Forces: Chasing Memories is the 2nd set of chapters. After the dust has settled after the battle with Infinite, everything should've went back to normal, but unfortunately it didn't. Not for a two tailed fox. Unable to come to terms for what Chris has done for his sacrifice, but what if there was a way to bring him back? Luckily for there is, but at what cost?
A MAJOR thanks to the Beta-Reader here on that helped me put this into words and to fix it as much as possible till I felt confident with it. Thanks to...

Chapter 2: Six Months Later
Six months have gone by since Chris stumbled out of the forest and met Molly on that fateful night on the road. Taken to the town of Nue Heaven, Chris had a new life, never finding out who he was before. Acquiring a new name and meaning, he was now referred to as Wally. And lastly, living with Molly and also becoming friends with some of the townsfolk. In a couple of months he managed to get a job for a hardware store.
One day, Wally was resting from a very slow and boring day of work 'til he fell asleep in the storage room. "WALLY! Where the heck are you?" His boss, Randy Donavan, a rabbit of small stature, and short brown fur faded with age, shouts for him from another room. The sound of the door wakes him. "WALLY!"
He quickly gets up to his feet. "Y- yeah, wha?"
Randy eyes him knowing he was asleep. "You've been back here for too damn long. Orders finally popped up to be delivered," he informs him as he exits out of the storage room.
Wally quickly rubs his eyes to snap him out of it. "Damn, it's about time."
"That's right. You have four orders to deliver to four different places," he tells him, giving him the addresses.
"Four? Geez, that might take me all day." He looks at the addresses. "Wow… Yup, all day. I'm basically going all over the place."
"Before you go… catch." Randy tosses him a brown shirt.
Wally catches it and unfolds it to look at it. "Nice… A business shirt?" he says looking at the dark brown shirt with his logo on it being a diamond with the letters RHD meaning Randy's Hardware and Deliveries.
"Can't have you going out there and not represent the place."
Looking at his new shirt, he glances up and notices Randy's new attire that he's wearing also. He wore a red and black shirt with his logo on it also and black work pants. "I see that you also got yourself something nice. How long is it going to last before you spill something on it?"
"Shut up. Now get outta here," Randy says, going through order receipts while moving the coffee cup further away.
He sighs as he goes through his pocket, "I'm going to have to call Molly that I might be late coming back home." He pulls out his phone and puts her on speaker.
"Hello?" her voice answers.
"Hey Molly, I'm going to be late coming back home."
"Work got busy?" she asks.
"No…" he looks at Randy with a smirk as he mocks, "The mean ol' grouch got me delivering packages all over the place."
Randy just smiles right back taking a sip from his coffee.
Out of the phone, "Hi Randy," knowing that he's there.
"Hi Molly," he answers back. "Wally was really eager and happy to deliver those packages."
"I bet he was. Just be safe out there."
"I'm always safe so don't worry. I'll behave while I am out and about."
She giggles, "Alright, just come back home safe."
Hearing her giggle from his remark, a smile spreads across his face focusing on his phone, but he quickly loses it, noticing Randy staring at him sipping on his coffee. "Umm, yeah. I'll see ya later. Bye." He puts the phone away knowing he has something to say.
"When are you going to tell her?" Randy asks, looking at Wally with a smirk.
"Tell her… what exactly?" he says nervously back putting on his new shirt.
"Don't bullshit me. I see the way you look at her and the way she looks at you back. You're not getting any younger. So say what you have on your mind before it's too late."
"Me? Young?" He snickers. "I don't even know how old I am. Heck, she probably doesn't really see me in a relationship type of way."
He approaches Wally and puts his hand on his shoulder. "I've been around the block a thousand times already to know what goes on round here." He looks around the shop. "One day I'll be too old to run this place." He looks at Wally. "I think I know the best person responsible to hand it over to."
Wally slowly backs off holding the packages. "Umm, well you're not kicking the bucket yet, plus you're talking crazy so go take your meds," he says, quickly leaving, making sure he had the last word before heading to the delivery truck. "Bye."
Giving a smirk exiting out the building, Wally was still able to hear Randy. "BYE MY ASS AND YOU BETTER TAKE CARE OF THAT DAMN TRUCK!" A glass cup is heard being tipped over. "GAWD DAMMIT!"
