Returning to Aether Paradise (Part One)
The next morning, the group walks out of the Pokemon Center.
"Well, fellows; we only have one more Grand Trial left before we take on the Alola League." said Edd.
"Sweet; so where's the last Grand Trial?" asked Eddy. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and turns on the map app.
"It would appear to be on Poni Island." said Edd.
"How will we get there?" asked Sarah.
"Hey!" the group hear someone calling out to them; they turned to see Acerola running over to them.
"Acerola, is something wrong?" asked Edd.
"It's Lillie, she was taken by Team Skull!" said Acerola.
"What?!" replied Edd.
"It happened earlier today." said Acerola.
(Flashback)
Inside the Aether House, Lillie was facing Plumeria and a member of Team Skull with Nebby by her side.
"You people." said Lillie.
"Not gonna disappear this time, huh?" asked Plumeria. "Seems like the tall tales we heard about you were wrong."
"That was different; Nebby and I were in trouble." said Lillie. "That was the only reason I used its power; so we could both escape with our lives. I know that I'm not capable of much myself, but I will not make it use that power again; I'm determined to not let that happen. This time, I will do whatever I can on my own, even if I do find myself in trouble again."
"Yo, girl, you know you're in trouble right now, right?" asked the Team Skull member with Plumeria.
"Leave her be." said Plumeria. "I like a girl not afraid to stand up for herself, and besides, I don't know about calling someone a Pokemon thief just because she wanted to help out a Pokemon that was suffering."
"Please, there is no need to hurt anyone else here." said Lillie. "I will go with you, willingly. Wherever you want."
(End Flashback)
"We have to rescue her!" says Edd.
"We don't even know where they took her." said Eddy.
"I think I heard someone say something about taking her to Aether Paradise." said Acerola.
"That place we've been to before?" asked Sarah.
"The one where we saw that jellyfish-looking Pokemon?" asked Eddy.
"We need to get over there." said Edd.
"How?" asked Ed.
"Let's use our Ride Sharpedos." said Edd as he takes out the Ride Pager and uses it to call for several Sharpedo; each kid climbs onto one.
"Let's get over to Aether Paradise." said Eddy. The group speeds off towards their destination. They soon reach the large facility where they find a way in; they soon enter an indoor boat harbor where they soon see a large black boat with Team Skull's insignia on it.
"Team Skull must be here." said Edd.
"Where did they take Lillie?" asked Sarah.
"Let's look around." said Eddy.
"Be careful; there could be guards around here." said Jimmy.
"No big deal, we can take them." said Eddy.
"We are the Eds!" shouts Ed, making Sarah cover his mouth.
"Ed, be quiet!" said Sarah before she covers her own mouth.
"What are you kids doing here?!" shouts someone from nearby. The group looks to see a man in a white uniform running over to them.
"I think it's safe to conclude that whoever's in charge here knows we're here." said Edd.
"Who wants to take this guy on?" asked Eddy.
"Let me do it." said Maxiley. "I could use more battle experience."
"Go for it." said Eddy. The Aether Paradise worker takes out a pokeball and throws it, releasing a Pokemon that looked like three brown spires grouped together with blonde hair.
"What is that?" asked Sarah. The Rotom Pokedex comes out of Edd's backpack and points itself at the Pokemon.
"Dugtrio, the Mole Pokemon, and the evolved form of Diglett. Its metallic whiskers are heavy, so it's not very fast, but it has the power to dig through bedrock." said the Rotom Pokedex.
Maxiley takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing his Vaporeon.
"Vaporeon, use Water Pulse!" said Maxiley. A blue ball of water forms in front of Vaporeon's mouth and he launches it at Dugtrio, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage to it.
"Dugtrio, use Dig!" said the Aether Paradise worker. Dugtrio tunnels itself into the floor.
"Vaporeon, use Acid Armor!" said Maxiley. Vaporeon's body becomes liquified, raising his defense; the Dugtrio suddenly pops up from the floor, hitting Vaporeon. "Now use Muddy Water!" Vaporeon summons up a large torrent of brown water that washes over the Dugtrio and knocks it out.
"Way to go, Maxiley!" said Eddy. The Aether Paradise worker growls before he returns his Dugtrio to its pokeball and puts it away; he pulls out another one and throws it, releasing a Toucannon.
