A Project made by AmusedLight and Lucius Walker. This project took a while and I am working on this with my friend. Also around this time another project is in the process of being released, a Naruto/Bleach project, so that's something to read and this during the weekend.

Enjoy.

*BAM!*

Getting punched right across the face was not what one properly dressed Japanese man had planned today while on a ship in the middle of the ocean. He was on the said ship on the said ocean for a business trip on behalf of his company, which also liked to sock him across the face, albeit more metaphorically.

"Okay, listen up, Japanese guy," the pirate responsible for Rokuro Okajima's now bloody nose demanded cooly. "Is this the disk from Asahi Heavy Industries?"

The dark-skinned pirate cocked his revolver while the tribal-tattooed woman beside him simply raised her silver pistol.

"Y-Yeah, that's right!" Rokuro groaned in between his hand, which was already soaked with his blood. Despite two guns being pointed at him, he still managed to shoot out a glare through his tears. "But I swear, that's all I know!"

"Dutch," the woman next to him sighed. "This guy's being a real pain. Let's just kneecap his ass. That'll make him sing like a bird."

"No need for that, Revy," the bald man smiled. "That's all I wanted out of him anyways."

Rokuro let out a muffled sigh of relief while this "Revy" just snorted, disappointed at the lack of action. 'Strange codename,' he thought.

"[Dutch. Dutch. Hey Dutch?]"

Just then, Dutch's earpiece buzzed to life. Dutch looked back at the businessman cowering below them as he reached his earpiece to adjust it.

"[You through with him yet? Cause there's something headed straight for us from Subic Bay. Probably a patrol boat from the Filipino Navy.]"

"Don't panic, Benny-boy. We're all done here. Start the engine."

On Dutch's command, the pirate ship below them roared to life as Dutch cleared his throat.

"Listen up, gentlemen! We're going to disappear, then you'll all be free to go. But I'm warning you, the deal's off if anybody decides to go after us. If you look over there, that's a torpedo launcher. Go ahead, take a look if you don't believe me!"

The rest of the hostages, who were cowering in the shadow with their hands behind their hands, hesitantly moved closer to the railing to check to see if he was bluffing. Their faces paling, they scurried back to the shadows at the black man's command.

"If you don't want to float home on what's left of your ship, I'd recommend you stay put for the next half-hour. Aside from that, you're free to do as you wish."

"Oh man…we're going to live," Rokuro let out a sigh of relief.

"Why are you looking so relaxed? You're going to tag along with us," the pirate named Revy glared at him, shoving her pistol into his face.

"Y-You're joking, right?"

*POW!*

Everyone but Revy and Dutch jumped at the gunshot, with the latter simply glancing behind him to see a steel door open.

"Hey kid, you got it?"

Stumbling through the door first was a large man who limped out, holding onto his bleeding foot that now had a hole in it through his expensive-looking shoe. The one responsible for this injury stepped out behind the man.

"Not much of a fashion guy myself, but dude, those are not fit for the seas."

The last member of the Black Lagoon company was a young man with sun-kissed skin and hair. Wearing a pair of cargo pants with a simple white t-shirt that did little to hide his muscular physique with his right hand having a leather glove he was holding his gun, the most striking part of his appearance was his animal-like whisker marks on his cheeks and his orange bandana. This was Naruto Uzumaki, who was holding a computer under one arm while holding a pistol in the other – a smoking SIG Sauer P220 to be exact.

"Excuse me, passing by," Naruto hummed as he nudged against the injured man. "Pro tip: don't try to run when someone's pointing a gun at you. Usually doesn't work out."

"Hey, how come he gets to shoot someone, but I can't kneecap this pussy?!" Revy complained to Dutch, who just looked exasperated. "And what's with the computer?"

"For one, my dear Revy, it's because this bad boy's hard drive got more data than just that little disk Dutch is holding," Naruto explained while walking up to the pair holding the Japanese man at gunpoint. "And secondly, that guy tried to make a run for it when I asked for the computer. That's why I gave him a little ouchie as a warning."

"[He's gonna use the computer for the club, isn't he?]" their technician Benny snarked over the comms.

"Hey man, not cool," Naruto responded to Benny with faux hurt feelings. "Besides, these computers are grade-A, so why not use them?"

"[Most people use them to track down other ships or hack into systems]" Benny chuckled. "[You, on the other hand, use it to sell your merchandise without doing too much paperwork.]"

