Welcome to Oreburgh City
As Lincoln, Sam, and Dawn start walking down Oreburgh Gate, they were immediately approached by a man with dark brown hair, a beard, and wearing a hiking outfit.
"Hello, everyone." said the man.
"Umm, hi." said Lincoln.
"Can we help you with something?" asked Sam.
"I notice that you three have Poketches on your wrists." said the man, making the group look at them.
"Yeah, so?" replied Sam. The man reaches into his backpack and pulls out three small, disklike objects.
"Do you know what TMs are?" asked the man.
"You mean Technical Machines?" replied Lincoln. "They're used to make Pokemon instantly learn new moves."
"That is correct." said the man. "These are for a fighting type move known as Rock Smash."
"That's cool and all; but what do they have to do with our Poketches?" asked Sam.
"These can be used in combination with them to have Pokemon come and destroy rocks that would be blocking a path you would want to go down." said the man.
"That sounds like it could be useful." said Lincoln.
"And also, are you kids going to Oreburgh to challenge the gym?" asked the man.
"I am." said Lincoln.
"Then you'll definitely want a fighting type move for when you do." said the man. "You see, the gym leader there specializes in rock type Pokemon."
"Oh, and I know that they're weak against fighting type moves." said Lincoln. The man holds out the TMs and Lincoln, Sam, and Dawn each take one.
"Thanks, sir." said Dawn. The man then exits the tunnel, leaving the group to themselves.
"How do you use these?" asked Sam as she looks at her TM.
"You insert them into your pokedexes, then point them towards the button of the pokeball that has a Pokemon you want to teach the move to." explained Dawn.
"Oh, thank you." said Lincoln. He does as he was told and uses the TM to teach Rock Smash to his Bidoof while Sam teaches it to her Kricketune.
"Shall we keep going?" asked Dawn. Lincoln and Sam nod and the three continue going down the tunnel. As they do, they hear the sound of flapping wings from overhead; they look up to see several blue, batlike Pokemon flying at them.
"Watch out!" said Lincoln as he and the others dive to the ground.
"What are those?" asked Sam as she points her pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Zubat, the Bat Pokemon. Disliking sunlight, it sleeps deep in forests and caves until sundown." said Sam's pokedex.
"Kind of reminds me of Lucy's bat, Fangs." said Lincoln as he stands up and takes out a pokeball, prompting Sam to do the same thing; Lincoln throws his pokeball, releasing his Bidoof; Sam throws hers, releasing her Shinx that growls at the incoming Zubats, lowering some of their attack strengths, but not all of them.
"Shinx, use Thunder Shock!" said Sam. Shinx releases a jolt of electricity from her body, zapping one of the Zubats, doing super effective damage.
"Bidoof, use Rollout!" said Lincoln. Bidoof tucks herself into a ball and rolls right into a Zubat, doing super effective damage. The two battle the Zubats for about a minute before they decide to fly away.
"That was great!" said Dawn as she gets up off the ground. Sam looks at a Zubat that was struggling to fly away, but was unable to. Not wanting to just leave it like that, she takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Zubat, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"What are you going to do with that Zubat?" asked Lincoln.
"I'll get it treated at a Pokemon Center, then I'll figure out what to do." said Sam. She looks at Zubat's information on her pokedex. "This says the Zubat's a dudette, she knows Absorb, Supersonic, and Astonish; and she has the Inner Focus ability which prevents her from flinching, and having her attack power lowered by Intimidate."
"That would explain why some of those other ones didn't seem affected by Shinx's Intimidate." said Lincoln.
"Well, let's keep going." said Sam. She, Lincoln, and Dawn continue walking until they reached the end of the tunnel and exit it; upon doing so, they see a city that had several factories in it, along with several buildings, including a Pokemon Center.
"So, this is Oreburgh City, huh?" asked Lincoln.
"Yes it is, Lincoln." said Dawn. "It's mainly known for mining coal that is used for energy here in Sinnoh. There's also a museum here also." The three then head over to the Pokemon Center to get their Pokemon treated.
While they waited, they decide to grab something to eat as they did.
"So, when are you going to challenge the gym leader, Lincoln?" asked Dawn.
"I want to maybe train up my Pokemon a bit more before I do." said Lincoln. "I hear that gym leaders are a lot stronger than normal trainers are."
"Hey, kid." said someone wearing a mining outfit nearby, getting the group's attention. "You lookin' to challenge Roark?"
"Roark?" replied Lincoln.
"He's the Oreburgh gym leader." said the miner. "He isn't at the gym right now."
"How come?" asked Lincoln.
"In addition to being the gym leader, he's also in charge of Oreburgh Mine." said the miner. "He's currently looking into a problem with the machinery there."
"I guess that's understandable." said Lincoln.
"So, what now?" asked Sam.
"If you want to prepare your Pokemon for a gym battle with him, then you should train in the mine." said the miner.
"Is that okay?" asked Lincoln.
"Sure, Roark lets trainers do it all the time." said the miner. "There are rock type Pokemon that live there that you can get experience fighting to prepare for your gym battle."
"Is it safe to battle in there?" asked Dawn.
"Oreburgh Mine has a pretty decent safety record, and Roark always makes sure that the mine's support beams are strong, and in perfect condition.
"Sounds like a plan to me." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, sir." said Sam. The miner nods and soon exits the Pokemon Center.
"So, after we eat and get our Pokemon back, we go to the mine to do some training." said Lincoln.
"Okay, bro." said Sam. The group finishes their meal just as the nurse tells them that their Pokemon are fully healed. Once they get their Pokemon back, they ask for directions to Oreburgh Mine and head over there. They soon arrive at a facility with bulldozers, steam shovels, and dump trucks that are loading up coal; they also see a large opening in the side of a mountain that had conveyor belts coming out of it with coal on it, and also workers moving mining carts on a track coming out as well.
"This must be the mine entrance." said Lincoln.
"Let's just be careful and make sure not to get in the way of the workers." said Sam.
"Okay, sis." said Lincoln.
The three then begin to enter the tunnel into Oreburgh Mine, unaware that a small drone with a camera mounted to the bottom of it, was watching them do so.
Meanwhile, back at the Loud house in Lisa's bunker, she was working on the final steps of the assembly of a new Dimensional Watch, when a beeping was heard from a nearby console.
"I wonder what that could be?" Lisa asked herself. She goes over to the console and looks at a screen that had multiple images on it that had one with a flashing light next to it. "Another one of my drones better not have been destroyed again. (a/n: beginning of Rocboi135's Lincoln's legendary Pokemon adventure: Chapter 33.)" When she looks at it, instead of seeing static, indicating a malfunctioning or destroyed drone; she sees Lincoln, Sam, and Dawn entering the Oreburgh Mine."Success! I found him; and Sam is there also. I must tell everyone!"
