B'Elanna heard her office computer going off. She just came back from a meeting with the Head of Engineering. She put her PADD down and answered the call. She saw her husband's agent on screen. "What is going on, Ripley?" B'Elanna asked.

Ripley looked around him before looking at B'Elanna. "You haven't heard from Tom?"

B'Elanna's heart dropped. "No, he was supposed to call four days ago. You haven't heard from him."

"No, he had the morning to himself, and he was to meet me at the station for his interview," Ripley said. "I have been to his hotel room, and I didn't see anyone there."

B'Elanna took a breath. That meant the children were with him. "Was their stuff there?" She asked. She didn't think that Tom would leave her and take the children with him.

Ripley nodded. "All their bags, clothes, and PADDs were there."

"Did you contact the local authorities?" B'Elanna asked.

Ripley nodded. "At first, they were in it but after I showed them a picture of Tom and the kids, they changed their tune and decided not to help. They know who took your family. They kicked me out of the station and told me to go home. I thought it best to contact you."

B'Elanna knew he made the right decision. "Thank you, if you can get off that planet and go to the nearest star base," Ripley nodded. "I don't need anything to happen to you. Your husband will not be happy with me," Ripley gave a small smile.

He nodded. "I don't want to leave Tom and the kids."

"Don't worry about them. I know who to call," B'Elanna had a plan forming in her head. She needed to contact someone. Ripley nodded and they hung up.

B'Elanna gathered her PADD and walked out of her office. She saw her assistant there. "Cancel all my appointments for the next couple of weeks. I will be out of town." Her assistant nodded.

B'Elanna walked into Starfleet Command and went to the floor that she needed. She saw the ensign that was assigned to the person she needed. "Is she in?" B'Elanna asked.

"Yes, but she told me not to have anyone bother her," The ensign didn't like the look on B'Elanna's face.

"Tell her Commander B'Elanna Torres is here to see her," B'Elanna crossed her arms.

The ensign nodded and went into the office at the end of the hall. B'Elanna didn't have to wait long before the ensign stepped out of the office with the one person that B'Elanna needed. The ensign came back.

"The admiral will see you," The ensign said. B'Elanna didn't let them finish as she went to the office.

"Admiral," B'Elanna said as she entered the office.

"Commander," Janeway shut the door behind them. The ensign was still trying to figure out what was going on.

"Please take a seat, B'Elanna," Janeway said to her once chief engineer as she took a seat behind her desk.

B'Elanna took a seat and took a breath. "I don't know if you can help but Tom is missing."

"Missing?" Janeway asked.

B'Elanna took another breath. She had to get to Tom before anything happened to him and the children. "Tom was going on a summer holonovel tour, and he took our two youngest with him. They were stopped at planet to do an interview and now they are missing."

Janeway frowned. "How do you know that they are missing?"

B'Elanna frowned but she knew that Janeway had to ask that question because she couldn't just go on a feeling that B'Elanna had. "Tom gave me their schedule and he contacted me four days ago and was supposed to call yesterday but never did. And only a couple of hours ago, Tom agent contacted me to see if I heard from Tom because Tom had missed his interview. The agent had gone to Tom's hotel room and found out that Tom or the kids were gone. He went to the local authorities and once they saw a picture of Tom and the kids, they decided to do nothing. I have a feeling that they know where Tom and my kids are, and they are not saying anything."

Janeway took a moment to take it all in. That didn't sound like the Tom she knew. He would not worry his wife like this even with him having two of their children. That Tom's agent called B'Elanna to tell her what was going on. B'Elanna was the only one that could do something about it. "Is the agent still there?"

"I hope not. I told him to go to the nearest star base, so nothing happens to him," B'Elanna said.

"Did anything seem out of place when he went to Tom's hotel room?" Janeway asked.

"All their things were there," B'Elanna said.

Janeway nodded. "Do you know what planet he went to?" B'Elanna told her. Janeway frowned. She had read a report about that planet. They weren't big on aliens. It was one of the reasons that those people moved to their planet. Janeway didn't know who was running that planet, but she could see the locals not wanting to get involved.

