Chapter 7 – Boba's Palace
Luke and Ines arrived at the entrance of the Palace, in their ship. They decided that after having this meeting with Boba and Fennec, they would head back to Naboo.
The big gate opened and the ship entered, landing softly.
Once they walked down the ramp, with R2 right behind them, Ines couldn't stop looking around. It was the first time she was inside the Palace, since she never was there when 8 years ago they all release Han from the carbonite. Only Leia and Luke and Chewie were went inside alongside with Lando. She stayed outside waiting. But that place was also special cause it was there she find out she was pregnant with Ben.
Her thoughts were interrupt by Fennec, who appeared with a smile and hugged both of them.
"Welcome. Well Luke was already here, but it is the first time I welcome you," she said smiling at Ines, who smiled back.
"It is the first time I'm here."
Fennec nod and looked at the ship.
"I see you are heading back home."
"Yeah, we decided that we are going back to Naboo after this lunch." Luke replied.
"Well then let's get inside. Boba is waiting for you," Fennec said leading them inside the Palace with R2 rolling right behind them, beeping, which made Fennec glare at the droid.
Ines noticed that and smiled.
"Well he is having a dejá vú too, since R2 was also inside here along with 3PO."
Fennec frown.
"It is a long story. Ask Boba, he was there after all." Luke said.
"Where was I?" they heard, and they saw Boba standing in the middle of the throne room, near a big table filled with food.
The moment he saw them, he smiled and shook their hands.
"Boba!" Ines said. "It is nothing. Fennec will explain better."
"Okay then. Well welcome. I know Luke was already here more than once, but I hope you enjoy the lunch."
They look at the table, filled with food.
"Is this for us?" Luke asked.
"The cook always overreacted with food." Fennec replied.
Then they heard a sound underneath them, which made Ines jumped and looked at Boba, but before she could asked what was that, Ines spoke.
"No way!"
"Don't worry, this one is not like Pateesa."
"Like who?" she asked.
"Jabba's rancor. Remember?" Luke glare at her and she understood right away. She remembered the time that Luke feel in the pit and that's when she discovered she was pregnant.
"You have a rancor?"
"I thought Din told you it was thanks to him we dealt with the pikes years ago."
"I remember that story. Alena and Ieneh told us what happened. They are former students of ours."
"The two Jedi that live in Mos Espa!" Fennec said right away.
"Exactly," Ines nod. "But I'm sure you didn't call us to speak of the old times. What is going on!"
Boba looked at Fennec and then back to them.
"Let's eat and I will tell you what bring you here!"
They all sit down by the table and while they started to eat, Boba and Fennec inform them about an attack on a village that happened in a planet Bakura located in the Wild Space.
"Wait you said Bakura?" Ines asked looking at Luke. "Isn't that the same planet that Grievous used to call your father the hero of Bakura?"
"Yes." Luke nod. "You think it may be relate to some former Imperial stuff. Like Thrawn's followers?"
"We don't know. It may be a simple rivalry. Crimes happened all the time, even during the Republic. So it may be nothing but we agree if something odd happened we better inform each other."
"You did good." Luke agreed.
"How did you find this?" Ines asked them.
"Being a bounty Hunter, we have friend across the galaxy. And some old friends went to Mos Eisley to do a job and we met each other and they end up telling us what happened." Fennec told.
"How did they find out?"
"They went there. Let's face bounty hunters is a job that will never died. There are always someone or something that needs us. And they end up there in the middle of hunting and found out this village totally burn." Fennec continue.
"Besides Bakura was important during the battle against the Empire, it had a route close to Endor and between the battle of Hoth and Endor an important battle happened there." Boba told.
"Yeah we remember that. The Blue Squadron was important in our victory against the Empire." Luke told remembering those times.
"So it was not about the village that we called you, it was because the place and being a location that had history." Boba continue. "We don't have more information but we planned to gather more data and when we have that we tell you right away!"
"Please do."
"Maybe contact Din and Bo. They may help too." Ines suggested it.
"That is not a bad idea!" Fennec said looking at Boba who nod.
"And what you two will going to do with this information?" Boba asked.
Ines and Luke looked at each other since that was a very good question.
"Well since we don't know the true nature of what happened, I think we just need to keep this information to ourselves. Of course I will inform my sister and my mother about it. But so far we don't inform the Senate. We don't want to raise any unnecessary alarms. After all like you said, maybe was just a rivalry between tribes."
Boba nod, he knew Luke was right.
"I agree." he said and they continue to talk about that and other subjects, until it was time to say goodbye and leave to Naboo.
After hugs and keep in touch when something important happened, Luke and Ines alongside with R2 left the Palace and head back to Naboo, hoping that it was indeed only a tribe thing, but deep inside they knew something was coming for sure.