"The day I pay my taxes would be the day when they fix the goddamn potholes. Besides, the Internet's the future, my man," Naruto shot back humorously before turning to Dutch. "Alright, enough chit-chat. Let's get out of here."

"Took the words out of my mouth," Dutch grunted, before turning to Revy. "C'mon, let's go!"

At this, Revy poked Rokuro's cheek harshly with her gun.

"Walk."

The Black Lagoon is a relatively small boat – an Elco PT model, to be exact. While not built for extreme combat, it was built for speed, as demonstrated by its smooth, quick sailing through the calm ocean water, making its getaway after another successful job.

While the boat was making its way home, its pilot was attempting communication to its destination.

"This is the Black Lagoon company to Balalaika, can you hear me?"

["Just fine, Dutch. What about the catch?"]

"I've got it, of course." Dutch spoke into the radio. "The item is in my possession. Intel was correct."

["I admire smart work, Dutch. But I heard you took an extra pair of hands with you, is that right?"]

"Hey, Balalaika!" Naruto shouted while coming in, still carrying the computer in his arm. "By the way, that Japanese guy is apparently an extra bargaining chip now."

Dutch's face twitched at this. "Goddamnit, Revy…" he groaned.

["Naruto, nice to hear from you, but please, dear, let me finish with Dutch first."]

Naruto smiled and waved his hand at the radio before leaving Dutch alone, allowing the two to continue their conversation.

Dropping off the computer to Benny, he reunited with Revy, who was keeping an eye out for their extra bargaining chip.

"Aw, Revy-chan. Are you cheating on me with him?"

"Fuck off, Nar-Nathan, it ain't like that!" Revy flipped him off.

Smirking as he suppressed a chuckle, Naruto turned to their new passenger and approached him.

"What's your name?"

"R-Rokuro…Rokuro Okajima…"

"Ever been to Roanapur?"

{ Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo Japan }

Japan was home to many large skyscrapers, all owned by powerful corporations that were used to dealing with problems ranging from financial issues to public scandals. However, this one, the one that came from the South China Sea, took the cake for those in the council room.

"This is the greatest crisis Asahi Heavy Industries has faced since its founding."

The room was filled with suited men who all held positions of power within the company. The company director, an old, balding man with glasses, cleared his throat, silencing the room immediately.

"What does our materials division chief have to say about this? Kageyama?" the bald director asked from his seat sternly.

"Developments since the raid are as follows…" Kageyama, another graying man, began. "A firm by the name of Bougainvillea Trading Company has contacted us, wishing to negotiate regarding the stolen disk…"

"First time I've heard of them. What's the word on this company?"

"Well…it's not much of a company as a front…" Kageyama proceeded to then inform them on what he managed to find out about this 'company.' "They're the Russian Mafia from what I could find out. They successfully moved the Chinese gangs out of Southeast Asia and have taken over control of the black market there."

One of the board member's face contorted into anger. "You mean to say some gangsters managed to steal company information? Disgraceful! How could this happen?!"

"What are they hoping to gain from this specifically?" another board member asked. "Money?"

"If what I've discovered about them is correct, they're more interested in our trading partner's…illegal smuggling routes into Southeast Asia…" Kageyama replied with a look of a man that had just sucked on a lemon. "They're hoping to get in on the covert trade deal we're currently planning. If we don't comply, then all of that data will be released to the public."

"Blackmail…"

"It's shameful that we are vulnerable to blackmail," the Director spoke, disappointment evident in his voice. "Still, how did they get it…"

The other member of the table brought up. "Based on what we've heard so far, it seems to me at this point they don't actually know what's on the disk."

"That still doesn't help with our current situation, gentleman," the Director interrupted. "Regardless of whether they bother looking through the disk or not, if in the wrong hands, this will lead to the worst scandal for this company to ever exist, so we need to act fast."

Before anybody could say anything else, one of the various company men entered the office after a few knocks. Rushing inside, he handed Kageyama a note. Ah, right on time.

Quickly scanning through the notes, he put down the piece of paper and began to speak. "We've just received a report from Jakarta. According to a local Chinese merchant we've been speaking to, the Russian Mafia has yet to receive the disk. It's still in the hands of the pirates who attacked the Melanesia."

Kageyama then slammed his palms down onto the desk. "This may be our only chance. We cannot simply take the word of a common group of gangsters. We must intercept it before they could get their hands on it."