Janeway touched her comm. "Ensign I need a ship."

"Yes, ma'am," The ensign said.

"We will have to find a ship to take us, but we will get Tom and the kids back," Janeway smiled. She hoped that they could find Tom and his children where no harm was not done to them.

B'Elanna nodded and she knew that they had to wait to hear from the ensign to get back to them.

"Admiral, I found a ship. They are not ready to leave because they need a Chief Engineer," The Ensign said to them twenty minutes later.

Janeway looked at B'Elanna and B'Elanna nodded. "Tell the captain that I have a Chief Engineer and we will be on the ship in a few hours." Janeway turned off her comm. "Go home and pack for you and your family. Meet me back here for the transport to the ship."

B'Elanna nodded and got up. "Thank you, Kathryn," B'Elanna headed for the door.

"Don't thank me yet, we may not like what we find when we get there," Janeway said.

"I know, but I can hope," B'Elanna left the office.

A few hours later, Janeway and B'Elanna were on the ship. The captain of the ship met them in transporter room two.

"Admiral Janeway, welcome to my ship, what did you need?" The captain asked. The captain was Andorian.

"Captain…" Janeway said.

"Ch'kysril," Captain Ch'kysril supplied.

"May we go to your ready room, and I will explain everything," Janeway stepped off the transporter. "This Commander B'Elanna Torres, your Chief Engineer for the next couple of weeks," Janeway introduced B'Elanna.

B'Elanna greeted the captain. "Admiral Janeway will explain everything. I would like to see the engine room to know what I'm working with."

"Yes, Commander Morgen, my first officer will show you the way," Captain Ch'kysril pointed to his first officer that was behind him.

B'Elanna nodded and let Commander Morgen lead her out of the room. The captain and Janeway left the room and made their way to the bridge. Once they stepped on the bridge, they heard. "Admiral on the bridge," Everyone stood to attention. Janeway looked around and saw one familiar face.

"Thank you, Lieutenant," Janeway said. "Captain, your ready room," The captain nodded and led the way to the ready room.

Once they took their seats Janeway explained what was going on and that they needed to get there right away. The captain nodded and told her that they would be good to go as soon as possible.

"Please send Cadet Paris in," Janeway asked. The captain nodded and stood up. He left the room. The door opened two seconds later with Cadet Paris coming in. Cadet Paris stood in front of the desk. "Please take a seat, Cadet," Miral took a seat. "Does your mother know that you are on this ship?"

"No, Ma'am. This is the ship I assigned to," Miral said. "I rather you not tell her."

"She is going to find out because she is Chief Engineer," Janeway said.

"I know, I just don't need her to start worrying about me too," Miral wanted to stand.

Janeway nodded. "Understandable," Janeway took a moment. "I might need your help when we get there,"

Miral nodded. "Yes, Ma'am," Miral waited to see if Janeway was going to say anymore. When she didn't Miral stood and headed for the door.

"You should tell her soon," Janeway words stopped Miral at the door.

"I will," Miral headed out the door.

"Cadet Paris, take this PADD to engineering," Commander Morgen said as he handed her a PADD.

"Yes, sir," Miral headed for the turbo lifts. She took a breath because she was going to tell her mother tonight after her shift. Miral had just come out of the captain's ready room after her talk with Janeway.

Miral made it to Engineering and stood outside of the doors for a moment to take a breath. The doors opened and she stepped into chaos. Miral didn't know how her mother ran an engine room. She made her way to one of the station. "Do you know where Commander Torres is?" She asked the person at the station. The person pointed to the back. Miral went to the back to find her mom surrounded by people. She was giving them orders. Everyone around her walked away with their duties.

Miral stood in front of her mother, holding the PADD in her hand. B'Elanna was ready to turn around when she saw her eyes staring back at her. The only person that had those eyes was her daughter, Miral. "Miral, what are you doing on this ship?" She asked. B'Elanna noticed that people were starting to look to watch them. B'Elanna grabbed Mira's arm and headed to a quieter area. B'Elanna looked around to make sure that no one was around them. "What are you doing here?" B'Elanna hissed.

