Angel: Once again, I know I don't normally update on weekdays, but I'm doing so for DN WhatIf, because they also made an audiobook regarding this story's first three chapters, similar to MHA Deku Fanfics. Video is called What if Deku and his twin sister were gifted with Quirks Part 1 from DN WhatIf, so this early upload is for them. Thanks to both of the Youtubers MHA Deku Fanfics and DN WhatIf for promoting the story on their channels, check 'em out if you prefer this story in audiobook form-although currently, it would be only up until chapter 8 that you'd be able to listen to them. If you want more parts from either, go spread some love. They both deserve it! Also I'm glad that people are enjoying the story, even the haters who I will probably earn some more against me for the ending lol
The five students all stared up ahead in shock at All Might. "A real hero...will always find a way for justice to be served!" The Nomu was lifted off the ground just as All Might landed nearby. The upper half of his shirt was completely torn. "Now for a lesson," He stood up slowly. "You may have heard these words before, but perhaps it's time someone taught you..." He grabbed a sparkle that had appeared thanks to his Quirk. "What it means...to go beyond!" He recoiled back his arm as it shined with immense power, and he gritted his teeth. "Plus ULTRAAAAAAAAAAA!" His hand powered up and it sent a blast so strong it sent Nomu zipping towards the ceiling. He then broke a light when he crashed through it, causing an explosion.
The Nomu was then shot out of the USJ and into the sky, moving away clouds as a sparkle appeared; it was safe to say that he wasn't coming back anytime soon.
"I really have gotten weaker...back in my heyday, five hits woulda been enough to knock that guy out," His shirt was almost completely destroyed by this point, his hair also a mess. He then stood up, blood seeping from his mouth as he placed a fist near his neck. "But today, it took more than 300 mighty blows."
Izuku let out a soft whimper, happy tears in his eyes staring at him. Although...smoke started to appear from the hero's neck. Izuka blinked in alarm seeing it.
'Time's up. Gotta end this fast.' He moved his foot, turning to Shigaraki and Kurogiri. "You've been bested, villains. Surrender. We all want to get this over with quickly."
Shigaraki was shaking in anger, as if he was about to throw a tantrum or something. "No...he beat me," He hissed furiously at the hero. "He's not any weaker at all. And look what he did to my Nomu...he cheated."
"Get your hands up," One of the villains ordered as Kyoka and Momo were cornered by them. Both of them gritted their teeth at the order. "And no Quirks, got it? Use your powers, and I'll kill your friend here," He held up Denki, who was still being affected by the limit of his own Quirk. He had drool coming from his mouth, and he also had a nosebleed.
"Kaminari's helpless," Momo whispered to her classmate.
"Damn villain," Kyoka snarled at the man. "He totally caught us with our pants down. I thought that electric blast would've fried them all. We're so stupid. How did we not see this coming?"
"I feel a little brotherhood with other electric types, so I don't wanna kill him," The villain stated to the three. He held up his own arm to shoot off a bit of electricity himself. "But I will if you make me." Denki whimpered a bit towards the villain's power.
The two girls gasped in alarm, holding up their arms in surrender. "An electric type," Momo murmured with a small frown. "He's probably the one Todoroki said was jamming our communications."
"Huh..." The villain murmured from her assessment, as she was actually correct. He then stepped forward towards the girls, Momo gritting her teeth more. "Don't move a muscle. Let's take this nice and slow."
As he was talking, Kyoka glanced to her right and noticed something, forming an idea. "You know, you two dudes are so lucky." Momo turned to her in confusion, wondering where she was going with this. "People with electric type Quirks are destined for mainstream success."
The villain stopped moving, staring at her in intrigue; she definitely got his attention. "What are you doing?" Momo whispered to her.
"I mean, even if you didn't wanna be a hero, there are tons of jobs you could do in the city, right?" Kyoka ignored the question and kept going. "Your kinda Quirk is in high demand," One of her ears moved and Momo gasped as she was hiding it behind her back. "So, I'm wondering...why would you become a villain in the first place?" She kept a confident smile on her face.
I see. Jiro can attack without moving if she can manage to get her earphone jack plugged in. Momo realized the girl's strategy and kept quiet for the sake of the plan.
"You don't have to answer," Kyoka spoke up again. "I just thought it might be interesting to know," Her ear moved towards her boot.
"Ha," The villain moved his sparking hand closer to Denki. He yelped and the girls gasped, looking a bit more on edge. "Nice try," He narrowed his eyes at their idea. "Think you can distract me that easily?" Kyoka gritted her teeth while moving her ear back. "Big mistake, sweetheart. I'm not some dumb thug who can be outsmarted by a couple a' kids. You need to learn to take hostage situations seriously," As he spoke, a few of his comrades twitched from their spots, starting to wake up from consciousness. "So here's the new deal. Either this idiot's going to die, or you are." He opened his hand and Denki let out another whimper. "How about that?"
Kyoka let out a grunt at being forced to choose, when really, none of them should have to decide. "You can save either his life...or your own." Momo's eyes shook at the ultimatum and he stepped forward with a chuckle. "Now. What's it gonna be, girlies?"
Eijiro, Katsuki, Izuka, Shoto, and Izuku continued to stare up ahead at All Might. It had grown silent between him, Shigaraki, and Kurogiri. They all stared in determination to stand in if needed. Oh, come on Shigaraki scratched the side of his neck. What's going on here? He's just as strong as he's always been. Dammit! Don't tell me I was lied to.