The board of members looked toward one another, before one member asked, "How?"

One other member coughed to gain the attention of everyone. "I understand, the board will leave this matter in your hands, Kageyama. Choosing one action to take is also your responsibility."

Kageyama bowed in response, making his leave to the door to start his given task, he reached his hand for the doorknob…

"Mr. Kageyama. Before you leave, you also will need to find out how these pirates managed to get the knowledge about this information," the board director ordered. "I trust you to find out about this, understood?"

The businessman and member of the Ahashi Industries turned his head around and responded.

"I believe there is a name connected to this, but I will have to double-check this, of course."

"And that is?"

"A young man of Japanese origin – Uzumaki Naruto."

"ACHOO!"

"Bless you."

Naruto accepted a napkin to clean his nose. "Thanks."

"No problem, just make sure not to get it all over my set, yeah?" the man responded while adjusting his glasses. A fellow blond, albeit one with a ponytail, Benny was dressed in his usual Hawaiian shirt, the unconventional researcher, mechanic, and computer wiz who was now typing at the speed of light.

"So? What'cha got?" Naruto asked while leaning next to Benny. "Anything worth extracting?"

Benny squinted as he leaned his head closer to the monitor. "Hmm, nothing at first, just your usual traffic data of both official and unofficial stops. Some cargo record on those transport ships…which is a lot." The technician of the crew widened his eyes the more numbers he read. "...Emphasis on a lot, even for a corpo like that."

"Yeah, those Japanese corporations all are the same," Naruto said looking into the data with a glare in his eye as he took a sip from his can of beer. "You'd think gangsters are the real criminals until you find out what these bastards make under the table."

"Hard to disagree with you on that, but I found something more interesting," Benny said with a smile as he opened up a tab. "Looks like inside that computer they also keep track and names of all the associates Asahi Industries keep – their unwritten ones to be exact."

A grin grew on the blond-whiskered man's face as he said. "I knew it…"

"You were right, that ship did have a black book, and now we got our hands on it," Benny said, turning around to his fellow blond. "From Bangkok to Jakarta to even Melbourne, we've hit a big score."

"Damn it, Revy!"

Their little celebration was cut short when they heard Dutch yelling from the other room. Ah, he finally decided to confront Revy about their useless bargaining chip. Welp, time to calm his fierce tiger.

Naruto quickly walked out of Benny's den to find Revy, who was lying back on the ship while Dutch was chewing her out about the extra hostage situation they got themselves into. Said hostage was just miserably sitting on the floor, no doubt hoping to avoid the burgundy-haired woman's unpredictable mood swings.

"What's the big idea kidnapping a little fish like him? What are you trying to prove?"

"You don't get it, do ya, Dutch? We're getting paid only twenty grand for this job. Only twenty grand!" Revy yelled back, holding up two fingers, before using one of them to point at the newcomer. "And don't even get me started on Nathan's cut! All the more reason to get an extra out of this ransom!"

"Hey, Nathan's not even getting a cut out of this, Revy," Benny reminded her as he kept staring at his computer screen. "Either way, you're being too simple-minded."

"YOU WANNA DIE, BENNY?!" Revy threatened before turning to Naruto. "And YOU! Why are you so friendly with this asswipe when you mentioned we're going back to Roanapur? You stupid or what?!"

"It doesn't matter, Revy-chan. He's not even valuable to them," Naruto shrugged, getting a small look of surprise from the others as he casually walked by the hostage before turning to the crew. "They're more interested in the disk and computer we snatched up than a common work drone they can replace on a whim. Sorry to tell you this, dude, but they don't give a rat's ass about you."

Their hostage tried to protest. "But I…I work-"

"For Asahi Industries, who are notorious in the underworld for cutting off loose ends without a blink. If anything, you're collateral damage at this point, and if they could kill you and get away with it, they would've already done so if we left you on that ship. So fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on the way you look at it, Dutch is right. You're worth nothing to them now that you've more or less fallen off the grid."

"GODDAMMIT! Not only are we getting a lousy payday, but we also have a useless fucking hostage?! FUCK!" Revy roared in anger as she kicked a wooden box aside, before suddenly taking out her pistol. "FINE! WE'LL JUST SHOOT HIS ASS AND THROW HIM OVERBOARD!"

