Never Let Me Go
Chapter 2
I did what i thought was right. What i was supposed to do.
I was taking a gap year to figure out what my next steps would be anyway. Which left my schedule and time open for anything.
I made my way to UCLA. I reached out to Peyton and found out from her where Nathan's dorm room was.
I knocked on his door and waited.
I was met with his face. From what Peyton told me he had a private room.
"Can we talk inside.? It's important. This can't wait." I insisted.
"Haley. What are you doing here.? What is this?" He questioned.
"I know we thought our goodbye was exactly that."
"But i have news. You need to know."
"I'm pregnant." I announced. The news still feeling like a dream to me.
Nathan stared at her eyes wide. Stomach sinking.
"Haley the timing for this couldn't be worse. I have a dream that i'm so close to having. I can't just back out of that now."
"I care about you. I have for so long."
"But this is just too much for me to handle. Plus if my parents find out." Nathan replied.
Haley swallowed hard.
"I got it. I thought you should know."
"I won't bother you again." Haley replied. As she turned from him making her way to the closest exit she could find.
...
"What am i going to do? I'm 18. I'm pregnant. The guy doesn't and can't deal with this?"
"My parents are gone. I was supposed to take a year off to figure things out. Now that break feels ongoing with no end date."
"I can't believe this is happening." Haley proclaimed.
Lucas engulfed her into a hug.
"You will never be alone in this. You have me." Lucas reassured her.
