Set a few months after David and Annie broke up. Life goes on... or does it?

The challenge was to write a story that would 1) tell a Season 5 backstory that 2) makes sense of David and Maddie's complicated Season 5 relationship while it also 3) explains why David is so angry and so bitter that he would sleep with Maddie's married cousin Annie, and that 4) did not conflict with anything we see onscreen. The result is this collection of stories.
