transformation.

"That form is one of many I use in battle." Spyro replied. "It's called a Drive form. Rainbow Dash saw me use one before and knows what I'm talking about."

"Heck yeah I do!" Rainbow Dash said. "What I saw was called Storming Wisdom and is makes him more powerful with his magic and lets him shoot lightning out of his Keyblade, his hooves, wings, he can even shoot it out of his mouth like a dragon. It was so awesome!"

"But what about this new one?" Applejack asked. "It seemed like you were controlling fire instead of lightning."

"That was a different one." Spyro answered. "It's called Inferno Master. It combines magic and physical combat, releasing a force of absolute destruction on my enemies. Combines with the fire element, fire magic is twice if not three times more effective and lethal to my enemies while my friends don't even get burned."

The mares looked at each other, glad to hear that he can control who gets hurt by his attacks, but Twilight wasn't satisfied as he still hadn't answer her other question.

"And the eyes?" Twilight asked. "Why do they change to yellow?"

"That's when I get angry." Spyro replied, confusing Twilight. "I hold a lot more power than just what you see or saw now. I hold an ancient power called the Force. It's a power that resides in everything, but only a few have a natural talent to wield it as it takes patience and dedication to learn. There are two sides to it; a light and a dark. When I let anger take over and feel my hatred flow, it changes the color of my eyes to yellow and red, known as Sith eyes.'

"I knew it!" She shouted, getting into his personal space. "You are dangerous!"

"Settle down Sugarcube." Applejack said, pulling her tail again to let Spyro have some space. "So is that why you try not to get angry? Because of that?"

"Well, yes and no." Spyro replied, making everyone groan. "Yes, because when I get angry, my eyes change color and I become stronger, but no as it's not the only reason I try not to get angry as I hold light and darkness in me.'

This perked everyone's ears up when he said that, wondering why he would say something like that. he then walked up to Twilight, who backed away from him, still convinced he was an enemy. He reached out his hoof, letting her know he wanted her to take it, but she refused, shaking her head.

"Twilight, I am not your enemy." Spyro said. "But your fear is clouding your judgement, making you jump to conclusions that you should not jump to. I want to show you I mean you no harm. Please, trust me."

He kept his hoof held out, hoping she would take it, but she kept her distance for a little bit, but looked to Applejack, who nodded her head, letting her know he can be trusted. She returned her gaze to Spyro, she looked at his hoof, still suspicious of him, but decided to get it over with and took his hoof. At first she thought he was gonna do something that would hurt her, but felt nothing. She looked at him, expecting him to say something, but when she did, she saw his eyes glow purple and got spooked. She was about to pull her hoof away, but her vision faded, plunging her into darkness and felt herself fall into the abyss, wanting to scream, but couldn't make a sound as she did fall. A moment later, she was on the ground, great full to be on solid ground again, but saw that she was on a stain glass window on a platform. It was the same one that Spyro was on when he was tested, but Twilight was freaking out as she was somewhere unfamiliar.

"Spyro you rat!" She shouted. "Let me out of here!"

There was no response, making her think she was trapped somewhere only he knew, tricking her into trusting him. A second later, a light flashed behind her and she turned around, finding a door and the Keyblade over it. Believing it to be a way out, she ran towards it and opened it, blinded by light as it slowly opened, drowning the whole room in it. When the light faded, she found herself in the center of another room, except this one was more of a bedroom with pictures on the wall, wall paper with dragons on it, toys scattered on the floor, books, strange devices, and three statues on the farthest Sid of the room.

"What is this place?" She asked, approaching the dresser. On top of it was a photo album and opened it to see what was inside. She was shocked to see a human version of Spyro, except he had brown hair instead of a gold and purple mane and he had on some black pants. And he was standing in front of a door way and next to him was two teenage boys, all smiling and holding foam swords. "Is that Spyro? If so, who are the other two?'

She flipped the pages one after another, seeing photos of Spyro having fun, laughing, and enjoying himself with the strange being in the photos, but when she got to a certain section, she froze. In the photo she saw, Spyro was in it, but in pony form along with Pinkie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, even Fluttershy, smiling in front of a barn.

