T28: Next Morning.

November 26th

The next morning, the family and Dustin, minus Cameron, Rocco, Leo and Mickey, were all sitting at the dinner table in the dining-room in their pajamas, eating another catered Coho Cafe Bakery And Deli breakfast that Monica ordered, with glasses of orange juice, her sitting at the head of the table. The breakfast was that of waffles, fried eggs, bacon, fried ham, scattered hashbrowns and powdered funnel-cakes.

"You know, you took some great shots yesterday. But i think this one's my favorite. You like it?" Said Lulu to Dustin-who sat next to her, while looking at a photo of her and Rocco outside the Tofte General Store on her cellphone.

"Ah, it's alright." Dustin said.

"It looks great. I think we should blow it up and put it in a frame." Lulu said.

"Yeah. You should blow it up...and bring some modern life into this old place." Dustin joked.

"You are so 21st century. Just like today's people. Pictures of my entire family have been ip all over this house ever since my husband, Alan, and i moved here in 1976." Monica said.

"Interesting. Where is your husband now?" Dustin asked.

"He passed away in 2019. Heart-attack." Bill answered, revealing the fate of his father, sitting across the table from Alice.

"I'm so sorry." Dustin said.

"It's okay. He's in a better place." Monica said.

"Uh, you know what, i like this one. It was such a great outing yesterday...wasn't it?" Lulu said, trying to change the subject.

"Yeah. As far as i remember, it's pretty nice when it was just the two of us too." Dustin answered.

"Ooh, it was." Lulu said.

Brooklyn then entered into the dining-room, wearing a red robe.

"Hey, good morning, Brooklyn." Alice greeted.

"Hi." Brooklyn said.

"Hi. Where are Cameron, Rocco and Leo this morning?" Olivia said.

"Upstairs still sleeping, i guess." Brooklyn said. "Ooh, is that funnel-cake?" She said before she rushed over to the table and tore off a big piece of powdered funnel-cake and began chowing down on it.

"Wow, this girl can eat." Tracy said.

"I know. You think she was one of those starving people you see on television." Sky added.

"Would you stop it, Sky?" Monica said. "But Brooklyn, really, she's right. You shouldn't eat that fast, it's not good for you."

"It's okay. I'm gonna go get dressed. I have to head back over to the shelter." Brooklyn said before picking up a glass of orange juice.

"I thought the shelter got the food you delivered." Olivia said.

"They did, but i'm gonna go back and make sure they stored it all away for Thanksgiving and not eaten any of it." Brooklyn said before finishing the last bit of her funnel-cake and then drinking her orange juice. She placed the now empty glass back on the table. "Excuse me." She turned to leave out of the dining-room.

"The boys would never sleep in and miss breakfast." Ned said, making Brooklyn stop in the doorway.

"You know, i was thinking that too, it's weird. It's kind of late." Olivia said.

"Um, you know, i'm on my way upstairs." Said Brooklyn, turning to face everyone at the table. "I'll just go check and make sure they're still sleeping or awake, so...don't worry about it." She said before she turned and headed out of the dining-room.

"That is one weird girl." Dustin said.

"You said it." Lulu agreed.

"She's not weird, i think you just make her nervous." Alice said.

"I make her nervous?" Dustin asked.

"Yes, you make her nervous. Everybody new in the family makes Brooklyn nervous." Alice said.

"Oh, yeah? Do i make you nervous?" Bill asked.

"Sometimes you make me nervous, sometimes you just drive me crazy...but right this very minute-"

"What?" Bill asked, cutting Alice off. "WHAT?!"

"You make me very happy." Alice answered, smiling.