"What's wrong?" All Might suddenly asked, earning a gasp in return. "Not attacking me? Didn't you say you were going to clear this level earlier?" He then narrowed his eyes darkly, still ready to protect the students with everything in him. "Well, come and get me, if you dare."
Shigaraki let out a slightly terrified gasp while stepping backwards. "Man, this is...intense," Katsuki commented while sweating a little.
"As I expected," Shoto looked on with no hesitation. "There's no reason for us to fight now. He'll handle this."
Izuku let out a small gasp, as he finally noticed the smoke coming from All Might. It was starting to increase, which meant that he didn't have that much time left... "Come on, Midoriyas," Eijiro called out to them. "We should regroup with the other guys. The last thing we wanna do is get taken hostage or get in his way."
Neither of them registered what he said, though, and instead focused on the hero who could get exposed any minute now. Izuka's eyes shook a little; when she was concerned about her brother injuring himself and that All Might had to change his teaching style...she definitely didn't mean this. She didn't want him to overexert himself just so her brother wouldn't get hurt as bad as he did. Did she...say the right thing back then? If not...then this would fall on her.
This isn't right. He can't beat them Izuku thought in horror. He's bluffing. It's almost hidden by the dust, but Izuka and I can see it. The steam coming off his body is the same as when he's about to transform. He then furrowed his eyebrows trying to debate on what to do. He's out of time...
If he continues going on like this...everyone's gonna know the truth Izuka bit her lip while squeezing her eyes shut. And then the villains are gonna use that to their advantage, ending up in him really getting killed. She clenched a fist as she stared at the hero. So what can Izuku and I do for him now...? I need to make it up to him for making him think he needed to go this far just to spare my feelings...
Crap All Might thought as the smoke didn't go unnoticed for him either. I can't fight them. That Nomu guy took too much out of me. He was shaking while trying really hard to maintain his form. I'm pretty sure that if I make one more move, I'll be forced to go back to my weak form. He stared at Kurogiri and Shigaraki, as both of them were definitely too powerful to fight off now. Considering what Kurogiri did to trap him, he wouldn't be able to win against that type of power. I can't keep this up much longer. I just have to stall until they get here.
He then stepped forward a bit. "What? Are you scared?"
Shigaraki flinched in alarm that the hero was able to figure him out so quickly; mainly because neither him or Kurogiri had actually attacked or anything. Which made sense given what happened to the Nomu. They're hesitating. Kurogiri narrowed his eyes at All Might. Maybe this'll work. They're so close to surrendering, or at least running away.
Izuku looked terrified while Izuka stared at the hero knowingly of his plan. He's trying to buy time even though he can't fight anymore. I can tell by the way he's shaking. But the question is...will it really work?
Shigaraki let out a pant, gaining the attention of the twins. They noticed him scratching his neck with both hands. "If only Nomu was here, he'd rush you right now," He declared angrily, Izuka glaring at him a bit. "Pound you into the ground without giving it a second thought."
"Tomura Shigaraki!" Kurogiri turned to him. "Please, do not fret," He then looked to All Might, noticing the hero's injuries. "Look at him. He has definitely weakened. Nomu's attacks were successful." Shigaraki stopped scratching after realizing this and looked up. "He's on his own. The children appear to be frozen in fear," He gestured to the five students nearby, since none of them were actually moving away despite Eijiro wanting to find the class. Some of the villains were starting to regain consciousness, just like with Momo and the others. "And look, our underlings are recovering. We likely still have a few minutes before their reinforcements arrive. If you and I work together, we can do this. We haven't missed our chance to kill All Might."
Shigaraki slowly dropped his hands away from his neck that had started to gain rashes from the scratches. "Yeah...yeah, you're right. This is it. We have no choice. We have to do it now..." He then stared at All Might intensely. "I mean, the big end-boss is right here."
Katsuki and Eijiro gasped as they glanced behind them to see the other villains surrounding them. They both turned around in alarm, Shoto noticing them as well. "I think All Might can hold his own against those two main guys," The red-haired boy told Katsuki, hardening his arms. "Let's make sure these dudes don't hurt anybody else."
Shoto flinched and then turned around to the twins. Once again, they hadn't stopped looking towards All Might, not even registering the villains behind them. "Will you be joining us?" He asked the two, and they didn't answer.
Izuka and I are the only ones who know what's happening. Izuku thought since their classmates didn't seem to notice the smoke. There's no way he can move faster than the mist guy now. He has to have gone past his limit already. There's no real question about that. Izuku gritted his teeth, not sure if he could handle seeing All Might fight like this anymore. If these villains toy with him...he's done. All Might's hand was shaking of the possibility of having to fight and then getting exposed. And he couldn't let that happen.
Poor Mr. All Might...if we hadn't met him, we wouldn't even know the truth Izuka clenched a fist in front of her chest. What he really needs is to transform back, and he can't. That mist villain is too strong for anyone here to fight on their own. Mr. All Might knows the danger of all this, and yet he has to keep fighting for our sake. She shook a little in fear of what could happen should this go on any longer. And I can't imagine a world where Mr. All Might will win right now, even with everything he has...
Shigaraki raced forward towards All Might, who watched him. So this is it.
"Consider this revenge for what you did to Nomu!" Shigaraki cried out breathlessly, reaching out his hand.
Holy shit. This is bad All Might clenched another fist, Kurogiri charging in as well while opening up a warp gate. Where is everyone? I need...backup! He gritted his teeth at the two charging villains, unsure of what to do.