Driving through town to his first destination, he had to stop seeing a roadblock ahead. "Aww, crap," he sighs. Not being able to see, he gets out of the truck hearing gunfire at a distance.
Seeing a crowd of people blocking the road, he gets onto the bumper of the truck to check what's going on. "Hmm, some kind of… military group? Going up against…-"
"That military group is called The Resistance."
Wally hears a familiar young, high pitched voice and looks down. On the pavement, he sees Peanut, a young Pomeranian pup that blinks into existence when something out of the ordinary happens. Peanut stands there, looking up at Wally because he was standing at two and a half feet tall, wearing his bright yellow shirt and green shorts over his golden brown fur. "Hey Peanut, if you know so much, then who's the other group?" asked Wally.
"Some crazy arms group hiding in the forest. I think they're called BOA. Kinda weird seeing them since they never show themselves," Peanut answers, slowly trying to get on the truck.
Annoyed by the roadblock, he shakes his head at it. "Hopefully this stops. It's no wonder Molly told me to be… care…" Feeling the truck move, he looks to his side and sees Peanut eye to eye. Wally looks down and sees that he's standing on the truck's hood. He glares at him and demands, "Get off the truck."
"Dammit…" Peanut complains, jumping off.
Wally gets off the bumper and opens the driver's door. "Laters."
"Wha, you're leaving? You're not going to stay for the action?"
"Nope, I have things to deliver. That's what happens when you have a job."
"Ha, ha. I'll gloat about it when something cool happens."
Wally closes the door then quickly rolls down the window worried. He sticks his arm out and points at the fight. "Don't you dare, think about getting close to that. You stay right where you are… GOT IT?"
Peanut droops his shoulders and nods. "Alright."
He starts the truck. "See you around Peanut." He drives off, picking a different route.
After delivering three of the four packages, his phone rings. Wally smiles, knowing exactly who it is, he answers and puts him on speaker, "Commence the gloating."
"You totally missed it!" Peanut's voice is loudly heard, "The Resistance came in hard attacking back with guns and shit."
Wally narrows his eyes at the phone and chides, "Language."
He hears Peanut sigh in an annoyed way. "Sorry…"
"You didn't get close to the fight… right?"
"Umm… yuh- yeah, I- I wasn't close, but I did back away when I heard a fly go past my ear. That kinda scared me."
Wally slowly raises his hand and clenches it with gritted teeth.
Peanut continues, "You should've been there. When the BOA's got their… uh butts kicked, one of the BOA guys got dragged to the Lead Commander… Umm… I think his name is… Knuckles or something-"
Losing focus on the road, Wally's head begins to hurt as it starts pounding.
"-and once they dragged him to where he is… He straight up punches him hard in the GUT-"
Wally quickly grabs his head in pain. "GahAAHhhh!" Losing control, he crashes into the side of a building. Pulling away from the building, he then slams into a guardrail, flipping the truck over.
Dragging himself out, he was still able to hear Peanut's voice yelling from the phone, "Wally? Wally? Are you ok? WALLY? ANSWER!" until he went unconscious.
Wally suddenly jolts up and awakens in a sweat, feeling traumatized while breathing heavily, trying to calm down. He looks around, noticing that he's back at home, in his room, on his bed. Lying back down, he tries to remember what happened, but all he can think of is this Knuckles Red Echidna guy punching him in the gut. Remembering the sheer force of his knuckled fist going straight into his gut and completely rattling his insides. "Why?" he asks muttering, as he looks at his hands, seeing them trembling.
In fear, Wally hears, 'I didn't do it.'
Ignoring the voice, but still he answers it, "I didn't do it. Yeah I didn't… wait. What did I do?"
He puts his hands together and holds it close to himself able to feel himself tremble. "What did I do to make him mad at me? No. Why am I remembering something like that? This doesn't make any sense. That never happened to me… or did it?" He slowly gets out of bed and exits the room.
Molly, hearing the door open, enters the living room and sees Wally standing there by the doorway to his room. Concerned, she asks, "You're finally up. How are you doing?"
"Finally up? How long have I been out?" he says sitting down on the couch.
