Meanwhile, Daniel, Kelvin and Windy led the Salacians, UNIT and Yabusaki Army to the centre of the Unified Resistance Army base.

"Windy? What the hell are you doing, bringing in Lord Fabio?" exclaimed Daniel.

"Speak for yourself, why are there sea monsters in our base?" retorted Windy.

"Oh, great, so it's your fault UNIT's on our asses," sneered Kelvin.

"Shut up, Kelvin!" replied Daniel and Windy.

"That's enough, you three," said Kate. After Kate and Fabio introduced themselves to Polvina and the others, Kate asked, "Where has Commander Zhou gone?"

Ester answered, "He's in Salacia right now fighting the Shark King! We were trying to convince the Shark King to stop before Parker and his army came in and turned the entire battle into chaos!"

"Say no more," replied Kate. "I've ordered all ships surrounding Salacia to be on standby. If something happens down there, we'll be on it."

"Should we head down there as well?" asked Fox Fonseca.

"No, you guys should stay here," said Tubarina. "Whatever Father's planning next will be here on Dryland. You guys need to be ready for whatever happens."

"So, does that mean we're working together now?" asked Dinho.

"I suppose we are," said Kate.

"Then I propose that we name our new group," said Polvina. "How about we call ourselves the Octavia Army?"

"Octavia?" wondered Ester. "Why that name?"

Polvina explained how she came up with that name. Octa is ancient Greek for "eight" and via is Latin for "road" or "route". If you put them together, the word can also mean "eighth road" or "eighth route", as in the Eighth Route Army, one of the predecessors to China's military that was at the forefront of their war against Japan in World War II (alongside the New Fourth Army).

Kate beamed as she realised what Polvina was referring to. "You must have read a lot of history books about our world."

"What doesn't she read?" added Tubarina. "Although, why did you have to make it about yourself, Polvina?"

Polvina retorted, "Hey, I can't help it if the word octa is the same as in the word 'octopus'. Isn't that right, Daniel?"

"Zubby-garmaldi-deno-meria."

Polvina suddenly became distraught as she realised what was happening. "No! No!" She took him by the shoulders and cried, "Daniel, please, speak to me! I thought we understood each other!"

Ester went to pull Polvina away. "Calm down, Polvina! It's not just you, I can't understand him either!"

"Same here!" added Tubarina as she helped Ester hold Polvina back as well. "What in Salacia is going on?"

It was then that Leia heard the call of a whale in the middle of Dryland. "There's a whale stuck in the middle of Dryland! They can't swim away because the air suddenly became dry!"

Veto added, "It's not just the whales! I can hear sharks in trouble too! All the other fish have suddenly found themselves stranded on Dryland, unable to swim!"

Tubarina gasped as she realised what was happening. "Father's turned down the breathing tech! He's going to sacrifice all the fish on Dryland to drown Parker and his army!"

"That also explains why we can't understand the Drylanders anymore!" concluded Ester. "The breathing tech is also connected to the translation tech!"

At the same time, the Drylanders were having trouble understanding the Salacians.

"Ei, por que não podemos mais entender os salinos?" disse Kelvin. ("Hey, why can't we understand the salines anymore?" said Kelvin.)

"Acho que estão dizendo que a tecnologia de tradução falhou e que os peixes não conseguem respirar fora da água," respondeu Daniel. ("I think they're saying that the translation technology has broken and the fish can't breathe out of water," replied Daniel.)

"Mas isso significa que Parker e os outros não poderão respirar na água! Precisamos fazer alguma coisa!" Vento ofegou. ("But that means Parker and the others won't be able to breathe in the water! We've got to do something!" Windy gasped.)

"Acalme-se. Tenho certeza que a UNIT pode nos ajudar," Fábio assegurou. Ele se virou para Kate e perguntou, "Vocês podem tirar nossos camaradas do oceano?" ("Calm yourselves. I'm sure UNIT can help us," Fabio reassured. He turned to Kate and asked, "Can you get our comrades out of the ocean?)

Polvina turned to Kate as well, doing her best to ask for her help even if she couldn't understand the language of the salines. "We can't let the Drylanders drown in the ocean and we can't let the fish choke in the air! Can you help us, Kate?"

Kate used an app on her phone to say to Polvina and Fabio, in both their languages, "Don't worry. Let me take care of it." She then got on the phone to give out her orders. "This is the Commander-in-Chief to all ships. Code Red Salacian, I repeat, Code Red Salacian. Engage Red Cliff Protocol, Stratagem Alpha, Priority Black."

Back in Salacia, Parker and his forces struggled to retreat amidst the intensifying chaos. The only thing he was focused on was surviving while sharks and other fish tried to attack him and his men. Parker saw a group of his soldiers still trying to fight Isa and Nico.

"你哋一個二個仲喺度做咩呀? 快啲游返上去, 唔係就俾班鹽水佬得逞呀!" ("What the hell are you all doing! Hurry back up and retreat, or the sea monsters will get their way!")

It might seem like Parker is speaking in two distinct dialects or languages, but even despite the communication barriers, everyone got the idea about what was happening. As Parker continued to swim up, he encountered Angelina.

"We won't be able to make it! We're too deep in the ocean and our men are struggling to swim up!"

"別諑啦! 逃了鬼子的境界再說!" (Stop complaining! Save it for when we get out of the sea monsters' realm!)

Liam and Mauricio were struggling to escape as they were being pursued by the Shark King's soldiers. They were quickly running out of air as they kept trying to fight off their enemies.