"Vaporeon, use Aurora Beam!" said Maxiley. Vaporeon fires off a beam of multicolored light that hits the Toucannon, doing super effective damage, along with lowering its attack power.
"Toucannon, use Bullet Seed!" said the Aether Paradise worker. Toucannon fires off a lot of seeds from its beak that hit Vaporeon, doing super effective damage.
"Be careful, Maxiley." said Sarah.
"Don't worry; it'll take more than that to beat my buddy!" said Maxiley. "Vaporeon, use one more Aurora Beam!" Vaporeon fires off another beam of light that hits Toucannon and does enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"NOOO!" shouts the Aether Paradise worker. He then returns his Toucannon to its pokeball, tosses Maxiley pokedollars, and runs off somewhere.
"That'll show him." said Jimmy.
"Let's keep looking." said Edd. The group continued to run through Aether Paradise until a female worker runs to them, blocking their path.
"I'm afraid this is as far as you kids go." said the worker.
"Oh yeah?!" shouts Sarah. "Let me face this one."
"Go get her, baby sister." said Ed. Sarah and the worker each pull out a pokeball.
"Kecleon, go!" shouts the worker, throwing a pokeball, releasing a bipedal, light green, chameleon-like Pokemon. Edd points the Rotom Pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Kecleon, the Color Swap Pokemon. Its color changes for concealment and also when its mood or health changes. The darker the color, the healthier it is." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Ledian, go!" said Sarah, throwing Ledian's pokeball and releasing her. "Ledian, Mach Punch!" Ledian flies towards Kecleon while her fist glows light blue and she punches Kecleon across its face, dealing super effective damage; Kecleon suddenly turned red.
"Why did that Pokemon change color, guys?" asked Ed.
"My Kecleon has the Color Change ability." replied the worker. "When it's hit by a move, it's type becomes the same at the type of move used on it."
"Since Mach Punch was a fighting type move, Kecleon is now a fighting type?" asked Eddy.
"Exactly; now Kecleon, use Slash!" said the worker. Kecleon runs towards Ledian and slashes her with its claws, knocking her back.
"Oh yeah?!" yelled Sarah. A smile appeared on her face. "I guess since your Kecleon is a fighting type now, I can use this move on it; Ledian, Air Slash!" Ledian's wings glowed light blue and she flaps them, releasing light blue blades of energy at Kecleon, doing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Kecleon!" shouts the worker.
"Great job, Sarah." said Maxiley. The worker returns Kecleon to its pokeball, then pulls out another one.
"Go, Stoutland!" said the worker, throwing the pokeball and releasing a Stoutland.
"Ledian, Mach Punch!" said Sarah. Ledian flies at Stoutland and punches it across the face, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Stoutland, Retaliate!" said the worker. Stoutland charges at Ledian and rams her, knocking her back, but not doing much damage to her.
"Ledian, Comet Punch!" said Sarah. Ledian flies at Stoutland and repeatedly punches it, making it stumble back.
"Stoutland, Take Down!" said the worker. Stoutland charges at Ledian and rams her, knocking her to the ground; it takes recoil damage from its attack. As Ledian struggles to get up, she becomes surrounded by a light green aura.
"Ledian's Swarm ability has activated." said Edd.
"Use Bug Buzz!" said Sarah. Ledian lets out a loud buzz and releases red soundwaves from her mouth and they hit Stoutland, knocking it out.
"No!" yelled the worker.
"Sarah won!" said Ed.
"No surprise to me." said Maxiley. After returning Stoutland to its pokeball, the worker tosses pokedollars at Sarah, and runs away.
"Yeah, you better run, fathead!" said Sarah.
"Let's keep going." said Jimmy. They continue looking around the base before they run into another Aether Paradise worker.
"How many of these guys are here?!" asked Eddy.
"This is a large facility; so, it's to be expected that they would need a lot of people working here." said Edd.
"Whatever." said Eddy. The Aether Paradise worker takes a pokeball out of his pocket and tosses it, releasing an Arbok; Eddy takes out a pokeball and throws it, releasing his Vikavolt.
"Arbok, use Mud Bomb!" said the Aether Paradise worker. The Arbok releases a large ball of mud at Vikavolt, but it misses completely.