"Must be from when Pinkie threw him a party." Twilight said, continuing to flip through the pages, seeing photo after photo of them having fun. Twilight was confused to why he would leave this out, but when she turned to the last page, she blushed as it was when he and her held hooves, but they both looked happy. "Why's this in here? Who took it?"

She then suddenly felt something pang in her heart, putting her hoof over it as if there was something trying to tell her, but couldn't hear it. A moment later, another flash of light appeared to her right, looking over to find another door, but this one was different as instead of a Keyblade, there was herself and the other five on the door, opening to reveal more blinding light. She covered her eyes to block out the light and opened them when the light was gone, revealing that she was on another platform, but this time it was Spyro in his pony form with his friends and Twilight in the background, all smiling and happy as can be. Before she could ask, the platform moved and multiple screens of memories flew past her, showing his adventures, his fights, losses, struggles, and even the fun times he had.

She watched as everything that has happened in his life passed her like she was on a train, taking in everything she saw, but a memory of when Princess Celestia visited him caught her attention as he bowed before he and she bowed back, making her gasp as the princess wouldn't usually bow to anyone. This memory was left her with more questions than answers, but another daughter her attention when she watched him fight that guy, Pete, in another world, fighting to protect the world that was invaded. She then saw an image of when she was attacked by a Heartless, about to be killed, but Spyro rushed past and destroyed it with his Keyblade and put his focus on the remainder, protecting everyone. Her heart felt lighter as she finally realized that he wasn't her enemy at all and was only trying to help them out, protecting them from a threat that was far worse than anything else they faced.

As the last of the memories passed her, she looked outward in the direction she was going, seeing another platform dead ahead covered in a dome of light with dark clouds swirling around it. As the platform she was on stopped, she got off and walked towards the dome, putting her hoof on it to touch the light, but it went through, letting her stumble onto the ground, falling face first onto the floor. She grumbled for a second, but looked up to see a massive throne in front of her with an Angel wing on her left side with a demon wing on her right. Next to the throne were two dragons, one who was white with blue eyes and gold armor on and the other was a black dragon with red eyes and silver armor. Both of them starred at her as she approached, gauging if she was a threat as she did.

When she got closer, she also saw two human figures standing on either side of the throne, one wearing white robes with kind and calm brown eyes while the other wore black robes and whose eyes were yellow and red, both of which watched as she approached. When she was close enough, she saw Spyro, who was wearing a black and white jacket like what Xemnas wore at the end of Kingdom hearts 2, but it was zipped up at the chest and stomach and the main color of the coat was black with white patterns and armor platting that looked to be sturdier than most metals. Upon his head was a gold circlet with a dragon pattern along the rim with white and black diamonds on it. He looked down at her, seeing her approach and smiled, holding out his hand for her to take, letting the two connect and a bright light shine between them.

"What the hay is going on!?" Rainbow Dash asked. Both Twilight and Spyro's eyes were glowing purple and both were frozen in place, not moving an inch as if they were in a trance. "Why are Spyro's and Twilights eyes glowing?"

"Maybe they're sharing their thought with each other?" Pinkie said. "Oh, oh, or maybe Spyro is brainwashing her to like him? And maybe he gonna do the same to us and make us do some silly dances!?"

The others just shook their head, ignoring her crazy ramblings and tried to figure out why Spyro would want to shake hooves with Twilight only to put both her and himself into a trance. Everyone was getting worried and thought that they would be stuck like that forever, but a minute later, both their eyes returned to normal, relieved that they were back to normal. The girls were glad that they were ok, but watched as Spyro fell to the ground, exhaustion kicking in as his eyes glassed over.

"Spyro!" Twilight shouted, catching him with her aura. The mares ran towards the unconscious hybrid, worried for him as he wasn't responding to them.

"What the hay is wrong with him?" Rarity asked. "Why did he just pass out?"

"I don't know." Twilight said. "But when we took each other's hoof, he used some kind of magic to show me his memories."