"Almost half a day, what's the last thing that you were doing?"
"I remember that I was almost done with my deliveries and then Peanut called. He was talking about the Resistance and suddenly I felt like something was being forced into my head, making me black out."
Concerned, she asks, "Into your head… Like what?"
"A memory. Yeah… 'cause once I woke up, I remembered something that I've never done before."
"You finally remembered something?" she sits down also.
"Yeah, and it has something to do with the Resistance." He looks at her. "When you first found me, what was I doing?"
"You came out of what seemed to be the forest and stood in the middle of the street. I was driving by and almost hit you."
"I was just standing there?"
"Yeah, just standing there, holding onto your head. You were completely out of it, like you were trying to get somewhere. Do you remember where you were going?"
Wally shakes his head, "No, but it felt weird."
"Weird?"
"Yeah, like I wasn't alone in the forest. Like someone was there with me, leading the way." He looks away from her and stares out the window.
She looks at the window asking, "Leading the way, to Nue Haven? Why?"
"I don't know, but somehow this place just felt familiar to me." He turns back to her, "Did I have anything on me from the forest?"
"Barely any clothes on… if you can even call it that."
"Can I see them? There's probably something on them."
She gets up. "Yeah, I still have it stored away." She leads him to her room.
Entering, she goes through her closet. "And… it's… this one." She pulls out a container and dumps everything out on her bed. "That's everything that was on you."
She watches him go through the tattered clothes, but also keeping an eye on how he reacts to it. She sees Wally hold up badly torn black shorts, noticing the massive hole in the crotch area. He puts four fingers into the hole and then turns to look at her embarrassed.
She smiles back. "It was a dark night. I didn't see much."
Wally then places them down and checks the weird looking shoes. One of the shoes had an orange button on it. As he presses it, the shoes side lights flicker, but then quickly run out of power and turn off. She looks back at his face as he gives an unsure look. "Do you see anything that looks familiar?"
Putting down the shoes, he then grabs the black vest that was also in bad shape. About to put it down, a little gadget falls out from one of the pockets. He looks down to the small device. "I don't see anything that I remember, but what's this?" When he picked it up, a button that he pressed on it lit up. "That turned it on, but nothing that I remember." He places it back down on the bed. "So I came out of the forest and Peanut said something about the Resistance." Pacing around, he remembers what Peanut said. "BOA…"
Knowing who they are, she asks, "BOA? What about them?"
"You said that I came out of the forest. Peanut said something about BOA being in the forest. Now they're here fighting the Resistance. That can't be some weird coincidence… right?"
"What do you have to do with the Resistance and BOA?"
"I don't know but it has something to do about me getting punched in the gut by the Lead Commander of the Resistance."
"Whatever it is should wait." She points at him. "You have to be starving. I was cooking breakfast." She gets up and leaves the room.
"Sounds great, I'm starving." Before leaving, he grabs the small lit up device and shoves it into his pocket.
Walking through the living room, he glances out of the front main window and sees Randy's delivery truck damaged as he was making his way into the kitchen. "No!" He quickly rushes back with his hands over his head. "OH SHIT! RANDY'S GOING TO KILL ME!"
"Yeah, about that," she says from the kitchen. "It might be damaged but it's not totaled. It's still drivable."
In panic, he tries to remain calm, "But, but still… loo -look at it."
She comes and drags him into the kitchen for breakfast. "It's fine."
"FINE? SURE… GO TELL THAT TO HIM!" his voice whines in the kitchen.
"Eat first then go face your doom."
While eating breakfast, Wally tries to think of an elaborate excuse. He sighs, looking at what had been the truck's side logo, which was now completely scraped off, as well its front end smashed in with the bumper missing. He sighs again, disappointed. Finishing his food, he dreads about returning the truck.
"Thought of anything?" Molly asks.
"Nothing. I'm just going to have to face Randy. But before I do that, I still have to deliver that last package." He gets up taking the dishes to the sink. He looks over to her seeing her still in her PJ's, then looks at what time it is being 8am. 'She should be at work but she stayed at home to watch over me?' "So… what are your plans for the day?"
She stretches while saying, "Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It's rare to get a day off and I'm going to spend every second of it… in… this… house. Nothing's going to get me to leave."
