All Might's POV

As All Might sat at the table with HSPC Chief of Staff, he thought of the horrible, bloody raid that had just taken place last night. This was the third building they had raided last night. He had been at the second location, where, thanks to his presence, there were few casualties, with only two officers lightly injured. The other two teams had not been so lucky. The first building in Fukushima City had been a bust, with minor thugs and criminals, no villains, but enough firepower and men to give both the heroes and cops a lot of trouble for nothing. It was a distraction meant to take attention, and it did its job well.

The third building had been a slaughterhouse. No other way to put it. Three heroes in critical condition, one dead, and then the police. My God, the police. Thirty-seven officers killed in action, another sixty-two heavily injured, with nineteen of them in critical condition, fighting for their lives. They should have realized that the all-clear signals they got from the building were false. It wasn't until after the first two raids were over for almost five minutes, and no one from the third called over, other than the agreed signal to show everything was clear and safe.

We thought they had the easy job, but no, they walked into a death trap. From what reports they could get from the survivors who were conscious, he learned that the first twenty floors had been a breeze. They walked through the building floor by floor, taking prisoners as they went. One person sounded an alarm, and everything changed. Within seconds, their comms were jammed, but still, everything went fine for the next two floors. There were some minor shootouts, and a few assholes with machetes and knives were put down relatively easily. It was on the 23rd floor where they found that hell is real, and it is hungry for souls.

The prisoners, who had been captured by the police, had escaped. They killed their watchers; some were taken out by sniper fire from other buildings, and some were killed when one pretended to have a seizure or some other medical emergency while the other broke free and took them out. Then, they began making their way up the building as others higher up made their way down. After fighting up another floor, the police had made the choice to retreat and try to restore comms and get backup. The 4 heroes they had with them did their best, but they were not ready for this level of conflict. This was war, and no one was ever ready for it.

All For One, why would he go to such lengths to protect a building with nothing in it to hide? There was no laboratory or anything like that. No files or information they could use. Hell, the only strange thing about the entire building had been a child's room on the 22nd floor for a young girl, if he was not mistaken in the details. They were planning another raid on the building, with him in the lead this time, and he would bring every single person there to justice. He was just waiting for everyone else to show up, then they would begin the briefing.

AN: Just a short one, a buildup for the next chapter which will be back to Tanya. And don't worry; this isn't where Tanya was staying. All the criminals who lived there were told she was there to make them fight harder. Think of it like this: when Frieza told his men in DBZ, "Die to him or die to me!" and they chose the other guy, Trunks, knowing it would be faster and far less painful than what Frieza would do. Imagine what AFO would do if his precious daughter was hurt. There seems to have been a misunderstanding. AFO wants his daughter involved in crime with him, but she thinks he is a businessman. Would you tell your four-year-old, "Don't worry, sweetie, I kill people, but only certain ones"? Man is still trying to figure out how to be a father, a criminal mastermind, and a teacher all at once. Yes, AFO spends more time with Shigaraki, who is around 8 or 9 years old now, than with Tanya. Crying face. I know, don't worry; we will see Daddy AFO soon.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful reviews.

I would name you all, but the word count is already inflated enough as it is.