"His memories?" Rainbow Dash asked. "What the hay are you on about?"

"Ooh, ooh, maybe he wanted to prove to Twilight he was somepony she could trust." Pinkie suggested. "Maybe doing that might have caused him to use too much magic and pass out from exhaustion."

As soon as she suggested it, Spyro groaned, making the girls attention return to their unconscious friend as he was stirring awake. As he woke up, six pairs of eyes were all on him, worried about him.

"Hey girls, what's going on?" He asked, getting up slowly. Applejack and Twilight helped him up, but Twilight stayed close enough to where if he falls down again, ready to pick him up.

"Ok mister, what was that?" Rainbow Dash asked. "The two of you had glowing eyes and were starring into each other like you were in a trance or something?"

"It's kind of complicated." Spyro replied. "Let's just say she got a better understanding of who I am on the inside."

"What!?" Rainbow Dash said. "Buddy I'm gonna need a better explanation than that."

"It's true Rainbow Dash." Twilight said. "When our hooves connected, it was like I was seeing all of Spyro's memories. Who he was, what he went through, everything."

Everyone was dead silent as they waited for someone to break the silence, but Spyro was the one to walk up to them, although shakily and break the silence. So he started explaining everything about his adventures and about his task of protecting the worlds from the Heartless and explain what their goal was. He also took time to talk about the magic in the Keyblade and how it works when it is to be used to fight them off in order to protect everything and everyone who lives in all the worlds. After his explanation, the tension in the room decreased and everyone started to relax a bit more.

"So, the Keyblade is the only weapon that can destroy the Heartless?" Twilight asked, intrigued by the weapon as he called it again.

"That's correct." Spyro answered. "It's the one weapon they fear more than anything else. However, there are exceptions when someone has strong enough magic and conviction to be able to fight them, but those I am afraid are rare as the heart will succumb to fear easily."

"But I managed to stomp on a few of them." Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

"Yeah, she told us all about it too." Pinkie said. "She was all WHOOSH, SLAM, SMACK, BANG."

"Yes, she did destroy a few of them." Spyro said. "But she got lucky."

As soon as he said it, Rainbow Dash leered at him, telling him it wasn't luck that she helped him out.

"Rainbow Dash used the Heartless themselves to destroy more Heartless." Spyro continued. "It's a good strategy yes, but ill advised as it will give the enemy a chance to attack you directly.'

"S-so what should we do?" Fluttershy asked.

"I don't know." Spyro replied. "The Heartless I can handle, but Nightmare Moon might be another story. In my weakened state, I doubt I could last too long against her.'

"What we need is the Elements of Harmony." Twilight said.

"The what?" Applejack asked.

"The Elements of Harmony were once used against Nightmare moon in the past." Twilight answered. "With them, the princess managed to banish her to the moon. With them, we should be able to do that again. But I don't know where they are."

"The Elements of Harmony: A reference guide." Pinkie said, immediately getting push away by Twilight.

"How in the world did you find it?" Twilight asked.

"It was under 'E.'" Pinkie answered, hoping along.

Twilight just shook her head, ignoring Pinkie and pulled it out with her magic, bringing it over to Spyro so he could see it. As she handed it to Spyro, he opened it to read, but his vision started to blur and he groaned, still feeling the after effects from when he used his magic earlier. Twilight noticed this and put the book aside, returning to his side.

"You ok?" She asked. "Are you still weak from earlier?"

"Yeah, kinda am." Spyro replied. "Guess using that spell takes more out of you than the Drives do when doing a finale."

"A what and a what now?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"It's when you have built up enough energy to release a massive finishing attack." Spyro explained. "That's why I passed out when I used Storming Wisdom. Whenever I dismiss it or when it runs out of energy, there are no draining effects, but when I do, oh boy, I am out for hours."

"Yeah, kinda figured that when Rainbow Dash brought ya back to us unconscious." Applejack said. "But why did you pass out this time since you didn't use a finale?"