Wally glances over at her bedroom door from across the living room, and notices her gaming headset. He asks, "Are you still giving that one dude a hard time in KnightFort?"
"Me!?" she asks in defense. "He's the one giving me a problem. I just mind my own business building my tower in peace, while I can hear him complain about it. Call's me every bad word in the book too. I can tell he's a wolf by the frustrated growling he does."
"And you take him down the same way?"
"Yup. Assault rifle to the chest every…single…time." She catches him looking at the clock knowing that he's stalling to leave.
He sighs going through his pockets for his keys. He says worriedly, "I'm out of here. See you at my funeral."
"Bye," she says laughing, seeing him head to the front door exiting out. She looks over to her gaming headset and sighs, getting up from her seat. "Alright, Z. Tailor. I know I'm going to bump into you again."
Reaching and getting into the truck, he searches for the last package. "Yes," he says, relieved that it's still in one piece. He looks at the address. "Shit, all the way outside of town? Geez." He puts the key into ignition.
"Please don't blow up," he pleads. Turning the key, the engine starts. "Thank you," he whispers out in relief and drives off.
Upon reaching his destination he honks the horn, which sounds like an animal getting killed. He gets out, package in hand. "Here you go. Sorry for being a little late."
"A little?" the owner says back, annoyed by the apology.
Wally looks over to the truck ashamed, "I uhh, ran into some trouble."
The owner also looks at the truck surprised by it. "Woah! Is the driver okay?"
Wally turns back to look at him answering, "You're looking at him."
"And you drove it like that to here?" he asks checking Wally out.
"That's what the finest automotive parts can do."
"Apology accepted," he says in disbelief as he signs for the package.
"Thank you." He walks back to the truck as the sound of a vehicle pulls up behind him.
A black glossy camo military SUV comes to a stop, as one of them in protected gear exits out asking, "Hey, are you Chris?"
Wally hearing his voice, he looks over his shoulder seeing all of them step out. "What?" he asks, confused.
"Are. You. Chris?" The one in charge asks as he gets closer.
"No. Sorry, I'm not," Wally answers back seeing four unknown soldiers approach him as they surround him.
"Bull, look," one of them says pulling out a picture showing it to the other three. "It's him."
The one in charge looks at the picture, then right back to Wally. "Hmmph!" He smiles and goes for his gun but before he can point it, the wind picks up as something quickly zooms by, taking one of them out making him yell out in pain. "AHhhh!"
"SHIT! IT'S HIM! TAKE HIM OUT!" They pull out their weapons and start firing.
Wally quickly covers his ears and ducks to show he isn't a threat. 'What the hell is going on?' He wanted to move, but couldn't muster up the courage to do it until one of the guys gets thrown at the truck, slamming into it and scaring him to move. "GAH! Shit!" He quickly jumps into the truck to start it.
"Stop. It's ok. You're safe now."
A different voice is heard. He slowly turns and looks at a blue hedgehog on the side mirror.
Rewind to Metropolis City…
At Tails Workshop, Sonic tries to sleep on Tails' couch, but… Beep! Boop! …Beep! Boop! A device keeps activating on the floor, waking him up. He opens one eye glaring at it. "Did it finally stop? Geez. Thought it would-" Beep! "AAHHHhhh! TAILS! SHUT THIS THING OFF!"
"What is it?" Tails asks, walking into the room.
Sonic picks it up and looks at it from all angles, "I don't know, but I'm about to throw it out the window." He tosses the device to Tails.
Tails catches it, wondering what it is. With a quick inspection, it was his tracker. Observing it, he figures out that something has been activated, causing the tracker to turn on. On the screen, it showed his own dot in yellow, Sonic's dot in blue and another dot in green being… His eyes widened in disbelief. He reaches out behind him, searching for a chair to sit down on…
Sonic then asks, "So what is it? Did you figure out what-" He hears something hitting the floor. "Huh?" He glances back over and sees the chair tipped over with Tails on the floor unconscious. "Tails?" He rushes over to him. "Wake up. C'mon, snap out of it."
Tails slowly regains consciousness. He looks at the locator not believing what's on it. "Are… are you playing a prank on me…? Because this is taking it too far!" he asks, picking up the locator.
