As the 2 pandas plus the tiger walk into village, they've owned weird glances from all the villagers in town square, setting up their dinner.
Li sighed and walked up to the dance floor to grab everyone's attention, "Pandas. This is Master Tigress." He gestured to the feline, who felt like she was being put on the spot, "She is not here to attack us, she is here to protect us and teach us a sacred art. We will accept her as our own and treat her the same way you treat yourselves. That is all, enjoy your dinner."
As the father finished his speech, he looked to his son, Lotus, who mouthed him a 'thank you' with a relieved smile. Li just nodded back and went up to the 2 to lead them to their seats. When the young panda and the tigress found their seats, they were approached by a bunch of baby cubs. They have never seen a tiger before, so the new discovery was thrilling.
Lotus, who recognised the kids, easily eased up to them when they came his way. He would usually play with the other kids other than talk to people his age, he finds kids much more open minded since their new lives and curiousity opens them up to so many experiences, nothing like adults who had it hard in his time in the village. The kids had so much ahead of them, so he could teach them anything they need or want to know and they would be open about it! (Unless they're asking abut where babies come from, then he gets nervous and tries to avoid that question.)
The kids love him too, especially the orphans who sympathise with Lotus about losing parental figures. They're always excited when he tells them stories of the worlds beyond the village, or the myths that have been told for centuries. Some kids think of him as an uncle, others think of him as a father. Such as a certain panda cub with violet eyes and cute little pigtails named Lei Lei who was staring at the foreign creature right next to Lotus with an awestruck expression along with the rest of the panda children.
They were all under the table at the feet of the 2 adults and continued to stare intently at the feline. She grew a bit uncomfortable from the looks of intrigue, but Lotus was much more welcoming to them. "Hey kids!" He bent forwards to duck under the table. "What's up?"
Suddenly, one of the kids with a tiny red hat and a jacket, going by the name of Bao, pointed towards Master Tigress, "WHOA! SHE'S EVEN COOLER UP CLOSE!"
As if it was a war call, all the panda cubs began to climb on the 2's laps. Tigress grew stiff in both nervousness and surprise at the sudden acceptance from the children invaded on her lap. one kid stayed low and played with her super long tail. "WOW! IT LOOKS LIKE A LARGE COLORFUL NOODLE!" The panda exclaimed from behind, trying to grab the tiger's tail before she swiped it away from the cub's reach on instinct.
Lotus just chuckled at the tiger beside him being harassed by the flood of babies while Lei Lei shyly cuddled into his midsection on his lap. When Tigress glared at him for laughing at the clearly humiliating scene, it only encouraged him to laugh more, but he did have the heart to try and cover it with his paw over his maw. (Empathise on the word 'try'.)
"SHE'S ORANGE! MY FAVORITE COLOR!" Another kid exclaimed happily as she stroked her fur. 3 triplets clung themselves to her head and both her shoulders, "And her fur is so soft!" They all sighed against her fur.
"Um... what?" Was all Tigress could say in that moment as the baby pandas continued to mess with her. Lotus just watched the scene unfold infront of him with an amused expression on his face. "At least you get along with the kids well," He joked, making Tigress grumble.
"A little assistance would be appreciated, panda." She growled, but Lotus just shook his head with a smug smile. "Lemme introduce you!" He pointed to the boy with the tiny red hat that was sitting on the tiger's lap, "That's Bao," He pointed to the triplets, "that's KuKu, Mei-Mei, and Shwei-Shwei," He looked behind Tigress, "The one who likes your tail is JoJo," He took Lei Lei from his lap and presented her to the feline, "And this little lily pad, is Lei Lei!"
"That's a lot of kids..." Tigress murmured as Lei Lei stared at her with big starry eyes. "Stripey baby! Beautiful!" Lei Lei beamed and reached out to the hardcore warrior. Tigress somewhat blushed. She was always very gentle with children, but most of the people from where she is from are a little bit... intimidated by her. No one has ever called her beautiful before, especially a child. Assuming the cub wanted to be held by Tigress, she reluctantly and gently held her by the arm pits and held her in front of her face.