*POW!* *POW!* *POW!* *PO–*

Her anger riled up, her fingers moved to empty her magazine, only to find her world turning upside down and her arm forcibly aimed skywards. His fingers were intertwined with hers, pushing her trigger finger away from its intended use. Revy blinked, and she realized that his face was close to hers; his other arm supported her neck as he put her into a deep ballroom bow.

"Easy, Revy…easy…" he murmured, his lips just a whisper away from her ear.

"...*Tch!*" Revy tsked as she pushed herself up, holstering her gun as she glanced at the hostage, who was currently on the verge of soiling himself on the account of the many bullets that were close to piercing his body.

"As I was saying, those Japanese suits might find him useless now, but their loss is our gain." Naruto turned towards the black man. "Dutch, weren't you in need of an accountant?"

"Well firstly, thanks for stopping Revy from shooting up my ship…some more. Again."

Revy just gave him the finger as she turned her head away.

"And secondly, yeah, I did mention that. Poor Benny works overtime juggling our finances as well." Dutch then looked over at their hostage, who was busy trying to collect himself. "He doesn't really look the part."

"Anyone working in a company like Asahi has to have experience working some big numbers, so I'm sure he'll do fine. Of course, that's assuming he doesn't have any other skills he's picked up over the years. Either way, he could be an invaluable crew member." Naruto gave the Japanese salaryman a look. "Of course, that's assuming he wants to. The choice is yours."

Rokuro let out an audible gulp as he now stood on the crossroads of his life. After a few, agonizing seconds, he finally spoke.

"I…I think I need a smoke."

"Good, I can use one too."

The skies of the South China Sea had changed into a beautiful blue and purple sky with clouds, and the PT boat's top side was now with three men sitting there and enjoying the view.

*TCHK!*

The last one to light up the end of their cigarette was Naruto, who puffed out the smoke through his mouth as he sat by Dutch and the hostage Rokuro, leaning against the boat while Naruto just stood there watching the sky.

"Enjoying the view, Naruto?" Dutch asked.

"Oh you know it, Dutch," Naruto said turning around to his friend with a wide grin. "I love nature."

"W-Wait, Naruto?" Rokuro was confused by this. "Isn't your name Nathan?"

Dutch just chuckled at this. "Nathan's his English name. His second identity, you could say. It's for people that either can't or won't pronounce his name properly, so at some point, he just came up with the other name."

"Naruto…" Rokuro repeated that name before realizing with widened eyes, "Wait, that's a Japanese name."

"Uzumaki Naruto at your service, man," Naruto responded in a mock bow as he smiled widely. "Born but not raised in Japan, at your service – the owner of the best nightclub in Roanapur!"

Rokuro blinks at that. "Nightclub?"

"Let's stay on topic, yeah?" Dutch grunted, before turning back to their potential colleague. "So assuming your company does give a rat's ass about you, we'll be delivering you along the disk."

"So this will be a ransom, huh?" Rokuro took a big drag from his cigarette and breathed it out. "This will go on my permanent record…"

"Of course, we'll first need to get our own priorities, bringing that disk to our client has to come first." Dutch told them, "And we'll figure out what to do with that data on the computer."

Naruto's eyes gazed at him. "Benny told you what's on it?"

"No need if you keep the door open, but this might be enough for us to get 20 grand for each of us," Dutch replied, turning to the blond. "If you agree to that, of course."

"...First the disk, and then we'll decide what to do with the data," Naruto decided for the moment, biting the butt of his cigarette, his mind began to brainstorm what to do with that data knowing he couldn't think it over too long.

Whatever they were going to do next was to be decided once they went back to their little hang-around spot. With a calm hostage by their side, information that was worth heads, and a strong desire for some good liquor with the sun settling down soon, things were looking up.

"First round's on me."

Roanapur – a sweltering port city on the coast of Thailand where the air hung thick with corruption and violence. Mixed with criminals and outcasts from every corner of the world, it was filled with neon signs flickering in the hazy night with cars driving past the light-up buildings that were advertising bars and brothels to sailors and lawbreakers alike. This was the lawless haven of Southeast Asia. By day, rickety fishing boats bob in the harbor alongside sleek speedboats used for gunrunning and drug trafficking. As night falls, gunshots and drunken brawls erupt with clockwork regularity. The police turn a blind eye, their pockets lined with bribes from the city's criminal syndicates.

In Roanapur, might makes right, and morality is as fluid as the muddy waters of the Mekong. It's a city where anything can be bought or sold – guns, drugs, information–

"FUCK OFF!"