"No… not this time." Sonic glances at a water bucket balancing on a door frame. "What is it?"
Tails still focuses on the locator as he tries to explain, "You're not… going to believe this… but… this is Chris's tracking device. It's been activated."
Sonic stands up, sounding uncertain. "Are you sure? I don't want to see you get sad on a wild goose chase."
Tails remains on the floor, and looks away from the tracker staring up at Sonic. "True, but how long has it been since we've had an adventure?"
Sonic chuckles. "Too long. So where are we off to?"
Tails goes back to his locator as he presses buttons deciphering its location. "From what I'm seeing… its north… around…-" he remains silent in disbelief.
Sonic crosses his arm pointing out his reaction, "That's the kind of silence, that has to be important. Where is it?"
"Its…It's…" He looks up to Sonic finishing, "Its located in Nue Heaven. That's where we first met."
"Really? Knuckles was just there yesterday, taking care of a problem. Could this have anything to do with that?"
Tails smiles eager to go, "Want to go on a wild goose chase?"
They both set out to Nue Heaven by air with the Tornado. Sonic quickly hops out as soon as they arrive. "Geez… that was a long flight."
Tails also gets out and looks at the locator. "It was only twenty minutes."
"It still felt long. So where are we headed to?"
Adjusting his locator but also getting annoyed by it. "I don't know. At first everything was okay but… geez, now it just keeps pointing everywhere. I can tell where it first started but after that, I can't seem to narrow it down."
Sonic stretches, "Welp… Let's get this wild goose chase a go. Give me some hints and I'll go check them out. You go to where it first started." He puts out his fist for a fist bump.
Tails sees it and connects with it. "Sounds good to me." He goes through his pouch taking out a second locator. "You should start at this spot first," he says pointing at it.
Looking at where Tails is pointing to in the center of town, he asks wondering, "That doesn't seem like any random spot, why there?"
"It's a Hardware Store where we first met. He spotted me when I was hiding inside of it when I was scavenging for stuff."
"Alright," he grabs it and notices a crowd across the street looking at them. He raises up a hand and waves to them all.
Across the street where the crowd gathers to see them, Peanut arrives, excited, getting a chance to see them as he squirms his way in front of the crowd. "No way… Sonic? …Here? This is awesome." Grabbing his phone he crosses the street. "Wally has got to know about this. I hope he's doing okay now." He calls him but he doesn't pick up. "Huh?" Looking at his phone, he realizes that he has no service. "That's weird." He looks back to Sonic, but he is already gone. "Damn, why no service?"
Peanut then looks to his left, noticing someone dressed in overly protective, black glossy gear with a skull dog mask on, looking directly back. Once he realizes that Peanut sees him, he begins walking towards him.
Beginning to panic, Peanut runs back across the street heading to the crowd running straight through them. Not stopping, he runs down the sidewalk, reaching the corner of the block. He looks back to check if he really was coming for him. "Okay… I'm okay. No need to panic. He was only walking-"
The crowd steps aside, opening up, and like a nightmare coming to life before his very eyes, his pursuer walks through them as they all watch.
'PANIC, PANIC, PANIC,' Was the only thing in his mind. Peanut yells out for help as he points, "HELP! HE'S AFTER ME!"
Someone from the crowd shouts out, "HEY?! LEAVE HIM-"
The masked figure quickly un-holsters his side-arm and aims it at the crowd pulling the trigger hitting one of them.
The crowd quickly flees in terror unable to help as one of them shouts, "RUN PEANUT! RUN!"
The masked figure then turns back to Peanut and continues to his approach with gun in hand.
In utter panic, Peanut quickly runs across the street and proceeds to run down the sidewalk. Trying to get as far away as he can, he slowly comes to a stop noticing a weird Black SUV driving around.
The car comes to a stop, does a quick U-Turn and heads in his direction.
"Wh- WHY?" In terror, he rushes into an alleyway and runs down it.
Halfway down the alley, a fence blocks his path, making him stop and frantically climb up it. Once reaching the top, his shorts get snagged on one of the links. "GAh! No…" He looks down behind him seeing the Masked Man run into the alleyway. "NO!" He pulls and pulls until his shorts rip, getting him loose and causing him to almost fall off the fence.
