"Ugh..." Peter groaned, slowly coming to his senses. He assumed it was morning, but the sky was still dark. Glancing toward the trees, he noticed an orange hue beginning to touch the horizon. Guess it's almost morning, Peter thought.

He looked around the camp; everyone else was still bundled up in their sleeping bags. His stomach rumbled. Forget the Collider for a second... what am I going to eat? Back in his dimension, he usually didn't eat much. The stress of keeping his city safe often kept him too busy to balance his superhero duties with basic needs, like meals.

But here, away from civilization, hunger gnawed at him harder than ever. 'These guys have been out here for a while—they must eat, right?' He glanced at Darius, still asleep. 'Or... is this some weird dimension where humans don't need food?' Peter shivered at the thought. 'Nah. I need my pizza,' he muttered. Though, out here, pizza was probably a pipe dream. His stomach growled again, and he suddenly noticed an empty sleeping bag. That's weird...

Counting heads, he went through his companions. 'Darius, Kenji, Brooklyn, Yaz... that other girl...' Then it hit him. 'Ben! Where... is he?'

He scanned the camp, but Ben was nowhere in sight. 'I have to go find him!'

Peter quickly got up, zapped his webs at a tree, and swung out of the camp.

Landing on a branch, he perched and surveyed the ground below. No sign of Ben. "He couldn't have gone far," Peter mumbled, noticing another branch nearby. He swung to it, perched, and continued his search.

Just as he landed, he heard rustling below. He crouched down, peering through the leaves, but saw nothing.

'What was that? Another dinosaur?'

Peter took a quiet breath, then hopped down softly to avoid drawing attention. The rustling was intense, as if something big was plowing through the bushes. Peter readied his webs.

As the figure emerged, Peter instinctively shot his web, pulling it toward him and winding up to deliver a knockout punch.

But it was a great thing that Peter didn't do that. The "dinosaur" he'd snared was... Ben. "WOAH BEN!" Peter yelled. With the strength Peter yanked Ben with, it caused him to slam right into Peter, and both he and Peter fell onto the floor.

"Uh..." Peter muttered, staring at Ben. As Ben's senses returned, he glared up at Peter.

"What the heck was that for, Peter?! Get off me!" he snapped. Peter's face turned red, embarrassment burning in his cheeks. He'd been so sure it was a dinosaur. He scrambled off Ben, reaching to help him up, but Ben batted his hand away. "Ugh, don't touch me! I can get up myself!" Ben huffed. "Seriously, Peter, what was that?!"

"I... I thought you were a dinosaur," Peter mumbled sheepishly.

Ben raised an incredulous eyebrow. "You accidentally thought I was a dinosaur...?"

Peter nodded awkwardly.

"DO I LOOK LIKE A DINOSAUR TO YOU?!" Ben barked.

"N-no! You don't! I just... heard rustling in the bushes!" Peter explained.

"I was trying to get Berries!" Ben shouted

. "..Berries?" Peter asked. Ben sighed and nodded.

"...Berries?" Peter repeated, surprised.

Ben sighed and nodded. "Yes, berries. What, you need me to spell it out?" He asked arching an eyebrow.

"I... um..."

"Ugh, never mind. I collect berries every morning before the others wake up. It's something I do every day." Ben said.

"Oh... um... you need my help?"

Ben side-eyed him. "...No, thanks. I don't need help from someone who can't tell a person from a dinosaur," he muttered.

"Ben, I'm sorry, I just heard loud rustling, it seriously didn't sound like it came from you," Peter told him.

Ben had already started to walk away, but he paused, glancing back. "Wait... Oh, you must have heard Bumpy."

"Bumpy?" Peter asked, confused.

"A herbivore dino I've befriended. He usually tags along when I collect berries, but I've been trying to keep him back lately since he ends up eating half of what I pick," Ben explained. "So, yeah, the rustling was probably him."

"You've befriended a dinosaur? That's amazing!" Peter exclaimed.

Ben shrugged, "Yeah, and since she was the one you actually heard, I'm glad you grabbed me, because if you attacked her, I would have punched you so hard you'd end up back in the dimension say you come from," He said, looking at Peter sternly. "Anyway... forget about it," Ben added, turning to leave. So, Peter followed him.

But then Peter's stomach went off again. This time it was so loud, that Ben heard it. Ben looked at Peter while they walked. "Damn, that was very loud." He said. "Here, take this instead of the berries—it's more filling."

Ben grabbed what seemed to be some bugs off of a branch. "Here, nothing like some Isla Nublar grubs!" Ben said with a small smile.

Peter blinked at him. "Uh... Ben, thanks, but... I may be part spider, but I don't eat bugs," he said, scrunching his face.

Ben groaned annoyed. "Suit yourself," He said as he ate one.

Peter gasped at it. "Oh... you... eat them?" He asked.

"Yeah, that's what survival is. The others don't care for bugs, they'd rather eat just the berries." Ben said.

"And... what did you mean by a part spider? I... heard... and even seen... how you have powers, and I've realized they've been... Spiderish?" Ben asked.

Peter nodded. "I'm practically a human-spider."

"How did this happen?" Ben asked. Peter wasn't sure how to get into the whole story on how he has even gotten his quirks. He surely didn't want to explain it all to Ben right now, who'd probably just look at him insane.

So, he just dropped it. "I... won't get into it right now."

"Alright..." Ben said, as he also dropped it, and continued to walk.

Peter wasn't sure what Ben thought of him just yet. One thing was clear, though: he still had a long way to go to earn Ben's trust.
