CHAPTER 16
Ana had been left alone for hours it seemed. During that time, she had found a wooden plunger handle about two feet long, several long electrical wires about three feet long, a flat head screwdriver, a jagged piece of tile and a thin metal bracket about four inches long. It was now dark in the room. She hid the wires coiled up in her bra, the bracket she put under the cot mattress for now and the piece of tile she stuck in the other side of her bra. She had the plunger handle in one hand and the screwdriver in her other hand. Ana laid on the bed with her hands behind her back holding both objects after she used the toilet but didn't flush, putting the lid down. She didn't want them to know she was moving around down there like going to the bathroom. She did get a drink from the water faucet. Ana waited… and waited…
It took a while waiting for someone to come down and check on her. One man was by himself came down the basement steps with a flashlight and kept creepily whispering to himself. He whispered, "My, my, my, aren't you the pretty, pretty, pretty one… I think, I'll have to fuck the shit out of you pretty, pretty, pretty girl." He unzipped his fly after laying the gun down and the flashlight on a table top.
He was pulling his cock out of his pants. She was watching him through the slits in her eyes as he was stroking himself. She was waiting for her moment and her grip was tightening around her two weapons in her hands. Ana thought, 'I have to get to that damn gun and this sick fuck was going to die in order to get it.'
He leaned down and reached out to unbutton her pants. That's when she struck. She rammed the screwdriver into his throat so fast he couldn't react in time. He grabbed his throat gurgling. She kicked up high and hit him in the ribcage. Ana sat up and struck him in the head with the wooden plunger handle. He went down.
She tied his hands and feet with his shoelaces, but crammed his mouth with toiletpaper. She searched his pockets and he had no phone on him. Ana used one of her wires around his head and mouth to hold the paper in his mouth. She felt for a pulse, it was there for now. She grabbed the gun and checked the magazine that held 17 rounds. It looked like he hadn't fired it at all. Ana clicked it back in the grip and put the small flashlight on a keychain ring around her left hand middle finger.
She crept up the stairs listening to every tiny sound. At the door she listened through it, she heard someone to her right rustling around at the top of the stairs and the TV was on further ahead at a distance. She stopped at the door and gingerly turned the handle completely before opening it silently. Ana noticed peeking through the crack in the door, there was a room to the left of the door, a room to the right and a long hallway of doors ahead of her to a big room with a large front door. That was where the TV noise was coming from. She remembered coming in straight through the house. She crept silently out of the door once she knew whoever was to the right couldn't see her. Ana entered the hall and quickly closed the basement door silently.
She quickly peeked in the left bedroom. It was empty with someone's stuff on the bed. She closed the door behind herself and started looking through their things and found a knife and thought, 'This will be useful.'
To her surprise, she found a silencer that fit her gun muzzle. Ana thought, 'This must have been that rapist asshole's room.' She froze when heard the person from the right side room walking further down the hall and saying while calling out, "I'm hungry you guys and making something to eat." She heard him walk a few more steps and start knocking around pans in the kitchen down the hall.
Ana checked the windows in the room and looked outside, it was dark, but the windows were painted shut. She thought, 'Son of a bitch! Typically, I'm gonna have to fight my way out of here if they are all painted shut. Let's move silent but deadly. Daddy said that pain is a luxury and being tired will get you killed. Be hyper aware of all people and their locations at all times.'
She had the knife in a sheath inside the back of her pants clipped there. She was listening through the door, hearing the two guys talking in the living room and one guy cooking in the kitchen. Ana remembered and thought, 'Ok let's see, there were five guys in the van before they had my head covered. One was shot upstairs arguing and then the rapist in the basement. That meant, one in the kitchen and two in the living room. I just hope there wasn't any in the house before I got here.'
She crept out of the room, shutting the door and she went into the room that was right of the basement door. She closed the door behind herself silently, looked around and found a burner phone fully charged plugged into the wall and a set of keys on the bed. Ana unplugged the phone and put the phone in her bra taking out the tile piece. She wished she had pockets about now. She tried to open the windows and one opened. Ana slit the screen and climbed out of the room's window feet first. It was a drag she had to leave her trench coat behind.
There wasn't much out there but snowy ground and a couple out buildings like a shed and a garage. She headed to the garage and went inside. She was trying to open the driver's door, but it was locked so she opened the driver's door with the key. Ana put the key in the ignition and knew she was going to have to be fast about it the next steps.
Before she turned the key, she looked up, she saw a man standing in front of her in the car with a gun aimed at her. It was Jack Hyde and he said hatefully, "Get the fuck out of the car, you slippery sneaky bitch!"
—--
Taylor and Christian had all of the eight duffle bags and four backpacks filled with a million dollars each. They were at his penthouse waiting for the next call on where to take the money. Christian hadn't slowed down in his thinking since the kidnapping
Christian shouted at Sawyer, "Tell me, why the hell didn't you stop them from even taking her!"
Sawyer said seriously, "He was in a blind alley waiting on us to come out of the deli. He instantly had the gun to her head. Then I saw two others behind him with guns on me and Miss Joy Robinson. I had my gun pointed at him but if I did anything he could have killed her. A van pulled into the alley and they shoved Miss Steele in the back where one guy was in the back to take her and one was driving. They all had ski masks on. I couldn't have done anything or she would have been killed at point blank range. I wish I could have seen them to know we were coming down the block but like I said, it was a blind corner. The post was next to the building masking the corner of the building before crossing the alley. It was so fast, there was no time. I didn't see anyone lurking or loitering. They must have had distance surveillance on everyone coming and going from GEH."