–Or an expensive bottle of liquor that was just smashed across the face of a poker player, who slumped over like a ragdoll. The other patrons ignored this, save for the few who chuckled at this.

This bar is the Yellow Flag, a regular spot for many crooks with some cred on their name to hang out, which included the infamous Black Lagoon company. Rokuro just sat there nervously at the fact he sat with all of these people, noticing something on all of them.

"I just don't get it. Why is there a gun on every table?" Rokuro asked. "Is this the so-called 'bar at the end of the world you see in westerns?."

"A pretty good analogy. This bar was founded by the southern Vietnamese soldiers who survived the war," Dutch explained. "They started taking in fugitive soldiers too, and before you know it, the place had gone straight to hell."

As if to prove his point, another bottle was smashed over one's head, with two men brawling in the background with a small crowd cheering them on.

"Hookers, junkies, mercenaries, hitmen. Irredeemable criminals," Dutch rattled off the list of your average residents of Roanapur. "Why, don't like it?"

"...Japanese pubs…" Rokuro just sighed, wanting to be back in that peaceful bar he was so used to.

*CLONK!*

"Ahhh!" Naruto said slamming his empty glass of beer with a shit-eating grin. "That hits the spot!" His cheeks were beginning to turn red as he let out a satisfied exhale.

"Hey, easy with the mug, kid! Money doesn't grow on trees, ya know!" the bartender and owner of this place Bao snapped while cleaning some glasses. "And don't forget to pay your tab–"

"Oh zip it, old man! I paid it a week ago, and you're just trying to get a freebie in my business!" Naruto snapped back while pointing his glass at the owner. "Now c'mon, hit me with a refill or you're banned again for two weeks!"

"Hey, that wasn't my fault-"

"Don't care!" Naruto interrupted him. "And get me something to snack on, I'm starving!"

Angry, but not one to deny a faithful, paying customer, Bao snatched the glass from Naruto's hands and walked away with a grumble.

"Thanks!" Naruto shouted at him while leaning over the counter.

Benny smirked while drinking his own beer, "Why you beating on Bao like that? You know he's innocent."

"Like hell he is!" Naruto shot back with a grumpy look. "He knows the rules: can look, but you can't touch!"

*CLONK!*

"Ahhhh!" Revy sighs in satisfaction after finishing her own drink, before turning to Naruto. "You're a hypocrite, you know that?"

Naruto reacted by giving a funny look. "How so?"

"Because I know you've been banging half your fucking staff," Revy replied with a side eye. "Yet you're fine letting Bao spice your drinks up and then try to blackmail him into getting cheaper prices for food and drinks here, how's that fair?"

"Since when are you the defender of small business, Revy?" Naruto asked her with a smirk, "You trying to say something?"

"Fuck off!"

*SLAM!*

Pulling out a bottle out of nowhere, a Bacardi, to be exact, Revy also pulled out two empty glasses with ice cubes inside as she began pouring in the drinks with a wicked grin.

"I'm just saying if you're going try and cheat out on somebody with drinks, why not do it against me?" Revy shoved the filled glass to Naruto with a dare. "So how about you put that act away with the flushed cheeks and try drinking me from under the table!"

"Deal!" Naruto laughed as he took the challenge and faced off against his friend.

Rokuro was taken aback as he observed the two engaging in a drinking game. Despite Revy constantly verbally abusing Naruto on the boat, they seemed to get along surprisingly well during this moment out of work. This left Rokuro feeling puzzled about the true nature of their relationship.

"Don't think about it too much, Rock."

Already given the nickname he went along with, Rock turned to Benny who was himself enjoying his drink.

"Those two always talking like that, but they go way back." Benny told him while grabbing a handful of snacks and chewing on it, "They either fight, bicker, drink, laugh, or 'have fun' when they're alone."

"What do you mean by 'have fun?'" Rock raised an eyebrow.

"Well, I could tell you that…" Benny gave a smile with a nervous chuckle, "but I don't want to lose my balls courtesy of Revy herself."

"Trust me, what's between them stays between them," Dutch said, finishing his drink before stepping off. "Benny, I'm going to make a call. Try to keep things peaceful here while you can."

"I'll try."

More fighting ensued behind the gang as a few women in expensive-looking clothing were seen flirting with some of the patrons, successfully attracting some of their attention.