As he climbs down the fence, the Masked Man gives the fence a powerful boot, causing him to fall the rest of the way down, landing on his back. Peanut quickly gets up and runs, hearing the Masked Man climb the fence.
Not stopping, he makes a right and hides, squirming between two dumpsters.
Quietly hiding while trying to calm his breathing, he closes his eyes. He can hear the SUV's motor echo from within the alleyway, followed by heavy footsteps from boots.
The footsteps then stop as he can hear him growling underneath his mask. "Dammit," he says frustrated in a deep voice. Peanut slowly opens his eyes seeing that he's right next to the dumpster. He sees him pull out his radio in anger, "I fucking lost him. …Yeah, I'm in an alleyway. Don't worry, he won't be able to call him with the jammer running." He kicks the dumpster in fury, "YES, I KNOW SONIC IS HERE! WE HAVE TO FIND HIM FIRST BEFORE HE DOES! I'm getting out of here to meet up with you." Once he leaves, Peanut stays hidden, making sure it was really safe to come out.
He looks at his phone again that still displayed no signal. "Why did he want me? …Why? Wally? Is it because I know him? I've got to find him. Why are they after him?" He slowly squirms out from between the dumpsters and looks around. With caution, he slowly walks to the end of the alleyway making sure that it's safe. Peeking around the corner of the building, he sees more SUV's driving around. "This is not good." He goes back into the alley, worried. "Where are you, Wally?"
Meanwhile at a residential part of town, Tails reaches the starting point of his tracker. "It starts here." He looks away from his tracker and directly straight ahead. "Starts with this house." Approaching the house, he gives the doorbell a ring. Looking down at his locator again, he hears the door open up. He smiles hoping that it's him, only to see a female sky blue hedgehog in PJ's instead.
"Hi," she answers.
Tails waves back. "Umm, Hi. I'm looking for someone. Is someone named Chris living here?"
"No sorry, you got the wrong place," she answers.
"Umm, ok. Sorry for bothering you. Bye," he says as he turns around.
As the door is about to close behind him, she says, "Cute kid."
Tails rolls his eyes, annoyed. "Kid? …I'm not a…" He looks back at his locator and starts walking towards wherever it is pointing. "I can only go onward from here and follow the breadcrumbs."
Sonic speeds all over town, checking every street, and famous places that anyone will go. He quickly stops and checks the first spot Tails mentioned. "Over there?" He points the locator at a hardware Store. "Nothing." Looking up at one of the main windows of the shop, he sees a brown old rabbit staring right back… with a coffee stain on his shirt. He gives a greeting as Sonic returns one back. "Got to go."
He rushes to another spot. "What about here? Annnd nothing."
While looking at the locator, he notices that it points one way, then switches back to a different spot and then goes right back. Confused by it, he exhales, irritated, "Geez, this tracker doesn't want to make its mind up."
He looks over at one of the buildings and gets an idea. Looking up at the roof, he wonders, "Hmmm, maybe if I can get to a high enough spot? That might help." He checks around. "Now how do I get onto the…" Searching for a way, he notices an officer swinging his handcuffs around with just his finger staring right back. Sonic gives back an awkward apologetic smile as he points, "He, he… Nice roof," and speeds off.
"Tails will kill me if I get in trouble with the law. There has to be something outside of town… maybe a hill?" He zips out of town in search of a hill high enough, until he finds one. "See Tails, I can think of something smart… every once in a while."
Screeching to a stop on top of the hill, he checks the tracker again. "…What?" Confused by it, he looks up to the town and then turns around facing away from it. "That way? Outside of town? Uhhh, okay." He messes with his communicator on his wrist. "Hey Tails, your crazy tracker is making me head out of town. Have you found anything yet?"
He waits for a response, but gets static interference instead.
He puts his ear next to it, "What's that?"
More static interference.
"Go check it out?"
Low pitch static!
"Got it, I'll go do a quick check and come back." He turns off his communicator and quickly speed boosts away.
He speeds down the road, passing farms. Throughout the whole journey, to his right, there was nothing but dense forest. But for some reason, he couldn't shake the feeling that it felt like he was being watched.