Suddenly a star shield appeared between him, Shigaraki, and All Might. Izuka was standing nearby while Izuku charged forward while jumping, shocking their classmates. Shigaraki gasped while turning to the boy, All Might staring at Izuka for her new power. He didn't see it the first time she used it nearby, and the first time she unlocked it, he wasn't there.
They're fast Shigaraki thought while Izuku broke his leg.
Izuka and I are the only ones who know how much trouble he's in! His legs were flailing while charging towards the two villains. Izuka then jumped up into the sky above the villains' heads, her arm still maintaining the shield.
"Whoa, Midoriya, Mido!" Eijiro exclaimed in shock, Katsuki and Shoto staring with their mouths open.
Izuku whimpered in pain while Izuka's arms started to burn up as she had reached her own limit now. Only All Might and Katsuki noticed, both of them gasping. I controlled it earlier, but my legs still broke this time. It's okay, though. We made it. Both of them could see the neck brace around Kurogiri's neck. Izuka flung her free arm backwards, preparing to fire. We can hit the part of his body that's hidden. We can end this now!
Izuku made his hand into a fist while Izuka gritted her teeth in pain from her arm. Ah! It's beginning to be too much. But I can't stop now, not while Mr. All Might's in danger! I have to do something to change this, so that he knows he doesn't have to go this far for me! I owe him at least that much for everything he's done for us.
Both of them let out a yell while Izuka charged up her power from her free arm. Izuku recoiled a fist back just like All Might did earlier. "Don't you touch All Might!" Both of the twins shouted in unison. "You stupid villain!"
Shigaraki immediately changed course to focus on Izuku, using Kurogiri's body to warp his hand in front of the boy. Izuka gasped at this and then moved her arm to fire her shooting star, fire coming from her arm.
Oh no! Izuku thought while his sister yelped in pain, holding her arm and dropping the shield in the process. Izuku then remembered what happened to Mr. Aizawa's elbow. I recognize that hand! Shigaraki caught the shooting star before it could hit him, and to their shock, he used his quirk so that it turned into rock. He then extended the blast towards Izuka, who gasped sharply. The rock was starting to decay away, but not because it would disappear. Once it hit its target, the attack would decay anything it touched!
"I won't fall for that again!" Kurogiri declared as Shigaraki cackled evilly while about to kill the twins. All Might gritted his teeth, as he couldn't move and he hated not being able to do so. For if he did, he'd expose his secret... the villain continued to laugh evilly, his blast about to hit Izuka. Izuku could only look on wide-eyed as the hand was about to touch his face, the twins staring at each other one last time.
Suddenly a bullet hit Shigaraki in the arm, blood flowing from it as it stopped him from killing Izuku. He dropped his other arm while Katsuki lunged forward out of nowhere, hugging Izuka close and essentially getting them out of range. The two were lunged to the side because of the amount of force from the save, both of them rolling to a stop nearby. Katsuki gritted his teeth looking up towards the blast going towards the ceiling and then held up his hand, sending an explosion towards it. It exploded in midair, people bracing themselves as Katsuki thankfully stopped it before it could destroy the USJ. Izuku grunted as he landed right in front of the villain, Izuka and Katsuki panting slowly. He was sitting right over her stomach, sweat dripping down from the side of his face as he tried to catch his breath. The boy then looked down at her and flinched.
Eijiro and Shoto stared at the duo, Izuka looking to the boy in shock for him saving her once again. Neither of them turned away or moved as it felt like it was just the two of them. Izuka then froze from thinking like this just because he saved her—three times at this point. She quickly pushed him away before either of them could say anything, and the others looked towards where that bullet came from.
"They're here...!" All Might murmured in relief, as it was actually the hero and teacher Snipe who fired. He fired again, the bullet going through the various rocks to hit the villain holding Denki hostage. Momo and Kyoka flinched in shock to suddenly see blood coming from the man's right arm and left shoulder. He dropped the blond while groaning in pain, falling onto the ground.
Kyoka and Momo dropped their hands, very confused as none of the three were responsible. "What the crap just happened?" Kyoka wondered while Momo gasped, turning around.
"Is it them?" She could faintly see the entrance to the USJ from where she was.
The villains looked up towards the entrance. "Sorry, everyone!" Principal Nezu announced while stepping forward. "I know we're a bit late. But I got the teachers over here as fast as I could." Rikido, Hanta, and especially Minoru smiled in relief. Mina had tears in her eyes as Mezo and Tsuyu looked up ahead. Mr. Aizawa was still unconscious on the boy's back.
Ochaco's eyes were shaking happily, tears in them. "It's Ida!"
"Your class rep has returned," His voice boomed to everyone. "I've fulfilled my duty. And I've brought reinforcements!" All of the faculty from UA were surrounding him, Principal Nezu sitting on a teacher's shoulders.
One of the villains growled in annoyance, yelling and firing immediately. The others then charged in.
Present Mic let out a small chuckle, stepping forward. He then took a deep breath and let out a screech sonic blast with his voice. It was enough to distract the villains as they covered their ears in pain, several of them being sent flying. One of them even passed out.
Another teacher released smoke from his mouth, and it formed into clones of himself. The villains had no time to react as the clones jumped forward, attacking them.
"Our priority is to protect all of our students!" Principal Nezu pointed forward.