She was very much intrigued by this particular cub. Her big, beady violet eyes, her tiny paws, her adorable chubby cheeks, she looked like the most precious thing in the whole world. She tilted her head, Lei Lei followed her movement. Tigress cocked up an eyebrow, so did Lei Lei. Tigress turned to Lotus, either for approval or guidance, he didn't seem to know nor care. He was trying his absolute hardest not to coo over how admittedly cute the 2 interacted. Lotus just nodded his head eagerly in a gesturing movement to let this continue. Tigress rolled her eyes and faced Lei Lei again. She quickly glanced around before sticking her tongue out at the cub, only for Lei Lei to copy her movement before bursting out in laughter. This caused a small fond smile to slowly spread across the tiger's face.
Lotus continued watching the scene with a lovestruck expression, "I think she likes you..." Tigress turned to him, still smiling. Oh how that smile made quite an affect on him. Seeing the master's usually stoic and hard-core expression vanish into one of kindness and calmness as she gently held the cub made Lotus see a new light in her. He sighed. He never knew how much a simple grin from his hero could make him feel tingly and warm inside.
"What kind of panda are you?" Bao asked from the master's lap, "I've never seen an orange striped panda before!" Tigress' continued to smile at the child's behavior and set Lei Lei right next to the little boy, "I'm not a panda, child. I'm a tiger."
Bao's eyes sparkled in awe, "Whoa! A tiger? I've never seen a tiger before! Lotus told us a LOT about them though!"
Tigress looked at the jaded eyed panda who was now looking to the side sheepishly, "Did he, now?" She asked, very interested.
Lotus nervously chuckled and rubbed the back of his head, it seemed to be a habit for him, "Y-yeah, well, I'm not an expert, but I know a few things..." He mumbled humbly.
Tigress' smile returned at Lotus' shy demeanor, 'He's cute when he's nervous..' She froze as her cheeks burned up and she tore her eyes away from him, 'Wait what?' The call of the dinner gong went off and a huge bowl of dumplings was set on the table, pulling the tiger from her thoughts. She looked up at the panda woman in front of her, trying to give her a smile without trembling. Now, that, that was familiar to her. Adults shaking in fear at the sight of her. She looked at her surroundings. The others were still staring at her. What shocked her was how they were staring at her. They didn't seem very nervous, just curious as to how she's treating the children surrounding her. 'Guess they've never seen a tiger with kids before... or for that matter... anyone else.'
Lotus sensed her discomfort, and eased her thoughts by whispering gently in her ear, "Don't worry about them. They're just not used to change, that's all." He smiled against the feline's twitching ear. His soothing and comforting voice against her fur made her feel... weird. But a good weird. Why? She didn't know yet, nor did she know how to reply, so she just nodded her head in understanding and turned back to the kids against her lap. Kids just had a way of calming her down. She watched them gobble the dumplings given out, feeling a mix of emotions. She felt a bit uneasy about their slobbery way of eating, but at the same time, she can't really judge them. This is their culture and tradition. And who was she to try and rid of it just because she seemed a bit uncomfortable. Still, that didn't stop her from taking out her handicap and wiping Lei Lei's mouth, that was filled with crumbs and drool. The cub giggled in thanks and started eating again.
Lotus, who was reading a story in a scroll he had with him, turned to Tigress' somewhat bemused face. "She's only 4 years old, she doesn't talk much," He shrugged and went back to reading.
Tigress noticed how carefully and respectfully he was eating compared to his peers. She also noticed how they all talked amongst each other, but seemed to have left the panda out. Not that he seemed to mind though, being buried in his own story. She then remembered what he told her before at the lotus tree, 'And I kinda know what you mean when you feel you don't belong..'
He certainly wasn't kidding when he talked about being an outcast, that's for sure. She gently put the kids on the table to enjoy the rest of their meal and scooched over to the panda. She wasn't that hungry anyway. This one panda seemed far more intriguing than food. She felt some sort of... pull of force towards him, to say the least. She didn't know how to explain it, she just... felt it. And coming from someone who hasn't felt in about 20 years, this guy must be pretty damn special to make her feel the way she does with him.
'Then again...' She thought to herself, 'He and I aren't so different... we're actually much more similar than we seem.. somewhat...' Next thing she knew, she was looking over his clothed shoulder into the scroll.
"What are you reading?"
"AGH!" Lotus jumped in his seat, startled. He panted with each breath and turned to Tigress who was looking at him with wide-eyes. He chuckled embarrassed, "Sorry, you just scared me a little.."
"I've noticed." She said dryly as her face dropped to a deadpan expression. Lotus chuckled again and looked back into his scroll, "I'm just reading a little story."