"Ha! My Vikavolt has the Levitate ability; ground type moves don't work on him!" said Eddy. "Vikavolt, use Zap Cannon!" Vikavolt creates a green ball of electricity between its mandibles and launches it at the Arbok, landing a direct hit, and knocking it out.
"Way to go, Eddy!" said Ed.
"Take this miscreant down, Eddy!" said Edd. The Aether Paradise worker frowns as he returns his Arbok to its pokeball, then tosses another, releasing a Lurantis.
"Use Slash!" said the Aether Paradise worker. The Lurantis leaps at Vikavolt and slashes him with its pincers.
"Vikavolt, use Air Slash!" said Eddy. Vikavolt flaps his wings, releasing a flurry of air blades that hit the Lurantis, dealing super effective damage; the attack also makes the Lurantis flinch. "Finish this with X-Scissor!" Vikavolt flies at the Lurantis and does a double slash with his mandibles, doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"How can I lose to a child?!" asked the Aether Paradise worker.
"He is the LIly of the Valley Confernce champion, you know." said Maxiley. The Aether Paradise worker frowns as he tosses Eddy pokedollars, returns his Lurantis to its pokeball, and runs off.
"Showed him who's boss." said Eddy with a smirk.
"Let's keep looking." said Edd. They all continue exploring the docks until they soon come across yet another Aether Paradise worker.
"Another one?!" exclaimed Eddy.
"Let's just beat him and keep going." said Sarah.
"I'll do it, Sarah!" said Ed as he runs over to the Aether Paradise worker who just took a pokeball out of his pocket and tosses it, releasing a Pokemon that looked like a giant orange bug with a red mushroom on its back.
"What is that?" asked Edd as their Rotom Phone flies out in front of him and points itself at the Pokemon.
"Parasect, the Mushroom Pokemon, and the evolved form of Paras. The bug is mostly dead, with the mushroom on its back having become the main body. If the mushroom comes off, the bug stops moving." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Take it down, big guy!" said Eddy.
"Okay, Eddy." said Ed, stepping forward while pulling out a pokeball. "Flareon, go!" Ed throws Flareon's pokeball and releases her. "Use Fire Fang!" Flareon runs at Parasect while her mouth was covered in fire and she bites Parasect, dealing super effective damage; Parasect suddenly becomes covered in fire.
"It appears Parasect's burned." said Edd.
"Parasect, use Slash!" said the worker. Parasect jumps at Flareon and slashes her with one of its claws, but not doing much damage due to burn weakening its attack strength. Parasect flinches in pain from its burn, and it passes out.
"It would appear burn has taken its toll on Parasect." said Edd.
"Way to go, big Ed." said Eddy.
"That's my big brother." said Sarah. The worker returns Parasect to its pokeball and pulls out another one.
"Drifblim, go!" said the worker, throwing a pokeball and releasing a purple, spherical Pokemon that floats in the air. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Drifblim, the Blimp Pokemon, and the evolved form of Drifloon. The raw material for the gas inside its body is souls. When its body starts to deflate, it's thought to carry away people and Pokémon." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Flareon, use Fire Fang!" said Ed. Flareon charges at Drifblim and bites it with fire covered fangs, dealing damage to it.
"Drifblim, Shadow Ball!" said the worker. Drifblim forms a ball of purple energy and launches it at Flareon, hitting her, and weakening her special defense.
"Flareon, Lava Plume!" said Ed. Flareon creates an explosion of smog and fire around her; it goes over Drifblim, dealing enough damage to knock it out. "Great job, Flareon."
"Bravo, Ed." said Edd.
"You're doing great." said Jimmy. The worker returns Drifblim to its pokeball; he puts it away and pulls out another one.
"Sudowoodo, go!" said the worker, throwing the pokeball, and releasing a Sudowoodo. Ed returns Flareon to her pokeball.
"Good thinking, Ed; Sudowoodo has the advantage over Flareon, so it was wise to recall Flareon." said Edd.
'My big brother doing something wise?' Sarah thinks to herself. 'This Pokemon stuff has made him smarter.' Ed pulls out a Dive Ball.
"Dewgong, go!" said Ed, throwing Dewgong's Dive Ball and releasing her. "Use Aqua Jet!" Dewgong becomes surrounded by water and she flies at Sudowoodo; she rams into it and deals super effective damage to it.