"Yes, sir!" The teachers answered in unison as Minoru, Ochaco, Rikido, and Hanta all smiled. Explosions then occurred from the fighting. Shigaraki stepped backwards towards Kurogiri.
"Aw, man. The pros are here," He held his injured hand. "It's game over, for real. Let's go home and try this when we can-" Another bullet hit him through the legs this time and he fell to the ground in pain. Kurogiri held up part of his body as a shield so that Shigaraki wouldn't get injured further. Snipe continued to fire towards the two.
"We need someone who can capture 'em from a distance," He stated, since his weapon wasn't going to do much against the warp shield.
"I'm on it," Thirteen offered and he stopped firing, turning to her in confusion.
"Let's go!" Kurogiri's body loomed over Shigaraki, and before they could leave, he started to get swept away by Thirteen's Black Hole. Despite being injured, she was still able to use it. "Black Hole!" He grunted while struggling to fight back against it.
"I may have failed to kill you this time," Shigaraki declared to All Might nearby watching. "But your days are numbered."
"Ha!" All Might let out a cough, blood coming from his mouth.
"All Might. Symbol of Peace. I am going to kill you!" He then disappeared into the warp gate, which disappeared itself into thin air. Thirteen stopped using Black Hole and everyone was in silence.
Mashirao and another teacher stared at all of the villains lying on the ground in the Fire Zone.
That day, we learned what pros could do. And what they fight against...to keep us all safe.
Present Mic was in the Rain Zone with Fumikage and Koji. He glanced towards one of the villains that the students had to fend off without their help.
Another teacher was helping Denki, Momo, and Kyoka, while the clones were watching over all of the villains should they wake up.
For what felt like so long, we had to fend ourselves against real villains. It's...honestly a miracle we got out alive as much as anyone did. For it hadn't been for the teachers...most of us probably would've lost our lives.
It was a revelation we weren't prepared for. Shoto glanced at the shocked Katsuki and Eijiro. But somehow, we survived.
Izuku groaned while still laying on the ground. Izuka looked up at him in alarm, rushing over and forgetting about Katsuki. "Izuku!" She kneeled in front of him, seeing his broken legs, and only the legs were broken. At least he didn't break his whole body unlike last time. She could see him shaking and she gently placed her hands over his shoulders to calm him down.
"I couldn't do it," He muttered and she blinked in confusion. "I wasn't able to help you or even save my sister. She could've died!"
"That's absolutely not true," All Might contradicted to him immediately. The boy flinched and looked up, gasping. Izuka followed his eye of sight, seeing that half of All Might's body was to his normal form. He grinned towards the twins. "You bought me a few vital seconds. If not for that, I'd be dead now." The light shined down between him and the twins from where Nomu disappeared off to. "Young Midoriya, Young Mido. You've saved me once again. And I thank you for not only reminding me of what's important for your brother, Young Mido...but for showing me your new power. I knew you had it in you to grow stronger than when we first met."
She flinched in surprise while Izuku gasped. "Thank you...All Might," He shed some tears again.
Izuka closed her eyes with a small smile. "I...I pushed myself all thanks to you...Mr. All Might!" She said happily and he smiled at the two. Izuku let his tears flow from his eyes, snot dripping from his nose.
"We're just...so glad that you're okay!" Izuku revealed in relief.
"Well, my, my, my," Snipe commented once the villains had escaped, much to their disappointment.
"I can't believe we let them escape, after everything they did here," A female teacher commented while another put down Principal Nezu.
"They did catch us completely by surprise," He had a smile on his face, hands behind his back. "For now, we need to make sure all the students are okay." Snipe and the female teacher nodded at him in agreement.
"If all the pro teachers are gathered here, it must mean the rest of the school's safe," Shoto rubbed the back of his neck. Katsuki briefly glanced at him. "The villains attacked this facility, but not the rest of the campus."
"Midoriya, Mido, hey!" Eijiro shouted while rushing over to them.
"Sorry, I can't get up," Izuku glanced up at him. Eijiro couldn't see All Might in the smoke.
"E-Even if I help him, h-he won't be able to walk very well," Izuka stammered a bit nervously.
"What? Are you two okay?" Eijiro called out while heading their way.
Ah, Kirishima. I'm glad to see that he's looking out for his friends. Then All Might realized...he was back to normal, and he might be seen. Oh, crap, wait. If he comes over here, he's gonna learn my secret! Not good!
The twins gasped in realization of the same thing, glancing around in alarm. "Kirishima, wait-" Izuku held out a hand. Suddenly a wall made out of the ground rose up in front of Eijiro, and it was thanks to a teacher nearby.
"For your safety, please stay back, young man," Cementoss explained to him. "Join your classmates at the front gate. Leave the injured to us, we can take care of them."
"Oh, gotcha," Eijiro smiled, thankfully not questioning it further. "I'm on it!" He then ran back to Shoto and Katsuki. "Hey! He said for all of us to head to the entrance!" He blinked in confusion to see that Katsuki was staring towards the wall. The blond noticed his stare and huffed, turning away. No way was he letting it slip that he might've been wondering about Izuka, though he couldn't fathom why.
The twins and All Might all sighed in relief. The man bent down as Cementoss stared at them. "Thanks for that. You saved my butt, Cementoss."
"My pleasure, I'm actually a big fan of yours," He admitted to the man, Izuka giving a small amused smile.
Cementoss! His Quirk: Cement. He can manipulate any cement he touches, which makes him a heck of a fighter in the concrete jungle.
"We should sneak you out of here and get you all to the nurse's office," Cementoss informed the three of them.