Of course, not being satisfied with his answer, Tigress leaned closer to him to get a better view of the scroll.
'The Dragon Prince'. Tigress' eyes widened a little. It was an ancient romance story. Not to mention it was a mix of fantasy and philosophical thinking. The writing was full of obscure sonnets and riddled with clues that take years of mental training to understand all that is being said in the story. Of course, Tigress already mastered it in her years at the Jade Palace, but the others still have yet to crack it. The closest one to get the story was Crane, which was where he actually got his level-headness from. But judging by Lotus' expression, it was like he was reading his favorite children's book!
"How do you know 'The Dragon Prince'?" She looked up at him with a quirked eyebrow. Lotus turned to her confused before shrugging his shoulders, "Well, my dad travelled very few times out of the Village when we were just settling in. I was around 3 or 4 when he got me this story. I guess he didn't know it was full of sonnets, heh, he definitely wouldn't have gotten it for his 4 year old boy if he knew." Lotus laughed quietly at the memory, "At first, like many others I can imagine, I did not get anything in this story. But I've been studying this along with a bunch of other written sonnets when I was in my teen years. It's actually my favorite story now!" He beamed happily. Tigress was, to say the least, shocked. She was given the 'Dragon Prince' book when she just started in the Furious 5. Lotus had it ever since he could barely walk or talk!
"I've actually learned a lot from one of Europe's most fascinating writer, Shakespeare!" That made Tigress almost fall out of her seat. No one was able to get their hands on Shakespeare's copies because his writings were half way around the world! "Lotus, are you sure you haven't gone out of the panda village? You do realise that 'Europe's most fascinating writer' is located in... Europe, correct?"
Lotus' expression softened, "My mother loved travelling a lot. Dad says she was quite an adventurer. She would travel the whole world. She still has his copies to this day." He looked up at the starry sky, as if he could feel her presence over him.
Tigress looked down to the bit of space on the bench they were sitting on, and focused her eyes on how close her paw was to his. She felt anxiety wash over her and removed her paw away before she could move any closer. "You miss her a lot... don't you?"
Lotus looked back into his scroll and muttered under his breath bitterly, "How can you miss someone you don't even know?"
That one line made the hardcore master's heart sting. Her ember eyes focused on the grass between her feet. "I see.."
'"You see"? Sure yeah, why don't you get 'the most comforting person to be around' award. idiot!' She mentally kicked herself. But what else was she supposed to say?
She was about to open her mouth and apologise, when musical instruments started playing at the center of the dance floor. Soon a ribbon dancer in a pink kimono appeared on the stage and began her show. Tigress looked on in curiosity, the lady panda was very beautiful. Before she knew it thought she was dragged down by a familiar hand.
She looked to her captor and saw Lotus crouched just under a table with the scroll wide open, covering both his and now her heads. He seemed to be very nervous for some reason. Tigress narrowed her eyes at him, "Is there a particular reason you practically dislocated my arm just to hide yourself from a dancer?" And just when you think he couldn't be anymore of an outsider. She looks at all the other panda men and see them practically gawking over the ribbon dancer. Lotus seemed to be the only man who has shown clear disinterest in her. 'Does he even have a type?' She asks herself, 'I wonder if he prefers felines... wait... what did I just say!? And why do I care!?'
Lotus' voice broke her from her confusing thoughts, "That's Mei-Mei! She's either obsessed with me or herself! Hard to tell with her honestly. My dad wants me to court her, but she's a little..." He grimaced and shuddered. 'Another Mei-Mei? That's going to be confusing...' The feline thought, before looking at him curiously, "A little what?"
Just then, Lotus' scroll was snatched away in a red silk ribbon and brought to the front. He darts up only to see the panda in question holding his scroll in her ribbon with a smirk on her face. He groans and covers his face in one hand, "A little that."
"Wow, sticking your face in a story when I made this show special for you? I'm offended," Mei-Mei coos playfully, whipping the scroll on her ribbon around. Lotus and Tigress bit their lips. That scroll was very delicate and held such great knowledge. It's practically sacred! Not to mention fragile. If something were to happen to it, it's practically worthless. A book with such knowledge and wisdom, wasted.
"Mei-Mei!" Lotus whined, "Be careful with that! It's very delicate! Could you please give it back?" He begged, bouncing a bit in anxiety. Tigress looked around at all the pandas chuckling under their breaths at the scene. They were laughing at him. Her ears flattened against her head and she looked back to the front where the dancer was. She felt a growl in the back of her throat. She did not like how Mei-Mei was treating Lotus.