"Sudowoodo, use Slam!" said the worker. Sudowoodo swings its arm and hits Dewgong, knocking her back.
"Dewgong, use Brine!" said Ed. Dewgong releases a powerful stream of water from her mouth, and it hits Sudowoodo, knocking it out.
"NO!" shouts the worker.
"That was awesome, Ed!" said Maxiley.
"Way to go, Ed!" said Eddy. The worker returns Sudowoodo to its pokeball; he tosses pokedollars at Ed and runs off. After Ed returns Dewgong to her Dive Ball and the group continues on; moments later, Jimmy was facing another worker.
"Primeape, go!" shouts the worker, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Pokemon with a round, furry body with hands that resembled boxing gloves. Edd points the Rotom Pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Primeape, the Pig Monkey Pokemon, and the evolved form of Mankey. The blood vessels in its brain are sturdier than those of other Pokémon, so it can stay healthy despite its constant raging." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Butterfree, go!" said Jimmy, throwing Butterfree's pokeball and releasing him. "Butterfree, Air Slash!" Butterfree's wings glowed light blue and he beging flapping them, releasing light blue blades of energy that hits Primeape, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Primeape, use Thrash!" said the worker. Primeape runs at Butterfree and punches and kicks him, repeatedly, knocking him back.
"Butterfree, use Psybeam!" said Jimmy. Butterfree fires a multicolored beam of energy from his eyes, and they hit Primeape, dealing super effective damage to it, along with knocking it out.
"Jimmy won!" cheered Ed.
"Nice one, Jimmy!" said Maxiley. The Aether Paradise worker frowns before returning his Primeape to its pokeball, then tossing Jimmy pokedollars and running off.
"I really hope that's the last of them." said Eddy.
"If not, it's still good experience for the Alola League." said Edd. "Plus, I figured you wouldn't mind winning more pokedollars."
"Good point." said Eddy. Just then, another Aether Paradise worker runs towards them.
"I shall handle this one." said Edd. The Aether Paradise worker throws a pokeball, releasing a large, orange and cream-colored, doglike Pokemon with black stripes.
"What's that?" asked Jimmy. The Rotom Pokedex comes out and points itself at the Pokemon.
"Arcanine, the Legenadary Pokemon, and the evolved form of Growlithe. There are so many old tales about them that they're called legendary Pokémon, but there are way more of them around than you'd expect." said the Rotom Pokedex.
Edd takes out a pokeball and throws it, releasing his Primarina. He then holds out his Z-Ring and activates his Primarium-Z crystal.
"I have no time to waste with this man; Lillie could be in danger." said Edd before he does the required poses to activate his Z-Crystal, making Z-Energy flow out from him and into Primarina, making the Z-Power Symbol appear in front of her.
"Edd's not pulling any punches." said Maxiley.
"Arcanine, hurry and use Extreme Speed!" said the Aether Paradise worker, making his Pokemon move quickly at Primarina and rams her.
"Primarina, please use Oceanic Operetta!" said Edd. Primarina starts singing a beautiful melody while making a massive ball of water.
"She sings so beautifully." said Jimmy with awe. Primarina then has the water ball move at Arcanine and consumes it, then explodes, releasing shockwaves and making it rain inside, along with knocking Arcanine out.
"That was amazing." said Sarah.
"This isn't over!" said the Aether Paradise worker before returning his Arcanine to its pokeball and tosses Edd pokedollars, then gets into a triangle-shaped lift and heads up to the next floor up.
"Lillie's not on this floor." said Sarah. Edd walks over to the lift's control panel and pushes a button, making the lift come back down to their level.
"Let's go, everyone." said Edd. He and the rest of the group get on, then Edd pushes a button inside it and everyone starts heading up.
What challenges await the group as their search-and-rescue mission continues? Wait and find out.
Meanwhile, on a beach on Akala Island, Eddy's brother washes up on shore; seconds later, a Ride Mantine arrives near the shore.
"Stupid Mantine surfing." muttered Eddy's brother. A woman with short, black hair, wearing a black, one-piece swimsuit runs over to him.
"Are you okay?" asked the woman. Eddy's brother looks up at the woman and grins. Seconds later, Eddy's brother was face down on the sand with a large lump on his head.
"Jerk." muttered the woman, walking away while rubbing her fist.