"O-Oh...actually, besides me reaching my limit, I'm not hurt at all thanks to...Bakugo-San..." Izuka blinked slowly as it hit her once again that she'd be dead if it wasn't for him.
"Oh yeah! I have to thank him later, though he probably wouldn't wanna hear it from me," Izuku gave a sheepish smile.
"That's right..." All Might murmured while glancing at her. Katsuki lunged forward out of nowhere, hugging Izuka close and essentially getting them out of range. The two were lunged to the side because of the amount of force from the save, both of them rolling to a stop nearby. Izuka glanced away awkwardly, twiddling her thumbs together as they all stared at her. By the looks of it...it's not the first time he's done something like that for Young Mido. Is it because he wants to continue looking down at her that he saves her life?
"Seriously, All Might," Cementoss spoke up again. "That could've been really bad."
"I had to act recklessly, or else I'd be dead now," All Might defended while turning away. He then wiped at the blood on his left cheek. "Just goes to show how strong those villains were."
Izuku stared at him wide-eyed and then looked down. The hero made a good point...meaning that they'd most likely run into those villains again.
At a bar, a purple portal appeared to release Shigaraki onto the ground. "Ow!" He hissed in pain. "Shot in both arms and legs. All those underlings wiped out. Even Nomu was beaten," He hissed as blood was seeping from his injuries. "We failed. Those kids were so strong," He let out a grunt of pain. "And the Symbol of Peace wasn't weakened at all. You were wrong, Master. So wrong!"
"No, I wasn't," A voice from not inside the building spoke up. That was because he was being transmitted through a video feed from the TV. But they couldn't see his face, they could only hear him. "We just weren't as prepared as we should've been."
"I agree," Another male voice spoke up. "We underestimated them. Thankfully, we failed under that cheap League of Villains name and not our own. And what about the creature the Master and I created? Where is Nomu?"
"Yes, why is he not with you?" The Master wondered as they could apparently see Kurogiri and Shigaraki.
"He was blown away," Kurogiri explained with a bit of hesitation. He was now dressed in a suit instead of being mostly an entity like earlier.
"What?!" The second voice exclaimed in alarm.
"It was All Might's doing," The purple warp villain told them. "Without coordinates to his precise location, I couldn't use my warp to bring him with us," He then stepped forward, clenching his fists. "We didn't have any time to search for him."
"This is a travesty!" The second voice lamented from the news. Nearby was a poster of All Might, but it was not only slashed, but ripped. "And after all we did to make him as powerful as All Might."
"Well, I suppose it can't be helped," The Master replied, not showing any anger at all. "Unfortunately."
"Power..." Shigaraki murmured a bit. "That reminds me. There were two kids there who tried to protect All Might. He was just as fast as him, and she managed to gain a new power. She's the one who attacked that villain on TV."
"Oh?" This got the Master's interest. "She was, huh?"
"If they hadn't gotten in our way...we might have killed the Symbol of Peace," He clawed at the floor in front of him. "Those brats...those brats!"
"Naturally, you're upset," The Master pointed out to him. "But this was not a futile mission. We've learned many things. Gather the villainous elite. Take all the time you need. I must remain hidden in the shadows, which is why I need you to be my face. A symbol of your own. Tomura Shigaraki." Shigaraki looked towards the TV wide-eyed. "Next time, you will show the world that it should be afraid of you."
Police sirens were blaring outside of the USJ, as they were called in to help investigate the attack. "16, 17, 18, 19," One of them counted off, looking towards a paper in front of the class. "Everyone seems to be unharmed except for that boy whose legs were all messed up and the girl who overused her Quirk."
Toru placed a hand on Mashirao's shoulder. "Ojiro." He glanced over to the invisible girl in confusion. "I heard you were a really good fighter. I had no idea you were so strong!"
"I didn't know I was the only one on my own," He gave a small sweat-drop. "I survived using hit-and-run tactics. So where did you end up fighting, Hagakure?"
"The landslide zone!" She pointed over to Shoto, as that was where he was. "You wouldn't believe how strong Todoroki was. He's amazing!"
"You don't say!" He chuckled a bit in amusement of her admiration. "Well, I'm just glad you didn't get hurt."
Shoto kept staring up ahead, as up until now, he felt like he was alone back there. I didn't even know she was there. I could've frozen her.
Yuga stood proudly with his cape and body shining. "Aren't you wondering about moi? Where was my sparkling light?"
"Interesting," Fumikage commented to Koji, Eijiro, and Denki, all of them ignoring Yuga. "So the people you fought were also low-level thugs."
"Yeah," Eijiro punched his fists together. "They messed with the wrong kids, huh? And I can't believe Bakugo saved Mido like that. Almost like his body was on auto-pilot or something," He rubbed his chin in thought. Katsuki lately seemed to always be the first to save Izuka, even when she didn't realize she needed it. He couldn't help but wonder why he kept saving her life when he couldn't even stand her.
"Did you miss me?" Yuga gestured to himself.
"So All Might put that hole in the dome after all," Hanta commented to Rikido and Mezo, as they found out from the latter it was the Nomu that they saw earlier. Once again, Yuga was ignored by his classmates. "I figured."
"That took some hardcore power," Rikido glanced to Mezo.
"Yeah, it was crazy," He nodded in agreement.
"Where do you think I was?" Yuga placed a hand on Tsuyu's shoulder.
"Um, where?" She asked plain and simple.
