It had been several hours since Jon's disappearance. Ponch was arguing with Getraer which was getting them both no where.

"Poncherello, I want you back on the freeway. I cant ave you investigating this. Youre too close as it is."

"And you arent?" Ponch shouted back.

"We all are. But youre his partner. Look, you'll be doing us both a favor."

"But Sarge! Please dont do this."

"Frank, I know you're worried about him. We'll find him."

"Yeah? Before or after its too late?"

Ponch left before Getraer could say anything else.

Getraer sighed and shook his head. "We'll find him." He reminded himself.

Jon unwrapped his ankle and looked at it. It looked pretty bad. He stood up again but soon realized he couldnt walk on his foot. Jon sat back down and laid hid foot out. He wasnt sure why he was being kept or who this joker was. The door flew open.

"Officer Baker. Youre sarge wants to know if youre okay."

He handed the reciever to Jon. "Dont say anything you'll regret."

He took the reciever.

"Hello?"

"Jon? You alright?" He heard Getraer say.

"Sarge? Whats going on?"

"I dont know. He hasnt said much. Are you hurt?"

"Just my ankle I think. Would you give Ponch a message for me?"

"Sure."

"Tell him Im alright and I'll see him soon."

The reciever was taken away from Jon.

"If you want to see him alive again, this time, you'll comply with my demands."

"One of your officers, I think his name is Baricza, arrested a fellow friend of mine. So, i want him in return for your officer."

"Okay. You got a deal."

"You'll be hearing from me."

He hung up and set the phone aside.

"Now, if your sargent knows whats good for him, he wont do any tricks."

After the call, Getraer got on the radio.

"LA 15 7 Mary 4 go to channel 12."

After a few moments, he heard Ponch's voice. "LA 15 7 Mary 4. Go ahead."

"Ponch, I just recieved a call from Jon's captor. Jon has a message for you."

"What'd he say?"

"He says hes fine and he'll see you soon."

"Whats that mean? Is he being released?"

"Not exactly. Get back to the station. I'll share with you all the details."

"10-4 Sarge. Im on my way."

Ponch arrived and rushed in to Getraer's office.

"Sarge. What do ya got?"

"This guy has demands and it involves getting Baker back. But we have to release this guy named..." He shuffled through some papers. "Robert Vasquez. We have to make a switch. Him for Jon. I want you to do the trade."

"What are you going to do?"

"Im going to have other officers hidden so we can ambush this guy."

Ponch looked down, then looked at Getraer. "What if your plan doesnt work? We will lose him again."

"It has to work. We only have one shot at this. Lets make it count."

Jon had put his boot back on. It was getting more and more difficult for him to walk. Hiss captor camd in and dragged him tk his feet. Jon almost fell as he accidentally put weighg on his foot.

"We're going. I gave them the location of where to meet. From what I hear, your partner is doing the exchange."

Jon stayed silent. He was in too much pain to speak. He was shoved in the back of a car.

After a little while, the car stopped at the location. The driver side door opened and Jon could hear voices outside.

"Where's Jon?" Ponch called out.

"Hes in the back. Wheres my friend Mr. Vasquez?"

Ponch got him out of the car.

"Its your turn." Ponch said.

He reached into the backseat and harshly dragged Jon out. "Start walking." He said. Jon looked at Ponch, then at his captor. Ponch knew what he was thinking. Jon made his move and knocked over his captor, then struggled with him. His captor grabbed the pistol he took from Jon and Jon knocked it out of his hands. Jon madd him lay face down, holding his hands behind his back.

Ponch approached and cuffed the guy. He helped Jon up and spoke. "We had a plan all ready Jon."

Jon looked at him and smiled. "You did?"

"Course we did. Look." Jon turned his attention behind him and he saw several officers including Grossman, Baricza and a few others walking toward them.

Jon laughed. "Was it your idea?"

"Are you kidding? It was Sarge's. Are you alright?"

"I need to get my ankle looked at. I can barely walk."

"Okay. I'll drive you."

In the car, Jon took off his boot again. His uniform shirt was still around his ankle.

"That looks bad Jon."

"I know. Hey, thanks for coming."

"Anytime Partner."