Miral took a breath. "I was assigned to this ship."

B'Elanna sighed. She didn't want to worry about Miral, too. She glanced at Miral and knew that B'Elanna couldn't say anything about her daughter being on the ship. Miral was on the ship first and B'Elanna was only to be on the ship until they got Tom, Xavier, and Selena back. "Alright," B'Elanna said. It was all she could say. "I'm going to treat you like every other cadet on this ship."

Miral smiled. "Yes, Commander," B'Elanna narrowed her eyes at her daughter. There was something that B'Elanna didn't like about that smile. "Commander Morgan asked me to give this to you," Miral handed the PADD to her mom.

B'Elanna looked over the PADD. "Tell him I'll have an answer in a few hours," Miral nodded and headed out for the door. "Dinner, my quarters," B'Elanna shouted after her daughter. Miral waved to her to let her know that she got the message.

"Admiral, we are here," The helmsperson said.

Janeway stood from the captain's chair and watched as the planet came into view. Janeway crossed her arms, Tom Paris was down there with his children somewhere. She turned away from the view screen. "Please get the captain, Commander Torres, Cadet Paris, and Lieutenant Triix to the briefing room." Janeway turned away and didn't see who nodded. She took one more look at the planet before heading to the briefing room.

When Janeway entered she saw Cadet Paris standing by a chair. She wanted to reassure the girl, but before she could B'Elanna walked in. B'Elanna saw her daughter and placed a hand on her back and Miral let out a breath and nodded. The captain and Chief Security Officer walked in. Janeway waved to the chairs for them to sit.

"We are at the planet where they are holding Tom and his children," Janeway looked at them. "Here is what we are going to do. Commander Torres and I are going down there to the local authorities to give them a curtesy call," Janeway looked at B'Elanna to see her nodding.

"Why you and Commander Torres?" Captain Ch'kysril asked.

"To show them the upset wife and that she has the force of Starfleet behind her. I want to know that they picked the wrong person to hurt," The captain nodded. "I have a feeling that they wouldn't tell us where Tom and the kids are, so up here I want you guys to find them so we can recuse them."

"It is going to be needle in a haystack to find them," Lieutenant Triix said.

"Not if we look for Klingon life signs," Miral said it with strength that had B'Elanna and Janeway smiling. Everyone looked at her. "If they don't like aliens, they are not going to have many Klingons on their planet. My brother and sister are quarter Klingon just like me. It might be faint, but it will show up."

Everyone nodded. Janeway stood up and everyone followed her. "Once you have their location, tell Commander Torres and I where to meet you. Please have a couple of security teams with you. Make sure that Cadet Paris is with you, she can help with her family."

Everyone nodded and Janeway left the briefing room. B'Elanna followed her to the transporter room. Janeway and B'Elanna beamed into the town center and headed for the local authorities building. They headed up the steps and into the building. Janeway made her way to the front desk. The officer behind the desk looked up at Janeway and didn't even glance at B'Elanna.

"How may I help you ma'am?" He asked. The way he said it, it was like he didn't notice that Janeway was an admiral.

"You can tell me where you are keeping Tom Paris and his children," Janeway placed her hands on the desk.

"Ma'am, we don't where Tom Paris and his mongrel children are," The officer behind the desk went back to his work.

Janeway had to hold B'Elanna back or she was going to kill the man for calling her children mongrels. "Thank you for your time," Janeway took B'Elanna's arm and pulled her out of the building.

B'Elanna took a breath once they were outside. If Janeway didn't have a hand on her, she might go back in there and kill that man for what he said about Xavier and Selena. Janeway and B'Elanna walked away from the building still waiting for the others to do their jobs.

"We know where they are," Janeway and B'Elanna heard over their badges.

"Take us there," Janeway said.

Janeway and B'Elanna appeared in a field surrounded by Starfleet security, the captain, the first officer, and Miral. B'Elanna glanced at her daughter. She didn't like that she was here, but Miral had told her that Janeway wanted her here because Miral could help with her brother and sister.