"¡Cada vez es más difícil respirar aquí abajo! ¿Alguna vez podremos quitarnos de encima a estos monstruos marinos?" cuestionó Liam. ("It's getting harder to breathe down here! Are we ever gonna get these sea monsters off our tail?" questioned Liam.)

"Ellos nadan mejor que nosotros. Nunca nos alejaremos de ellos," se quejó Mauricio. ("They can swim better than us. We'll never get away from them," complained Mauricio.)

Suddenly, two girls charged through the Shark King's soldiers before grabbing Liam and Mauricio and swimming up to Dryland with them. It was their love interests, Marli and Socita.

"Marli… mi princesa… mi diosa…" murmuró Liam mientras empezaba a quedarse sin aire. ("Marli… my princess… my goddess…" muttered Liam as he began to run out of air.)

"I don't know what you're talking about, but save it until we get to Dryland!" said Marli.

"Sabía que vendrías por mí, Soraya. Gracias…" dijo Mauricio antes de desmayarse. ("I knew you'd come for me, Soraia. Thank you…" said Mauricio before he passed out.)

"Stay with us! We're getting you to Dryland as fast as we can!" exclaimed Socita.

Elsewhere, Nikki and Marcia were confused as their comrades were frantically swimming away.

"なぜみんなが撤退するの?" ("Why is everyone retreating?")

"わからない, けどみんなが急いでいるみたい." ("I don't know, but everyone looks like they're in a hurry.")

"Maybe we should go after them."

"Yeah, maybe we should…" Marcia suddenly gasped as she realised what she was saying and hearing. "Nikki, how did you learn to speak like that?"

Nikki was also surprised to realise what she said as well. "My Nanna taught me how to speak Salacian since I was little. Mom knows how to speak Salacian as well. More to the point, how can you understand Salacian?"

"I don't know! Maybe I picked up a few words from hearing Salacians talking all the time. We've gotta go, Nikki, or Parker'll be wondering where we went off to!"

Nikki and Marcia began swimming up, but they were soon mobbed by schools of fish, specifically barracuda and hammerhead sharks.

"Ahh! What are they doing? Are they going to eat us?" frantically asked Marcia.

"I don't know. Hammerhead sharks are normally docile and barracuda are normally aggressive, but they're all happy for some reason. A similar thing happened to me years ago," Nikki replied.

As Nikki and Marcia continued to swim up, the barracuda and hammerhead sharks continued to follow them. But suddenly, their hair began to glow and give off colourful lights.

"Marcia! Your hair's glowing!"

"You too, Nikki! What the hell is going on?"

It was then that Marcello, Lorah and a group of other Salacians quickly swam over. "Stop them! Don't let them get away!" ordered Marcello. The Salacians surrounded Nikki and Marcia, but despite this, the barracuda and hammerheads didn't turn on them. In fact, they reported one thing to their respective royals; their lost princesses had returned.

"Tubarina was right," commented Marcello. "The proof would be obvious once we saw it. We finally found Marcela!"

Molly and Macnus were ecstatic to see their daughter again. "Marcela… after all these years, we finally found you!" said Molly.

"It's good to see you're alright after all this time on Dryland," added Macnus.

At the same time, Lorah looked at Nikki and mused, "I was right. My great-grandparents did escape to Dryland and continue the royal bloodline."

Marcia replied, "What are you talking about? My name's not Marcela."

Nikki also said, "I've seen the barracuda acting nice to me before, but how can it be?"

Lorah answered, "If you want to know the truth, then come with us. You won't have to worry about drowning because, as you've realised by now, you're like us."

Marcello, Lorah and the others led Nikki and Marcia away to the Hammerhead Shark Palace.

While all this was happening, the ships got into position above Salacia. As UNIT's equipment was turned on from the headquarters in Yokohama, Parker and his men found themselves able to breathe in the water again, allowing them to surface with ease. At the same time, the fish were able to breathe on Dryland again and humans and salines alike were able to understand each other.

The men on the ships let down rope ladders as they helped Parker and his men board them. Everyone was relieved to be out of the water.

"Help! We have two men down over here!" shouted Socita. The men helped pull Liam and Mauricio onboard before Marli and Socita got on too. Because they became unconscious in the water, Liam and Mauricio had to be resuscitated on the ship.

Socita stayed with Mauricio as the soldiers resuscitated him, but Marli got impatient and insisted that she resuscitate Liam herself. Mauricio regained consciousness and hugged Socita to thank her for saving him. Liam regained consciousness not long after and the first thing he did was give Marli a deep, sloppy kiss. Normal women would consider this sexual harassment and fight back, but luckily for Liam, Marli passionately received him with open arms, possibly more open than they ever had been in her life.

Meanwhile, Parker and Angelina managed to make it onto a ship. "Oh, thank goodness we're still alive!" sighed a relieved Angelina.

"Yeah, thank goodness. That was too intense even for me." Parker had been in some intense situations before, so for him to say something like that meant that this was really bad. "Let's head back to base and think of another strategy. All ships, return to shore!"

"Not so fast," said a voice familiar to Parker. "We will be returning to shore, but you're not in charge anymore." Parker looked and suddenly found two people who he previously knew in the past; Bill Portland, a general who served in the Kantō Army alongside him a decade ago before being transferred to the Chōsōkabe Army; and Melody Toriwara, aunt to Princess Runai and sister to Gina, who was Runai's mother. "Hello, Commander Zhou. It's been a long time."

"Same here, but not as long," said Melody. "Remember me, Parker? You had my sister killed."

"It's finally caught up to me, hasn't it?" said Parker. "Look, I don't care what happens after, but we need to stop the Shark King now."

"And we will," said Bill, "but first, there is someone you need to see. All ships, return to shore!"