"It's a secret!" He boasted with a small smile.
"Let's go ahead and get these students back to the main campus," The cop from earlier walked up to them. "They've been through a lot. We don't need to question them right away."
"Detective," Tsuyu hopped over to him on all fours like a frog. "What about Mr. Aizawa?"
The teacher was currently in the hospital. "The bones in his arms are splintered and he's got facial fracturing. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be any serious brain damage. But, his orbital floor has been almost completely destroyed." His scarf was nearby, blood splatter on it. "We have no way of knowing if his eyesight will be impaired once he's healed up," The detective held up the recording device, as he recorded the doctor in case any of the students asked about their teacher's condition.
"Ribbit..." Tsuyu murmured in alarm while Minoru shed some tears.
"Not his eyes...!" The boy cried out.
"Um, sir, what about Thirteen?" Mina questioned while Kyoka and Momo looked worried.
"There's no need to worry there," The man turned to her. "Despite some pretty bad lacerations to the back, Thirteen is gonna pull through, good as new." Thirteen was also in the hospital in her own room, her destroyed suit nearby. The three girls sighed in relief to hear the news. "And All Might is also without any serious injuries. He's in the nurse's office right now. Recovery Girl's power should be all the treatment he needs."
"What about Deku and Mido?!" Ochaco cried out in worry, since they hadn't heard about the twins at all.
"How are the Midoriyas?" Tenya asked from behind with a concerned frown. Katsuki opened his mouth and then closed it, gritting his teeth. He had no idea why he was about to ask about Izuka...maybe because he pushed her out of the way. He squeezed his eyes shut, as thinking about her was pissing him off. She needed to stop flooding his mind.
Damn it, mousy. Why the hell are you so engraved in my thoughts right now? She's no one important... He thought about the three times he saved her and when she used her new power to help her classmates. That's all there is to it.
"Midori-" The detective then tipped his hat in realization of who they meant. "Ah, Recovery Girl is taking care of them too. They're both fine."
Ochaco, Momo, Tenya, Fumikage, and Eijiro all looked happy to hear it. "Oh, thank goodness," The girl smiled at him.
"Now, let's get you back to class," The detective informed them.
"Okay!" Most of them said in agreement, starting to board the bus.
"Sansa," He turned to a fellow cop. "I still have some business in the nurse's office. I'll leave this to you, kay?"
"Yes, sir!" The cop saluted to him.
It's a cat? Mina thought as she and Ochaco were nearby.
Aw, look at his bell! Ochaco cooed to herself.
Katsuki hadn't started heading to the bus yet. In fact, he was staring towards the building. Two gusts of wind appeared near the three boys. Katsuki gasped as in less than seconds, Izuka and Izuku had already acted. Izuka's arms started to burn up from overusing her Quirk.
The blond let out a scoff, clenching a fist. If he had been the one to act first...and if the mouse didn't have to reach her limit...
"Come on, man, we're going back to class now," Eijiro called out to him.
"Yeah, yeah, I heard him, ya idiot," Katsuki glanced over his shoulder and walked away.
Inside, Snipe, the female teacher, and Principal Nezu were staring at the damage caused. "We need security improvements," Principal Nezu suggested to them. "Perhaps an entire system overhaul."
"Agreed," Snipe nodded to him.
"Warp Quirks are very rare," The female teacher closed her eyes while thinking. "And can completely change the course of a battle. It's frightening to know that a villain has such a power."
Principal Nezu frowned while pausing. He admitted that...deep down, he was concerned about that as well. If a villain had a warp Quirk...then what would be his next move? They could come from anywhere now.
"Tsukauchi, sir!" A police officer called out to the detective. He turned around as his comrade ran up to him. "Someone thought to be involved in this attack was just apprehended in a wooded area nearby."
Tsukauchi gasped as...it was the Nomu All Might punched into the sky that they found. "Report."
"He has no apparent injuries and seems to be complying with officer commands, for now." Nomu was heavily guarded and chained. "He hasn't said a word, though. We're not sure if he can speak."
Tsukauchi glanced down in thought, and then saw Principal Nezu walking up, along with the female teacher and Snipe. "Principal!" He took off his hat and bowed. "I'd like to investigate every inch of the school, just to be safe."
"Of course, please do!" The principal encouraged with a smile. "You'll have full access to the campus. We definitely need your assistance on this matter. I don't care who makes a fuss. You have my blessing."
Tsukauchi nodded with a smile and put his hat back down. "Teams. Proceed as planned," He then left them behind.
The sun was setting as everyone had returned to UA. As they were walking, Ochaco looked up with a small frown, wondering about the twins once again...
In the nurse's office, Recovery Girl let out a sigh. "Well, I guess I won't scold you for him being back here and for involving his sister too since it wasn't your fault." All Might and the twins were lying down in bed. Izuka was between the both of them.
"I can't be sure yet," All Might spoke up breathlessly. "But I think I shortened my time limit again with that fight." Izuku gasped while glancing to his right side, Izuka letting out a small breath. "I hope I can at least still hold the form for an hour."
"I'm so sorry," Izuku frowned a little.
"Now that you shortened it...it'll be even harder to maintain around school and our class," Izuka gave a worried expression.
"Well, no use worrying," He sat up in bed. "These things happen." He had bandages around his upper torso. Izuku's eyes glistened staring at him. It was then a bit of silence before the door was heard opening.
"Excuse me," Tsukauchi spoke up and the nurse smiled at him. "Hi, All Might. Been a while."