"Hey Naruto, none of your girls are working out there tonight," Bao mentioned, bringing up some new clean glasses on the counter. "You raised their wages again?"

"Nah, just gave them overtime pay," Naruto said, turning to the owner and grabbing a glass for himself, downing it alongside the shots Revy was already giving him. "Business is good for now, so I saw no harm."

"Wait," Rock turned to look at Naruto. "Are you a pimp?"

Naruto's cheerful grin slowly melted into a cold stare that made the room drop a few degrees colder. Naruto slowly put his glass back down as he turned to meet Rokuro's frightful gaze.

"People might call me that…but I'm not filth like him."

For a moment, Rokuro felt like he was staring down the barrel of a gun again. His body shivered, and he quickly bowed his head in apology. "I-I'm sorry!"

"...No harm done. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to take a leak."

Naruto got up from his seat and strolled away to the restroom, leaving Revy and Benny to exchange uncomfortable glances between the blond and the brunette men.

"...Dumbass…" Revy turned to her Bacardi and took a swig straight from the bottle.

"I-I–"

"Don't sweat it, okay?" Benny said, patting the salaryman on the shoulder. "You didn't know."

Rokuro chose to sit down instead of saying anything else.

"Alright, since we're here socializing and junk, I guess I might as well formally introduce you to the group," Benny sighed after taking a drink. "Starting with Dutch, he's a pretty cool guy if you don't cross him. Tough, surprisingly knowledgeable, and a bit eccentric, don't expect to get much out of him on his personal life. Trust me, he's a tough nut to crack, even for me."

"Okay…and Naruto?"

Benny fell into contemplative silence for a moment, seemingly if wondering if spilling the details for his fellow blond might get him killed, before deciding that it was safe enough.

"Naruto…I think he's worked alongside Dutch longer than Revy and I have. Since 91' or 90', I don't know. He was always either in Roanapur, or he adapted pretty quickly. Either way, people can agree that he's a pretty down-to-earth guy, and a good friend to the right people. But to those he doesn't like…"

Rokuro decided to brave a question. "...What happens to them?"

"...When I say that he's probably the purest guy in this shithole, I'm not kidding. Whatever heart he has left is made of gold, and if he decides that he doesn't like you for any reason, he'll make sure to take care of you before you even know it. Hell, I'd say he arguably does more than this place's police force ever does."

"I…I think I get it now," Rokuro mumbled as he grabbed his drink. "Cheers."

"Cheers."

"Ahhhhh! Been a while since I drained the old lizard~"

Emptying his bladder into the urinal, he ignored Dutch's annoyed look as he stood by the restroom's payphone.

"Mind not making much noise?"

"Sorry, was holding that one in for a while," Naruto chuckled, pulling his zipper up and walking to the sink to wash his hands. "Who's that?"

"Balalaika," Dutch said while handing the phone. "And it looks like we got to leave soon. Asahi didn't bite."

Naruto blinked as he sobered up quickly. Quickly patting his hands dry onto his shirt, he took out his SIG pistol and cocked it.

"Tell."

["That's Naruto I assume?"] the purr of a dangerous Russian woman reached his ears.

"Right here, Balalaika, right here," Naruto said, preparing himself as he took the phone. "What's going on?"

["Some Chinese merchant squealed and now some mercs are on their way to you. They're coming to retrieve the disk and computer and to eliminate you, so I thought you guys better get the heads-up."]

"Figures. Corporate money can get a lot of people to do a lot of things," Naruto grunted while checking the status of his gun. "Got a name of the hired guns?"

["They're a group called the Extra Order. A South African private military company. Expect a lot of numbers and heavy firepower."]

*VROOM!*

Dutch glanced over to an open window, hearing some trucks outside. It sounded like a lot of them judging from how many doors were opening.

"Looks like they've arrived," Dutch said pulling out his Smith & Wesson 629 revolver and spun the cylinder. "Balalaika, appreciate the heads up."

["Don't mention it. Just try not to get yourself killed – these South Africans aren't the type to play nice."]

Naruto grinned viciously as he reached into his pocket and pulled out something small. He cautiously peeked through the slightly ajar door and spotted Revy and Rock engaged in a heated drinking game with a Japanese salaryman, who seemed to be holding his own. As he observed the scene, he also noticed a few shadows moving outside the window, lurking behind their parked trucks.

"Well, like that song goes: I've never met a nice South African."