Spyro looked down at his hooves, trying to come up with the right answer, but couldn't think of anything good. Instead, he pulled out a book from his book bag and pulled out the first book he started studying on before being put into a dog fight, flipping the pages until he could find the right spell. However, his vision was still blurry and decided to give it to Twilight so she could read it for him. As she took it with her aura, she looked into the books pages, seeing the spell he used on her and gasped, finding it to be more advanced than any magic that she has read in any book let alone heard of.

"Journey of the Heart." Twilight read. "A spell that allows the caster to journey into the heart of another person in order to find the answers I seek as a person can lie, but the heart cannot. All I would need to do is make physical contact with whoever I wish, and open my heart to their so that I may walk through their heart, find the answers I seek, and understand whoever I am physically touching. However, the same can be said both ways as it grants whoever I touch access to my heart and they will understand me and my life, my struggles, and my pain."

Everyone looked to Spyro, surprised that he had such a spell in his possession, but Twilight got curious and flipped some more of the pages to see what else he had in the tome he passed to her. With each page that she flips, she sees more and more spells, some filled with the power of light, the others full of darkness, but everything she looked, her curiosity and her thirst to know more grew stronger until Spyro took the book from her.

"I think that's enough for you." Spyro said, which she reached for the book to read more, but he put it back into his bag, disappointing her. "you can explore other worldly magics later my little bookworm. Right now, we have a world to save." He turned his attention back to Twilight, making her the point of focus. "What does the reference guide say about the elements twilight?"

Twilight took the book from the side table she placed it on and opened the cover to the page, flipping to the entry about the Elements of Harmony. "Let me see... 'There are six elements of Harmony, however only five of them are known: Honesty, Kindness, laughter, Generosity, and Loyalty. The sixth is a mystery as it will only appear when a spark is emitted the other five are together. The last known location of the Elements of Harmony now lie in wait is in the ancient castle of the two sisters, the Everfree Forest.'"

As soon as Twilight spoke the name of the castles location, all the girls gasped in horror as it was that last place they were expecting the elements to be in all of Equestria. The girls shook in fear while Spyro, who knew about the ancient forest, just looked at them in confusion as he still did not understand why they were afraid of it. They walked to the door of the library as they were getting ready to leave, but Spyro stumbled a bit, still weak from the spell he used as it was still a very advanced spell and he was still discovering his limits. Fluttershy seemed to have noticed this and rushed to his side, supporting him as he was about to fall, getting everyone's attention.

"Ya'll ok there Sugarcube?" Applejack asked. "Ya look like yer about to fall over."

"I'll be ok." Spyro responded, reaching into his bag and pulling out a gold bottle. He tossed it up and golden powder was released from it, absorbing into his coat, revitalizing him. "That's better."

He then got off of Fluttershy's shoulder and managed to walk on his own, fully restored from the Elixer and ready for a fight.

"You girls stay here." Spyro said. "I'll go get them."

"No way Spyro, I'm going with you." Twilight said, stepping forward. "You don't know where to go. And what will happen if you pass out again? It's obvious you don't fully know your limits with your magic."

"And I'm also going." Rainbow Dash said, stepping up. "You might need somepony fast and brave."

"Well you cover at least one of those categories." Spyro said, making Rainbow Dash cross her forelegs.

"I'll also go." Pinkie said bouncing happily. "This is gonna be fun!"

"As shall I." Rarity said, stepping forward, brushing her mane away from her eyes. "Besides, I owe you for saving my little sister."

He then looked to Fluttershy, seeing how nervous she was and believed she was gonna stay behind, being the smart one out of the group, but she took a deep breath and walked up next to Spyro, trying to be confident.

"I-I'm going to." She said, stunning Spyro. "T-that is, if it's ok with everypony else."

"We're all going Sugarcube." Applejack said. "We don't plan on abandoning our friends. No matter what they say."

Spyro couldn't believe that the six mares in front of him were really willing to put their lives on the line, willing to be attacked by Heartless, creatures that, may live in the Everfree, and even so far as to fight Nightmare Moon if it came down to it. He could feel his heart racing, fearing for the safety of his new friends and wanted to put his hoof down, tell them that he was going without them for their safety, and even so far as to tie them up if need be. He was ready to do such to keep them from following him, but then remembered what the princess said about six being the key to saving her sister and looked at his new friends, thinking that they must be who the princess was talking about.