"What the hell?!" All Might had blood spurting from his mouth in surprise. "I didn't know that you were investigating."
"Whoa, All Might!" Izuku sat up in alarm, Izuka gasping nervously. "It's okay he's seeing you like this?"
"Oh, yeah, it's fine," All Might assured the twins, the girl letting out a breath of relief. "This guy's all right. Naomasa Tsukauchi, my best friend on the police force. He's legit, I trust him."
Naomasa let out a small laugh. "That's quite an introduction. Sorry to cut to the chase, but we could really use any information you might have."
"Hold on," All Might nervously held up his hands. "Before all that. Tell me all the students are okay." The twins listened eagerly as they had been wondering about their classmates as well. Izuka blinked as Katsuki came to mind and she looked away nervously; wherever that thought came from, she needed to get rid of it. "And Aizawa—Er, Eraser Head, and Thirteen."
"Not counting these two," Naomasa glanced up towards the twins. "The only student injuries were scrapes. And both of the teachers are in stable condition right now. Relax."
Izuku sighed in relief, the girl placing a hand in front of her chest. "T-Thank goodness everyone's okay..." She then took her pillow and put it over her face with a groan, falling backwards for thinking of the angry blond once again. Izuku blinked at her in confusion.
"That's good to hear," All Might gave her a knowing smile that she was stuck on Katsuki saving her.
"If you heroes hadn't risked your lives, the students would never have made it. You three saved that entire class of kids today," Naomasa gave a small smile.
"You're not seeing the whole picture, Tsukauchi," All Might turned to him. "Those students also risked their lives. They fought as hard as us."
The twins turned to him in surprise that he was giving them credit, as a few times they thought that they were just getting in the way. "...Thank you, All Might," Izuku told him softly. Class 1-A was currently walking down the halls.
"I don't think there's ever been a group of first-years who experienced a real fight like this so early in their training. They not only survived, they learned what it means to be a pro," He then gave a proud grin. "Those villains made a mistake attacking them. This class is strong," They all looked towards the sunset outside the window. "They're filled with courage...and drive."
Naomasa nodded in agreement with him. "Mr. All Might..." Izuka murmured quietly as courageous...was a word she didn't associate herself with. But looking back...maybe there was a bit of truth to it.
"Mark my words. They'll become great heroes."
Izuku looked at his hand and made it into a fist, vowing to live up to that statement. And so did everyone else in their class, as they reflected on what happened lately. The twins turned to the man with small smiles, and he gave them a thumbs up. What he said...was towards them too. They nodded and then looked back towards outside. This...was only just the beginning for Class 1-A...
"Goodnight!" Izuku stated to Recovery Girl as he was heading home first. Izuka still needed a few more minutes with Recovery Girl before she could leave. She did burn up her arms a bit back there... "Thanks so much for your help! I'll see you at home, Izuka."
"My pleasure. Be careful on your way home," Recovery Girl called out to him.
"Yes, ma'am," He then ran down the hallway as the moon was now out. We had no way of knowing, but the League of Villains' attack on the USJ was just the beginning.
Because even though we all survived...this failure for the League only motivated them more to accomplish their goal.
A bigger incident was on the horizon.
He came to a stop in front of the entrance, gasping in surprise to see Ochaco and Tenya waiting for him. "Deku, you're here!" She smiled towards him and his eyes shined happily that they were willing to wait that long. "What about Mido? Yaoyorozu wanted to be here to see her too, but she had a ride."
"She has to stay behind a little longer, but I'm sure you'll get to see her in class soon," Izuku stated to the two of them.
"How is her condition now?" Tenya pushed up his glasses.
"Oh, she's gonna be okay! She didn't overuse her Quirk too badly thankfully," Izuku rubbed the back of his neck; although if she had continued using it for a few more seconds, her arms probably would've reacted like the doctor said they would.
We were just happy to be alive.
And to have prevailed from the League.
The three talked happily while walking home.
To have shown that we had the potential to be real heroes. But the worst was yet to come.
Because believe it or not...there were people out there who challenged the thought of heroes.
Someone kneeling on a rooftop looked towards the city, his tattered scarf blowing in the wind. He then licked his lips...
Izuka opened the door about 10 minutes later, glancing behind her. "Thank you...so much, Mrs. Recovery Girl," She bowed her head to the nurse. "F-For everything that you've done lately..."
"Oh, don't fuss about that. You just worry about getting home safe. Have a good night, Mido."
Izuka smiled from even the nurse saying her new nickname and nodded with a small hum. She then closed the door behind her and ran off. She had left her art supplies in the classroom since the USJ incident had taken up a lot of time. Oh well, she could just paint another day. And the streets wouldn't be too busy at this hour anyway, so she could handle less people going home.
"Mousy!"
She skidded to a stop, surprised to see Katsuki leaning against a railing. They were just around the corner to their classroom. He narrowed his eyes looking at her, one hand in his pocket, and the other holding her black bag she left behind. The girl...really hoped he wasn't here to interrogate her again about her or Izuku, she did not need that so soon after what happened at the USJ. She then glanced to her bag; trying to get it from him wasn't worth it and she could save up her allowance.
Damn it, this is just like last time. Okay, slowly back away and maybe he'll leave me alone. Why is he even here this late anyway? And did he...did he get my bag while I was at the nurse's office?
"Walk away and I explode you," He warned, causing her to freeze. Izuka then sighed in exasperation.