Mei Mei just giggled and twirled around some more, "Only if you dance with me, Lu-Lu!" She winked. Tigress snarled a bit louder at the nickname. 'She sure as hell has some nerve.' She felt her eyes turn into slits.
Lotus buried his head in his paws, "Mei-Mei! It's not funny! Give it back!" He etched around the table as the laughter grew louder. He blushed in embarrassment. 'this is SO uncool!' He thought as he looked down sheepishly. "Aw, no need to be so shy around me, Lu-Lu. I'm just messing with—"
Soon everyone froze as they saw a blur of orange and black flip over the table and land right in front of the dancer. Mei-Mei gasped at the newcomer, who so happened to be the tigress herself.
Master Tigress held out her arm and looked firmly at the panda, "I believe he asked you to give his scroll back to him."
Not really willing to anger the tiger more, Mei-Mei shakily took the scroll and carefully put it in her open palm. Tigress' expression softened and bowed slightly before turning to the now awestruck panda, and gave the scroll to him. "Here you go, Lotus." She says in her usually monotone and sweet voice.
Lotus' cheeks heated up at her soothing and enchanting tone, involuntarily breaking into a grin, "Th-thank you.." They took in their surroundings and noticed everyone staring oddly at them, a bit awkward by the situation.
Tigress, feeling a little guilty, bowed her head in shame, "Apologies, I did not mean to make you all uncomfortable..." She murmured. Lotus had to admit, she looked a bit cute when she's bashful, he gave a wholehearted chuckle, "You have nothing to apologise for, silly!" He looked around at everyone still staring at them, "Though I do believe we've gotta take our leave now... It's late anyways and the kids need to sleep." He smiled kindly at her.
Tigress couldn't help but smile back when she saw his grin. She nodded and the 2 awkwardly left the dance floor and picked up the kids before descending on the road. 'Well that was embarrassing...' She couldn't help but think to herself. She didn't know why she lost her cool back there, sure that scroll was important, especially to Lotus, but it was still just a story. Maybe it was the shameless flirting that annoyed Tigress? Or the nicknames? Or just how Mei-Mei is with Lotus all together? But why did that bother her so much?
Bao, seeming to sense her embarrassment, plopped himself over Lotus' shoulder to look at the tiger master holding Lei Lei, who was walking just behind them, "Well, I think it's pretty cool what you did there! Especially that flip! I wish I could do awesome stuff like that, but the best I could do is kick a ball into the air!" He says excitedly.
Tigress smiled in fondness and walked closer behind Lotus to pet Bao's head, "Thank you, child, but you shouldn't doubt yourself. I know when you are more experienced you will do great things someday. Do remember though that you are still an infant with a whole life ahead of you, so make the most of it. Besides, how I acted was quite inappropriate of me."
The triplets—who were also being carried by Lotus (He insisted on taking the rest of the kids on his own without the assistance of Master Tigress, much to her annoyance)—looked back at her and murmured credulously in disagreement.
"No way!"
"It was awesome!"
"You were just trying to help Uncle Lotus!"
Tigress' smile widened a bit in pride, "You all are too kind, really.." She wasn't used to this kind of attention. Even after 10 years of being recognised as Master Tigress, she didn't get as much praise as she's being given now, especially since everyone was too scared to talk to her. They all took a more liking to her teammates, and though she is happy that they get credited the way they do, she does like being in the spotlight a little.
Especially if that spotlight seemed to be looking right at her. She glanced up at Lotus who was beaming at her. 'There's that look again!' She exclaimed in her head, 'Why does he keep doing that?!'
Soon the 2 adults arrived at a big wooden house, and without hesitation Lotus went inside. Tigress was a bit confused, she didn't know they all lived in the same house? Come to think of it, she hasn't even seen all the children's parents in her time of knowing them. She would've thought they would've come to pick them up or check on them at some point...
The jaded eyed panda peeked his head out and gestured Tigress inside, "Come on! Don't wanna keep Lei Lei tuckered out!" Tigress looked down at the sleeping cub in her arms, and smiled warmly. She really is the most precious thing in the world. She came inside to be met by a cozy and homey atmosphere. wood and bamboo surrounded the walls like all the other buildings here, and the whole area looked like a children's daycare. She followed Lotus through the halls and kept close by, before finally asking in a whisper, "Where are all the parents?"
