Her head was ringing from the whiplash. Her ears were ringing, and her vision refused to focus. She was in a lot of pain, but she didn't think anything was broken. It took her a few minutes to realize someone was calling her.

She finally managed to focus on her surroundings and saw Jason kneeling beside her, trying to get her attention. He noticed as soon as her eyes finally focused.

"Robin, can you hear me?" He said. His voice was shaking.

She simply nodded yes. She could see that they were trapped in a dark place, with Jason's flashlight as the only light source.

"Okay, I need you to focus. When the building was blown up, a piece of roof collapsed on your back. I will try to move it. Can you crawl out?" He said as he got up.

Jade focused on her body. While she could now clearly feel the weight on her back, she was sure that she was not too injured. She nodded.

"Okay, I will count to 3 and lift it up." Jason secured his grip and started counting. Jade took a deep breath, and as soon as the weight was lifted, she crawled as fast as she could.

There was a thud as Jason let go and came to check on her. "Your ankle is swollen, but it doesn't seem broken. It should be better with a little rest. You were so lucky. What the hell were you thinking." Jason ranted. It was clear that he was stressed out by the whole situation.

Jade didn't have the energy to sign, so she just stared at him. "Fine, we will talk about this later. Cass and Steph are on their way. The comms are still working, so it wouldn't be long." Jason said as he reached into his belt and grabbed his water bottle.

"Here, you should drink." Jason helped her up and handed her the bottle. She just realized how thirsty she was.

She didn't know which god to thank, but she found herself very lucky in their current situation. She barely noticed the smell of the bomb at the last second. It was a bomb often used in the league.

It was made from natural ingredients and packed a heavy punch. On the positive side, the bomb was easy to smuggle since it didn't have a metal shell and couldn't get detected by metal detectors; on the other hand, it had an earthy smell unique to it.

She'd only seen it used a few times in training, but the smell was distinct. She smelled it from the roof above them. Someone must have planted it there to kill their target.

Since the bomb had no metal shell, it couldn't be triggered from far away. The only way to blow it up was to shoot it. Which explained the gunshot she heard moments before the whole ordeal.

That was why she tackled Jason. He was too close to the window, the only place that would allow someone to safely shoot the bomb from a distance. She let out a sigh of relief.

It took an hour for the rescue team to get them out. The bad news was that they were the only survivors, which meant their target didn't survive. The good news was that Cain and Brown got to the building just as it exploded, and Cain managed to catch the suspicious guy trying to run away, who turned out to be the one who detonated the bomb.

They were now taking him to the police for questioning. Jade and Jason headed to the cave for overnight monitoring. They inhaled too much dust and also needed their injuries checked. Neither was out of commission, but they needed to take it easy for a while.

The next day, she woke up to her body aching. It was not the worst she had ever felt, but not pleasant by any means. She used a crutch to keep weight off her ankle as she went to the kitchen.

She was so hungry, yet she knew her body couldn't handle anything heavy, so she grabbed a yogurt and some fruit and sat down to eat. It was still early in the morning, so Pennyworth and others wouldn't be awake anytime soon.

After breakfast, she went to her room for a quick shower and took Bastet back to the cave with her. She needed to look at the mission reports. Jason was still asleep in the med bay.

Jade decided to check on him. He was asleep, and his vitals were normal. Jade looked at the medical report. There weren't any serious injuries—just a few bruises and scrapes.

Still, she needed assurance. There was no one there in the cave, so she decided to be brave. Slowly, carefully, she reached for a hand and touched it. He was warm, which was a good sign.

When he didn't show any reaction to waking, she sneaked her hand into his and let the warmth envelop her. As if on reflex, his grip tightened on hers. It wasn't uncomfortable or tight. It was just a gentle pressure on her hand.

She couldn't help but smile. Her brother was there, and he was alright. She stayed like that for a few minutes before reluctantly letting go. She had things to do, after all.

She went back to the bat computer, pulling out the reports. She filled in the blank spaces of the reports with their side of the story since they weren't in any condition to report back last night.

She also saw the new reports from GCPD and Cain. Apparently, she decided to be directly involved in the interrogations since there was a chance that the guy was an assassin. Thankfully, from the last reports, it was unlikely, and he was only hired to do a job.

They were still trying to get him to talk, and with Cain there, it shouldn't take long. She started investigating the league. If the bomb was there, it could only mean that the league was involved.