"W-What do you want now...?" She muttered and he didn't say anything at first.
She stepped back a bit and he raised a brow as she dropped her paintbrush right in front of her. The girl then held up a shaking hand, thinking he was gonna attack her.
He then narrowed his eyes a little. Maybe it was because of her reaction from last time, he didn't know, but...it was gonna get old really quick unless he said something about it. She definitely wasn't comfortable around him to say the least.
"You can go back to your regular spot at the PE grounds if it's really that important to paint there," He suddenly spoke up.
She gasped while looking back at him and judging by the look on his face...he was serious. "W...what?" She asked breathlessly, wondering if he was backing off for now. "...This isn't a trick...is it?"
"No," He scoffed and walked down the hallway. He then moved right past her. "It's so that I don't have to look at your dumb paintings whenever I go home."
She stared at him open-mouthed, unsure of what to say. Was he...actually being nice? Well, nice was a loose term here, she'd never describe him like that.
Katsuki reached out past Izuka's face to grab the villain before he could do anything to the girl. She looked at him wide-eyed for his move, wondering how he was able to sense it, yet she or Eijiro didn't. Katsuki then let out an explosion, causing the villain to scream in pain. Izuka stared at him in shock, her eyes shaking for what he did.
"W-Wait," She called out nervously and he stopped, looking over his shoulder. "I-I...know it doesn't mean much coming from me, but...u-um, thank you? For saving me lately and...for not asking me about my brother or my Quirk...I can...take back that bag," She reached out to it with both arms.
He straightened up as he had almost forgotten it, but...given his behavior with her lately, he knew that she needed a breather. He wasn't dropping it altogether, but he didn't wanna spend much more time chasing after a mouse.
"I don't need your gratitude," Katsuki remarked before walking off, still holding her stuff. "You coming or what?"
"Huh?" She blinked incredibly at the question, recoiling back in alarm. "Y-You...want me to go with you? Why?"
"Idiot. Do I really need to spell it out for you? If you were really an intended target for those dumbass villains, then obviously you can't walk home alone. Like you could take anyone on. As for me, ha! They'll run away just by looking at me, the weak extras. Come on, I don't have all day!" He glared at her a bit at that last part.
She froze in surprise, wondering what had gotten into him all of a sudden. She then waved a rapid hand after getting over her shock. "Oh! N-no, you don't need to take me home, really, I-I'll just call a cab." Besides, if Izuku sees him, he'll interrogate me all night...or someone from school might see us and get the wrong idea, which would make him mad.
He narrowed his eyes at her, staring her down. She flinched while dropping her hand, cringing. "I-I mean...I appreciate that and all, but...y-you don't need me getting in your way, is all. And you...probably have things to do, so-"
"Don't make me resort to using my Quirk," He grunted in annoyance, closing his eyes. "We're gonna take the train home and I don't wanna hear any more excuses from you. Now hurry up before I start exploding your supplies."
"Eep!" She squeaked and quickly ran up to him, hiding behind the blond; the last thing she wanted was for her to destroy her expensive supplies that she had to save up allowance on...
Both of them walked in silence towards the exit, and to her, it felt really awkward. This is so weird. Why'd he insist on walking me home? I know that those villains were targeting me a bit less than Mr. All Might, but still. Or maybe he's just trying to show off again...
"From now on, I'm taking you home every school night, you damn mouse," He broke the silence and she turned to him in shock. "You can't keep going home on your own, especially after what happened at the USJ."
"Mm..." She frowned a bit as she didn't know if she had a choice or not. She felt like if she said no, he was just gonna continue waiting for her until she caved. The idea wasn't a bad one, it was just that...well, it was Katsuki doing this. And she didn't understand why at all; he never offered to walk her home or carried her stuff for her. "H-How'd you know...that I forgot my bag?"
"It was under your desk, and you always carry it to class. You really think I wouldn't catch on, dumbass?"
Izuka blinked slowly at this; did...did he pay attention to stuff like that when she wasn't looking? She did technically sit next to him, so she wondered just how much he observed after just a few weeks of school. And it brought up the question of why he even cared enough to notice. He then glanced away from the girl. Why am I doing this for her? She's just like Deku, except more annoying. I didn't think that was even possible. It's...because she's so weak and small that she can't handle herself. Yeah. Right. He frowned deeply while thinking of her using her new power, as well as her first ever use of her Quirk. She's nowhere near my level.
Izuka only remembered light talking and walking the rest of the way back. Making small talk with him wasn't exactly what she expected to do tonight... Once she was finally at her apartment building, Katsuki shoved her black bag into her hands. "Take it before I explode it. And stay out of my way when we're walking next time. Tch," He turned around and stormed off, and she blinked in confusion.
I just don't get him sometimes...not like I'd understand his reasoning even after he tells me. She sweat-dropped awkwardly staring at him.
"I'm home," She opened the door, taking off her shoes.
"Oh, thank goodness!" Inko cried out while leaping forward for a hug. "Izuku's been telling me all about what happened, my baby...!"
"Mom," Izuka gave a sheepish smile, but hugged her back.
"You didn't go home alone, did you? Uraraka and Ida wanted to wait for you, but I didn't wanna keep them from their curfew," Izuku stared at the girl.
"Um...well, actually...Bakugo-San walked me home..." She admitted in embarrassment, earning a wide-eyed look from her brother.
"...Huuuuuuuuuuuh?!" Izuku screeched in shock, and she knew that she was in for a loooong conversation with him...