Lotus winced and tried to stop Tigress from asking, until Bao, the only one still half-awake, darted his eyes from the tiger to the older panda, "What is she talking about, baba Lotus?"
Tigress' eyes widened and looked at the nervous panda with raised eyebrows and mouth left agape. Lotus tried to keep a smile up for the boy in his arms, "Nothing Bao, don't worry about it." The realisation hit Tigress like a hundred bricks. These kids... they were orphans. She bit her tongue, another mistake. 'I have got to stop slipping up like that!' What was that they said about curiosity killing the cat?
Lotus led Mei-Mei and Shwei-Shwei to the girls bed room, suggesting Tigress to follow. He put each of the girls in their beds with a free hand and tucked them in, before adjusting his arms so the remaining boys would take each of them. He glanced at Tigress who was putting Lei Lei in her assigned bed and taking extra time tucking her in. He smiled at her mother-like behavior before he went to the hall across to put the boys in their room.
After Tigress catered to the young one, she turned around and was about to leave when she heard a mumble...
"Thank you mama.."
She felt her heart sink and melt at the same time. The fact that after just a few moments of holding her, the young cub already saw her as such a figure made Tigress feel such warm things she hasn't felt in so many years. But to yin out that yang there's also the fact that she... a tiger... would be the closest thing Lei Lei would have to a mother figure... Tigress had felt that pain. But unlike Lei Lei, she never had a mother figure, no one to take care of her but herself, and so it was a personal vow she made for herself that if a mother is what she needed to be for this one cub... so be it.
She gently closes the door and glances inside the boys room, only to see Lotus seated at the foot of Bao's bed. "Lotus, I don' wanna sleep..." He mumbled through tiresome eyes. Lotus grinned in amusement, "You have to, buddy. It's not good for you to miss out on sleep."
"Bu.. I wanna play with the tiger more..." The little boy yawned. Lotus rolled his eyes, a fond smile never leaving his face. "How about... I sing you our favorite lullaby?" Bao instantly sat up and clapped his hands in excitement, "Yes please!" He crawled on Lotus' lap as he chuckled and took the cub in his big arms. Tigress was very much intrigued with their little interaction. She leaned against the door frame and crossed her arms against her chest.
Lotus took off Bao's small hat and placed it on a nightstand that still had a candle illuminating from it. He slowly rocked in his seat with Bao clinging on to him, as he started to sing...
"Moonbeams and starlight...
Magical Twilight...
The warmest Ray...
Hear it whispering your name..."
Tigress felt entranced by Lotus' song. His voice was soft and gentle, and held nothing but kindness and purity, as it strung Bao to sleep against his warm belly, all while the very panda stroked the child's head in comfort. Never in her life has she ever heard such... enchantment, just by a single lullaby. A lullaby she has never even heard of before. Her heart warmed as she felt some sort of peace wash over her by the sound of his voice, as if it couldn't be anymore soothing...
She closed her eyes and let herself drown in his voice as he continued...
"Rainbows at midnight...
Sparkling night skies...
Don't go away...
Stay another day..."
Once he confirmed the cub was fully asleep, He put Bao in his cot and kissed his forehead before blowing the candle. "Goodnight Bao..." He whispered as he got up and turned to the door, only to be frozen by the tigress herself, giving him a smirk.
He darted his eyes to the side as his cheeks warmed up, thankful it was really dark, "Um... how long have you been standing there..?"
Tigress' smirked wider, she certainly loved messing with the usually confident panda, "Long enough to realise you can sing..." She whispered back before leaving the room.
Lotus just shook his head quickly and followed her out. Once they were a good distance away, Tigress finally decided to break the silence, "You really do care for these children."
Lotus shrugged with a cheesy smile, "Eh, what can I say, I love kids!" He chuckled.
Tigress shared a ghost of a smile and looked forward, "You would make a great father one day..."
On the inside she was internally screaming with herself, 'WHY DID I JUST SAY THAT!? WHY DO I IMAGINE HIM BEING A FATHER!? GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER FOR THE LOVE OF—'
"Oh thanks! You'd make a great mother too!" He replied with that smile again. Tigress looked away to hide her blush, 'Why does he keep giving me that look!?'