Going off-road and getting away from the forest, he speeds through a grand open field until he reaches an auto shop with what looks like thugs trying to rob someone. "Uh oh. Looks like someone's in trouble-" He sees one of them go for their gun. "Gotta go fast." He rushes in quickly, picking up dust to blind them all as he comes rushing back, tackling one and then flipping him away. "AHhhh!" He lands on top of a car and bounces off it, then lands on the pavement head first.
"SHIT! IT'S HIM! TAKE HIM OUT!" one of them shouts as they all fire at him.
Dodging gunfire, he sees one of them needing to reload, giving him an opportunity to jump in and kick him in the face with enough force to send him slamming onto the ground.
Sonic then jumps into the air, doing a spin dash into another thug and sending him flying, into the truck.
After bouncing from the attack, he lands on all four and looks up at the last thug that in charge.
The thug in charge aims as he taunts, "Dodge this!" He pulls the trigger as the bullets phase through Sonic.
Rewind three seconds
The thug in charge aims and fires… but Sonic effortlessly ducks and sways to the side, seeing the bullets slowly go right by him as he rushes up to the thug punching him directly in the face dazing him.
He then rapidly jabs him in the gut, followed with an uppercut to the jaw, putting an end to the fight.
Cracking his knuckles, he comments, "Crime doesn't pay… unless you're in the business for pain, then I am willing to contribute." As he hears the truck start, he remembers that he needs to reassure the driver that he was safe. "Stop. It's ok. You're safe now." Standing there seeing the door open he gets surprised who steps out.
Wally steps out of the truck to give his thanks, but Sonic stands there, looking back speechless. "Umm, thanks for the rescue."
Sonic just stood there and kept looking at him not saying anything.
Wally cautiously looks around. "Umm, how can I ever repay-"
"HAHAHA!" Sonic shouts, "IT'S YOU!" Sonic quickly jumps at him, hugging him. Wally gets surprised by it. Sonic releases and looks him over again. "Tails is going to be happy to see you again."
"I- uhh, I- I am sorry-"
"Sorry? About what? YOU'RE BACK!" Sonic interrupts him, being excited.
"No. What I meant is that y- you have the wrong person. You're mistaking me for somebody else."
Sonic looks over him again, knowing that he's not wrong. "I'm not. It's you. Right? You're Chris. …Right?"
"Again with Chris. No. My name is Wally."
Sonic shakes his head and looks at him unhappy. "He was right about coming back different," he mutters.
"What? What are you talking about?" he asks.
Sonic looks at him. "It's a long story, but I think you should have Tails explain everything to you."
Wally shakes his head. "I'm not sure. I have things that I have to-"
"Nuh-uh," Sonic quickly interrupts him. "You're not going anywhere without me. We're heading back to town together to meet up with Tails."
Wally coming to terms that he can't get rid of him, he agrees. "Fine. Looks like I can't get rid of you." He gets back into the truck as the passenger door opens entering Sonic. A bit annoyed he asks, "So I'm Wally. And you are?"
He points at himself with his thumb. "I'm Sonic. Sonic The Hedgehog."
He puts the truck into drive, but while keeping an eye on the road… out of the corner of his eye he notices Sonic just looking at him. "Will you stop looking at me?"
"Right… sorry."
"You said you were looking for me? Who are you working with?" he cautiously asks, wondering if Sonic's with BOA or the Resistance.
"I'm not working with anyone, but my buddy Tails has been hoping to see you again."
Driving up a hill road, almost reaching the top as Wally says, "Again? The only people I know are the people in… this… what the fu…?" he stops the truck and watches as the town is under attack. He hears the passenger door open.
"You need to get to the landing strip quickly," Sonic tells him.
Wally refuses, shaking his head worried. "I don't think so. I have to make sure my friends are okay."
"I'm telling you to head-"
"And I don't care what you say," Wally snaps back. "I'm going to go find my friends like it or not."
"Alright, just be careful and don't-" An explosion goes off interrupting Sonic as he turns to it. He then turns to Wally, giving him one last look and speeds off.
Wally sits in the truck staring at the chaos happening to the town. "This is not because of me… right? …Right?" He drives into town in the hope that he can find his friends.
