Flora's POV

I sighed. Zelda's been pelting me with questions for the past few miles. I've been answering them the best I could.

It all went a little something like this:

Z: Why did you give up the crown?

F: Hyrule hasn't been ruled in over a century and I never wanted the crown in the first place.

Z: Why did you come back?

F: I saw through the portal and decided I was bored and wanted to give all of Hyrule a heart attack.

Z: You know all of Hyrule? Shouldn't it be difficult to remember the names?

F: There's enough people to comfortably fit into the Temple of Time. It's not as hard as you think.

Z: When did the Calamity come in your timeline?

F: My seventeenth birthday.

Z: Do you have any idea why it rose earlier here?

F: That's like asking me what's the best way to infiltrate the Akkala Citadel. I haven't used all of them yet and need more details.

Z: Wha—never mind. How'd you unlock your powers?

And that was the question we were stuck on now. I didn't know how to answer it without falling into a flashback or tears.

"Well…" I started cautiously. "It was the day the Calamity rose. Wild was dying and barely standing on his own. A Guardian came and I knew Wild wouldn't be able to survive it so I I pushed myself in front of him. I thought 'I can't lose anyone else and a stupid machine won't stop me.' I felt something opening inside of me and then I was using my power. Not much else to it."

I looked at my right hand.

The Triforce began to glow weakly. No else seemed to notice it.

My powers had waned after that century using it non-stop so it wasn't as potent or bright or useful as when I first unlocked it.

"Well… can you help me unlock my powers?" Zelda asked hesitantly.

I shook my head causing the heiress' shoulders to droop. "I don't really understand enough of it to teach someone how to unlock it. All I know is that praying never did anythin to it. You have to unlock it. Not some washed-up goddess who doesn't give a fuck about us."

Twilight nodded. "Ain't that the truth sister."

We high-fived like it was a natural thing to be making fun of the White Goddess. But I didn't tell Zelda how she-I-we-this is confusing-was actually Hylia. How by unlocking her powers, she'll be awakened.

Sun taught all of us how we were the goddess reincarnated when we met and traversed Hyrules for a while but I took a break when Purah told me of a strange energy coming from underneath the castle.

Which then led to another crazy adventure and Link getting his arm possessed. Well, not possessed per se, but I don't know the proper term nor do I really care.

Like I said, Hylia don't give a shit.

"So what do we call you?" I asked Link and Zelda. "It'll get confusing on that battlefield if we hear our names called out."

"True." Four said. "It was already confusing but didn't want to tell them how we're Link."

"But what's Link's hero title?" Wind asked. "He hasn't even saved Hyrule yet."

"Pretty sure he's the Hero of the Calamity." I stated blankly. "Look around."

Wind stuck his tongue out at me and I ruffled his hair. The Sailor squirmed and bagged my hand away as Four, Twi and I laughed.

"So we'll call him Calamity." Twilight mused. "A little fitting given who his alternate self is, if this is a separate timeline."

Wind nodded. "And we can just call him Cal as a nickname. Like how we call you Twi."

I nodded. This'll work. "But what about Zelda? What'll her nickname be?"

"The Link usually decides that since they know their Zelda better than the rest of us." Four said. "Like how Wild named you Flora due to your love of nature."

We turned to Link—now named Calamity—expectantly.

He shifted uncomfortably under our stares as he though. His Zelda watching curiously.

Cal should be able to get a good name for her. At this point, Wild had been assigned to me for a good three years so we got to know each other quite well.

"What about…" Cal's voice was softer than Wild's. No scars were present to damage his vocal cords. It was different then I remembered it to be. Though to be fair, it has been one hundred years. "Destiny? Or just Desi?"

"I like it." Zelda—Destiny nodded in approval. She smiled softly at Cal who avoided her look uncomfortably.

Desi looked a little heartbroken but as far as I could remember, at this point in time even though I liked Link, he only had eyes for Mipha.

That was a difficult topic to explain to Wild.

"Princess!" A voice called from the front of our small army.

A captain ran up to us, trying not to trip over their armor. "We're approaching the Tundra Plateau. We should make it there within the next hour or so."

Destiny nodded briskly. "Normally, I would call for a break but Urbosa and Revali don't have that time. I hope you understand."

The captain nodded. "We'll keep going then."

Desi looked unsure of herself as the captain left however. I placed a hand on her shoulder.

She looked up at me in surprise. That's when I realized how much older than her I was. Desi here was sixteen and here I am, two months short of twenty. And a head taller than she was with no heel in my boots.

"You're giving the right call." I assured her. "I would kill Ganon and then myself if I let the champions fall again."

Destiny looked concerned but didn't say anything. She just nodded confidently and continued forward.

Impa gave me a approving look. "May I ask… How am I in your time?"

"You died last year." I deadpanned.

Impa paled. "Oh…"

"Because of old age." I assured her. Impa still looked confused but then her mouth formed a silent 'O'.

Then the advisor jogged forward to catch up with the princess.

"It's good you're here for her." Twilight said, looking at Desi. I nodded.

"If there's one thing I remember from one hundred years ago, it's how worthless and weak I felt." I shook my head. "My father's boundless nagging about my unlocking my powers or Link getting the Master Sword at twelve definitely didn't help."

Twilight glared at the ground. "He pulled it at twelve? Your father made you feel worthless?"

The Rancher looked ready to fight Ganon with just his fists right then and there. When I was with the Zeldas, we had spent a few weeks with the Links before parting. I guess Twilight grew protective of us as well during that short time.

I nodded.

The Hero of Light and Twilight gave a little growl like a wolf scaring off threats.

"But it's fine." I assured him. "None of that affects me anymore."

Four nodded. "No need to fight Ganon without backup."

Twilight glared teasingly at the smithy.

Wind spoke up, climbing up on Twilight's shoulders. Twi had to look up to see the youngest hero. "Besides, in a hour or two, you'll be able to get all of your anger out on some monsters."

Twilight shook and caused Wind to fall to the floor. "I'm not your horse." The older laughed lightly.

I took pity on Wind and gave him a piggyback ride as he stuck out his tongue at Twilight. "Don't mobilize him Flora!" Twi protested.

I just hummed happily as Wind adjusted him on my back. My equipment must be in his way.

"You're low on arrows." Wind pointed out helpfully.

"Oh!" I said. "That's what I was going to do. Get more arrows. And then that portal showed up and now I'm here."

"That's okay." Four said, reaching into his bag. "You can have some of mine, I never use them anyway."

He handed ten arrows to Wind who slid them into the quiver hanging upright under my right shoulder, moving my sword handle a little out of the way.

"You've got too much stuff." Wind complained. "You're like Wild. Always carrying everything at once. Put some in your bag!"

"But what if I need them?"

"You take it out!"

I laughed and suddenly, the Links were as well. This was the most comradeship I've felt in a while. Like I had a family.

"Tundra Plateau just ahead!" Someone shouted.

Turns out we were closer than they originally thought. Our laughter died out quickly.

I dropped Wind and we continued with our weapons out and ready.

My face hardened. Now was the time. I could save the champions and make up for all the nightmares and teasing from Ganon, trying to get me to give up.

Because I could do this.