There was another moment of silence as they walked up the snowy mountain to the upcoming bridge to his hut, and this time it was Lotus' turn to break the silence, "I never got to thank you for what you did for me back at the dinner, I'm sorry you had to go through that kind of trouble though."
Tigress shrugged, "It was the least I could do after all you've done for me already. Besides, nobody deserves to be teased like that." She says the last line firmly, but Lotus gave a sincere grin, "Mei-Mei means well, I assure you, she was just messing around. I guess people just like seeing me nervous, heh.." He rubbed the back of his neck. Tigress smirked, "I know I do..."
Lotus pouted, "You weren't supposed to agree..." He muttered under his breath as they crossed the bridge. Tigress thought it was cute seeing his childish pout. It made him look more adorable. She stopped in her tracks, 'Okay, what is up with me?' She keeps asking herself as they continued to the hut. She thought she should fill her mind with something else, so she asked Lotus a question that has been on her mind, "Those kids... they're parents... what happened to them?"
Lotus sighed wearily, "A few years ago... there was a plague that spread amongst us pandas... it took only expecting mothers... after most of the kids were born, the mothers would pass shortly after the delivery.." Tigress inwardly gasped, "My dad and I actually knew Lei Lei's mom and were close friends with her... and coincidentally.. she took a favor in the color orange..." He looked back at the feline with a sad smile. Tigress felt and almost heard her heart shatter into a million pieces. And here she thought she had a rough life.
"And the fathers..?" She almost didn't want to ask, but as mentioned before... curiosity killed the cat. Lotus scoffed in disgust, "Fled. Disowned them. Thought they couldn't take care of the kids themselves. They were cowards..." He replied in a bitter tone she couldn't recognise. It seemed father figures seemed to mean a damn lot to him. Though she felt angry herself. How dare those selfish men just leave their newborns as if they were nothing to them.
"Thankfully the plague ended and we found a cure, before too many were gone. But there are about 12 boys and 15 girls just given away to the orphanage. The poor kids..." He shook his head as they reached the house, "I never wanted them to feel the pain me and my father did when we lost mom, so I took care of them and volunteered at the orphanage as much as I could. It was the least I could do after everything they've been through.."
'Okay, so he's practically a saint? What's next, he can draw like freaking Wen Zhengming?' She grumbled in her thoughts. Lotus took out his scroll and placed it on the dining table before giving Tigress' bag and giving it to the feline. He gave her a warm smile. 'And what's with that look?' Her thoughts were swimming all over the place tonight. Maybe sleeping will clear her head somehow. Wait... sleep... 'Where am I supposed to sleep!?'
As if the panda read her mind—goodness knows how long he was able to read it—he opened the door to an open window bedroom, "You can sleep in my room while you stay. I can just sleep on the couch." He offered kindly.
"I don't think it's necessary to intrude." She jumped in immediately, "You've done so much for me already, it wouldn't be fair if I took your own bed."
Lotus waved it off, "Come on! Don't worry, it's cool! And if you're just worried about sleeping in a strangers bed, don't worry, it's clean!" He winked and let her walk inside. Tigress bowed respectfully when she was inside, "I thank you for your hostility, but this is honestly too much."
Lotus rolled his eyes, "Um, HELLO! You're a respectable kung fu master! In my opinion it honestly isn't enough!" His grin widened, "Don't worry about me and my dad, you just focus on getting some shuteye. You're probably exhausted from your journey!"
Tigress towards the queen-sized bed. It did look comfy... maybe she should just take up on his kind offer and keep quiet. She bowed towards him again, "I greatly appreciate this, Lotus."
The panda blushed and looked off to the side, "N-no need to bow, really! It's what friends do!"
'Friend..?' She... did not expect that response. She stood back up and looked at him with a bewildered expression. After what felt like an eternity of just staring into those warm jade eyes of his, she finally broke into a small smile. "Well... goodnight then, Lotus..."
He smiled wide and walked out, closing the door behind him, "Goodnight... Master Tigress.." And with that, the door went shut.
The feline sat at the head of the huge bed. The moment she came in contact with the soft covers, she felt herself ease into them. She immediately plopped down on the mattress, dropping her bag in the process. Yep, much more comfy then her cots back home. She hadn't felt this relaxed in such a long time. She sniffed the air. Dumplings and Lotus petals. It smelled just like him.
She felt her eyes get heavy as slumber took over her, 'I think I can get used to this...' And that was all she thought of before she descended into unconsciousness.