Taylor said to Christian, "I saw the layout of the alley. They had the advantage. If a client is at point blank with the gun to the head anything could put their life at risk. I hope she uses her skills to get away or get control of a gun for herself. She is trained."
Sawyer muttered, "I hope she kills them all."
—--
Ana was sitting in the car, pulled the keys from the ignition and fisted them in her left hand with the keys in-between her fingers in a fist. She had the gun in her right hand. Jack shouted again, "I'm only saying it one more time! Get! Out! Of! The! Fucking! Car!" She could see he meant business, but her gun had the silencer on it.
Ana opened the car door, she had her left leg out of the door then her right. She was going slowly to not make any sudden moves. She stood up behind the door and quickly dropped down behind the door.
Jack shouted, "What the fuck are you doing?" Ana took aim and shot him right between the eyes. The noise of his shouting had the other two guys running towards the garage from the house. She could hear the crunch of the snow under their feet as they ran. One guy ran into the garage and Ana shot him in the head instantly. His body dropped.
The next guy was peeking around the open garage door to see where she was with a gun in his hand. She got a good look at him and she couldn't fucking believe it. It was Marc Jacobs, the creep who asked for coffee while pinching her ass. She broke his finger and he was fired on her first day at GEH in the meeting she sat in on with Christian. She thought, 'That son of a bitch was in on this with Jack to kidnap me? Ok, one in the basement, one dead, Jack dead and leaves just you mother fucker.'
He said from outside of the garage, "You're not going anywhere. You have two dead bodies blocking your way out."
Ana said loudly stoically, as she put the keys in the ignition and started the car, "You think I won't drive right over those mother fuckers even if I have to drag them down the street to get the fuck out of here?! You cocksuckers sent a fucking rapist down to the basement to rape me! He might be dead by now with a flathead screwdriver rammed through his fucking throat!"
Jacobs cringed, because he was a true coward at heart. He thought, 'Jack tempted me into this goddamn scheme of his to get her and make Christian Grey pay millions for her return. I was just trying to get a little payback and the money. But, she is not just a typical weak woman like I was led to believe. She fucking killed the other three guys and Jack killed the first guy. Now I'm all alone and the only one left alive. What the fuck am I going to do now?'
Ana jumped in the car and revved the engine, slammed the door, jammed it into gear and punched the accelerator rolling over the bodies of the two men already dead. Jacobs panicked and started firing at the car haphazardly. The passenger door's glass crumbled and shattered. She shot her gun out the window and shot him in the abdomen. She never stopped and just kept driving.
Ana looked at the front of the house address 3130 and the next road sign was 139th Avenue NE. She had no idea where the hell she was. She drove making lefts and rights and pulled into a police precinct. Ana shoved the gun under the passenger seat of the car.
She got out of the car and ran inside the lobby and up to the desk panting. Ana panicked and cried out, "I'm Anastasia Steele and I just escaped my kidnappers! Help me please!"
The woman officer said, "Take a seat and wait until you're called." Ana looked at her like she was either deaf or the dumbest person she had ever seen.
Ana shouted angry, "What the fuck do you mean sit down until I'm called?! I was just held at goddamn gunpoint, almost raped and kidnapped, you stupid bitch! Look at my face! I need someone to go back with me, it's an emergency!"
A male officer walked up to Ana and said, "Come to the back with me." He took her to the back and put her in a room with a table and two chairs and locked the door. Ana freaked out and started pounding on the door shouting to let her out. She took out the phone in her bra and called Christian.
The phone rang and he said, "Yeah."
Ana said, "Christian?"
Christian said panicked, "Ana, where are you, baby?"
Ana said, "I escaped and now I'm at the Lake Stevens Police Department. Christian they locked in a room with a table and two chairs. I shouted that I was a kidnapped victim and just escaped and the police woman told me to sit down until I'm called. What the fuck is going on? I yelled at her and called her a stupid bitch then they locked me in here. I stole this phone from one of the kidnappers, along with a knife, keys, the car and a Glock 26 handgun with a silencer. Oh shit, the gun is in the car under the passenger seat but the car isn't locked." At that moment, two policemen opened the door and said, "Give us the phone! We got the gun in your car under the seat, lady!"
Ana cried out, "Help me, Christian!" The phone went dead.
Christian was shocked looking at the phone and shouted, "Get me the fuck to Lake Stevens Police Department! They have Ana and are ignoring that she was a kidnap victim! They locked her in a room by herself! Now they are going off on her about the gun on the front seat she took from the kidnappers and taking her phone away! She needs help!" He was grabbing everything as he told Taylor and the SPD police in the room. They all drove to where Ana was being held. Christian had called his father and told him to meet them there.
When Christian got to the Lake Stevens Police Department, they went in the precinct. The SPD police told Christian to let them find out what was going on first. Christian waited with Taylor and Sawyer for his father to arrive. When Carrick walked through the door, the SPD policemen were coming out of the back.
Carrack asked them, "What's going on?"
The SPD first officer said, "They said that she came into the precinct and was irrational. They say she verbally accosted the lady police officer on desk duty. She was told to sit down and wait her turn, but started swearing at the officer. They took her to an interview room and locked her in. They went out to her car and found a loaded Glock 26 with a silencer and a mag with 14 out of 17 bullets. She is being charged with disturbing the peace, resisting arrest and because a firearm was in a vehicle is considered a concealed weapon in Washington state, even if it's in plain sight. It would have to be in a lockbox."
The second officer said, "We explained that she just escaped from a kidnapping, the gun was from one of the kidnappers and more than likely how she got away. We even told them she was a licensed gun owner, but that was not one of her guns because she was taken without hers. They said that they would not be releasing her until she is arraigned tomorrow morning before the judge."