"They're in that outbuilding there," Captain Ch'kysril pointed beyond the trees to a building. "There are three other building on the property, but the Klingon life signs are coming from that building."

Janeway looked at B'Elanna. "Do you think that they would take Tom far away from the children?"

"No," B'Elanna said. "Tom would never be that far apart from our children. And they would have to control him somehow."

Janeway nodded. The Tom she knew would never leave his children. He had to be in the same building as his children. Janeway outlined the plan to the others. The captain and the first officer will take a team to the other buildings to clear them out. Janeway and B'Elanna were taking a team each to the main building. They were going to split up where they would each take a team. Miral was going with Janeway to get her brother and sister. Everyone nodded.

Janeway and B'Elanna took their teams to the building and took out the two men that were guarding the door. The men didn't see it coming. They entered the building, and someone came out of one of the rooms. B'Elanna shot him before he could react. They came down to the split at the end of the hall. The woman nodded and Janeway went to the left while B'Elanna went to the right.

Janeway and her group saw two men standing in front of a door. They had a shocked look on their faces when they saw them. They were to reach for their phasers, but the security team took each of them out. They made their way up to the door. Janeway looked at Miral. "I want you to go in first, check the room before gathering your siblings and bringing them out."

"Yes, ma'am." Miral nodded.

Miral held out her phaser as she entered the room. She felt the arms of one of her siblings around her. She looked and saw her little sister. Miral wrapped an arm around her as she looked around the room and all she saw was her brother and sister. She lowered her phaser and gathered her brother to her. She hugged them.

Miral looked around and didn't see her father. "Where is Dad?" She asked.

Selena leaned back. "They took him just before you came in. We must find him," Selena looked around and saw Janeway and the others enter the room. "Dad needs medical attention right away."

"We'll find him," Janeway said. She turned to Miral. "Take your brother and sister out and back to the ship," Miral nodded. "Take them straight to sickbay."

"Yes, ma'am," Miral led them out of the room and building where she met the captain and the first officers with their teams. They transported back to the ship.

Tom heard some commotion at the door. He looked at Amber to see that she heard it too. "What the hell is going on?" Amber made her way to the door to see what was going on when the door opened. Tom tried to smile when he saw his wife.

B'Elanna didn't use her phaser as she took out Amber. Amber threw draggers at B'Elanna with her eyes. "You are his mongrel wife," Amber spit out blood.

B'Elanna smiled and it made Tom glad he wasn't on B'Elanna's bad side. "Yeah, have been for years," B'Elanna was ready to take her out again when the Starfleet officer stopped her. They took Amber.

"We'll take her to the Admiral," One of them said. They glanced at Tom to make B'Elanna look at him.

"Tom," B'Elanna made her way over to him and hugged him. Tom closed his eyes as he felt his wife's arms around him. She reached up and untied his arms. Tom lowered his arms and wrapped them around B'Elanna. B'Elanna leaned over and kissed him. Tom couldn't stand on his feet as he fell on the ground. B'Elanna got down to his level. "I got you," B'Elanna whispered. Tom knew that was true.

"The kids?" Tom asked.

"Janeway should have them," B'Elanna kissed him again before calling to be transfer to sickbay. Tom passed out before they reached sickbay.

Tom woke to see his family around him. He saw the kids look okay as they were laying in sickbay. He saw that B'Elanna was sitting next to him, and Miral was sitting between Xavier and Selena. Tom reached over and ran a hand over B'Elanna's hair. She looked up at him. She smiled at him.

"I knew that you would find me," Tom said.

"I'm not letting you leave me so soon," B'Elanna looked at the children who looked like they were still sleeping. "We still have a lot of work to do," Tom let out a little laugh. Tom leaned over and kissed her.

"I love you," Tom reached for her hand. He didn't want to let her go.

"I love you, too."

"Dad, you are awake," Tom looked at Xavier and smiled. All three children came over and hugged him. Tom was glad to be in the arms of his family.
