ItaChu: Running Wild

"So, where are we going?" Feliciano asked, not for the first time.

"It's a surprise," Yao said, before checking the rearview mirror.

Feliciano pouted. He and Yao were supposed to be on a date, but Yao didn't tell him where they were going, and every attempt from Feliciano to guess was met with a negative response. Feliciano's knee kept bouncing. His curiosity was driving him insane.

Eventually, Yao turned into a parking lot. It was a mall that Feliciano was unfamiliar with, though it was a large city, and Feliciano didn't venture too far away from his own suburb.

"Is there a restaurant or something?" Feliciano asked.

"Not quite," Yao said. "A colleague told me about it, and I came to check it out a while ago. The moment I saw it, I knew that you would love it."

Feliciano's knee started bouncing faster, and he couldn't wait for Yao to find a parking spot. The car was barely off when Feliciano opened the door and jumped out.

"Hold on!" Yao called out, though there was a smile on his face. "You don't even know where to go."

"Hurry," Feliciano said.

"You really need to learn to control your curiosity."

Feliciano whined, and Yao approached him. They linked arms before Yao guided him towards the entrance, before turning right. They only had to go a short distance to find the store at the very end of the hallway, with a rather plain-looking entrance.

But as soon as they stepped inside, things changed. Feliciano's jaw dropped as he came to a stop.

It was an arts-and-craft store, and it was a lot larger than its entrance would suggest. In fact, it was hard to see any of the walls, and not just because of the items packed in front of them.

"I'll buy you whatever you like," Yao said, breaking the spell over Feliciano.

"R-really?" Feliciano asked.

"Of course," Yao said. "Go ahead. Oh, but I recommend starting at the very end and working your way through."

Feliciano turned to the right, which seemed to have the nearest wall, and he started going towards it. The first aisle had papers of different colours, with all sorts of canvases at the end. They even had black canvases. The next few aisles were devoted to different types of paint and brushes, and so it went.

At the end of the day, they spent four hours in the store, and Feliciano got some new paints and a canvas.

I went to visit my sister, and she took me to an art store. The place was massive, and it took us more than an hour to walk through it. She said that the first time they went, she and her husband spent three hours in there. And they cater to all sorts of hobbies, from painting to sketching to sculpting to woodworking to baking.