"Alright." Spyro said, giving in. "But first I need to stop by Sweet Apple Acres and get a few things. Let's meet up at the mouth of the Everfree Forest in one hour, then, we'll go in together. Make sure you get what you need because once we go in, there's no turning back."

Everyone nodded and left the Golden Oak Library, leaving Twilight alone with her books and her thoughts. Everyone split up after leaving the library to get what they might need while Spyro and Applejack walked back to the farm, heading straight for the farm house. He could sense that Applejack was feeling uneasy about everything and could sense her fear grow as she kept thinking about everything that has happened and about what she was just told not too long ago. Without even thinking, he wrapped his wing around her barrel, calming her down a bit as they walked, but there was still some tension within her, even though she put on a brave face.

"Ah wanted to thank you for saving Apple Bloom." Applejack said. "Ya'll are truly a good friend."

"It was nothing." Spyro said, pulling her closer to him, which seemed to make her blush. "Even though I haven't been here very long, I think of her as the little sister I never had."

"Really?" Applejack asked. "Ya don't have any siblings?"

"No. No I don't." Spyro replied. "I'm an only child. I never got to have the pleasure of having a sibling at all. Some say that it's a burden to have siblings. But I think they don't realize how lucky they are to have them until it's too late."

Soon, their barrels were touching as they got very close and Applejack could feel the warmth coming from him as well as his heart beat, finding herself feeling something she couldn't explain as her heart was beating fast, her face getting redder and could feel sweat coming from her brow as they walked. A few minutes later, they reached the farm house, Spyro removed his wing, much to Applejacks dismay, and opened the door, immediately hearing Winona barking as she along with Big Mac and Apple Bloom came running.

"Spyro!" She shouted, running up and hugging his leg, tears flowing down her cheeks. "Thank you, thank you, thank you for saving me from that thing! I was so 'hic' so scared."

"Hey, it's ok Apple Bloom." Spyro said, patting her head. "Everything will be fine."

"But how in the heck can you be sure about that?" Granny Smith asked, walking towards them with creaking bones. "How ya'll gonna promise that everything is gonna be alright when that confounded little cry baby is keeping the sun from coming up?"

"Because we found a way to beat her." Spyro replied, everyone looking at him. "We found a way to defeat her and restore the day. But there is a problem."

Applejack walked in a bit later, stopping next to him.

"Ya see, the only way to beat Nightmare moon is with the Elements of Harmony." Applejack said. "And they're in the princess's old castle in the Everfree."

The Apple family gasped when they heard where the elements were, everyone got nervous and knew what Applejack was gonna say, but Granny Smith walked up, immediately biting down on Applejacks mane, dragging her into the living room. While they seemed to be arguing, Big Mac walked up to Spyro and stood next to him, watching as Applejack and Granny Smith were arguing.

"Guess she's not happy about this." Spyro said, looking to the large red stallion.

"Yep." Mac replied.

"And I guess she's trying to convince her not to go." Spyro said.

"Yep." Mac replied.

A moment later, Granny Smith walked towards Spyro while AJ went up the stairs to, possibly her room to maybe get something. A second later, Granny Smith pulled Spyro's head down to look him dead in the eyes, noting her angry she looked as she was giving him a death stare while Big Mac and Apple Bloom backed away from them, not wanting anything to do with their grandmothers wrath.

"Ye better take very good care of my little Applejack!" She said, warning him to protect her. "If Ah so much as see a scratch on her, Ah'll skin ya and make a rug out of yer scaly hide. Ya hear me?!"

