Arthur note: This is a modern AU that takes place in the year 2020, making Harry's parents' death occur in 2002 on his birthday. He started Hogwarts in 2013 and attended until 2020. The story starts in his 7th year.

Harry Potter has just defeated the biggest dark lord since Grindwald during the battle for Hogwarts and the wizarding world has turned their backs on him again when he discovers that James Potter isn't his biological father, and he has living relatives in America. Harry sat in the Gryffindor common room at Hogwarts, taking a final look around at the only place that had ever truly felt like home. Suddenly, a majestic owl flew into the room, bearing the crest of Gringotts Wizarding Bank. It landed on his desk and extended its leg, indicating that he should take the letter tied to it. As soon as Harry grasped the letter, the owl suddenly took flight, becoming just a black dot in the sky. After it departed, Harry settled down to read the letter.

Dear Mr. Potter,

We are writing to inform you that your presence is required for the reading of the will of Lord James and Lady Lily Potter, as well as your inheritance test.
