Chapter 15 – Blessing

After Rex and Cody told what they thought and saw in Bakura, they stood in the living room still talking while the weather outside was still bad, with wind picking up and the rain falling heavily.

Cody kept looking at Luke, which made Ines noticed that.

"Cody is everything okay? You've being looking at my husband for quite a while. Like you know him!"

Everyone stopped talking and looked at Cody. Even Luke glare at him.

"I don't remember seeing his face, apart from Boba of course!"

"That's because you were a toddler but yes, we know each other for quite a while, but as you grew up and became a child, it was better for me and General Kenobi to stand back, so we couldn't upset your uncle."

"What? You need to tell us that." Ahsoka said.

"Yes, I didn't even know about it. But we were apart after the Order 66 and we didn't see each other years after that." Rex replied looking at Cody.

"Because I didn't want to tell. It was something personal and let's face, over time I felt ashamed for what I did to friends of a long time."

"Tells us!" Amidala asked him.

Cody sighed and nod.

"Fair enough!" he started and looked at the faces that were staring at him. Even Ben sat near his parents. He always loved to know these stories, especially because he kept watching the cartoons that told the story about the Clone Wars.

"After the order I still worked for the Empire. But with time I realize we were used, especially when the Emperor started to ditch us for the Storm Troopers protocol."

"The first dumb thing that he did, according to Han, and he is right!" Ines said right away.

"But it take a lot of money to continue to create clones. It was easier to just trained people from scratch!" Ezra replied.

"True. But it was sad to see and many of us got upset, that is why many of us with time started to leave without trace, and fight against the Empire!" Rex informed them.

"That's what I did. I was able to remove my chip, and the first thing I wanted to do was to repair the damage I did with a great friend."

"My Godfather!" Ben said right away making Cody and Rex smile at the 7 years old.

"That's right. General Kenobi. I fought by his side many years but when Order 66 came, I was not able to fight the chip, just like Rex for example!"

"Don't blame yourself for that!" Rex said.

"But I did, and I was able to find him in Tatooine. Even by accident. I was able to follow him and realized he was watching this family all the time. I wonder why? So I followed your family through Anchorhead and hearing things hear and there, and ask some question, I realized who you were. Cause there are not a lot of Skywalkers out there at the time."

"So you knew right there I was Anakin's son?"

"I figured that out, so I talked to General Kenobi, and I offered my help to watch over you when he was not around, cause he needed to work and what if something happened to you and your family." Cody continue. "It was way to apologize for trying to kill him back then. So I became friend with your uncle when you were still very little. You look a lot like your father but I noticed that your personality was from Senator Amidala, your mother!"

"I wish I could remember!" Luke smiled.

"You were a toddler."

"What happened?" Amidala asked.

"Well Luke started to grow and he started to show his force abilities, and Owen feared that the Empire could find or even sense that and come to Tatooine and killed them or taken him. So he found out I was close to General Kenobi and we had to stand back. But we were always watching over you. Always!"

"That's nice." Ines smiled looking at Luke.

"Well it is good to know I had such great protectors like both of you!"

"And it is nice to know the great Jedi you became, just like your father and mentor!" Rex said this time.

Later on:

Ines was in Leia's bedroom, with her new niece on her arms, sleeping peacefully, where she informed her of everything that happened early on and the info Rex and Cody told them.

"Yes we need to be careful and I understand why you point that. It doesn't make sense why that village and not the others."

"I'm thinking of many reasons but I don't know if I should tell without any evidence." Ines told her.

"May you need to started believing in your instincts more often." they heard.

Looking at the direction of the voice, they smiled when they saw the Force Ghost of Anakin Skywalker.

"You think?" she asked her father in law.

"I know what you are thinking, and I can't tell you if you are right or wrong, but you are a very intelligent woman, and should trust you and the force too. You are a very powerful Jedi, my dear. Never doubt it!"

Ines nod.

"Hello, what are you talking about father?" Leia said.

"I think Ines is the one who need to tell you."

"I will when the time comes. I just want to be sure but I will talk, trust me!"

"Okay!" Leia said.

"But I'm here to see my recent granddaughter and how beautiful she is," Anakin said smiling at the newborn sleeping at Ines's arms. "Welcome to the family my sweet Breha Amidala Skywalker Organa Solo!" he continue making Ines and Leia smile at that. It was always good to see him, and especially when he interacted with his grandchildren.

But Ines knew he was right, and she needed to talk to the person she trusted the most: her husband. She just need to be sure.

So Cody watched Luke too. That was nice.