Spyro wasn't easily scared when it came to battle, but when it came to a grandmother trying to protect her grandchildren, that's when his courage went out the window and took a hike. He nodded his head quickly, letting her know that he understood everything and was released from her death hold, moving back into the living room. He then looked to Big Mac and shrugged his shoulders, clearly not wanting to be involved with any of this, which was fine by him as the fewer innocent people, or ponies in this case, there were, the better. he then went up the stares and to the guest room, where he set up his alchemy set and the synthesis set as he collected a lot of materials from the Heartless and a lot of different ingredients he collected before everything turned sour. As he turned the burner on and started to synthesis everything he needed, he got his tablet out and put it on the Magic Keyboard to make sure it stayed up right, turning his hooves into dragon paws, he started typing in a few things before the screen started getting static.

"Alright, let's see if I can get a signal." Spyro said, typing in a few more sequences to get something. But the more he tried, the more static he got, regretting not getting the antenna from the ship while he could. A minute later, he got something as an image of Master Yen Sid popped up for a second, but was lost when the static hit again. "Oh come on, come on!"

A little bit later, the image on the screen started to clear up as Master Yen Sid started to come into focus, clearing up until there was no static whatsoever.

"Master Yen Sid." Spyro said. "It's good to see you again sir."

"And it's good to see you as well young prince." Master yen Sid said. "I'm pleased that you managed to finally get a signal where you're at. otherwise I would have needed to send Sora to check on you as he was worried about you."

Just as he said it, Sora appeared in front of Yen Sid, smiling when he saw him.

"Spyro, you're alive!" He said, smiling his clownish smile. "Looking good for some kind of dragon looking thing."

"Good to see you too Sora." Spyro replied. "How are you holding up without me? Getting bored without me?"

"Nah, never a dull moment here." Sora said, putting his hands behind his head. "A few Heartless here and there, but everything has been pretty calm. How about you? having fun over there?"

"Actually I am. And I need to report that we've got trouble here." Spyro said, Getting everyone's attention. "Pete is here and he has brought a whole mess of Heartless with him."

"What?" Sora said, almost falling down. "Are you serious? There are Heartless there?"

"Yes, and it seems like there is also another evil here that just returned." Spyro said. "Her name is Nightmare Moon and she is the sister of this land. Her own jealousy caused her to fall to darkness. However, I could sense there was still some light left in her heart and believe I can save her. I just need to figure out how."

"The princes of the past hold many answers Spyro." Yen Sid said. "Consult the books and you might find a way to do so."

He looked to his bag and remembered that the princes did have a lot of spells that can help him, but he doubted that they held all the answers as he didn't know if they had to deal with this.

"Is there anything else that is on your mind?" Yen Sid asked. "Anything that you might need?"

"Yeah, there is one thing." Spyro replied. "You see, my ship was severely damaged by an erupting nebula, exploding as soon as it reached this world's atmosphere. Is there a way you can send me a new ship? Just in case you need an extra set of hooves to help out?"

Sora laughed when Spyro said hooves instead of hands, face smacking himself as he knew he wasn't gonna live that down for a while.

"I shall see what I can do." Yen Sid replied. "Though it will not be easy getting a new ship to you as Gummi Ships are hard to come by."

"It doesn't matter what you do sir." Spyro said. "Send me a whole garage if you must, I need to get a new ship. If there is a serious emergency, you're gonna need every key you can get."

Master yen Sid nodded, ending the transmission as the Synthesizer was finishing up making the last of the potions and elixirs he needed while the alchemy set finished with the Ethers he needed as well. He closed his tablet and walked over, putting everything into his bag and walked out of his room and waiting for him at the front door. As he came down, Big Mac gave her a hug like it was the last time they were gonna see each other while Apple Bloom was waiting by the door, wiping tears from her eyes.

"Everything is ready." Spyro said, getting their attention. "You sure you want to do this AJ? This is gonna be dangerous and you might get hurt. I don't wanna watch another friend-"

He stopped himself from finishing his sentence, silencing himself as he didn't want to remember that day as it was one he wanted to forget.

"Ah'm sorry, what'd ya say?" Applejack asked, wanting to know what he was going to say.

"It's nothing." Spyro replied, not wanting to talk about it anymore. "We better get moving. We got a world to save."

Applejack gave her family one more hug for good luck and both she and Spyro left the house, heading straight for the Everfree to meet up with their friends to save their home and, hopefully, save the princesses sister.
